Mrs. George Riley
Services for Mrs. George (Evelyn A. Adkins) Riley, 86, of Gibson City were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City. Burial was in the Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City.
The former Sullivan resident died at 3:03 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001 in the Gibson Area Hospital Annex in Gibson City.
Born Jan. 26, 1915 in Gibson City, she was the daughter of Joseph M. and Mayme B. Meek Adkins. She lived in Sullivan and Decatur for many years before moving to Gibson City in 1978. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Sullivan and a charter member of the White Shrine in Sullivan. She married George Riley in 1932 in Toledo, and he survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ed (Karen) Rhodes of Gibson City; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
One daughter and three brothers preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorials to the Seekers Sunday school class at the First Christian Church or the Friends of Moyer Library in Gibson City.

Helen Thompson
Services for Helen Jones Thompson, 88, of Findlay were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lockart & Sons Funeral Home in Findlay. Burial was in Todds Point Cemetery in Shelby County.
She died at 3:52 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001 in Shelbyville Manor.
Born March 27, 1913 in Ramsey, she was the daughter of John and Flora Arvella Hunt Williams. She married Wirt W. Jones, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Lloyd E. Jones of San Antonio, Texas and Carol Wayne Jones of Decatur; daughters, Norma Park of Findlay, Alberta Stinson of Decatur and Ella Varvil of Sullivan; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
One son, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorials to Shelbyville Manor.

Idell Waller
Mrs. Richard (Idell Hope Hulett) Waller, 64, of Decatur died at 7:16 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Calvary Southern Baptist Church with the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born Feb. 25, 1937 in Riverton, she was the daughter of Charles and Marjorie Hulett. She was a graduate of Riverton High School, worked in management until 1999 and retired from Dollar General. She married Richard A. Waller Aug. 1, 1959.
Survivors include sons, Christopher A. Waller of Morrisonville, Kevin E. Waller of Dalton City, Corey A. Waller of Taylorville and Kerry Todd Waller of Clinton; daughter, Kathy Crisman of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorials to the Idell Waller Memorial Fund Prairie State Bank and Trust in Mt. Zion.

Bernice Bolin
Services for Bernice E. Bolin, 81, of Sullivan were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan conducted by the Rev. Dr. David Leslie. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan.
She died at 9:21 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2001 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
She was born Sept. 20, 1919 in Moultrie County, the daughter of John and Blanche Ballard Taylor. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Sullivan.
Survivors include a son, Richard E. Bolin of North Carolina; daughters, Donna Shafer, Arlene Fraker and Darlene Moody, all of Sullivan; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Memorials to the Moultrie County Chapter of the American Cancer Society are suggested.

Pauline Dick
Services for Mrs. Earl (Pauline Poole) Dick, 97, of Hammond were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Hammond United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Hammond Cemetery in Hammond.
She died at 5:55 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2001 in the Arthur Home in Arthur.
Mrs. Dick was born June 9, 1904 in Lintner, the daughter of John and Eleanor Condin Poole. She was a retired school teacher who taught in the La Place and Atwood-Hammond School Districts. She was a member of the Hammond United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Friendship Circle, the 16 High Club of Atwood and the Retired Teachers’ Assn.
After growing up on the family farm near Lintner, she graduated from Sullivan High School and went on to attend Illinois State University. She and her husband Earl lived and operated his family farm south of Hammond, where she lived until 1993. She married Earl L. Dick Feb. 18, 1929 in Lovington, and he died Aug. 30, 1958.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Kaye Dick of Hammond; her daughter, Carol Myers of Dallas, Texas; her brother, Don Poole of Ft. Myers, Fla.; grandchildren, Mrs. Dennis (Deb) Crnkovich, Diane Dick, Scott (Leslie) Myers, Craig (Amy) Myers, Grant Myers, Chris (Karen) Helton, Steve (Cindy) Helton, Tami (Jim) Hampton and Jeffery Mason; and great-grandchildren, Amanda and James Hawkins, Kaitlyn Crnkovich, Austin and McKenzie Myers, Katherine Myers, Mitchell Helton, Kaylee and Morgan Hampton, Andrew and Anna Marie Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Catherine Strohm, and a brother, Jim Poole.
The family suggests memorials to the Hammond United Methodist Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Ferny Palmer
Ferny Ruth Palmer, 85, of Macon died at 12:45 p.m. Monday Aug. 13, 2001 in the Moweaqua Nursing Home in Moweaqua.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, in the Macon Cemetery in Macon with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. in the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Bethany.
She was born Aug. 28, 1905 in Moweaqua, the daughter of Sanford and Maybelle Portwood Woolfe. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Macon and the Pen Women’s Poetry Club. She married William Everett Palmer Sept. 6, 1933, and he preceded her in death March 8, 1998.
Survivors include sons, Jack Palmer and wife Judy of Las Vegas, Nev. and Dan Palmer of Macon; daughter, Donna Palmer-Kawaski and husband Wilbur of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Larry, her parents, six sisters and four brothers.

Joan Baugher
Joan Baugher, 70, of Sullivan died at 11:33 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Marrowbone Township Cemetery in Bethany with the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
Born March 26, 1931 in Bethany, she was the daughter of Howard Marion and Dorothy Evelyn Mathias Moore. She was a retired bus driver for the Sullivan School Dist. and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sullivan and the American Legion Auxiliary of Sullivan. She married Charles O. Baugher Nov. 16, 1947 in Sullivan, and he survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Linda Garrett of Cleburne, Texas and Charlotte Maxedon of Sullivan; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the donor’s choice are suggested.

Roscoe Hudson
Services for Roscoe J. Hudson, 70, of Sullivan were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Burial was in Moultrie County Memorial Park near Bethany.
He died at 11:54 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Born April 18, 1931 in Trenton, Tenn., he was the son of Albert N. and Iba Love Watson Hudson. He was a retired construction worker and laborer foreman and was a member of the Armorel Baptist Church in Armorel, Ark. and the International Brotherhood Labors of America Local #703. He married Georgia Webb March 21, 1949 in Armoret, Ark., and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Ron Hudson of Decatur; daughter, Beverly Burgett of Dalton City; brothers, Wallace of Paris, Tenn., Jim and Jerry, both of Blytheville, Ark. and Cletus of Mountain Home, Ark.; sister, Bonnie Kamler of Scott City, Mo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorials to the Moultrie County Chapter of the American Heart Assn.
