Irene Bernero
Irene Bernero died at her home in McHenry, IL on September 2, 2003 at the age of 93. She was a beloved homemaker, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Louis; a daughter, Joan and in infant son, Thomas.
She was survived by three children, Lois, James and Mary. She was a loving grandmother of 14; great grandmother of 12 and great great grandmother of two.
Her burial was private.
Donations made in her name to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois. 410 S. Hager Ave. Barrington, Illinois 60010 would be greatly appreciated.

Marjorie "Marge" E. Bunting
Marjorie "Marge" E. Bunting, 82, of Round Lake, IL passed away September 4, 2003 at Wauconda Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survived by six children, Jane (Jerry) White, Jerry (Martine) Bunting, Linda (Mike) Patrick, Jeffrey Bunting, Dan (Barb) Bunting, David (Patricia) Bunting, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
preceded in death by her loving husband Ira J. Bunting.
Services will be private under the care of MARSH FUNERAL HOME. 847-336-0127. Burial at Northshore Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 4709 Golf Rd. Suite #1015, Skokie, IL 60076.

Barbara A. Falk
Barbara A. Falk, 53, of Gurnee, IL, passed away Friday, September 5, 2003 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She was born January 27, 1950 in Evanston, was a former New Hampshire resident, living in Gurnee for the past four years. Barbara was raised in Evanston and was a 1968 graduate of Lake Forest High School.
Surviving are her mother Patricia (Andrew) Miles of Summerfield, FL; a sister Pamela (Larry) Kaplan of Midlothian and brother, Martin Cain of Waukegan, James Cain of Austin, TX, Gregory (Gabrielle) Cain of Beach Park and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Kathy Burris, by her step mother Nancy Cain in 2001 and by her father Wesley Cain in 2003.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10 at St. Mary's cemetery in Techny. Arrangements are by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

Rocco Fiore
Rocco Fiore, 83, longtime resident of Highland Park, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2003.
Loving husband of 57 years to Rose. Devoted father of Rocco (Paula) Fiore, Jr. of Lake Forest, JoAnn (Alan) Borlack of Evanston and Steve (Mary) Fiore of Lake Forest. Adored grandfather of Bradley, Sara, Jennifer, Katie and Allison Fiore and Jared and Julia Borlack. Dear uncle to many.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 9 at KELLEY & SPALDING FUNERAL HOME, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL. Funeral mass 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 10 at St. James Church, 134 North Ave., Highwood, IL. 60040. Interment Ascension cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago, 1440 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607-9717 or St. James Church.

Robert F. Hund
Robert F. Hund, 76, formerly of Waukegan, and of late, Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away on Sunday September 7, 2003 of heart disease at his home. He was born on July 23, 1927 and was one of six children born to Paul and Blanch Hund of Waukegan, Illinois.
He was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School and of Lake Forest College and continued his education with special courses at Northwestern University and the Michigan University Graduate School of Business. He served in the Army from 1946 to 1947. After basic training in Field Artillery, he was assigned to the Eighth Army Headquarters Chief of Staff office in Yokohama for more than a year.
He was Personnel and Safety Director of North Shore Gas Company until his retirement in 1988 after nearly 33 years of service. He was president of the Lake County Management Association, the Charter President of the Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois Industrial Management Association, president of the Lake and McHenry Industrial Safety Association, president of the Lake County Employment Managers Association, Chairman (two terms) of the First Aid Committee of the Red Cross North Lake County Chapter with a goal to have a first-aider in every home, and an instructor for 12 years. He was Chairman of the Waukegan-North Chicago Chamber of Commerce Health and Safety Committee, a member of the Chamber's National Affairs Committee and of its State Legislative Task Force, a member of the Advisory Council of the Lake County Safety Commission, a member of the Special Agents Association, a member of the Industrial Fire Protection Section of the National Fire Protection Association, a member of the American Gas Association general management section, a Conference Leader in an AGA national safety conference, and a member of the Lake County University Club. He was a member of the St. Anastasia Church and served on its Boy Scout Troop 16 Committee, which, through providing opportunity and guidance, produced an unprecedented seven Eagle Rank scouts over a five year period.
He is survived by Elizabeth (Thornborough), his wife of 51 years, two daughters Renee (George) Pratscher of Gurnee and Jacqueline (Dr. V. Stephen) Slana of Pleasant Prairie, WI, one son Robert M. (Sabrina Kapp) of Munich, Germany, two sisters Hazel (late Gunnard) Danielson of Waukegan, Geraldine (late Jack Torogian), (Howard) Peskator of Gurnee, nine grandchildren, Sean, Mallory, Megan, Zhanna and Yana Pratscher of Gurnee, Virginia, Elizabeth, Stephen and Caroline Slana of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and 25 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Dorothy (Thomas) Traynor of Beach Park and brothers Darrel (Ruth Ebbesen-Albin) of Tucson, AZ, and his twin brother Richard (Phyllis Stevenson) of Waukegan.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 10, 2003 and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, 1521 Washington St. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Ave., Waukegan. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery. Memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop 16, or the American Heart Association.

