Mary E. Lapapa
Mary E. Lapapa, 87, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, September 3, 2004 at victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. She was born February 12, 1917 in Ashland, Wisconsin and has been a Waukegan resident for 65 years. Mary was a member of St. Dismas Church, St. Dismas Women's Club, The Sweet Adelines and was a self-employed Beautician in Waukegan for over 25 years.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank Lapapa; children, Vince Lapapa of Waukegan and Donna (Tim) Levandoski of Waukegan; grandchildren, Cindy Levandoski of Waukegan, Kristen Levandoski of Gurnee, John (Maggie) Levandoski of Newport Beach, CA and Tim (Carin) Levandoski of Chicago. Mary is also survived by her great grandchildren, Alyssa and Bianca Levandoski-Torres of Gurnee; sister, Jean Tenuta of Jensen Beach, FL; many nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Geraldine Williams and Theresa Chichon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bertha (nee Andersen) Olson; and brothers, Edward, John and Robert Olson.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at St. Dismas Church, 2226 McAree Rd., Waukegan with Fr. John Ryan officiating. Entombment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Friends may call at the church from 9 AM until time of Mass on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Dismas Church, 2226 McAree Rd., Waukegan, IL, 60087 or to the Waukegan Public Library, 128 N. County St., Waukegan, IL, 60085.
Arrangements are under the direction of PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan.

Margaret Littlejohn
Margaret Littlejohn, 81, of Waukegan passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2004 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan. She was born October 8, 1921 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Margaret was a nurse at Victory Memorial Hospital for 35 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Littlejohn of Waukegan and Judy Davis of Zion;grandchildren, Marcus (Kimberly) Anderson and Tara Anderson both of Zion; brothers, Gene Meyer of Brookfield, WI and Robert Meyer of Waukesha, WI; sisters, Frances Sonquist of Kenosha and Lorraine Fjelstad of Monona, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald James Littlejohn; and parents, Adam and Frances Meyer.
Funeral Services will be private at the PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan on Wednesday, September 8, 2004. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago.

Francisco B. Lopez
Francisco B. Lopez, 95, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, September 3, 2004 at home. He was born October 4, 1910 in Mexico and has been a resident of Waukegan for 12 years. Francisco was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Onesima Lopez; children, Salustio Lopez, Tomas (Maria C.) Lopez and Maria Luisa (Juan) Barrera all of Waukegan; 21 grandchildren; and 41 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Constantina Lopez and Tayde Hernandez; a brother, Eubsevio Hernandez; and many nieces and nephews, all of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Hernandez and Irene Lopez.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the First Baptist Church, 401 N. Genesee St., Waukegan from 6 to 9 PM. Interment will be in Mexico.
Arrangements are under the direction of PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan.

Gary D. Pirie, Sr.
Gary D. Pirie, Sr., 73, of McHenry, IL passed away Friday, September 3, 2004 at his home. He was born December 7, 1930 in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late William and Pearl (Lewis) Pirie. He had lived in Ingleside for 35 years before moving to McHenry in 2003. In 1993, he retired after 30 years as a truck driver with McHenry Truck Lines and was a member of the Teamsters Local #705. Gary also worked as a bartender at the Stop Inn in Spring Grove and the Riz in Fox Lake. His special interests included bowling, hunting, fishing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include four children, Gary Jr. of Port Richey, FL, Monique Konecny of Lombard, IL, Rodney of Fox Lake, IL and Lee Trevithick of Ingleside, IL. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Shawn, Nicole, Daren, Adam, Alyssa, Shelby, Shannon and Dusten.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St., (Rt. 83), Antioch, IL. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville. Visitation will be held from 10 AM Wednesday until time of services.

Alex W. Schroeder
Alex W. Schroeder, 78, of Twin Lakes, WI passed away Sunday, September 5, 2004 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born February 2, 1926 in Chicago, where he lived for most of his life, retiring to Twin Lakes in 1985. Alex was a lift truck parts salesman and a former employee of the Intrupa Corp. in Grayslake.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Helen (nee Chepes) Schroeder; his daughter, Deborah (John) Mayer of Lindenhurst; and son, Alex (Donna) Schroeder Jr. of Tinley Park; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Deena and Alex III; and a brother, Charles Schroeder of Paxton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Freida Schroeder; and by his son, Jeffrey.
Private services are being held from the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

Barbara Schultze
Barbara Schultze, 81, a Lake Bluff, IL resident for the past three years, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2004 at the Pebblebrook Healthcare Center in Lake Bluff. She was born November 28, 1922 in Waltham, MA, was a former resident of Lexington, Sudbury and Newton, MA, retiring to Safety Harbor, FL for 18 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sudbury and a former employee of Sears Roebuck and Company.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas (Diane) Schultze of Gurnee and Richard (Barbara) Schultze of South Grafton, MA; two grandchildren, Deirdre and Lori Ann Schultze; three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Christian and America Lynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Lena Lenzi; by her husband, Alfred on January 21, 2003; and by a sister, Pauline; and brother,Phillip.
Services will be held at 7 PM Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave (Rt. 176), Libertyville. Interment will be on Thursday at the Lakeside cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday.

Franklin C. Stanley
Franklin C. Stanley, 20, a former resident of Mundelein, IL passed away suddenly Friday, September 3, 2004 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Grundy County, IL. He was born November 19, 1983 in Portsmouth, VA, was a former resident of South Carolina, living in Lake County for the past 10 years. He was a 2002 graduate of Mundelein High School, where he was a cheerleader and active with the show choir and theatre. Frank was currently a junior at Illinois State University in Normal, where he was also on the cheerleading squad. He was a member of the Crossroads Church in Grayslake, where he was an active member of the youth group and had participated in three overseas mission trips.
Surviving are his fiancee, Stephanie Willding of Chicago; his parents, Julie Stanley of Brownsburg, IN and Michael (Christina) Stanley of Ladson, SC; his brother, William of Brownsburg; grandmother, Lillie Smith of Iuka, MS; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his 10 year old brother, Nathan in 1996.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 8th at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave (Rt. 176), Libertyville. Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem cemetery in Elmhurst. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 PM on Tuesday.

