Rosemary Preder, 85, of Waukegan, IL, passed away June 10, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born April 26, 1919 in Highland, WI.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was retired from Victory Hospital as a telephone operator after 19 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Debra (Maurice) Lab; one son, Donald Preder; three grandchildren, Sarah Preder, Derek Preder and Shannon Preder; one sister, Marjorie Backus; one brother, Dr. Donald (Connie) Cody; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Preder; one son, Ronald A. Preder; four sisters, Shirley Tollefson, Jean Sanders, Patricia Cody and Gladys Sippy; her parents, Sherman and Marquerite Cody.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday in the MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd and Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, 508 Grand Ave, Waukegna, IL. Interment will take place in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of one's choice.

Marilyn Jane Skrzyniarz
Marilyn Jane Skrzyniarz, 70, formerly of Gurnee, passed away Monday, June 14, 2004 in Waukegan. She was born October 12, 1933 to Kenneth and Jane (nee Turner) Hubbard in Elgin, Illinois. Marilyn was a founding member of the Living Well United Methodist Church in Gurnee since 1996.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly (Richard) Snyder of Round Lake Beach; her aunt, Virginia Flentge of Elgin; and a cousin, Carol Tucker also of Elgin.
Her husband, Harry Skrzyniarz and aforementioned parents precede her in death.
Friends of the family may visit on Friday, June 18, 2004 from 6 to 8 PM at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, Illinois, 60030. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 10 AM, also at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow at Resurrection cemetery in Justice, Illinois, meeting at 1 PM. Rayford Talbert Jr.
Rayford Talbert Jr., 46, of Temple, TX passed away Thursday, June 10, 2004 at home. He was born December 14, 1957 in Chicago, IL. He was a resident of Waukegan, IL for many years. In 1996, he became a resident of Temple, TX. He accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of Eighth Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Talbert; his mother, Walterine Talbert-Johnson; father, Rayford Talbert.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Talbert; two daughters, Angel Bledsoe (Norrellis Bledsoe) of Gurnee and Kelly Talbert of Temple, TX; one son, Shelton Talbert of New York; a loving grandson, Deparis Bledsoe of Gurnee; his grandmother, Rodella Talbert of Mississippi; three sisters, Laura Talbert, Robin Talbert of Waukegan and Carolyn Talbert of Round Lake; four brothers, Eddie Collins of Waukegan, Michael Talbert of Chicago, Kenneth Talbert of Temple, TX and Eric Talbert of Mississippi; his step father, Nolen Johnson of Chicago; an uncle, E.W. Scott of Waukegan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and close friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Greater Faith Baptist Church, 565 Powell Ave, Waukegan, IL. Visitation is from 12 to 1 PM and the services will be at 1 PM with Rev. C.L. Fairchild, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be private.

Irene Fay Bratzke
Irene Fay Bratzke, 69, of Gurnee passed away at her home on June 11, 2003. She was born in Grayslake on January 17, 1934, the daughter of the late Walter and Vera Stang (nee Porteous). She worked as a secretary for Abbott Laboratories, and also a secretary for Warren Township High School in Gurnee. Irene was an avid bowler and known for her beautiful gardens.
She is survived by her children, Diane (Tom) Edwards of Waukegan; Barbara Bratzke of Gurnee; and Bob (Mari) Bratzke of Gurnee; her four grandchildren, Rebekah (Cris) Chingwa of Waukegan; Joseph Edwards of Waukegan; and Jamie and Nathaniel Bratzke of Gurnee; her three brothers, Walter Stang of Grayslake; Lester (Mary) Stang of Grayslake; and George Stang of Round Lake; and her two sisters, Dolores Butenschoen of Grayslake; and Evelyn (Ron) Munts of Grayslake.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her son, James R. Bratzke; her sister Ruth Ann Stang; her brother Bud Stang; and her loving husband, Robert C. Bratzke.
Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, LTD., 410 East Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will follow at Warren cemetery in Gurnee. William Glen Bush
William Glen Bush, 90, of North Chicago, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at the Winchester House, Libertyville. He was born May 13, 1913 in Swede Home, Nebraska and grew up on a farm in Nebraska and later moved to Illinois and worked as a fireman in Galesburg, IL. After World War II he came to Great Lakes where he was a fireman until he retired in 1973, attaining the rank of Captain. He was also a member of Queen of Peace Church, North Chicago. Bill enjoyed driving for the seniors of North Chicago and also volunteered for the North Chicago Fire Department.
Bill is survived by his step son, Henry "Hank" (Terry) Moss of Grayslake and step daughter, Delores Moss of Mesa, AZ and his children, James Bush, Martha Blocker, Glenda Lafrenz and Beverly Simms. A close granddaughter Kay (Michael) Kenny and family of Chicago, IL, three step grandchildren, Cindy (Frank) Schwab, Kevin (Robin) Moss and Marie Adolphs; six step great grandchildren; and a brother Delbert Bush of Peoria, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary (nee Stolarick) on January 19, 1996, his parents Glen and Martha and three brothers, Merle, Marvin and John.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 14, 2003 at THE SALATA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 729-14th St., North Chicago, IL with Rev. James E. Merold officiating. Burial will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville, IL.

