Larry D. Myers, Sr.
Larry D. Myers, Sr., 68, of Olney, IL passed away Sunday, March 17, 2002 at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, IL. He was born June 23, 1933 in Oblong, IL to Darrold L. and Augusta L. (Bayne) Myers.
He was united in marriage to Gwendolyn E. "Gwen" (Bright) Metcalf on June 28, 1956. He retired on June 30, 1998 as a Tool & Diemaker at Cherry Electric in Waukegan, IL. He was a member of the Oblong First Christian Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Gwendolyn E. "Gwen" Myers, of Olney, IL; three sons, Larry D. (Dianna) Myers, Jr. of Lake Villa, Garry D. (Sharon) Myers of Richland, MS and Danny L. (Shelly) Myers of Zion, IL; one daughter, Debra (Tom) Bogaert of Mishawaka, IN; three step-children, Richard (Deb) Metcalf of Delavan, WI, Robert Metcalf of Waukegan, IL and Laura (Bill) Longmire of Wildwood, IL; one sister, Betty Sue (Benny) Bohannon of Marietta, GA; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL. After the Service, Mr. Myers body will be cremated and his remains will be buried in Oblong cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday adn until the time of Service on Wednesday.

Katherine S. Niemeyer
Katherine S. Niemeyer, 91, of Hawthorn Lakes in Vernon Hills formerly a longtime resident of Lake Forest, died March 18, 2002.
Resident of Hawthorn Lakes in Vernon Hills since 1994, formerly of Lake Forest for 60 years. Born in Gilby, North Dakota on May 31, 1910. She was a registered nurse and worked as the nurse for the Lake Forest Elementary School District serving Deer Path School and St. Mary School. Received her nurses training at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan in the 1930s. Former volunteer at Lake Forest Hospital, assisted in the establishing of "The Cellar" program at Gorton School and member of the Church of St. Mary in Lake Forest.
preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George L. Niemeyer (1989). Mother of George (the late Mary Jo) Niemeyer of Clarendon Hills and the late Mary Simonson. Grandmother of Paul Simonson, Douglas (Melissa) Niemeyer, Daniel Niemeyer and Susan (John) Fagan. Great-grandmother of Matthew Niemeyer. Sister of Jean Stewart of Waukegan. Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Ronald A. Preder
Ronald A. Preder, 47, of Waukegan died March 19, 2002 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born November 11, 1954 in Waukegan. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Ron was an Auto Mechanic by trade at Walt &Dan;'s Shell for many years and was an avid Motorcyclist. He was survived a sister, Debbie (Maurice) Lab of Zion; a brother, Don (Debbie) Preder Kenosha, WI; several nieces and nephews. Preceded by her father John Preder October, 21, 2001.
Funeral services at 10:00 a.m. March 22, 2002 at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Kevin S. Purnell
Kevin Scott Purnell, age 26, of Round Lake, entered peacefully into eternal life with God on March 17, 2002. He was born May 15, 1975, and will be forever loved and remembered by his wife, Heather Kroski; parents Tom and Mary; brothers Shawn, Tom and Mark; sister Anne; grandparents Tom and Ann Chamberlain; and many other relatives and close friends. His gentle, loving spirit will be greatly missed.
Burial was private. A memorial service will be held at Faith Baptist Church of Lake County, 954 E. Brae Loch Road, Grayslake, Illinois, at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24. Wayne R. von Allmen
Wayne R. von Allmen, 67, of Gurnee, IL, passed away suddenly Monday, March 18, 2002 at the Provena St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan. He was born February 11, 1935 in Detroit, MI, was a former resident of Libertyville and has lived in Heather Ridge for the past 11 years. He was a member of St. Lawrence Episcopal Church in Libertyville and was formerly active with the Boy Scouts and coaching the girls traveling soccer teams. Before his retirement, Wayne had been an account executive with Communico, Inc. in Des Plaines.
Surviving are his wife Donna (nee Ruf) von Allmen of Gurnee; 2 children, Chris (Kathryn) von Allmen and Amy (Peter) Kwak, both of Wildwood; 3 grandchildren, Kurtis, Jacob and Alexandria Kwak; his sister Lois (Robert) Payne of Grosse Pointe, MI; and 3 brothers, Burl von Allmen of Boyne City, MI, Norman (Betty) von Allmen of Murrysville, PA and David von Allmen of Harper Woods, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Werner and Nora von Allmen.

