Bobby Dean Ivory
Bobby Dean Ivory, 65, of North Chicago, Illinois passed away Saturday March 24, 2001 at St. Therese Hospital. He was born December 30, 1935 in Alton, IL.
He was a retired Veteran after serving 22 years of service in the United States Navy until 1976.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Joann; one adopted daughter Sheila Ivory of North Chicago; two stepsons Randall (Annette) Bratcher of Waukegan and Lyndon (Angelica) Bratcher of Zion; two stepdaughters Joann Bratcher and Gladys Bratcher of North Chicago, 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; three step brothers, Harold; James and Charlie Webb, Jr.; three stepsisters Leona Delores Foster; Joyce Fay and Patricia Webb, five sister-in-laws Carrie Sue; Elatrice; and Hattie Pearl all of Waukegan; and Vera and Effie both of Newport, AR., one brother-in-law John Coburn of Newport, AR., and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mrs. Senobia Webb; as well as his stepfather Charlie Webb, Sr., his grandparents Alonzo and Josephine Nolan Ivory Ingram and one stepson Otis Bratcher.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the Mount Mariah Christian Center, 524 10th Street, Waukegan, IL., with Rev. Solomon Smith officiating. Interment will be held at Post cemetery, Fort Sheridan, IL.
Visitation will be at the Church Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Arrangements by WESTGATE FUNERAL HOME, 228 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL. 60085. (847) 662-8000.

Dorothy E. Borden
Dorothy E. Borden, 88, of Zion, Illinois, died Sunday, March 25, 2001 at home.
Dorothy was born January 5, 1913 in Zion to the late Robert and Alvers Ray, and was a lifelong member of Christ Community Church in Zion.
Dorothy is survived by four children, Delores Hermann of Zion, Wayne (Polly) Borden of Phoenix, Arizona, Richard (Priscilla) Borden of Oceanside, California and Barbara (Wayne) Chase of Highland Park, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a brother, David Ray of Phoenix; and her companion, Regina Maciuliene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; a granddaughter, Lisa Petrosky;; a brother, Robert Ray; and a sister, Alberta Dow.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2001 at 10:30 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will be in North Shore Garden of Memories.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening in the f
uneral home.

John E. Berrafato
John E. Berrafato, 89, of Libertyville, died March 24, 2003 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Born September 10, 1913 in Chicago, he had been a resident of Libertyville for the past 50 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Libertyville and had retired as an administrator in civil service at Great Lakes Naval Base.
Survivors include his sons Gabriel (Ann) of Beloit, WI and John (Melisa) of West Hill, CA, his granddaughter Sarah Marie Berrafato and his sister Gina Berrafato of Sicily. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane in 1989.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 29 at MCMURROUGH CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Entombment at Ascension Mausoleum, Libertyville. Visitation is on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joseph School Endowment Fund, 121 E. Betty A. Carragher
Betty A. Carragher, 87, of Waukegan, passed away March 18, 2003 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center, Lindenhurst. She was born June 2, 1915 at Mason City, Iowa. She was a member of St. Anastasia Parish and a civilian employee of Great Lakes Naval Training Center until her retirement. Following her career with the Navy, she was employed by the Waukegan Public Library System and was active in volunteer work.
She is survived by a nephew, nieces, a great nephew and great nieces. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Mrs. Harry (Byrthe) Carragher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Henry Carragher, four brothers, Alexander, Harry, Leo and George and her sister, Nancy.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 29, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Ave., Waukegan. Family members will greet friends one hour prior at the church. Burial services will be private. Arrangements by PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan. Memorial gifts, in Betty Carragher's memory, may be made to St. Anastasia School.

Marie Hamming
Marie Hamming of Lake Forest, IL. passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Lake Forest Hospital, Lake Forest, IL.
Born to her father Gerard Strating and mother Alice (Timmer) Strating from Milaca, MN, on September 11, 1913. Her husband Edward Hamming deceased 1982, married March 6, 1946 in Pease, MN.
She was survived by two sons; Dr. Edward G. (Nancy) Hamming of Lake Forest, IL and Dr. Bruce A. (Mary) Hamming of Lake Bluff, IL. Sister-Henrietta Strating of Lockport, IL., five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and a sister.
Marie Hamming was a resident of Lake Forest, formerly of Rock Island. She was a graduate of the University of St. Cloud, MN. She was a very active member at Good Sheperd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, IL. She was involved with the Endowment Society at Augustana College, Rock Island. She was employed as a teacher for the Rock Island School District for 14 years until her retirement in 1977. She had previously lived and taught in Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, Illinois. Officiating will be Rev. J.D. Georlett. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Calling will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday March 28, 2003 at the Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Edward Hamming Memorial Fund at Augustana College, Rock Island, IL.

