Maryann Sager, 70, of Gurnee passed away Tuesday October 8, 2002 at Provena St. Therese Medical Center. She was born January 17, 1932 in St. Paul, MN and had been an area resident for 2 years.
She is survived by her husband, Russell J. Sager; children, Maryann Swanson, Sheila Waele, Patrick Sager, Daniel Sager, Kevin Sager, Russell Sager, Jr., Bridget West and Bernadette Waltz; 11 grandchildren; 3 brothers and 1 sisters.
Services and interment will be in St. Paul, Minnesota. Arrangements under the care of PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan.

Joe Henry Vaughn
Joe Henry Vaughn, 59, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the Pinnacle Nursing Home in North Chicago, IL.
He was born on April 11, 1943 in Florence, Alabama to Robert Vaughn and the late Freddie Ruth Vaughn nee Rowell. Joe settled in North Chicago in 1961 with his then wife Joyce Wade-Vaughn and to this union four children were born. Joe worked several jobs including OMC, Smelters and his most recent job at TeePee Food and Liquors before his failing health.
He is survived by his loving father Robert (Rene) Vaughn, three daughters, Yolanda (Brian) Colbert, Sr. of Waukegan, IL., Joslyn Vaughn of Louisville, KY., Michelynn (Ahmet) Demir of Lake Geneva, WI., one loving step-daughter, Selena Graham of North Chicago, IL. Three sons, Andre Vaughn of Lake Geneva, IL., Joseph Vaughn, Jr., LaBraun Vaughn of North Chicago, IL. 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. two sisters, Violene (George) Scott of Florence, AL., Ruth (Samuel) Barnett of Florence, AL. Two brothers, James (Francis) Vaughn of Nashville, TN., Louis (Betty) Vaughn of Tuscumbia, AL. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, one special cousin (Michael Johnson) and dear co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Freddie Ruth Vaughn nee Rowell, a son Robert Joe Vaughn (affectionately known as Baby Joe), a brother Robert Earl Vaughn, maternal and paternal grandparents, two aunts and five uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2002 at the BRADSHAW AND RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. (847)662-3553.

Wilma Jean "Jeanelle" Johnson Gomillia Buchanan
Wilma Jean "Jeanelle" Johnson Gomillia Buchanan, 47, passed away unexpectedly in Zion, IL on Wednesday, October 2, 2002
She was born in Twist, Arkansas on June 10, 1955 to Delores and the late Lonnie Charles Johnson.
She is survived by her mother, Delores Johnson of Chicago, IL; three children; Alicia Marie Gomillia, Kenneth Devon Gomillia and Valencia Caprice Gomillia; she is also survived by many loving friends and family members including two very special friends, Lakeitha Rothwell and Shaquieta Almond.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at the BRADSHAW & RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. (847)662-3553. A Funeral Service will be held at the St. Benedict the African-West Church, 7033 S. Honore Ave., Chicago, IL at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 10, 2002, Rev. David R. Straub officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at St. Mary's cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.

Leonard "Lenny" J. Dobner
Leonard "Lenny" J. Dobner, 81, of Bon Air Home, Stephens City, VA, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2002 at his home. He was born January 4, 1921 in Wauconda, IL to John Dobner and Mae Dietz Dobner. He worked as a budget analyst for the federal government, retiring in 1972. He was a member of St. Michaels Church of Annandale, VA and the National VFW. He served during WWII in the U.S. Army. On July 17, 1943, in Cook County, IL he married Clarice Mae Matteoni who died on December 27, 1999.
Survivors include a daughter Denise Dobner Vickery of Herndon, VA; a sister Ruth Franz of Camarillo, CA; a granddaughter Kelly Mae Vickery of Herndon, VA; and a grandson Aubrey John Vickery of Herndon, VA.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2002 at Arlington National cemetery in Arlington, VA with full military honors at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions to Herndon Optimist Club Youth Baseball, P.O. Box 1771, Herndon, VA 20172. Arrangements are being handled by JONES FUNERAL HOME.

Wayne Edward Groot
Wayne Edward Groot, 51, passed away September 23, 2002 in Tampa, Florida. He was born July 2, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois and lived most of his life in Waukegan, Illinois. He was a former employee of Great Lakes Naval Center in North Chicago, Illinois.
Surviving are his parents Robert and Ruby Groot; brothers Robert Groot, Jr., Dale Groot, and Gary Groot; niece Stephanie Groot; nephews Hunter Groot and Hayden Groot.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2002 in Kenosha, Wisconsin at the Kemper Center Chapel, 6501 3rd Ave., Kenosha, WI from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Family will receive friends after the service at the home of Gary Groot, 936 92nd Pl., Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Dorothy F. Halas
Dorothy F. Halas, 78, of Waukegan, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2002 at her home. She was born May 27, 1924 in Waukegan and was a member of Trinity United Lutheran Church. Dorothy did volunteer work in numerous political campaigns as well as with the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. Her love of live theater performances motivated her long involvement with the Friends of the Historic Genesee Theatre. She was employed at American Can Company and Deepfreeze before devoting her life to her family as a stay-at-home mom and homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Debra Halas of Waukegan, Pamela (Douglas) Freeman of Zion and Douglas (Launa) Halas of Waukegan, and a granddaughter, Sarah Halas, also of Waukegan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, in 1982, her parents Vanner and Mildred Setterman, and a brother Van Setterman.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2002 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan. Burial will be in Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Earl L. Hanlin
Earl L. Hanlin, 81, died October 5, 2002, in Mountain Home, AR. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 18, 2002, at First Baptist Church in Mountain Home.
He was a lineman for the Bell Telephone Company for over 28 years in Waukegan. He is survived by his wife Margie Hanlin; 1 son, Earl D. Hanlin of Bristol, WI; 1 daughter, Betty Jo Leafblad of Wadsworth, IL; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or First Baptist Church. Arrangements by Roller Funeral Home.