Orrin William Craft, Sr.
Orrin William Craft, Sr., age 84, of E. Hillcrest Ave., Orlando, Florida died of natural causes on May 22, 2003 in Orlando. Mr. Craft was born in Lake Villa, Illinois. He graduated from Antioch High School, Antioch, IL in 1936. He was married to Dorothy Marie (Wasion) Craft in Waukegan, IL. He was a retired tool grinder for V.R. Wesson in North Chicago, IL. For over 20 years Mr. Craft was a member of the Lakeshore Tabernacle in Kenosha, WI. His hobbies included carpentry and furniture upholstery.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, son, Keith Craft of Orlando, FL, daughters, Sandra (Glen) Halverson of Clermont, FL, Debra (Robert) Peterson of Kenosha, WI and Rebecca Mullman of Barrington, IL, brother, Chester Craft of Reedley, CA, sisters, Nellie (Fred) Griffin of Gurnee, IL, Doris (Everette) Harris of Wadsworth, IL and Lois (Howard) Brompton of Tucson, AZ, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Ethel Craft, a son, Orrin William Craft, Jr., and brothers, Harland and Donald Craft.

Edward M. Devine, Jr.
Edward M. Devine, Jr., 63, of Libertyville, died June 9, 2003 at Kindred Chicago-North Lake, IL. He was born August 6, 1939 in Chicago, the son of the late Edward and Margaret Devine. Mr. Devine had retired from Abbott Laboratories as a Biochemist after 35 years of dedicated scientific research. He had been a 37 year resident of Libertyville. He was a graduate of Nixa High School in Nixa, MO where he had served as president of the FFA. Mr. Devine had earned his B.A. and Master's Degree in Biochemistry from Roosevelt University. He was an avid fan of baseball and enjoyed gardening and the beauty that it brought to his home.
He is survived by his wife Constance (nee Nation) of 40 years; a daughter Cathleen M. (Thomas) Rasnic of Elmhurst; a son Brian C. (Karen Kambara) of Portland, OR; and his grandchildren Lucas, Kirsten and Sammy Rasnic.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 14, 2003 at MCMURROUGH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Interment at Ascension cemetery. Visitation is on Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Info: (847) 362-2626

Lydia "Lottie" Mayfield Johnson
Lydia "Lottie" Mayfield Johnson, 92, of Waukegan passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at Pavilion of Waukegan Nursing Home.
She was born May 27, 1911 in Maysville, Georgia but has resided in the North Chicago/Waukegan area since 1922. She retired from Great Lakes Naval Training Center after more than 30 years of service and was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church of North Chicago for more than 50 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband of 54 years, Anderson Johnson; a brother-in-law, Connie D. Johnson of Waukegan, IL; a Goddaughter, Kathy Norwood of North Chicago, IL; many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and Mt. Sinai Church Family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Asberry and Cornelia Mayfield; sisters, Idella Hunter, Etta Shepard and Lucille Sellers; brothers, Postel, Boyd and Estey Mayfield.
Funeral Services will be at 11 AM Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 2401 Argonne Dr., North Chicago, IL with Rev. Gerald Wilcoxon, Pastor and Rev. Floyd Rouse officiating. Clennon E. Moore
Clennon E. Moore, 51, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Thursday June 5, 2003 at home. He was born in Pineville, Louisiana in 1952 to Robert Lee and Cordia Moore. He was a graduate from Mary Graham High in Colfax, Louisiana. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. In 1988 he was united in marriage to Darlene Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Darlene Moore; two stepsons, Jauaka Starkey and Donte Bridgeman both of Waukegan; his mother, Cordia Moore of Colfax, LA; five brothers, Robert (Sally Ann) Moore Jr., Henry E. Leotis, Henry V. Moore and Johnell (Sheila) Moore; three sisters-in-law, Mary Hunt of Atlanta, GA, Doris C. Moore and Kim (Eric) Pierce both of Waukegan; 19 nephews; 23 nieces; and two special cousins, Galvester Jones and Dianna Moore. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Moore; and a mother-in-law, Katie Moore.