Maxine L. Kramer
Maxine L. Kramer, 79, of Gurnee, formerly of Waukegan, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Lake Forest Hospital. She was born November 20, 1923 in Black River Falls, WI and had been an area resident for over 50 years. She was a member of Temple Am Echod. She was active in numerous temple activities including Haddasah of which she was Past President and lifetime member, she was a sales consultant at I. Magnins for nine years, receiving several sales awards and gaining recognition for her accomplishments in the retail sales area, she was a real estate broker and co-owner of Lake County's Best Realty. In addition, she had been a volunteer nurse at AAUW Nursery School and volunteer at Condell Intergenerational Day Care, where she took care of many babies whose families still remember her.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 53 years, Norman; her children, Sandra (Rex) Alford of Houston, TX, Kathy Weintraub of Gurnee, Larry (Colleen) Kramer of Green Oaks, Brian (Kathy) Kramer of Beach Park and Jeff (Cheryl) Kramer of Waukegan Township; grandchildren, Aaron, Jordan and McKenzie Kramer, Joshua Weintraub and Allison Petersen; her sister, Arlene (Kenneth) Peterson of LaCrosse, WI; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Algie and Lillian (nee Smith) Sprester; brother, Charles Sprester.
Private Funeral Services will be at 11 AM Sunday, March 30, 2003 at PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd, Waukegan with Rabbi Ellen S. Wolintz-Fields officiating. Interment at Am Echod cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maxine's memory may be made to Chai Lifeline, Fighting Illness with Love, 847-763-1818.

Fred Barrett Lentz
Fred Barrett Lentz, 73, of Gurnee, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2003 in Waukegan, IL. He was born January 9, 1930 in Culloeka, TN and was a member of Culleoka Church of Christ, Culleoka. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve and had retired from the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife Jean Lentz; his daughter Teresa L. (Tim) Krebs of Florida; his grandchildren Carlton Barrett Krebs, Paiton G. Krebs and Triston M. Krebs; his sister-in-law C.E. Mears of California; his brothers, J.W., Harold, and Paul Lentz; three sister-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. Burial will be private. Visitation is from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to MARSH FUNERAL HOME. (847) 336-0127.

George R. Parker
George R. Parker, 86, of Lake Villa, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born July 10, 1916 in Lake Geneva, WI. He especially loved his family and took great pride and joy in his children and grandchildren, he loved being outdoors with them. George retired after 33 years and 3 months of service at Johns-Manville Corp.
Survivors include his loving wife Vivian Parker; five children David (Loretta) Parker, Louise (George) Weckbacher, Karen (Dave) Eaton, Katherine (Eugene) Green and Billie Grabowski; twelve grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Olive Herner and Helen Soder, two brothers, Russell and Allen, and one son-in-law, Gary Grabowski.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2003 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan. Burial will be at Highland Memorial cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. (847) 336-0127.

