Barbara Jean Kennedy Palo
Barbara Jean Kennedy Palo, age 74, of Indianapolis, IN, died November 4, 2003 following a long term heart condition.
She was born February 27, 1929 in Waukegan, IL, and resided in Wadsworth until her marriage to Robert Palo in 1950.
Barbara and Bob resided in Waukegan until they retired to Cherokee Village, Arkansas in 1988. Barbara moved to Indianapolis in 1999.
She is survived by sons, Thomas Palo of New York, Dan Palo of Indianapolis, IN; three daughters, Jane Spychala of Trevor, WI, Nancy Moore of Indianapolis, IN, and Kathy Irvine of Arvada, CO; one brother, William Kennedy of Rochester, NY; and six grandchildren.
Private services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Ascension cemetery.

Margaret Ann "Meg" Platta
Margaret Ann "Meg" Platta, 81, of Zion died on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. She was born October 6, 1922 in Delafield, Wisconsin. On August 2, 1940, she married Aelred V. J. Platta and he preceded her in death in 1999. Meg was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be missed.
Survivors include her children, Victor (Patricia) Platta on Mandeville, Louisiana, Sandra (Steven) Adams of Bloomington, Illinois, David (Vicky) Platta of Columbus, Georgia and Dana Platta of Fairbanks, Alaska; grandchildren, Michael (Kristin) Platta, Stephen Platta, SuzAnne (Stacy) Smithson, Katie (Ben) Hart, Geoffrey Platta and Andrew Platta; great grandchildren, Alex and Audrey Platta and Riley and Cooper Smithson; a brother, Owen A. Jones of Yakima, Washington; a sister, Mary (Robert) Smith of Edmonds, Washington; and ten nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Aelred, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Arthur Platta; two sisters, Florence Cornell and Ellen Scornavacco; and her parents, William R. and Margaret D. Jones.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at 11 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will follow at North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. Visitation will be Friday, November 14th form 6 until 8 PM at the Congdon Funeral Home. Memorial donations to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital have been suggested. 847-746-1234.

Pearl Ruth Rundquist
Pearl Ruth Rundquist, a 60-year resident of Franklin Park, died November 10 after a short illness. Mrs. Rundquist was born in Waukegan, Illinois in 1919. She was the daughter of Delbert and Esther Haugebrauck.
Pearl married Walter Rundquist in 1939, and they moved to Franklin Park in 1943. There they raised a family of five. In addition, Pearl worked at Rogge's gift shop and as a secretary at Gladstone Realty and later at Leyden High School. She was a member of the Franklin Park Women's Club for over 50 years. She also enjoyed painting.
Pearl Rundquist is survived by her five children, Kenneth living in Sleepy Hollow, IL, Kathleen living on Hilton Head Island, SC, Linda living with her husband Hugo Parr in Nittedal, Norway, Larry living in Anchorage, AK, and Vicki living in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and her three grandsons, Erik, Jan Walter and Leif Ragnar. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Seymour Wilson, her two brothers, Cliff Brauck (Ruth) and Cal Haugebrauck (Sammye); and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to: Save-A-Pet Adoption Center, 31664 N. Fairfield Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030.

Elaine C. Wattman
Elaine C. Wattman, 92, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at the Libertyville Manor. She was born July 15, 1911 in Chicago and had been a Libertyville resident for the past seven years. She was a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston and following college was employed at the Art Institute in Chicago. She later enlisted in the US Army and served her country for 26 years. Elaine retired from the Pentagon as a master sergeant and moved to Libertyville from Arlington, VA in 1996.
Surviving are her sister, Amy Wattman of Libertyville; her cousin, Signa Molnaire of Inverness, FL, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Wattman.
Private services for her family are being held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in McHenry. Inurnment will follow in the church Columbarium. Arrangements are by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

Lillian A. Dennis
Lillian A. Dennis, 76, of Libertyville, IL passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at the Brentwood North Nursing Center in Riverwoods. She was born January 19, 1927 in Evanston, IL, was a former resident of Park Ridge, living in Libertyville for the past 16 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville and the Guild of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Lillian received her associates degree from Northwestern University and retired as the manager of order processing at the Bradford Exchange in Niles in 1993.
Surviving are two sons, Howard (Sandra) Dennis of Denham Springs, LA and James (Joan) Dennis of Vernon Hills; and a sister, Virginia Tyler of Mt. Prospect.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dennis on June 26, 2001.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176), Libertyville, with the wake service beginning at 7 PM. The family would like friends to meet at St. Joseph Church on Friday for a Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, #146, Des Plaines, IL, 60018. .

