Ruth E. Goranson
Ruth E. Goranson, 80, formerly of Libertyville, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2002 from complications after suffering a stroke in Florida Hospital Heartland, in Sebring, FL. She was born May 13, 1922 in Chicago and lived most of her life in the Chicago area. She was a 30 year Libertyville resident, lived in Gurnee for 8 years and in Avon Park, FL since 1999. Prior to moving to Libertyville in 1960, Ruth has lived in Chicago, Bay Village, Ohio and Frankfort, Germany. She was a graduate of Senn High School and was a generous, loving mother, grandmother and career homemaker. She was also a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Libertyville.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Ralph E. Goranson, whom she married in 1945 upon his return from WW II; 5 children, Robert (Valerie) Goranson of Libertyville, Jeffery (Pat) Goranson of West Peoria, Sally (Jim) Dunn of Carpentersville, Nancy Goranson of Fond du Lac, WI and Carol (Anson) Mount of Algonquin, IL; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; her sister Helen Seefeldt of Des Plaines, sister-in-law, Marion Hauschild of Gurnee and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Beatrice Hauschild, her brothers Edward and Richard and grandson, Craig Michael Dunn.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Interment will be in Arlington National cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of services on Sunday. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Assn. in her memory.

Penny Clark Greene
Penny Clark Greene, 82, of Waukegan, Illinois answered the call of Jesus on October 9, 2002 at the Highland Park Hospital. She was born in Alligator, Mississippi on December 7, 1919 to the union of the late Howard and Pennie Clark. Mrs. Greene moved to Waukegan during 1944 and joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her passing. She was a member of the Hanna Circle and served with the "Soup Kitchen" Ministry.
Mrs. Greene is survived by two sons, Harold (Michelle) Lloyd and Ronald Clark, Sr; four daughters, Lorna Gully and Debra Clark of Waukegan, Kemba Maish (aka Carol Clark) of Washington, D.C., Shelly Kim (Bobby) Hollingsworth of Pensacola, FL; a loyal daughter-in-law, Louise Lloyd; two loving nephews, Calvin Williams and Tommy Davis; a niece, Joann Jones; 18 grandchildren, David O'Bryant, Angela Clark, Lafontain "PJ" Walker, Jr, Jessie, Jr, George, Hope and Felice Gully, Troyce (James) Williams, Bryan (Courtney), Bruce (Amy), Barry (Leslie) Lloyd, Manuel, Kim and Ronald Clark, Jr, Courtney and Adrienne Nicole Young, Tanika and Romel Finley; 40 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; several loyal and devoted dear friends in "Christ" including Elaine and Irwin Bailey, Annie Turner, Bertha Harbor, Reverend Robert B. Evans, Sr, Mae Benton, Rosie Griffin, Gladys Hicks, Annie Squires, Lubertha Parks, Ethel and William Peete, Pastor Walstone Francis, Cassandra Brooks and Janie Satterwhite.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Greene, Sr, her parents, Howard and Pennie Clark; five sisters, Drucilla Davis, Mattie Canedy, Olivia Ball, Ethel Smith and Ann Irving.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, October 14, 2002 at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL. Pastor Walstone Francis, Officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park cemetery, Zion, IL. Visitation will begin at 10 AM at the Church. Betty (Elizabeth) J. Hauser
Betty (Elizabeth) J. Hauser, nee Carey, beloved wife of the late Jim; loving mother of Jim (Kalah) Hauser, Sue (Curt) Glissendorf, Jack Hauser, Mary (Dennis) Clapp, Bill (Michele) Hauser, Jane (Jon) Ulfsrud; loving Nana to fifteen cherished grandchildren; dear sister of the late Jack Carey, Alice (the late Jim) Ricca, the late Bob (the late Jane) Carey, Bill (Frances) Carey, Lyd (the late Bill) Walker; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2002 at St. Gilbert Church, 301 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake. Burial will be in Ascenstion cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd.

Delores Herrmann
Delores Faye Borden Herrmann peacefully went to live forever with her Savior and Lord on October 9, 2002, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Zion, Illinois.
She was born March 22, 1934 to the late Warren A. and Dorothy E. Borden and was a faithful and lifelong member of Christ Community Church. She was known as Dee to her friends and worked as a Secretary at Zion-Benton Township High School before she retired.
Delores is survived by three of her children Deborah (nee Whiteside) (Ken) Goronson, Mark (Carol) Whiteside and Scott (Irma) Whiteside all of Zion; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one sister Barbara Chase of Highland Park, Illinois; and two brothers Wayne Borden of Sun City, Arizona and Richard Borden of Oceanside, California. She was preceded to eternal life by her daughter Lisa Whiteside Petrosky. Delores was loved by all her family and many friends. She was a woman of deep faith and prayer, trusting God and knowing of His love, care and saving grace. Her cheerful smile and heartfelt laugh endeared her to everyone she met. While she will be deeply missed by all, we rejoice in her heavenly reunion with her daughter Lisa and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Rev. Ken Langley of Christ Community Church officiating, with private cremation to follow. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial donations to celebrate the memory of Delores may be made to either the American Lung Association or Camp Zion Ministries of Christ Community Church.