Douglas H. White, PhD.
Douglas H. White, PhD., 72, of Vernon Hills, IL, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 16, 2002 at his home. He was born August 26, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska and had been a resident of Vernon Hills for the past 26 years. He was a graduate of the University of Omaha, received his masters degree from the University of Nebraska and his PhD from the University of Chicago. Dr. White had been an English Professor at Loyola University in Chicago for 30 years.
Surviving are his son Matthew (Juliana) White and granddaughter Eileen White, all of Glenview; a nephew Philip Rooney of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Iva White, by his wife Sarah in 1998 and by a brother Jim and sister Jean.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Lorraine I. Worth
Lorraine I. Worth, 73, of Waukegan, passed away Monday, March 18, 2002 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 21, 1928 in Waukegan and was a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where she loved devoting her time and service, and was also a member of the Women of St. Mark's.
Survivors include her 3 children, William H. (Alison) Worth of Gurnee, Susan (Dennis) Bollinger of Gurnee and Richard (Shelley) Worth of Waukegan; 5 grandchildren, John, Christy, Lindsay, Jessica and Payton; 2 sisters, Lucille (Robert) Creason of Toledo, OH and Audrey (Jack) Herberger of Waukegan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband William F. Worth, her parents and a brother, Donald O'Hare.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday March 22, 2002 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 3350 Delany Rd., Waukegan with Rev. Jeff Koth officiating. Burial will be at North Shore Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. Marija Zebich
Marija Zebich, 74, of Vernon Hills, IL passed away, Sunday, March 17, 2002 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born November 27, 1927 in Preloka, Slovenia. During WWII escaped to live in Italy in 1942. She came to live in the United States in 1950 and was a former resident of Chicago and Berwyn. Marija attended St. Mary of Vernon Parish, was a former election judge in Berwyn and a board member of the Friends and Family of Howe Association.
Surviving are two children, Steven (Pam) Zebich of Vernon Hills and Maryann Zebich of Tinley Park; her brother, Louis (Boyanna) Flajnik of North Aurora; and three sisters, Angela (Franco) Artioli of Italy, Barbara Wilson and Frances (Jerry) McNally, both of Prescott, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Zebich in 1985; an infant son, Joseph; two sisters; and two brothers.
Prayers will begin at 10:15 a.m. Friday, March 22 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave (Rt. 176) Libertyville and services will continue to St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church in Indian Creek for funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at The Most Holy Mother of God cemetery in Third Lake. Joseph C. Calcese
Joseph C. Calcese, 61, of Fox Lake passed away Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
Born May 10, 1940 in Chicago, the son of the late Charles Calcese and Rose Russo. A resident of Fox Lake the past year and a half, formerly of Chicago. Joseph had been self-employed as a Carpenter and Contractor most of his life.
He leaves his wife, JoAnne (nee Lombardo) whom he wed on June 7, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters, Samantha (Louie) D'Acquisto of Spring Grove, Candace (Brian) Opon of McHenry; a son, Joseph Calcese of Fox Lake; three grandchildren, Cristy Calcese, Taylor and Cassie D'Acquisto; sisters, Grace Calcese of Round Lake Beach and Barbara Calcese of Grayslake; and a brother, Charles (Cindy) Calcese of Mundelein.
He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Calcese and grandson Joseph Calcese.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at the STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL, 60030 with the Fr. Robert Beaven officiating. Interment will be privately held. Friends of the family may visit at the funeral chapel on Tuesday evening from 5 to 9 PM.

James Michael Canelakes
James Michael Canelakes, 52, of Beach Park, IL, died March 17, 2002 in Waukegan.
He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a graduate of Southern Illinois University. He had been a History and Civic Teacher at Waukegan High School. Jim loved baseball and had played softball in various leagues in Waukegan. At one time he had hitchhiked through Europe.
He is survived by his wife, Tammie; a son, Peter Canalakes of Waukegan; three step children, Crystal, Natasha and James; his parents, Tom adn Kathryn Canelakes af Waukegan; a brother, Tony (Linda) Canelakes of Sarasota, FL; a nephew, Tom Canelakes; a niece, Amanda Canelakes Ewing; and two great nephews, Nicholas and Anthony.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Canalakes.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002 at March Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd. Father John Sardis officiating.
Interment North shore Garden of Memories. Visitation from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday. Trisagion Service 7 p.m. Wednesday at funeral home.