Michele Moretti
Michele Moretti, 82, of Highland Park passed away at his Monday, June 9, 2003 in his garden, doing what he loved, gardening. He was born June 28, 1920 in Valanzano, Bari, Italy and came to the United States at the age of 17. He has been a resident of Highland Park and Highwood since 1946 and was the owner of Mikes Shoes, Highland Park.
Survivors include his children, Luke (Sandy) Moretti of Northbrook, Angelo (Linda) Moretti of Madison, Al, Theresa (Michael) Symmers of Aurora, Michael (Marian) Moretti of Salem, WI, Mario (Shirley) Moretti of Addison and Andrew (Debbie) Moretti of Bellevue, WA; 11 grandchildren, Michael (Tracy) Moretti of Bollingbrook, John (Jennifer) Moretti of San Diego, CA, Christopher Moretti of Ann Arbor, MI, Joseph and Tony Moretti of Madison, AL, James and Kathleen Symmers of Aurora, Nicole, Michael Jr. and Anthony Moretti of Salem, WI and Angelina Moretti of Bellevue, WA; and a brother, Anthony (Nancy) Moretti of Highwood. He is preceded in death by his wife, Angelina on September 5, 1997; and a brother, Andre Moretti.

Ruth C. Rouse
A Memorial service for Ruth C. Rouse, 99, of Bluffton, OH, formerly of Mundelein, IL, will be held at the Community Protestant Church in Mundelein at 11 AM Monday, June 16, 2003. A Private family graveside service will be held at Diamond Lake cemetery with Reverend Ken Press and Reverend Edwin Stefan officiating.
She passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at her residence. She was born July 28, 1903 to James and Katheryn (Halsey) Sorenson in Neenah, WI. She married Delbert Rouse on July 28, 1931 and he died in August of 1988.
Mrs. Rouse is survived two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Kathryn) Stefan of Findlay and Mrs. Benjamin (Roberta A.) Lamb of Great Falls, MT; six granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by her five sisters; two brothers; and a great grandson.
She was a member of the Community Protestant Church in Mundelein, IL and of the Dorcas Circle. Mrs. Rouse was a schoolteacher beginning her career in a one-room schoolhouse in Wisconsin where she taught for three years. She moved to Mundelein in 1924 to teach in the elementary school and taught at the Lincoln School until 1931. She returned to the Mundelein school system to teach Kindergarten in 1953. She retired in 1965, having taught for 22 years, 19 of them in the Mundelein Elementary system. A former member of the liberty-Fremont Library Board, she was active in church and community affairs. The family will also be commemorating Mrs. Rouse's (Nana) life and celebrating the reorganization of her 100th birthday in July.

