Alice Ebbole
Alice Ebbole, 71, of Antioch, formerly of Libertyville, died Wednesday, November 26 at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. She was born December 30, 1931 in Chicago and had been a resident of Libertyville for over 15 years.
Mrs. Ebbole had been a member of St. Joseph Parish, Libertyville and the Guild of the B.V.M. Her love of children earned her the affectionate titles of "Gala" and "The World's Best Cook."She is survived by her children, George (Liz) Ebbole of Addison and Victoria "Vicki" (Jeff) Rundle of Antioch; her grandchildren, Caroline, Tom and Patrick Ebbole, and Maxwell and Zachery Rundle; and her sisters, Olga (Floyd) Miller and Rosemarie (Al) Pakosta.
Mrs. Ebbole was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; and her brothers, George (Marcella) and William Salak.
Funeral services will be 9:30 AM Tuesday, December 2 from McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, to St. Joseph Church, 121 East Maple St., Libertyville for Mass at 10 AM. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery Libertyville. Visitation Monday, December 1 from 3 to 8:30 PM at the funeral chapel.

Alice M. Fitzpatrick
Alice M. Fitzpatrick, age 85, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2003 at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest IL.
She was a 50-year resident of Grayslake and a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church.
Alice is survived by her husband, Bill Fitzpatrick Sr.; her children, Marie Shepherd, William T. (Betty) Fitzpatrick Jr., and Tom (Mary) Fitzpatrick; her grandchildren, Lisa (Lenzic) Heaton, James Shepherd, Shannon (John) Jackson, and Ryan Fitzpatrick; her great grandchildren, Lauren and Lynsey Shepherd, Grace Lincomccome, and Andrew and Emma Jackson.
Her parents, Leslie and Alice Pain, preceded her in death.
A funeral mass will be privately held on Monday at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 310 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL. Friends of the family may visit on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, LTD., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030 between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Marilyn K. Hankinson
Marilyn K. Hankinson, 57, of Zion died on Thursday, November 27, 2003 at her home following a long illness. She was born May 18, 1946 in Centralia, Illinois and has lived in Zion since 1976.
She received her B.A. Degree from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas, and she was a member of Bonnie Brook Baptist Church of Beach Park. Marilyn also served as a foster mother with Central Baptist Children's Services and she owned and operated Grandma-Had-One antiques. She was also a member of Northern Lake County Quilters Guild (NLCQG), Illinois Quilters, Inc (IQI) and she was a founding Board Member of Missions Afield, an organization sponsoring missionaries abroad. She was also well known ad an AWANA cook and she was a past Girl Scout Leader.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, George; four children, Dennis Hankinson of Zion, Tonya (Matthew) Harris of Nettleton, Mississippi, Jenny Hankinson of Livingston, Montana and Daniel (Jennifer) Hankinson of Forest Park, Illinois; four grandchildren, Matthew Harris, Andi Hankinson and Luke and Timothy Harris; her mother, Emily Bernadean Cleveland of Fridley, Minnesota; and three brothers, Gorver (Sheryl) Cleveland of Fridley, Minnesota, Larry (Ruth Ann) Cleveland of Abilene, Texas and Gregory (Janet) Cleveland of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her father, Grover Henry Cleveland.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at 5 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Scott Harrison of Bonnie Brook Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be on Monday, December 1, 2003 at 11 AM at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 PM until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial donations to Missions Afield (Fund of Paul Mbondi), or African Leadership (Fund of Paul Manyara) have been suggested. 847-746-1234.

Gabrielle C. Kozuch-Caswell
Gabrielle C. Kozuch-Caswell, suddenly. Beloved wife of Lawrence T. Caswell. Devoted daughter of Roberta C. Kozuch and Timothy O. Schultz. Memorial visitation Saturday, December 6 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. Roger L. Kurtz
Roger L. Kurtz, 66, of Winthrop Harbor died on Thursday, November 27, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan.
Roger was born November 21, 1937 in Waukegan. He attended Lake Forest College and he was employed by American Can Corporation. He was also a Volunteer on Winthrop Harbor Fire Department, was past Secretary of Long Island, New York Lions Club and was Past Governor of Zion-Benton Moose.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra J. (nee McCoy), whom he married in 1961 in Waukegan; a daughter, Korine L. (David) Custer; a grandchild, Cameron J. Custer; a sister, Charlot Miller; and three nieces; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Darl E. and Rhoda B. Kurtz; and by a sister, Violet Papesh.
Services will be private. There will be no visitation. The family wishes th thank everyone who has Roger and his family in their thoughts and prayers. CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, is serving the family. 847-746-1234.

Virginia Miller
Virginia Miller, 82, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, November 28, 2003 at her home. She was born September 28, 1921 in Long Beach, CA and had been a Waukegan area resident for many years. She was a member of St. Dismas Parish and Women's Club, Virginia was also an avid Cubs fan and an expert in her hobby of Needlework, She was also active in square dancing and round dancing for 30 years. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at George Insurance Agency in Waukegan.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Miller; sister-in-law, Lois Ranney of Austin, TX; and many nieces.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave, Waukegan with Fr. John Ryan officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9 AM until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund established in her memory.