Dorothy Canzoneri
Dorothy Canzoneri, 77, of Long Grove, IL, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2002 at her home. She was born March 5, 1925 in McCrory, Arkansas, was a former resident of Norridge and a Long Grove resident for the past 32 years.
Dorothy was a former volunteer at the Marytown/Kolbe Shrine in Libertyville and Santa Maria del Popolo School in Mundelein.
Surviving is her husband, Joseph Canzoneri; three children, John (Diana) Canzoneri of Glenview, Joanne Jasenovec of Libertyville and Joseph (Jenifer) Canzoneri of Mundelein; seven grandchildren, John, Suzanne, Thomas, Natalie, Nina, Ashley and Jenna.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Della Chaney; two brothers and; four sisters.
Payers will begin at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, March 21 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville and services will continue to Santa Maria del Popolo Church in Mundelein for Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. James M. Drake
James M. Drake, 74, of Libertyville, IL passed away suddenly Saturday, March 16, 2002 at his home. He was born November 6, 1927 in Libertyville, where he remained a resident all his life.
He was a 1946 graduate of Libertyville Township High School and was a US Army Veteran, having served in Japan following World War II. Jim was a member of the Libertyville VFW Post #8741 and a retired employee of the Frank G. Hough Co.-International Harvester Corp. in Libertyville. Following retirement he enjoyed life as a ranger at Pine Meadows Golf Club in Mundelein.
Surviving are his wife Delores "Dee" Drake; two children, Timothy (Mary) Drake of Gages Lake and Pamela (Tom) Schmidt of Wildwood; four grandchildren, Randy, Danny, Derek and David; and one sister, Anna Mae Mors of Libertyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Anna (nee Kunke) Drake, by his brothers, John and Howard Drake and Walter and Henry Kuehl and his sisters, Marge, Fran, Agnes and Betty.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, with Deacon Robert Matthews of St. Joseph Parish, officiating. Mika Patrick Hurley
Mika Patrick Hurley, 21 of Wadsworth, Illinois, passed away on March 16, 2002 at Provena-St. Therese Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mika was born December 30, 1980 in Highland Park, Illinois and was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Waukegan and the Stick & Rudder Flying Club.
He was currently a Junior at Columbia College in Chicago majoring in film making. He also loved to assemble mechanical sculptures.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas Hurley of South Miami, FL and Pam Hurley of Wadsworth, IL; a sister, Morgan Hurley of Wadsworth; an uncle, Richard (Linda) Dahl of Minneapolis, MN; an aunt Pat (Tim) MacAvoy of Mundelein, IL, as well as several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Yorkhouse & Delaney Rd., Waukegan with Rev. Jeffrey Koth officiating. Interment will be private.
Friends may call at the MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd., from 6-9PM Tuesday only.

Lillian Cecelia Schloneger
Lillian Cecelia Schloneger, 78, of Wildwood passed away Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Born April 21, 1923 in Chicago the daughter of the late Emil Kardosh and Susan Kadela.
She leaves her son: Robert Schoneger of Wildwood; daughter: Susan (John) Skorniak of North Aurora and Mildred Vesely of Wildwood. Granddaughter: Kimberly "Tiger" Skorniak of Chicago and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Jack Schloneger.
Funeral Services and Interment will be privately held. Memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Lake County, 626 Ash St., Waukegan, IL 60085.

Phyllis F. Schultz
Phyllis F. Schultz, of Gurnee, born in 1926, the daughter of Leon and Gladys Fritz, she returned to the Lord on March 15, 2002.
Phyllis "Nanny" Schultz was employed with Catholic Charities as a Senior Aide, most recently at the Cool Food Pantry in Waukegan. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Waukegan and thoroughly enjoyed music, choir and long lasting friendships.
Surviving are her daughter, Vicki Brown (George) of Fitch, TX; grandchildren, Brenda Holder, David Koepke (Aurora, Natalie Koepke, Christopher Kratovil; great grandchildren, Jesse and Lena; her loving niece, Judy Petika (Mike); and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Doris Mathewson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the first Baptist Church with services starting at 10:00 AM Wednesday.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 20, 2002 in the First Baptist Church, 401 N. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL. Interment will be in North Shore Garden of Memories cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the church and Wednesday, March 20 from 9:30 AM until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be given to the First Baptist Church in her name.