Donald L. Stateler
Donald L. Stateler, 73, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Wednesday June 11, 2003 at the Condell Medical Center. He was born December 16, 1929 in Manitowoc, WI, was raised in Waukegan and has lived in Libertyville since 1961. He was a 1947 graduate of Waukegan High School, later becoming a meteorologist in the U.S. Air Force. Don was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Libertyville and retired in 1992 after 35 years in labor relations with Illinois Bell in Chicago.
He was the beloved husband of 52 years of Dolores "Dee" (nee Horning) Stateler; loving father of Donald "Rock" Stateler of Waukegan and Debbie (Bob) Bernsee of Libertyville; loving grandfather of Mark Stateler, Aubrey, Shannon and Andrew Bernsee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ruby Stateler.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 14 at the Evangelical Free Church, Austin and Garfield Avenues, Libertyville. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services at the church. A graveside service for his family will be held on Friday at North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. Eugene P. Zannini
Eugene P. Zannini, 87, of Hayden Lake, Idaho, and formerly of Waukegan and Antioch, passed away on Monday June 9, 2003. He was born February 26, 1916 in Chicago, IL and came to Waukegan in 1936, later moving to Antioch. He was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan and St Peters Church in Antioch. He had also belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Ducks Unlimited, Antioch Rotary Club and Lions Club. His family had operated the Chateau Restaurant in Waukegan for many years, he later operated Webb's Boat Marina in Antioch until moving to Idaho in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen (nee Keller); children, Teddy (Lonny) Marchant of Alexandria, VA, Bobby Pelfrey of Fairview Heights, IL, Cathie (Fred) Carruba of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Jeanne Norton of Lindenhurst, IL, Julie (John) Ukich of Hayden Lakes, ID, Joellen (Jim) Kasten of Minneapolis, MN and Butch (Julie) Zannini of Grand Rapids, MI; 24 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, his brother, Dr. John Zannini of Lake Forest, IL and sister, Mary (Lawrence "Monk") Ferry of Waukegan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Clementina (nee Pardi) Zannini.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday June 17, 2003 at Immaculate Conception Church, Grand Ave. and West St. Waukegan. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Friends may call at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday. In lieu of flowers donations, in Eugene Zannini's memory, may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Caroline M. Dye
Caroline M. Dye, 64, of Antioch, IL passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. She was born October 3, 1938 in Hopkinton, Iowa, the daughter of the late Audrey Earl and Clara (Fonck) Jones, living in Chicago, Wonder Lake and Fox Lake, IL before moving to Antioch in 1967. She was an assembler for Motorola before her retirement. On June 22, 1957, she married Paul E. Dye in Wonder Lake, IL.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; her children, Julie (Doug) Lindom and Matt Dye both of Antioch and Mike (Shelly) Dye of Paddock Lake, WI; two sisters, Mary Jones of Washington State and Audrey (Tom) Walker of Wonder Lake, IL; and six grandchildren, Christopher, Eugene, Robert, Steven, Mallory and Paul Edward. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas; and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, June 16, 2003 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). Interment will be in Christ the King cemetery, Wonder Lake, IL. Armin W. Massin
Armin W. Massin, 86, of Libertyville, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 8, 2003 at his home. He was born August 6, 1916 in Glencoe, was a former resident of Highland Park and has lived in Libertyville for the past 27 years. He was a 1934 graduate of New Trier High School and attended Northwestern University in Evanston. Armin was very athletic, enjoyed golfing, won a pair of silver skates and was preparing for the Olympics as a speedskater when World War II changed his life.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the Highland Park Legion Post. Before his retirement, Armin owned and operated the Skokie Valley T.V. in Skokie and following retirement worked in the Pro Shop and as a golf instructor at the Northshore Country Club in Glencoe. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Libertyville, was a Lake County Republican Election Judge, a member of the Libertyville-Mundelein Garden Club and the Skokie Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are his wife Marguerite Massin of Libertyville; his daughter Linda (John) Ebersohl of Chatham, IL; two grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Ebersohl of Chatham and Kirsten Ebersohl of Springfield; great granddaughter Alexis; his sister Helen Palma of California and step children, Diane (Don) Turner, Marlene (Colin Brummet) Krein and David Stecki.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Fri. June 13 at Grace Lutheran Church, 501 Valley Park Drive, Libertyville. Interment will follow a luncheon at the church at Memorial Park in Skokie. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lakeside cemetery Veterans Memorial Fund, P.O. Michele Moretti, 82, of Highland Park passed away at his Monday, June 9, 2003 in his garden, doing what he loved, gardening. James "Big Mo" Moses was born on October 9, 1969 in Waukegan, IL. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age. James attended Jefferson Middle School and Waukegan East High School. James departed his life on June 8, 2003 at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, IL.

Moses Jr., Douglas Moses, Devaughn Brown, all of Waukegan, IL, and Jeff Moses of Brandon, FL; two aunts, Helen (James) Kynard of Waukegan, IL and Lillie Thomas of Gardena, CA; four uncles, John (Birdie) Bracey of North Chicago, IL, Phillip Bracey of Waukegan, IL, Mims O'Dell Brown of Jackson, MS and Serphien Bracey of Jackson, MS; nineteen nieces; nine nephews; one special niece, April (Nicolas) Hubbard; a very very special friend Pamela Smith; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
James was preceded in death by a son James T. Moses Jr.; his father Joe N. Moses Sr.; his grandmother Mattie Bracey; one aunt Letha Brown; and three uncles, Lamar, T.D., and David Bracey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 13, 2003 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 800 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL. Pastor Walstone Francis, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park cemetery, Zion, IL. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. Arrangements by BRADSHAW & RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL. (847) 662-3553.