Margaret Elizabeth Sandy
Margaret Elizabeth Sandy of Green Oaks, Libertyville, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at Condell on November 26. She left us peacefully, lovingly held by her family.
She was born on February 9 in Wrights, IL, and had been a resident of Libertyville since 1951. Before her retirement she was office manager of Lake County Highway Dept., Libertyville. Margaret was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Leah Circle and Waukegan Glee Club. Margaret loved her family, enjoyed bridge with her many friends, and playing Skipbo with her granddaughters.
Surviving are her son, Harry Sandy of Waukegan; her daughter, Karen Sandy (Ernest) Emery; three granddaughters, Sara, Elizabeth, and Katharine, all of Round Lake Heights; her sister, Eileen (Mack) Duncan of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Edward (Dorothy) DeLong of Waukegan; and brother and sister-in-law, Dr. & Mrs. John (Jeanne) Marks of Aurora.
A memorial service will be held at her home in Green Oaks for friends and family on November 30 from Noon to 3 PM.

Carl A. Daavittila
Carl A. Daavittila, 68, of Wadsworth, Illinois died on Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion.
Carl was born August 17, 1936 in Zion, son of the late Hugo and Vera Daavittila. He married Mary J. Hakasaari on May 30, 1959 in Calumet, Michigan. Carl retired in August of 1992 after 37 years at Commonwealth Edison and was a member of First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Zion.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Mary Jean; three sons, Reid (Sue) Daavittila of Brighton, Michigan, Mark (Colleen) Daavittila of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and Brian Daavittila of Kenosha, Wisconsin; five daughters, Cindy (Timo) Impola of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Karen (Phil) Skoog of Long Lake, Minnesota, Janel (Jim) Ryynanen of Cokato, Minnesota, Diana (John) Halonen of Delono, Minnesota and Kara (Matt) Scheck of Delano, Minnesota; 55 grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Verna) Daavittila of Brighton, Michigan and Donald (Charlotte) Daavittila of Houghton, Michigan; six sisters, Virginia (Tom) Heinonen of Trenary, Michigan, Helen Pietila of New Hudson, Michigan, Carol Jurmu of Laurium, Michigan, Ruth Davison of Seattle, Washington, Dorothy (Leonard) Stang of Winthrop Harbor and Susan (Paul) Wittenberg of Seattle; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 30, 2004 from 5 to 9 PM at First Apostolic Lutheran Church, 39372 N. Carol Lane, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 10 AM at the church with Pastor James Torola officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Charles C. Duley
Charles C. Duley, 75 died November 25, 2004. He was born on December 10, 1928 in Smithland, Kentucky and grew up in Southern Illinois. He later moved to the North Chicago and Waukegan area in 1950, where he resided until his death. He worked for the Department of Defense at Fort Sheridan, Illinois for 38 years until his retirement in 1987.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ellen; four children, Nancy (Julius) Cullen, Pamela Montes, Michael (Pamela) Duley and Sandra Crews; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; an aunt, Lois Moss; a cousin, Alvernice Tolbet; brothers-in-law, Floyd (Mildred) Rouse, Raymond (Roberta) Rouse; sisters-in-law, Naomi Coleman and Gertrude Chavis; nieces; nephews; many many dear friends; and his favorite pet dog, Bubba.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the BRADSHAW & RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road in Waukegan, IL. 847-662-3553.

Margaret I. Fisher
Margaret I. Fisher, 92, of Zion, Terrace North, died Saturday, November 27, 2004. She was born September 12, 1912, the youngest of nine children.
Margaret came to Waukegan at 16 years of age to live with her sister. married Saunders Fisher, who died October 6, 1963. Margaret liked to baby-sit and help out in the nursery at St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was a member. She will be remembered for her wit and humor during the last three years at Terrace North. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and having her friends, especially Audrey and Margie.
Margaret is survived by her niece, Jeanette Schroeder and other nieces and nephews; her godchild, Jill Jensen; and special friends, Marilyn (Jack) Kutzler and family, Florence (Bob) Johnson and her friends at St. Paul's.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 11 AM. North Shore of Memories. Visitation Tuesday, November 30, 10 AM until time of services. Memorials donations to St. Jude's Children's Research or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Guadalupe Guerra
Guadalupe Guerra, infant daughter of Noel Guerra and Maribel Morales of Mundelein passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Also surviving are her sister, Giselle; and grandparents, David and Andrea Morales and Ramon and Raquel Guerra, all of Mundelein.
Services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, November 30 in the chapel at Ascension cemetery. Arrangements are by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville. .

Charlene J. Jakubisin (nee Tiernan)
Charlene J. Jakubisin, 76, of Waukegan, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2004 at St. Therese Hospital. She was born November 21, 1928 in Waukegan.
Member of Immaculate Conception Church, Navy Fleet Reserve Auxiliary, Immaculate Conception Altar and Rosary, National Catholic Order of Foresters.
She is survived by six children, Gayle (Richard) Warner, Daniel (Char Nowman) Jakubisin, Donald (Diana) Jakubisin, Ronald Jakubisin, Patrick (Joy Bethman) Jakubisin, Phillip Jakubisin; five grandchildren, Logan, Nicholas, Michael, Kyle and Matthew Jakubisin; two great grandchildren, Zoe and Alexander Jakubisin; one brother, Paul (Patricia) Tiernan; one sister, Maralee Robinson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas L. Jakubisin; one son, Gregory A. Jakubisin; three grandchildren; her parents, Leo and Margaret (nee Wait) Tiernan; one brother, Gerald L. Tiernan.
Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 508 Grand Ave., Waukegan with Father Frank Plotka officiating. Visitation 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan, IL.