William Levinson
William Levinson, age 78, died at his home in Lake Bluff on September 5th. Mr. Levinson was a decorated World War II combat veteran and spent his career in the practice of law in Chicago.
He was the son of the late David and Sara Levinson and stepson of the late Minnie Buzard Levinson of Highland Park, IL. Nephew of the late David Neumann of Santa Fe, NM and brother of the late John and David Levinson, Jr. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Eaton), sons Richard (Diana) and William, daughter Anne Penway (Michael), granddaughters Josselyn Levinson and Dorothy Rose Penway, nephew Joshua (Dieuwke) and great-nephew David.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Salvation Army or the Roger Baldwin Foundation of ACLU, 180 North Michigan Ave., Suite 2300, Chicago, IL 60601. A gathering for remembrance will be held October 11th at 2 p.m., KELLEY & SPALDING FUNERAL HOME, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL.

Eugene A. Perschke
Eugene A. Perschke, 87, of Lake Bluff, passed away September 4, 2003 at home. He was born November 19, 1915 in Phillips, WI. He retired from U.S. Steel Wire Mill after 31 years of service. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran and served in North Africa and Sicily before being wounded.
Survived by three sisters, Mable Marsh, Dorothy Webb and Bernice Davis, two brothers, Alvin (Eunice) Perschke and Oliver (Joyce) Perschke, many nieces and nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
Preceded by three sisters Emily Murray, Eva Lyons, Helen Hemphill and two brothers, Robert and Louis Perschke and his parents.
Services at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2003. Burial at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee.

Evalyn F. Storbeck
Evalyn F. Storbeck, 77, of Highland, IL passed away Sunday, September 7, 2003 at her son's home in Grayslake. She was born April 2, 1926 in Highland, IL, the daughter of Oscar and Frieda Gantner Zimmerman. Mrs. Storbeck was born on Lemon Street in Highland, IL; she grew up in Highland, graduating from Highland High School in 1944. After becoming licensed as a beautician, she worked at Vera Robert's Beauty Shop; following her marriage she worked at Wick's Organ Company for several years. She has been a housewife for the last 40 years. Mrs. Storbeck enjoyed camping, playing golf and traveling. For many years, she and her husband enjoyed their winters in the Valley in Texas. She enjoyed baking pies for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Harry F. Storbeck of Highland, IL, son Darrel A. (Janet) Storbeck of Grayslake and grandson, Christian S. Storbeck of Grayslake.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mearl O. Zimmerman on May 15, 1987.
Private funeral service will be Friday, September 12, 2003 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, IL with Rev. David K. Martin; Associate Pastor of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland presiding. Interment at Highland City cemetery, Highland, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Robert Alexander Allexon
Robert Alexander Allexon, a 55 year resident of Grayslake, died Thursday, September 6, 2001 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT. Beloved husband of the late Grace (Guderyahn) Allexon.
Born in Chicago, July 31, 1917, he was the son of the late Arthur and Martha (Bergslein) Allexon. Mr. Allexon attended North Park College in Chicago. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he served with the 186th Infantry Rifleman (Scout and as a US Army photographer, 25th Division, during the occupation of Japan. Among the many awards he received were, the Combat Infantry Badge, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, Army of Occupation (Japan) and Philippine Liberation with one Bronze Star. Before his retirement in 1976, he had been employed as Advertising Production Manager for Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago for 28 years. A member of the United Protestant Church of Grayslake, American Legion Post #659, Grayslake, Rising Sun Masonic Lodge #115, Grayslake. in his free time, he enjoyed photography and drumming.
Survived by his two sons, Robert Arthur Allexon and his wife, Deborah of Killingworth, CT and Craig Richard Allexon of Grayslake; grandfather of Kevin Michael Allexon of Washington, D.C., Jeremy William Allexon of Killingworth, CT and Nicholas Richard Allexon of Barrington, IL; brother of the late Leonard Arthur Allexon.
A Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 at the United Protestant Church, 54 South Whitney St., Grayslake, IL, 60030. Burial at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville. Memorial contributions may be sent to Voices of Vision, 127 S. First St., Geneva, IL, 60134.

