Age 98, died June 30, 2001, at Rosary Hill, Justice, Illinois.
She was born January 31, 1903 in Joliet, IL and resided in Western Springs for seven years. She was a homemaker and avid gardener known for her Blue Ribbon Roses and Violets.
Survivors include one daughter, Lillian (Ted) Zaggy of Western Springs; a sister, Jeanette Corcoran; grandchildren, Dr. Alan (Mary Ann) Zaggy, Andrea (Craig) Abbott, Kyla Zagg, Todd (Tammie) Vollmer; and Dr. Kelly Vollmer; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her daughter, Jackie (the late James) Vollmer; and a brother, Andy Murin.
Mass will be at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2001 at St. John Of The Cross Church with visitation from 10:15 until 11:15 a.m. Thursday at St. John Of The Cross Church. Interment is private. Memorials to Rosary Hill, 9000 W. 18st St., Justice, IL 60458.

Peter A. Fazio
Age 84 years. Passed away Sunday, July 1, 2001 at Deerbrook Care Center. born in Joliet on June 16, 1917. He was a life-long resident. Retired sheetmetal worker for Union Local #50. Army veteran of WWII. He was a devoted and active member of the Church of St. Anthony, serving as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and one of the original organizers of the St. Anthony Church spaghetti dinners. Member of the St. Anthony's Men's Club and a former member of the Knight's of Columbus Holy Trinity Council #4400. A former member of the Italian-American Cultural Club and a former member of the Santa Fortunata.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Florence (nee Allocco) Fazio; his parents, Antonio and Maria (nee Pecaro) Fazio and by several brothers and sisters.
Survived by five children, Peter Francis (Diane) Fazio, Mary Ann (Paul) Rafac, David J. (Carma) Fazio, Richard A. (Lorise) Fazio and Michael (Karen) Fazio; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Josephine Matesi, Mary Scaccia and Nina Wurbs. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial Mass will be will be celebrated at the Church of St. Anthony on Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to:

Alan C. Ferry, Sr.
Of Joliet, went home to be with the Lord, June 30, 2001. Age 65 years.
Survived by his wife, Virginia Ferry (nee Baitinger); a son, Alan C. (Lori) Ferry, Jr. of Channahon; a daughter, Alana M. Ferry of Joliet; his mother, Ruth E. Ferry of Joliet; three grandchildren, McKenna Ferry, Justin Forristal-Ferry and Jillian Forristal-Ferry.
Preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ferry (1981).
Born September 15, 1935 in Springfield, IL. Alan served in the U.S. Air Force, he was a bricklayer by trade and sold real estate in the Joliet area for 25 years. He was co-founder of the Joliet Area Historical Society and enjoyed architectural history and preservation. Alan came into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at the age of 35 and served the Lord at Faith Bible Church through bus ministry, Sunday school teacher and board member. He was a devoted son and husband, a committed and loving father and grandfather.
Lying in state at Faith Bible Church, 1600 Schuster Ave., Friday, July 6 from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Gerald Watson officiating. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 2:00 P.M. Friday. Memorials to Faith Bible Church or the Christian Youth Center's Lend a Hand Ministry will be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Thursday from 2-8 P.M. Services conducted by Gerald L. Dames- Associate Director with:

Kenneth W. Fry "Skillet"
Age 65. Sunday, July 1, 2001 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Born in Bloomington, IL and a Joliet area resident the past 20 years. Retired from Operating Engineers Union Local #150 in 2000 following 47 years of service. Member of Minooka United Methodist Church, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #300 since 1973. Also member of the Bloomington Masonic Lodge AF and AM for 36 years. A U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Germany.
Surviving are three daughters, Renea L. Fry of Minooka, Rebecca (Mike) Williams of Bloomington and Laurie (Mike) Hall of Marion, IL. His stepson, Lee Ryburn of Bloomington. Three grandchildren. Former wife and dear friend, Jacquie Fry of Minooka. Two brothers, Arthur J. (Connie) Fry of North Carolina and Ronald (Jane) Fry of Bradley, IL. A sister-in-law, Marie Fry of Lowell, IN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Charlotte Fry. A sister, Leona Whicker. Two brothers, Earl Logan Fry and Gordon Fry.
Funeral Services for Kenneth W. Fry will be Tuesday, July 3, 2001, 9:30 AM at the West Chapel. Entombment East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bloomington. Memorials in his memory to Mooseheart would be appreciated. Visitation Monday, 6-8 PM at:

