Sidney A. Kick
Sidney A. Kick, 89, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at the Condell Medical Center. He was born November 14, 1913 in Libertyville, where he remained a resident for all his life. Before his retirement in 1976, he owned and operated Sid's Super Service in Libertyville for many years.
Surviving are his wife Laura (nee Kuester), son Wayne (Carol) Kick of Libertyville; two grandchildren, Dean and Cindy and three great grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah and Jacob. Also surviving are his brother Arthur (Isabelle) Kick, Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Irene (nee Boobyer) Kick, his step-mother Anna (Kunda) and brothers, Fred (Jean), William (Mary), Clifford (Leone) and Harry (Norma).
Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Neal T. Landry, Sr.
Neal T. Landry, Sr., 65, of Antioch passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry, IL. He was born October 23, 1927 in New Orleans, LA, the son of Bernard and Alma Landry.
He served in the U.S. Navy and had lived in Park Ridge before moving to Antioch in 1987. He worked as an operating engineer and was a long time member of the Operating Engineers Local #150. Neal enjoyed boating, building houses, snow skiing and fishing. On September 7, 1984, he married Sherry (Feulner) Barker in New Orleans, LA.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry; two sons, Henry "Buzzy" (B.J.) Landry of Slidell, LA and Neal Landry Jr. of Carol Stream, IL; a daughter, Kim (Curtis) Brown of Kennesaw, GA; and a step daughter, Kimberlee (Marc) Mosher of Oak Park, IL; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Bernie (Dolores) Landry in Virginia.
preceded in death by three brothers, Roland and twins Perry and Jerry; and a sister, Mae.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 3 PM Saturday, May 24, 2003 at STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83), Antioch. Funeral Services and interment will be private.

Ruth L. Pete
Ruth L. Pete, 82, of Waukegan passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan.
Ruth was born on August 25, 1920 in Chicago and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a retiree from Abbott Labs after working there for 31 years. She was a member of the Abbott's Quarter Century Club, the A.A.R.P. and Beach Bible Church in Zion.
Ruth is survived by a son, Bernard Sr. (Georgialie) Jezierny of Waukegan; and a grandson, Bernard Jr (Michele) Jezierny also of Waukegan. Also surviving are a nephew, Raymond (Sandy) Horeis of Chicago; nieces, Margaret (George) Whipple of Arizona, Sandra (Andy) Hensley of Tennessee, Shirley (the late Luther) Jones of Beloit, Wisconsin, Linda (William) Chapman of Illinois, Melody McCain of Waukegan, Gretchen (William) Russell of Wisconsin and Gayle (William) Shearn of Wooddale, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma (nee Nagle) Emmrich; her first husband, Bernard Jezierny and second husband, Spanny Pete; nephews, John and Raymond Emmrich and Ernst Horeis; nieces, Harriet Turner and Wendy Lambert; a brother, Raymond Emmrich; and two sisters, Margaret Horeis and Dorothy Christenson.
Services will be private for the family and are under the care of CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. 847-746-1234.

