Janet Johnson
Janet Johnson, nee Kneip, age 55, of Spring Grove was tragically taken September 24, 2003 at home. She was born January 25, 1948 in Tarpan Springs, FL. She worked as a real estate broker for ten years in Lake County.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Kim) Berbaum of Minneapolis, MN, Michelle Boles (Anthony Condoluci) of Elroy, WI and Sonya Johnson of Spring Grove, grandchildren Brooke Berbaum, Alex Condoluci and Eric Condoluci, father Joseph Kneip (Doris) (late Elizabeth Moody), siblings John Kneip (Debbie) of FL and Judy Waters of Waukegan.
Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6 at SPRING GROVE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 8103 Wilmot Rd. (1 Mile N. of Rt. 12) Spring Grove, IL.

Edward L. Mjelde
Edward L. Mjelde, 66, of Zion, IL, passed away on September 26, 2003 in Waukegan, IL. He was born on June 10, 1937, in Waukegan, IL, and was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School.
Edward retired from Ameritech (Illinois Bell Telephone Co.) after 34 years of service. While he was employed, he belonged to the Volunteer Corp for Illinois Bell. He served in the United States National Guard and was a member of the Swedish Glee Club in Waukegan, IL. Following his retirement, he and his wife spent the winters in Englewood, FL.
Ed is survived by his wife, Jackie; four daughters, Lynn (Wayne) Turco of Brandon, FL, Laurel (Dan) White of Lake Villa, IL, Judy (Chuck) Fredbeck of Waukegan, IL and Kim (Joe) Knobbe, of Zion, IL; two sons, Jim (Kathy) Kerpan of Fulton, MS and Louie "Jack" (Melba) Kerpan of Zion, IL; 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Donald (Gertrude) Mjelde, Robert (Norma) Mjelde, Kenneth Mjelde and three sisters, Shirley Helmkamp, Barbara Swaag and Nancy Struve, along with numerous, beloved nieces and nephews and a host of friends in Illinois and Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Elizabeth Mjelde.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Ed's life on October 1, 2003 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 824 N. Lewis Avenue in Waukegan at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in his name.

Bernice A. Rompella
Bernice A. Rompella (nee Stanevicius), 83, of Waukegan, died Friday, September 26, 2003 at the Winchester House in Libertyville. She was born January 1, 1920 in Chicago, and lived in Waukegan all of her life.
Bernice was a lifelong member of Holy Family Church, formerly St. Bartholomew Church and was a strong supporter of all St. Bartholomew's church, school and sports activities and was a member of St. Therese Altar Society, St. Bartholomew's Mothers Club, Catholic Women's Club and St. Bartholomew's Seniors Club.
She loved her homemaker's role along with gardening, baking, and cooking for her family and many others. She was always a port in a storm for people in need. She was a graduate of St. Bartholomew School and Waukegan Township High School Class of 1936.
Bernice is survived by her sons: Edward of Zion, Michael of Waukegan, John (Elaine) of Gurnee, Daniel of Manning, SC and Thomas (Ray Ann) Rompella of Antioch, and her daughter Margaret (Allan Markle) Rompella of Grayslake, nine grandchildren; Peter, Joseph, John, Daniel, Thomas, Timothy, Kymberly Rompella, Pamela Rompella-Riggin, and Kristine Wolski, seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a family friend, Terry Prange, one brother, Al (Verna) Stanevicius of Beach Park, two sisters: Lucille Kayse of Manning, SC and Eleanor (Don) Goodman of Murray, UT and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edward Rompella July 5, 1992, her parents, Julius and Mary (Masokas) Stanevicius and a granddaughter Heather Sears.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at Holy Family Church, 450 Keller Ave., Waukegan. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the SALATA FUNERAL HOME, 729-14th St., North Chicago, IL. Donations in her memory can be made to Holy Family Church.

Karen J. Schelling
Karen J. Schelling, 60, of Libertyville, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Dennis. Adored sister to Sharon (Frank) Palandri, Gail (Gary) Bryk and George (Jane) Hanson. Dearest aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Norma Hanson and her brother Russell Hanson.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 2003 from 6 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. at KELLEY & SPALDING FUNERAL HOME, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winchester House, 1125 N. Milwaukee, Libertyville, IL 60048.

Josephine F. Zasada
Josephine F. Zasada, 79 (nee Werenski) of North Chicago died Friday, September 25, 2003 at the Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Zion.
She was born May 18, 1924 in North Chicago and lived there most of her life.
She was an avid bingo player and a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Josephine is survived by her son, David (Linda) Zasada of Barrington, IL and her daughter, Carol Kinsey of Zion. Two grandsons, Bradley and Brian Zasada and a granddaughter, Morgan Kinsey and many special friends at the Rolling Hills Nursing Home.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Zasada, July 16, 1996, her parents, Anton and Mary (Nosal) Werenski, three brothers, Steve "Slug", Ted and Joe Werenski, two sisters, Vickie March and Anne Werenski.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2003 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Salata Funeral Home, 729 14th St., North Chicago. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at Queen of Peace Church, 900 14th St., North Chicago with interment to follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville, IL.