Alfred Meader
Age 71, passed away suddenly June 23, 2001 at his home in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born September 29, 1929 in Joliet, IL. He belonged to many clubs, and was an Army veteran. Al was an avid bowler and loved all sports.
He is survived by several cousins and will leave many dear friends and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Sade (Taylor); aunts, Amelia Cleary (Meader) and Pearl Cardwell (Taylor).
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no services. Arrangements by MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL, Ann Arbor, MI.

Steven C. Swanson
Age 44 of Wilmington passed away Friday evening at home after a long illness. born August 2, 1956 in Oak Park, IL to Edward and Bessie Swanson.
Survived by his loving wife, Kimberly (Black) Swanson; three dear children, Corlin Jay (20), Caylin Jay (15) and Colin Jay (12) all at home. Brother to Diane (Michael) Rink of Hoffman Estates,Donna Swanson and Ed Swanson both of Wilmington. Uncle to Ryan and Jill Rink. Steven is preceded in death by his mother, Bessie (98).
Graduate of Wilmington High School 1974 and member of Electricians Union #15 Com Ed, former member of IBEW #176. Member of Wilmington Moose Lodge #241.
Visitation Monday, July 2, 2001 from 4 to 8 PM and on Tuesday from 9 AM until time of services at 11 AM July 3, 2001 at the Freitag Funeral Home, Wilmington with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Caroline "Tudda" Wisneski (nee Chellino)
Passed away at Sunny Hill Skilled Rehabilitation Center, Saturday, June 30, 2001. Age 86 years.
Survived by her daughter, Minnie Lou of Wilmington, and her son Chuck Wisneski of Arizona. Two grandchildren, Treva S. (Scott) Jones and John C. Pauls "JP". Two great grandchildren, Paul W. and Nicholas P. Jones. Two sisters, Isabelle (Joseph-deceased) Bick and Angline (Fred-deceased Scaccia both of Joliet. Two nieces, Carmela (Frank-deceased) Turk and Angela (George-deceased) Turk. Also survived by several other nieces and nephews, three sisters-in-law, Rose Penko, Victoria Lozar and Millie Wisneski.
Preceded in death by her husband, Casmer "Slim" Wisneski (1975), her parents, Thomas and Mariana Chellino. Three sisters, Theresa Cemeno, Rose Mancuso and Josephine Greco. A brother, Samuel Chellino.
Born in Joliet March 29, 1915 and was a life long resident. Member of the Church of St. Anthony. Special thanks to the Joliet Area Community Hospice. Funeral Services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Tuesday, July 3 at 12:00 PM. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Otto R. Zieche, Jr.
Age 76, passed away June 6, 2001 in Bellingham, WA. He was born on December 7, 1924.
Otto was with the United States Navy, serving in WWII. His lifetime profession was carpentry.
Otto was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and his wife, Hazel (Thurston) Zieche.
He is survived by three sisters, Betty, June and Margarite; his children from a previous marriage, Connie Eckler, James Zieche and Marsha Painter; his children with Hazel, Patricia Zieche, Otto Zieche III and Jeannie Adams; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Charles J. Carlin, Jr.
Charles J. Carlin, Jr., former Joliet resident, father of five and a retired Mountain Bell employee, died July 1, 2001.
He was born June 7, 1917 in Wilmington, IL and moved to Joliet in 1925. On August 29, 1941, he married Louise Marshall in Denver. She is deceased; a daughter, Joan, is also deceased.
He graduated from Joliet Junior College and was conferred his Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He served during WWII in the United States Coast Guard.
He is survived by two sons, Charles III (Susan), Smithville Flats, NY, James (Anne), Cascade, CO; two daughters, Jane Facente (Gary), Evanston, IL and Susan Carlin (Mark Dujmovic), Westcliffe, CO; six grandchildren, Blake, Brooke, Corrie, Kirsten, Brendon and Anna.
At his request, no services were held. Cremains will be inurned at Fort Logan National Cemetery with those of his wife and daughter.