Florence M. Esp
Florence M. Esp, 88, of Gurnee passed away Sunday, November 9, 2003 at home. She was born April 29, 1915 in Auburndale, WI.
She was a very active member of St. Dismas Catholic Church and a volunteer at Winchester House.
Survived by seven sons, Robert (Roberta) of Lindenhurst, Richard (Wendy) of Lake Forest David (Peggy) of Spring Grove, Ronald of Tampa Bay, FL, Chuck (Sally) of Kenosha, James (Diane) of Lansing, MI and John (Nancy) of Wadsworth; grandmother of 20; great grandmother of 16; two sisters, Mary Koller of Madison, WI and Elizabeth Fahey of Edgar, WI; two brothers, Norbert (Joyce) Koller of Madison, WI and Richard (Connie) Koller of Denver, CO; and many nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Koller; and a sister, Rita (Jerry) Heinzen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM at St. Dismas Catholic Church, 2600 Sunset Ave, Waukegan, IL Saturday, November 15, 2003 with Father John Ryan officiating. Interment Ascension cemetery, Libertyville.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Friday and 9:30 to 10:30 Saturday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL.

Harold R. Francke
Harold R. "Slim" Francke, 74, of Mukwonago, WI, died Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at his home. He was born August 1, 1929 in Waukegan, IL, to William and Bertha (nee Kunke) Francke. He spent his early life and was educated in Waukegan. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On November 20, 1986 he was united in marriage to Charlene Matson in Hawaii. Harold was a line foreman for Com Ed and belonged to the I.B.E.W. Union. He was a member of Lutheran Evangelical Church in Antioch, IL.
Harold was a loving husband, father and grandfather and dear friend. He was kind and caring and well loved by everyone he met. He will be truly missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Francke of Mukwonago, WI; children, William (Diane) Francke and Cindy (Dennis) DeBoer, both of Antioch, IL, and Bret (Tina) Francke of Mukwonago; seven grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Dana, Rachel, Carrie, Corey and Mary; two great grandsons, Jared and Andrew DeBoer; and brother, Donald (Darlene) Francke of Hot Springs, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Randi; grandchildren, Brandon and Katie Lynn; sister, Loraine Francke; and brother, William Francke.
Family services will be held at a later date.

Irene Keys
Irene Keys, 73, of Waukegan, IL, died Saturday, November 8, 2002 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 14, 1930 in Alexandria, LA.
She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3109 Gilead Ave, Zion, IL and a Deaconess of the church. She was a foster mother for a host of foster children and family members, too.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Keys; daughters, Ethel (Sammie) Renix, Jcyekki (Aurther) Williams, Pheliar (Alton); son, Charles L. (Tiana) Keys; grandchildren, Gregory and Rodney Renix; great grandchildren, Godwin, Irene, Jerome, Alex, Quanda and Nathan; a host of close cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ophelia Jordan; her father, Anderson Boston; and many other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 12 Noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3109 Gilead Ave, Zion, IL with Pastor John McBride officiating. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Michael H. Newman
Michael H. Newman, 28, of Libertyville died November 12, 2003 at home after an extended battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Born May 9, 1975 in Middletown, NY, Michael had lived in Libertyville since 1987.
He had attended NIU where he was a communications major. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Libertyville and the Knights of the Foot of the Cross at Marytown.
He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Mary Lou, his sisters, Mary (Jeff) Kerestury of Chicago and Deborah (Shawn) Jennsen of CA and his grandmothers, Katherine Tobias and Jan Spitz.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-8:30 p.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Prayers will be offered Saturday morning at 9:30 at the funeral chapel. Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple St., Libertyville. Interment will follow the Mass at Ascension cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations are requested to either Marytown, 1600 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, IL 60048 or to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 100 Lexington Dr., Suite 210, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089.

Johanne M. Reinier
Johanne M. Reinier, 73, of Zion died on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at home. She was born December 12, 1929 in Germany, came to the U.S. in 1959, settled in Zion in 1963 and retired from food service at Abbott's.
Survivors include two sons, Frank (Paula) Reinier of Zion and Glenn (Diane) Reinier of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren Manya, Andre and Eric Reinier; two great-grandchildren Prism and Link Reinier; and one brother Hans-Erich Kirchgessner of Germany. She was preceded in death by one brother Wilhelm Kirchgessner and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Monday, November 17, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. (847) 746-1234.

Richard F. Streicher
Richard F. Streicher, 70, of Wildwood, IL passed away Saturday, November 8, 2003 in Kindred Hospital, Northlake, IL. He was born March 29, 1933 in Chicago, IL. He was a retired truck driver for Meyer Material and a member of Local 301.
Survivors include his daughter, Katherine Rautio; brothers and sisters; his mother, Roseanna Streicher; and granddaughters, Andrea and Kristin Rautio.
preceded in death by his father; three brothers; his wife, Nancy Streicher; his son, Ricky Streicher; and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 8 PM November 13, 2003 in the MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 305 cemetery Rd, Gurnee with Pastor T.M. Carroll officiating.