Leticia Maria Keith Albarran
Leticia Maria Keith Albarran, 50 years old, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 7, 1954 and lived most of her life in Lake County. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister and aunt.
Survivors include her son, Victor (Rebecca) Garza; daughter, Jennifer (Richard) Lopez; four grandchildren; her parents, Roberto and Estela Albarran; her sister, Josephina (Ricardo) Villarreal; her sister, Elizabeth Norma Alterson; Her sister, Blanca (Larry) Ogle; her brother, Robert (Cindy) Albarran, her sister Yolanda (Paul) Gilchrist, her sister, Enedelia (Teresa) Albarran; her brother, Rich Albarran; and numerous loving nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Leticia was preceded in death by her daughter, Elva Alicia.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 from 5 to 8 PM at the MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 305 N. cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2004 from 9 to 10 AM at Holy Family Parish, West site, located at 450 Keller (McAree) Avenue, Waukegan, IL. A Mass service will be held at 10 AM. Interment will be in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
The family would appreciate in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago located at 17 North State Street, Suite 1300, Chicago, IL 60602. www.epilepsychicago.org.

Caroline Nicole Daly
of Gurnee
With her family and friends by her side, Caroline Nicole Daly passed away in peace on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Rush Presbyterian Medical Center in Chicago. Our dear Caroline was born April 26, 1984 in Bethesda, Maryland.
Caroline is the daughter of Marcia and Terry Daly, and the sister of Alexandra. Other survivors include her grandmother, Naomi Paris of Vancouver, WA; aunts and uncles, Audrey & Steve James of Folsom, CA, Annmarie & Dean Roberts of Vancouver, WA, & Dennis Daly of Streamwood, IL; cousins Jake Roberts of San Diego, CA, Greg Roberts of Vancouver, WA, Mary Roberts of Boulder, CO, Katie Daly of Boston, MA, Sean Daly of Boston, MA, & Patrick Daly of San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Bill Paris, and Frank and Laverne Daly.
While Caroline battled cystic fibrosis for 20 years, she had a full life. She loved tennis, swimming, skiing, music, bike rides and was an excellent writer. She also loved to travel, especially at Christmas to Sun River, Oregon, with family. Caroline had many friends whom she loved & loved her, especially Ritu, Liz & Jackie. Caroline graduated from Warren Township High School in 2002 and attended Western Illinois University.
A celebration of Caroline's life will take place Thursday, September 30 at Noon at VILLAGE CHURCH OF GURNEE, 1319 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage friends to contribute to the Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute, Bayside Business Plaza, 2672 Bayshore Parkway, Suite 520, Mountain View, CA 94043.
We miss you Caroline, but we will see you again in heaven.

Geraldine Leppala
Geraldine Leppala (nee Natalie), age 81, a lifelong resident of Waukegan, former resident of Lilac Lodge for several years. passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2004, of a long illness in the Pavilion of Waukegan.
Services will be held Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, 410 Grand Ave., Waukegan. Interment Northshore Garden of Memories cemetery in North Chicago, IL.
She was an employee of the Waukegan Twp. H.S. before retiring. She was a devoted and serving member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was blessed with a large family and so many wonderful friends.
Survivors include her one son, Duane of Wadsworth; two daughters, Linda of Wauconda and Carol (Roy) Greenlee of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Erica and Matt Leppala, and Michelle and Patrick Olson; two sisters, Virginia (Ed) Lemmer of IL., and Eleanor Loeber of FL; two brothers, James (Donna) Natalie of AZ., and Francis (Melva) of FL; one sister-in-law, Vieno Cusimano of CA; and several wonderful nieces and nephews and their children.
preceded in death by her husband, Sulo; her parents; four brothers; and her wonderful sister, Rosette Belzer; a true angel.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be taken by the family to have a Plaque made in her memory at Christ Episcopal Church.

John E. Morgan
John E. Morgan, 92, of Libertyville, IL passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the Winchester House in Libertyville. He was born August 7, 1912 in Auburn, New York, was a former resident of Chicago, living in Libertyville since 1993. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine and Christ Methodist Church in Chicago. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville and before his retirement, had been a design engineer for the International Harvester Corp. in Hinsdale.
Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia (Bill) Colaric of Libertyville and Diane Binnie of West LaFayette, IN; four grandchildren, Mike (Kelley) Binnie of Winston-Salem, NC, Kathy (Bill) Hinshaw of Monticello, IN, B.J. Colaric of Huntington Beach, CA and Sarah Colaric of Chicago; six great-grandchildren; his sister, June Duke of Washington D.C. and sister-in-law, Moneta Morgan of Canton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Katherine Morgan; by his wife, Florence Morgan in 1992; and by his brothers, Bill and Jim.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville, with the Rev. Dr. Brian R. Paulson officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services on Saturday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Winchester House in his memory.

Dennis C. Mullan
Dennis C. Mullan, age 65, of Kenosha, WI, passed away September 24, 2004 at the All Saints Medical Center, Racine, WI. He was born January 10, 1939 in Chicago, IL, and has been a resident of Kenosha, WI, for the past 10 years, and formally of Northern Lake County for over 30 years.
Dennis served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1958 to 1963. He was also a bartender at Louie's Restaurant of Waukegan, for over 28 years, and also enjoyed golfing and bowling.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Sandra J. (nee Buck Wesley); nine children, Wendy Mullan of Chicago, IL, Kerry Mullan of Mundelein, IL, Kenny (Bobby) Mullan of Round Lake Beach, IL, Jeffery (Debra) Wesley of Racine, WI, Cynthia Wesley of Racine, WI, Allan (Renee) Wesley of Sturtevant, WI, Daniel (Elizabeth) Wesley of Milton, FL, Kathi (Brian) Eckman of Kenosha, WI, Shirley (Michael) Larkin of Racine, WI; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia (Martin) Lambert of Island Lake, IL, Sharon Rauschenberg of Vernon Hills, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Emma Mullan.
Friends may call Saturday, October 2, 2004 from 1 to 5 PM at the Symonds Lakes Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 W. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment Private.