Iona Juanita (Myers) Horacek
Iona Juanita (Myers) Horacek, 90, passed away on October 1, 2002 at Victory Lakes, Lindenhurst, IL. She was born in Hitchcock County, NE on August 24, 1912 to Angus and Murrell (Ike) Myers. She graduated from McCook High School in 1929 and then from Denver General School of Nursing in 1932. On April 15, 1934 she was united in marriage with Hans John Horacek. She worked at St. Catherine's Hospital then was employed as the school nurse for McCook City schools from 1953 to 1974. In 1970 she was presented the Distinguished Service Award, in recognition of her continuous outstanding contribution to her profession and the community by the Nebraska Nurses Association.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Dale) Sander of North Chicago, IL; grandchildren Kelli Sander of Bartlett, IL, Grant (Loretta) Sander of Los Lunas, NM, and Kurt (Maria) Sander of Berwyn, IL; great grandchildren Angela and William Sander of Berwyn, IL, and Drew and Stephanie Sander of Los Lunas, NM; and one brother Adoir Myers. Her husband Hans J. Horacek, a brother Arden Myers and a sister Lavonna Imel, preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will take place in McCook, NE. A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Annunciation, Gurnee, IL on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN is serving the family locally.

Jean Loire Johnson
Jean Loire Johnson, 72, of Round Lake, died Thursday, October 10, 2002, at her home. She was born August 26, 1930 in Grayslake to Harry and Genoveve (Benning) Hironimus. Formerly of Volo, Mrs. Johnson was a resident of Round Lake for the past 39 years. She owned and operated Jean's Cottage Cafe for six years.
Survivors include her children, Jim Luptak of Round Lake, Debbie Luptak of Round Lake, John (Jill) Luptak of Round Lake, David (Kelly) Luptak of Twin Lakes, Tom (Shelly) Johnson of Round Lake Heights, and Linda Luptak of Round Lake; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Hironimus of Ingleside, and Wesley Hironimus of Wisconsin; two sisters, Marjorie Lock of Volo, and Norma Robinson of Johnsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carol Hironimus, and a brother, James Hironimus.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2002 at JUSTEN'S ROUND LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 222 N. Rosedale Court (at Cedar Lake Road), Round Lake. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at the funeral home, the Rev. Lisle Kauffman officiating. Interment will be in Avon Centre cemetery, Lake Villa. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Y-Me Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Tamikia "Pig" Moore
Tamikia "Pig" Moore, 19, passed away unexpectedly in Chicago, IL on Saturday, October 5, 2002.
Tamikia was baptized at Christian Fellowship Church in 1991. She was also the captain on the Unique Strider Drill Team. She attended Waukegan High School and CLC. She was also a child care assistant and a hair stylist. Tamikia was a young lady who wanted to keep peace with everyone.
She was born March 18, 1983 to Diane Moore and Jimmie Parker.
She leaves her memories with her loving mother Diane Moore and her father Jimmie Parker; 3 sisters, Shaquandra Moore and Tamar Hudson of Waukegan and Mia Shanday of Marion, Alabama; 4 brothers, Anthony Washington, Kendall Moore, Jamal and Jamar Parker, all of Waukegan; a special niece Precious Monae Coffee; 2 grandfathers, Ralph Moore of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Lee Baldwin of North Carolina; 2 great uncles, Ned (Judith) Robinson of Texas and James Moore of Alabama; 2 great aunts, Annie Morgan of Texas and Bettie Robinson of Gurnee; 5 uncles, Richard Moore and Ned Little of Waukegan, Willie and Joenatha of Marion, Alabama and Lovelle Lapsley of Zion, Illinois; 10 aunts, Cheryl Gist of Texas, Angelia Reed of Wisconsin, Denise Moore of Waukegan, Karen Moore of Washington, D.C., Annie Finley and Charlie Mae Kynard of Waukegan, Deloris Parker, Bernice Kynard and Orthia Parks of Alabama; special cousins, Sharon Moore, Clarence Butler, Tasha Stevenson, Felicia Stevenson, and Tanikia Stevenson, all of Waukegan; and special friends, Calvin, Arnakia, Kela, Bruce, Willie and Ms. Ida Harris, all of Waukegan.
Funeral services will be held at Christian Fellowship Church, 621 Belvidere Road at 10:00 a.m., October 12, 2002. Burial at Warren cemetery in Gurnee. WESTGATE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family. (847) 662-8000.