Earnestine Walker
Earnestine Walker, 79, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 15, 2003. Born in Clinton, Mississippi on January 8, 1924. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age in Mississippi. Earnestine had been a resident of North Chicago since 1955. She worked at the Veteran's Hospital in North Chicago for 21 years, where she had many friends and fond memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Walker, Sr.; her parents, Louis and Callie Turner; two brothers, Mr. Will Perry Turner and Mr. Edward Turner.
Left to cherish her memories are ten children, Earnest T. Turner of Jackson, Mississippi, Cleveland (Betty) Walker of Waukegan, Wanda Smith of Brookport, Illinois, Vondia Walker of Waukegan, Ronald Walker of North Chicago, Dwight Walker of North Chicago, Louis (Mattie) Walker of Waukegan, LaFountain (Kathleen) Walker, Teracita (James) Perkins of North Chicago, and Matorri (Calvin) Jordan of Waukegan; three brothers, Louis (Ruby) Turner of Jackson, Mississippi, Arthur (Tomachia) of Detroit, Michigan and Milton (Fannie) Turner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a sister, Tommiezine Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; 49 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, May 24, 2003 at the First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, 1529 Elizabeth Avenue, North Chicago, IL with Pastor Eugene Roberson officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 AM Saturday at the church. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories cemetery, North Chicago, IL. Carl Nelson Bach
Carl Nelson Bach, 46, of Spring Grove, died Monday, May 17, 2004, at his home after a 20 month battle with brain cancer.
He was born Nov. 17, 1957, in Chicago to James Martin and Carlene Jeronne (Nelson) Bach. On Jan. 21, 1989, he married Lynne Christine Ott, in Wauconda. Surviving children include Connie Alexandra, Andrew Christian and Joseph Nelson Bach of Spring Grove.
Carl spent eight years in the United States Army achieving the rank of sergeant. In 1984 he married Phyllis Diane Thompson of South Carolina. She preceded him in death in January 1987, surviving children are Kaylan Neoma, and Kelsey Nikole Bach of Spring Grove.
He returned to Chicago and became involved with the Union Ironworker's Local No. 63. His grandfather was a charter member of the union, his father and several uncles were also members of the union. His life as an ironworker was exciting and rewarding, from working on buildings where he met his wife, Lynne to allowing him and to achieve in creating his own company with his wife in 1996, known as C & L Iron, Ltd.
Carl "Iron Man" and his wife, "Dora" filled their weekends with children's activities and their mini-vacation with their close friends, while out riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife, Lynne and children; a sister, Sally (Edward) Jasek of Austin, Texas; brothers, Kirk (Wendi) Bach of Lake Forest, Calif. and Jim (Margo) Bach of Winchester, Va; and 18 nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his "adopted family", Conrad L. (Melicent) Ott Jr. of Chicago, Lauri Weber of Neskowin, Ore., Curt (Janine) Ott of Sandy, Ore., Liza Ott, Conrad (Kara), Chris (Maura) and Craig (Kim) Ott all of Chicago.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 21 at Spring Grove Funeral Chapel, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove.
Funeral Mass and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial garden to be made at their home in remembrance of Carl.

Jesse C. Fleming
Jesse C. Fleming, 33 of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Kenosha, WI. He was born April 10, 1971 in Waukegan and remained a lifelong area resident.
Jesse was employed as a truck driver.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret "Maggie" Herrmann of Winthrop Harbor; two brothers, Jeremy "J.J." Fleming and George Herrmann of Winthrop Harbor; his son, Kyle and also by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse Fleming and Rida Fleming.

Bernice J. Gohs (nee Johnson)
Bernice J. Gohs (nee Johnson), age 91, a resident of Spring Grove, IL, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at the Northern IL Medical Center in Mchenry, IL.
She was born on February 23, 1913 to Victor and Valborg (nee Bernadotte) Johnson in Chicago, IL and had attended Lakeview High School in Chicago. On May 23, 1936 she was united in marriage to Charles "Chaz" Gohs in Chicago, IL. She had been an executive secretary and a housewife and mother in her home and had enjoyed reading, gardening and entertaining the neighborhood children. She had attended Lutheran Church of All Saints in Fox Lake, IL.
Survivors include her son, Charles (Patricia) Gohs of Twin Lakes, WI; her grandchildren, Victoria (Jeffrey) Mezydlo of Champaign, IL and Eric (Amy Reynolds) Gohs of Kenosha, WI; her brothers and sisters, Arline Bose of Florida, Victoria (John) Corcoran of Texas, Bernard "Pete" (Betty) Johnson of Arlington Heights, IL, and Walter (Lenora) Johnson of Texas. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
she was preceded in death by her husband and by a brother, John Victor Johnson.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Lutheran Church of All Saints, 5800 State Park Rd., P.O. Box 187, Fox Lake, IL 60020 with the Pastor Rev. Dr. Glenn "Fred" Lambert
Dr. Glenn "Fred" Lambert, age 85, of Waukegan, died May 18, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born November 21, 1918, in Columbus, Ohio.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waukegan. He retired from Abbott Lab as a Research Biochemist from 1946-1989, belonged to The American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, a member of The American Heart Association, and a member of American Men & Women of Science. His research led to the formulation of the prostate cancer drug Lupron.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Lambert and Susan Johnson; one grandson, Zachary Johnson; one brother, Todd (Mary) Lambert; two sisters, Priscilla Ramsey and Carolyn Chaplin; sister-in-law, Clara Creager; nieces and nephews.