Marilynne Neville
Marilynne Neville, 62, of Mundelein, died October 6, 2002 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born December 3, 1939 in Chicago and had been a Libertyville resident for the past 35 years. Mrs. Neville had worked in the emergency room at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for many years and was a member of St. Mary Vernon Parish.
She is survived by her daughters Colleen (Patrick) Murphy of Trevor, WI, Phyllis (Robert) Santi of Libertyville and Joanne (Daniel Jr.) Karas of Mundelein; her grandchildren, Kathleen, Shannon and Ryan Murphy, Elyse, Elizabeth and Christopher Santi, and Mary Ellen Karas; her brother Edward Kane of Glen Ellyn; her sister Verlene (Bob) Walsh of Barrington. She was preceded in death by her husband William in 1998.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2002 from MCMURROUGH CHAPEL, 101 Park Pl., Libertyville to St. Mary of Vernon Church (Rt. 45 one block west of Butterfield Rd., Indian Creek (847) 362-1005). Mass is at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. If desired, memorials requested to The American Cancer Society. Martin F. Sisolak
Martin F. Sisolak, 87, died Monday at Parkview Memorial Hospital. Born in North Chicago, IL, he was an accounting clerk at U.S. Steel for 40 years and retired in 1979. He served as treasurer and board member of the Waukegan Works Federal Credit Union for 31 years. He was a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in North Chicago for 25 years, the Boy Scouts at the American Legion, a volunteer at St. Anastasia Church and school, bingo and P.A.D.S. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Martin was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie of Fort Wayne; son, Dennis of Bel Air, MD; two daughters, Marilyn Manzer of Fort Wayne and Maureen Miller of Cincinnati, OH; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sister, Millie Somasko of North Chicago; brother, Joseph of Waukegan, IL. preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Magdalena; two sisters, Helen Mountcastle and Anna Cvik; brother, Frank.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday with calling one hour prior at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd. Arrangements by D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd. Graveside services 1 p.m. Saturday at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville, IL. Memorials to Society of the Holy Child Jesus.

Joseph Ugolini
Joseph Ugolini, age 93, of Highwood passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at the Highland Park Hospital.
Born March 22, 1909 in Bush, Illinois to Antonio and Matilda Ugolini. He has been a resident of Highwood since 1929. He was a member of St. James Church, Highwood and the Highwood Bocce Ball Club. He was the manager of Liebschultz Liquor wholesale and resale, and worked for the Bank of Highwood, and Pasquesi Travel.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Anna L. nee: Malchioni, two sisters-in-law, Elda Ugolini of Highland Park and Mary (Reno) Malchioni of Highwood. One nephew, Dr. Michael (Jennifer) Malchioni of Evansville, Indiana, two nieces, Marcia Grimm of Highwood and Sharon (Dan) Castalani of Schaumburg: five great-nieces and nephews, Jamie Ugolini of Florida, Scott (Lisa) Grimm of Washington, LeAnn Grimm of Colorado, Michele and Chrysten Castalani of Schaumburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Emil and Dr. Bruno Ugolini and one nephew, Eugene Ugolini.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Friends may call on Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the SEGUIN & SYMONDS FUNERAL HOME, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood.

Norita E. Adler
Norita E. Adler, 65, of Gurnee, IL passed away October 6, 2004. She was born February 13, 1939 in Granton, WI and was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church.
Survived by daughter Amy West and grandchildren Nicholas Adler, Alexander West, three sisters, one brother.
preceded in death by her husband Norman J. Adler, her son Jay Norman Adler and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Schmidtke.
Funeral Mass will take place at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee on Monday, October 11 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Ascension cemetery. Visitation at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 305 cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL on Sunday, October 10 from 5-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the North Shore.

Mary L. Duben
Mary L. Duben, 86, of Waukegan passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Zion.
She was born on August 23, 1918 and has been a resident of Waukegan since 1944.
Mary retired from Abbott Laboratories after 30 years of service.
She is survived by her sons, James W. (Sue) Smith of Wadsworth, Martin R. Smith of Walnut Cove, NC; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Joseph Duben; sisters, Ernestine McNichols and Lillian Braun.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, October 11, 2004 at the Peterson & Patch Funeral Home 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan. Entombment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 am to time of service.