Gerald "Jerry" Hauer
Gerald "Jerry" Hauer, 61, of Prairie View, Illinois died suddenly September 5, 2001 at his home. He was born June 14, 1940 in Stillwater, MN., and had been a resident of Prairie View since 1961. He was the owner of Jerry's Supper Club of Prairie View for the past 29 years. Jerry had served in the Armed Forces as a member of the Marine Corps.
He is survived by his children: Marla Larson of Whitewater, WI., Steve (Anita) of Fox Lake, Julie Hauer of Trevor, WI., and Renee (Brian) Spencer of Trevor, his grandchildren: Melissa and Melinda Larson, Elizabeth and Steven, Jr. Hauer, Bradley and Stacy Anderson and Cheyanne Spenser, his sisters and brothers John, Charlie, Arlene and Elaine.
Funeral services at 10 A.M. Saturday, September 8, 2001 from MCMURROUGH CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, to St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church for Mass at 10:30 A.M. Private Interment at Vernon cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-9 P.M. at the funeral home. If desired, memorials to the American Heart Association 208 S. LaSalle St. Suite 900, Chicago, IL. 60604 would be greatly appreciated.

Kenneth B. Hoffman
Kenneth B. Hoffman, age 75, of Lake Villa, IL passed away at Vista Health/St. Therese Hospital, Waukegan, IL on Wednesday, September 5, 2001.
He was born in Chicago, IL, on November 7, 1925, the son of the late Bernard and Martha 'Lil' Hoffmann. He moved to Lake Villa in 1964. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy. He was a member of the Bricklayer's Union - Local 21, Chicago and retired from Great Lakes Naval Base. He was a life member of the VFW Post 4551, Antioch and was a member of the Moose Lodge, Antioch.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn, and his children, Michelle (Chris) Peters of New Jersey, Scott (Jennie) of McHenry, Shawn (Brenda) of Lake Villa, and Cari (Paul) Spiller of Lake Villa; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Jennifer, Erin, Heather, Dylan, Dana, and Brandon; his great grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Steven and Alyssa; his brother, Roger (Maxine) Hoffmann of Harwood Heights and sister, Sis Dekker of Carmel, IL. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn.
Funeral services will be 10 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2001, at Ringa Funeral Home, 122 S. Rt. 83, Lake Villa, IL 60046, with Rev. James Merold officiating. Interment will be at Hillside cemetery, Antioch, IL. Visitation will be on Friday, From 4 until 8 PM and Saturday from 9 AM until the time of service.

Barbara J. Horne
Barbara J. Horne, 61, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away at her home on Thursday, September 5, 2001.
She was bone in Chicago, IL on December 31, 1939, the daughter of the late Josephine and Raymond Gramza. She lived on the Northwest side of Chicago before moving to Elmwood Park, IL, and then to Lindenhurst in 1965. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School for girls and attended DePaul University. In addition to being a homemaker, she retired from Abbott Laboratories after 23 years of service. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Clayton) Spragg of Plainfield, IL; and her grandsons, Warren and John.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 from RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Rt. 83, Lake Villa, IL, 60046 to Prince of Peace Church for an 11 AM Funeral Mass. Private interment will be at St. Adalbert cemetery, Niles, IL. Visitation will be on Tuesday morning, from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