Julia I. Bennett
Julia I. Bennett, a resident of Libertyville for 56 years, died peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the Evangelical Home of Saline, MI. Julia was born in Waukegan on March 31, 1918 and was 84 years old when she died. She had moved to the Ann Arbor area two years ago to be near her daughter and family.
She was the beloved wife of Orville Dean Bennett and the dear sister of Harold Beck (Clara) both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Loni and son-in-law Leonard Lutter of Ann Arbor. She was the loving grandmother to their three children; Matthew of Washington D.C., Karin of Claryville, NY and Marcus of Pittsburgh, PA.
Julia was employed by the Chicago Title and Trust Company of Illinois and retired in 1980 after 42 years of service. She and her husband "Bud" enjoyed 12 years of retirement together, traveling and seeing their grandchildren often. She was first a member of the Trinity United Lutheran Church of Waukegan and later, with her husband, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Libertyville.
Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery in Libertyville with a graveside ceremony on Monday, September 16, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

John L. Bruce
John L. Bruce, 57, of Waukegan, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2002 at his home. He was born July 13, 1945 in Waukegan. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for the U.S. Army in Ft. Sheridan, IL as a maintenance mechanic. The love of his life were his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Salmon fisherman with many special fishing friends.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy (nee Bruno) Bruce whom he married on February 12, 1966 in Aiken, SC; three children, Michael (Patricia) Bruce, Joanne (Saul) Castro and Lottie Gibbons-McGill; five grandchildren Jonathan Draper, Samantha Draper, Katherine Bruce, Kelly Bruce and Anastasia McGill; three sisters Charlene, Linda (Bill) and Ann; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lorraine Bruce.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2002 at North Point Marina, South Beach, Winthrop Harbor. Burial will be private. Arrangements by MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN.

Theodore "Teddy" Coroneos
Theodore "Teddy" Coroneos, 51, of Waukegan, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 in Lafayette, IN.
He was born May 11, 1951 in Waukegan and remained a lifelong area resident.
He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Waukegan. Teddy was a long time business owner in North Chicago for over 30 years. He contributed to the community by serving free meals on Football Sundays, holidays and special events at his place of business and was a baseball coach for 10 years for Waukegan youth baseball Assn. including two years as president of the colt league. He was a member and past president of the Lake County Tavern Owners Assn. and a member of the North Chicago Lions Club. Teddy's passions included gardening, cooking and music. He played the trumpet in the T-Town Toupe.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Holly Coroneos of Waukegan; son, Jason (Kristen) Coroneos of Zion; daughter, Janelle (Aaron) Temples of Duluth, Georgia; and his mother, Olga Coroneos of Libertyville. He is proceeded in death by his father, John "JC" Coroneos.
Visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2002 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson & Patch Funeral Home 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan. Trisayon services will be at 7:30 p.m. with Fr. John Sardis officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ruth E. Goranson
Ruth E. Goranson, 80, formerly of Libertyville, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2002 from complications after suffering a stroke in Florida Hospital Heartland, in Sebring, FL. She was born May 13, 1922 in Chicago and lived most of her life in the Chicago area. She was a 30 year Libertyville resident, lived in Gurnee for 8 years and in Avon Park, FL since 1999. Prior to moving to Libertyville in 1960, Ruth had lived in Chicago, Bay Village, Ohio and Frankfort, Germany. She was a graduate of Senn High School and was a generous, loving mother, grandmother and career homemaker. She was also a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Libertyville.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Ralph E. Goranson, whom she married in 1945 upon his return from WW II; 5 children, Robert (Valerie) Goranson of Libertyville, Jeffery (Pat) Goranson of West Peoria, Sally (Jim) Dunn of Carpentersville, Nancy Goranson of Fond du Lac, WI and Carol (Anson) Mount of Algonquin, IL; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; her sister Helen Seefeldt of Des Plaines; sister-in-law, Marion Hauschild of Gurnee and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Beatrice Hauschild, her brothers Edward and Richard and grandson, Craig Michael Dunn.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Assn., P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio, 44720. Arrangements are by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

Zelia E. Griessler
Zelia E. Griessler, 93, of Lake Villa, IL passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2002 at the Community Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Naperville, IL.
She was born in France on February 23, 1909, the daughter of the late Clemance and Ernest Thery. She came to the United States in 1913, and settled in Livingston, IL. She was a resident of Lake Villa for over twenty years. Prior to that she lived in Round Lake. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa. She also was an active member of the Round Lake Senior Center. She enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, baking, square dancing and playing cards. She traveled extensively throughout the world.
She is survived by her children, Joseph (Arlene) Griessler of Batavia, IL and Janet Doucette of Antioch, IL; her grandchildren, Joseph, Suzanne, Glen, Pamela, Robin, Ronald, Roxanne, David, Deborah, John and Danielle; 21 great grandchildren; her sisters and brother, Ernestine Czechowski, Clemance Du Bart, and Louis Thery; several nieces and nephews, and a community of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, on October 6, 1974, her daughter, Evelyn Schultz, and sister and brother, Eugenie Frey, and Ernest Thery.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 7, 2002 from RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Rt. 83, Lake Villa, IL 60046, to Prince of Peace Church for a 10 AM Funeral Mass. Interment private. Visitation will be on Friday, 4-8 PM and Saturday 9 AM until the time of service. Memorials appreciated to the Pagets Foundation and may be sent directly to the Funeral Home.