Victor Lindgren
Victor Lindgren, 78, of Michigan/Florida, formerly a long time resident and businessman of Libertyville, died May 13 in Florida. Vic was born February 14, 1926 in Chicago and was a Navy veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his children, Jim (Sue) Lindgren, Dave Lindgren, both of Third Lake, IL, Kathy (Chris) Lindgren Day of Wheaton, and Steve (Cindy) Lindgren of McHenry; his grandchildren, Brian, Bonnie, Erik, Tiffany and Samantha Lindgren, Tim, Tom and William Day; and his brother, Douglas (Donna) Lindgren of Deerfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, of 54 years of marriage who died in 2003.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 22 from 10 AM until 2 PM at McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, where vigil services will be held at 2 PM. A Funeral mass will be offered at 10 AM Monday, May 24 at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple St., Libertyville. Interment will be at Holy Rosary cemetery, Banat, Michigan.

William E. (Bill) Myers
William E. (Bill) Myers, resident of Park City, IL, died May 19, 2004 at Lake Forest Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born January 13, 1933 in Middlebourne, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth E. Twyman Myers and Lester E. Myers.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary E. Ashe Myers; a sister, Doris Schultz, and her husband, Edward; sister-in-law, Eunice Roberts; nephews, Timothy E. Schultz and his wife, Charla, and Ken Roberts; nieces, Robin Sibley, Mary Wilson; grandnieces and grandnephews, Jennifer Roberts, Kayla Wilson, Shane Sibley; his uncle, Hansel Villers (Tag); several cousins and many friends.
Bill served in the WV National Guard at Moundsville, WV, and retired from the U.S. Army following 28 years of service.
Services will be held at Jarvis Funeral Home, 4th Avenue, Paden City, WV, May 26, 2004, with interment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Paden City.
Local arrangements by MARSH FUNERAL HOME. There will be a memorial service at a later date in Waukegan.

Earl H. Pegelow
Earl H. Pegelow, 80, of Bristol, WI, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at St. Catherine's Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie, WI. he was born July 27, 1923 in Highland Park, IL and was a former 65 year resident of Prairie View. Earl was the son of a Lake County pioneer farming family and with his late wife owned and operated the Pegelow Family Farm and Grain Service in Prairie View. He was an active member of the Community, serving on the ASCS (Agriculture) Board for 15 years, was a member of the Lake County Fair Board and a 4-H Club Leader. He was also a member of the Lake County Mounted Posse, the Country Corners Square Dance Club and the Voyagers RV Club.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry (Vicki) Pegelow of Buffalo, MO and Marty (Jackie) Pegelow of Northfield, MN; four grandchildren, Jerry (Molly) Pegelow, Jr. of Ford, Kansas, Kim, Kerri and Paul Pegelow of Northfield, MN; two great-grandchildren, Haylie and Rylie Pegelow; two sisters, Lila Mae Partridge of Mundelein and Anita (Clarence) Billings of Mobile, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Cora Pegelow and his wife, Shirley on September 30, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Interment will follow at Willow Lawn Memorial Park in Vernon Hills. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Thelma Tucker
Thelma Tucker, 69, of Zion, IL, died on Saturday, May 15, 2004, at the Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion.
Thelma was born April, 1935, in Calhoun County, MI to the late Edward Petty and Lue Vinna White. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Bridge Chapter Baptist Church in Pittsboro, MI. Thelma was currently seeking to obtain membership to the Jehovah's Witnesses of Zion, IL. She was united in marriage to William (W.M.) Woodward, and then later to the late Percy Tucker.
Survivors include two daughters, Annie (Charles) Liggins of Zion, and Dessie (Bobby Davidson) Welch of Houston, MI; a special friend, Theodore Bass; 11 step-sons and 16 step-daughters; seven grandchildren, Alterrio and William Woodard, Deronda and Charles Liggins, Teresa Johnson, and Joe and Pamela Welch, and a host of great grandchildren. Also surviving are six brothers, J.D. (Joann) Glaspie of Zion, Jeff (Lottie) Glaspie of Bruce, MI, Ernest (Leena) Glaspie, Otis and K.C. Glaspie, all of Bruce, MI and Lee Petty of Houlka, MI; and five sisters, Martha Mays and Shirley Glaspie, both of Tulsa, OK, Mary Kincaid and Louise Elliott of Detroit, MI and Betty (Steve) Brooks of Calhoun City, MI. Thelma is also survived by an aunt, Devora (Allen) Armstrong, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lue Vinna Petty; husband, Percy Tucker in 1999; a step-father, Jefferson Glaspie; brother, Vernal Glaspie; and a granddaughter, Joann Welch.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL with Mr. James Bingham officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Funeral Home. (847)746-1234.