Joseph Ugolini
Joseph Ugolini, age 93, of Highwood passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at the Highland Park Hospital.
Born March 22, 1909 in Bush, Illinois to Antonio and Matilda Ugolini. He has been a resident of Highwood since 1929. He was a member of St. James Church, Highwood and the Highwood Bocce Ball Club. He was the manager of Liebschultz Liquor wholesale and resale, and worked for the Bank of Highwood, and Pasquesi Travel.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Anna L. nee: Malchioni, two sisters-in-law, Elda Ugolini of Highland Park and Mary (Reno) Malchioni of Highwood. One nephew, Dr. Michael (Jennifer) Malchioni of Evansville, Indiana, two nieces, Marcia Grimm of Highwood and Sharon (Dan) Castalani of Schaumburg: seven great-nieces and nephews, Jamie Ugolini of Florida, Scott (Lisa) Grimm of Washington, LeAnn Grimm of Colorado, Michele and Chrysten Castalani of Schaumburg, Benjamin and Alexander Malchioni of Indiana; two great-great nephews, Ryan and Sean Grimm.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Emil and Dr. Bruno Ugolini and one nephew, Eugene Ugolini.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Friends may call on Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the SEGUIN & SYMONDS FUNERAL HOME, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood.

Travis W. Young
Travis W. Young, 83, of Waukegan passed away on Tuesday October 8, 2002 at Highland Park Hospital. He was born February 5, 1919 in Smithville, MS and had been an area resident since 1939. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army, member of Waukegan American Legion Post 281. He was active in the Boy Scouts as an Assistant Scoutmaster, a member of the Thursday morning Bible Study Group. Travis was an avid gardener. He was an automobile salesman for 55 years, working for Spero Motors for many years and retiring from Raymond Olds in Antioch.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (nee Paulsen); son, William Travis (Stephanie) Young of Palatine, IL; 3 grandchildren, Rachel (14), Becca (13) and Jonathan (9); 2 brothers, Kilmer Young of College Park, MD, Dellion (Elvie) Young of Fulton, MS; sister, Bobbie (Pastor John) Johnson of Tupelo, MS; also by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ivy (nee Kennedy) Young and 2 brothers, Grady Young in WW II and Almus Young.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 12, 2002 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1520 N. McAree Rd., Waukegan. Interment will be at Warren cemetery, Gurnee. Friends may call at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday. Donations in Travis Young's memory may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or to the Boy Scouts of America.

Joann Bocock
Joann Bocock, 54, of Waukegan passed away on Monday October 7, 2002 at her home. She was born August 31, 1948 in Chicago and had been a Waukegan resident since 1974. She was a member of Waukegan Foursquare Church and the Waukegan Lions Club. Joann was a Medical Transcriptionist and had worked at St. Therese Hospital for 21 years and for Medquest for 5 years. She was also self employed doing medical transcription at home.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; her sister, Denise (Dominic) Sack of Houston, TX and 2 nephews, Philip and Brian Sack.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 12, 2002 at Shelia Daniels Academy, 2313 Washington St., Waukegan. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Waukegan Lions Club, 12465 Graves, Waukegan, IL 60087, the Foursquare Church building fund, 800 Chestnut St., Waukegan, IL 60085 or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care of PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan.

Jane Ellen Misiek
Jane Ellen Misiek nee Klein, age 67, a Fox Lake resident for over 50 years, died Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at N.I.M.C. in McHenry, IL. She was born on July 13, 1935 to Arthur and Veronica "Tippy" (nee Britz) Klein in Johnsburg, IL. She attended St. John the Baptist School in Johnsburg through sixth grade moving to Fox Lake in 1947. She attended Fox Lake Grade School and graduated with the Grant Community High School Class of 1953. She was employed by the Fox Lake Lumber Co. for 15 years and Westsite Millwork in Gurnee until retiring to raise her family in 1969. She has been an Avon Products Representative since 1983.
She was a faithful member of St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside where she was an active member of their Mother's Club, the P.T.A. and volunteered for over 20 years at the school, holding various offices while her sons attended grade school. She enjoyed reading and crafts, shopping and lunching with friends and caring for others, especially the very young and elderly. Her grandchildren were her delight.
She is survived by her husband Robert V. Misiek Sr. of Fox Lake with whom she was united to in marriage on August 29, 1956 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Spring Grove. She and Bob settled in Fox Lake in 1956 after living in Tennessee to complete Bob's military service; three sons, Robert V. (Patty) Misiek Jr. of Silver Lake, Wisc., Mark A. (Lesley) Misiek of Lindenhurst and Matthew J. Misiek of Fox Lake; her grandchildren, Hannah, Rachel and Robby Misiek of Silver Lake, Wisc., Sydney and Will Misiek of Lindenhurst; her sister Peggy (John) Craver of Spring Grove; her nephews Ken (Kathy) Gardner of Lake Villa, Kevin Craver of Spring Grove and her niece Tricia (Sean) White of Deltona, FL; her great nephews Brett and Danny Gardner and Alex White and by her great niece, Lauren White; her brother in law Windy Gardner of Florida and by many aunts, cousins, other relatives as well as a host of friends survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Patricia "Pat" Gardner and an infant brother and sister Kenneth Arthur and Catherine Klein.
Friends of the family may call from 3 - 8 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2002 at K.K. HAMSHER FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake (in the Chapel on the Lake). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday at St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside. Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic cemetery in Johnsburg.