Charles B. Bernard, III
Charles B. Bernard, III, 83, of Waukegan passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001 at home.
He was born December 7, 1917 in Norfolk, VA.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Past President of Waukegan Little Fort Lions Club, former member of the Wisconsin, IL and National Environmental Health Associations, former member of the American Water Works Association, former member of the U.S. Water Pollution Control Association. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy retiring after 30 years of service in 1965. Retired from the Lake County Health Department in 1979 as an Environmental Control Engineer.
Survived by a son, Charles S. (Carole) Bernard of Philadelphia, PA; a daughter, Helene (Alan) Peterson of Hacienda, Heights, California; two brothers, Kinter (Jean) Bernard of Lakeland, Fla and George (Vivian) Bernard of Winter Park, Fla; a sister, Nell (John) Santivasci of Norfolk, VA; four grandchildren, Steven Bernard, Joanne Owens, Stephen Peterson and Erick (Jennifer) Peterson; three great grandchildren, Zachary Peterson, Kelly and Kristen Owens.
preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (nee Hoeft) in 1981; as well as parents.
Funeral Services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2001 in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 3350 N. Delaney, Waukegan with Rev. Jeffrey Koth officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM Tuesday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, 1521 Washington St. and 9 to 10 AM Wednesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Mary Lyons Brunette
Mary Lyons Brunette, 94, died February 19, 2001 at Rolling Hills Manor, Zion. A life-long Waukegan Resident, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was in the first four-year graduating class of Holy Child High School.
Survived by a sister, Patricia Zelenik of Franklin, Tenn., and sisters-in-law Barbara Lyons of Waukegan and Lucille Lyons of Birmingham, AL. Also nephews Gerald Lyons of Lake Forest; Charles Lyons of Aspen, CO., Terry Lyons and Tim Lyons, both of Birmingham, AL., and William Zelenik of Franklin, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Brunette; parents Katherine and Edward Lyons, brothers John, Edward and Charles Lyons and sisters Anne Lyons and Kay Peters.
Funeral Services were private with Father Paul Cull officiating. Burial in Ascension cemetery.

Cyril R. Dietmeyer
Cyril R. Dietmeyer, a life long resident of Wadsworth, Illinois passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born February 25, 1913 to Elizabeth and LeRoy Dietmeyer. On July 6, 1940, he married Marian Beshel. He retired from Johnson Motors in 1976. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Wadsworth.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marian; three children, James (Caroline), Margaret (Chris) Bock and Mary; and a daughter-in-law, Karin Dietmeyer, all of Wadsworth; 12 grandchildren, Lisa (Rick) Grosskopf, Kristi (Rick) DeRue, Robert Bock, John Bock, Kerry (Steve) McCaughey, Jennifer Bock, Patrick, James, Jr. and Nathaniel Dietmeyer, Aime (Ron) Gramer, Sarah and Elizabeth Dietmeyer; ten great grandchildren, Amanda and Eric DeRue, Jessica and Danielle Grosskopf, John, Erna, Ginny, Little Cy and Emily Gramer and Christian McCaughey; two sisters, Genevieve Rotundo of Richardson, Texas and Dorothy (Robert) Spesock of Twin Lakes, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John; and a sister, Barbara Stahl.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at St. Patrick's Church (new church), 15000 Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth, IL with Fr. George Dyer officiating. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville, IL. Friends may call at the church from 9 AM to time of Mass. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Patrick's Church Building Fund, 15000 Wadsworth Rd, Wadsworth, IL, 60083. Arrangements are under the care of PETERSON AND PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan.

James Mitchell Hahto
James Mitchell Hahto, of Waukegan, IL passed away Thursday, March 22, 2001 at Provena St. Therese Medical Center, Waukegan.
Lead set up man for the sauce department for Ocean Spray Cranberry after 37 years of service.
preceded in death by his parents, John and Molly Hahto.
Survived by three sisters, Molly (Frank) Logan, Margaret Hedrick and Jacqueline Hahto; a brother, John (Marilyn) Hahto; many nieces and nephews; and eight great nieces and nephews.

Lucy J. Hathaway
Lucy J. Hathaway,80, died at Lake Forest Hospital on Saturday, March 24, 2001.
She was a long-time resident of Lake Forest and a well-respected Realtor in the area for 25 years.
Born in Santiago, Chile, she came to the United States as a teenager, prior to WW II. She was an alumnus of the University of Maryland, and, had lived in many parts of the United States, including Towson, MD, Hillsborough, CA, and Greenwich, CT, prior to moving to Lake Forest.
She is survived by her four children: Lynne Johnson of St. Michaels, MD, Nancy Healy of Greenwich, CT, Norman Hathaway, Jr. of Washington, D.C., and Lisa Hathaway of Lake Forest. She had six grandchildren: Martha Blonder Burke of Red Bank, NJ, Andrew and Steven Healy of Greenwich, CT, Nancy Blonder Child of Basking Ridge, NJ, Peggy Blonder of Albuquerque, NM, and Billy Burbush of Lake Forest, IL. Her cat, Ditka, will mourn her also.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Hathaway, in 1969.
Private services were held on Tuesday, March 27. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity, Lake County.
Memorial visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 E. Vine Avenue, Lake Forest.