Alberta Jean Williams
The Lord called our angel to rest from her labor on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 12:41 p.m. at Kindred Hospital of Chicago, in North Lake, Illinois. Alberta Jean Williams was born in Ashburn, Georgia on May 10, 1950 to wonderful parents Mr. James and Azie Thomas. Alberta Loved the Lord. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the First Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. L. C. Luther.Alberta was an active and dedicated member of the choir and a member of the mission board. Alberta was a true worshipper of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Always ready to share any and everything she had, Alberta was no stranger to the community. She opened her home and heart to many who was without. Alberta was a Certified Nurse's Assistant and a Private Duty Nurse, which she loved doing what God called her to do, taking care of those needing help.
Alberta leaves 3 beautiful daughters to cherish her memories; Azie(Rev. Torrance) Abrams of North Chicago; Alyce Williams of Turlock, California; and Christina (James) Barnes of Beach Park; 2 wonderful sons; Keith Williams of North Chicago; and Willie Lockett Jr. of Chicago; 2 sweet god daughters; Patrice and Sabrina Harris of Chicago, 2 sisters; Evangelist Arphalia (Jerry) Mayfield, and Patricia Anderson of North Chicago; 3 brothers; Bobby Welch, David and Montrell Thomas of North Chicago; 6 god sisters Delcine (L.C.) Green, Anita Patterson and Lavern Harris of Chicago; Cassandra Beasely of Zion; Dana (Fred) Brown of Waukegan and Shirley (Leroy) Cobb of North Chicago; and 1 god brother; Rev. Melvin Kennedy of North Chicago; 18 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends including Mrs. Doris Bradford, Mrs. Lois Scott and Mrs. Susie James and her extended church family and friends, Pastor Gerald and Janice Wilcoxon and the entire Mt. Siani Baptist Church Family of North Chicago, Illinois.
Alberta was preceded in death by one sister; Delores Thomas, one brother; Terry Maddox; God Mother Dorothy Maddox; a god sister Carla Washington; one granddaughter Shenkia Usher; an honorary nephew Darrell Gales; and a son-in-law, Marvin Warfield Sr., Aunt Ruby Letterlough and Sarah Long, Godmother.

Stacy Lynn Dziki
Stacy Lynn Dziki, 28, of Lake Villa, IL, passed away suddenly Thursday, May 20, 2004. She was born January 6, 1976 in Libertyvile, IL, the daughter of Vincent and Wendy (Nelson) Desecki and has lived in Lake County all of her life. Stacy was a graduate of Grant High School and the College of Lake County with an associates of Arts degree. On November 15, 1997, she married Steven Dziki in Mundelein, IL. She worked part time as a bus driver for Grant High School and was a wonderful mother and wife.
Survivors are her husband, Steven and her daughter, Megan Nicole Dziki; her parents, Vincent Carl and Wendy Eileen Desecki of Spring Grove, IL; a brother, Vincent A. (Shawna) Desecki of Round Lake, IL; a sister, Stephanie "Lee" Zolli of Lake Geneva, WI; and her father and mother-in-law, Julian and Ana Mae Dziki of Lake Villa IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St., (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL. Interment will be in Liberty cemetery, Salem, WI. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Lake Villa Rescue Squad, in her memory.
