Robert W. Edman Sr. "Bob"
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at the Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Age 83.
Survived by his children Jackie (Harvey) Scheuer, Bob (Beverly) Edman, Laurie (Joseph-deceased) Palacios, Richard Behmetuik, Mark Behmetuik, Kurt (Patty) Behmetuik, Kerree (Ray) Obecunas, Kathe (Larry) Gardner, Cindy (Jeremy) Alsip, Terri Edman, and Erik (Amy) Edman. 25 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. One brother Clarence (Beverly) Edman and one sister Delores (Ed-deceased) Falck. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife Diane (nee Czerwinski), one daughter Kimberlee Johnston, his parents David and Olga (nee Larson) Edman, two brothers David Earl and David C. Edman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2001 at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, with Pastor David Green officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Wednesday 2-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated.

Joseph Kowalski
Late of Braidwood, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2001. Age 92 years.
Born August 30, 1909 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Steven and Josephine Kowalski. He was a former employee of U.S. Steel, Joliet Arsenal and the Limestone School. Mr. Kowalski was a WWII Army Veteran.
Survived by his dear friends, the families of Vernie Brock, Clarence and Diane Brock and Randy and Sandy Rzeszutko and children.
Preceded by his parents, his wife Eleanore, numerous brothers, sisters and his beloved companion Vernie Brock.
Visitation will be held at the Reeves Funeral Home, Wilmington, on Friday July 13 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Then funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Braidwood, IL. Rev. Steve Bondi officiating.
Interment Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, Braceville, IL.
Memorials to the Kuzma Care Cottage appreciated.

Died July 6, 2001. born December 15, 1938 to LeRoy and Lucille O'Neill in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
Survived by children: Lynn (Mike) Benben of Waterford, WI; Patrick (Kathryn) O'Neill of Joliet; Colleen O'Neill of Naperville and Laura (Randy) Price of Rockford, IL. Grandchildren: Trevor Benben; Heather and Shannon O'Neill and Kellen and Keaton Price. Sister: Peggy Liljegren of Debuque, Iowa.
Preceded in death by parents LeRoy and Lucille O'Neill.

Dorothy J. Stahl (nee Burt)
Age 77. died Wednesday, June 27, 2001 peacefully was reunited with Christ to join her heavenly family.
Survived by her children, R. Scott (Kay) Stahl of AZ, Stephen D. Stahl and Lauren J. (Tony) Jurkas of Joliet; loving grandmother of Jeremy (Cathy), Timothy, Stephanie, Nicholas, Tracy, Tony and Casey; great-grandmother to Ryan; sister of Dollie Lindstrom of Calumet City, Marilyn (James) Mollan of Wilmington and Joyce Zierman of Joliet. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob; parents, Andy and Ruth (Mahaffey) Burt and her brother, Bud.
A Memorial Service will be held for both Dorothy & her late husband, Charles R. Stahl at the Cathedral of St. Raymond, Saturday July 14, 2001 at 9:30 a.m.

Viola M. Wade (nee Ferro)
Age 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at Provena Villa Franciscan. She was a longtime resident of Crest Hill and a member of St. Anne's Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, John James Wade; her parents, Anton and Lucille (nee Tasso) Ferro; her brother, John B. Ferro; and her sisters, Lenora Vargo and Pauline Berdis.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Jim) Ruggeri and John (Lori) Wade; her grandchildren, Greg Ruggeri and Cheryl and Michael Wade; her sisters, Barbara Midlock, Caroline Helbling and Frances Fenoglio and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Grant-Tapella-Freitag Westwood Memorial Chapel on Saturday, July 14, 2001 (time will be published Friday). Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Saturday Morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Multiple Sclerosis Society, would be appreciated.

Freddie Wilson (nee Grice)
Departed this life Thursday, July 5, 2001 at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, IL. born November 16, 1929 in New Madrid, MO. She lived most of her life in Cairo, IL before moving to Joliet, IL two years ago.
Preceded in death by her parents Harrison and Arnetta Grice. Two brothers Harrison, Jr., and Lonnie Grice. Three sisters Cleopal Willis, Lillian Hall and Maudie Banks Watson. One nephew Ralph Willis.
Survived by one sister Gracie Woodford Thompson. Three nieces, Janet (Gloston) Graves, Sherron (William) Thompson, and Charlotte (Charles) Green. 4 nephews, Gerald Grice, Falvyn Grice, Gary (Yvette) Woolford, David Thompson and numerous relatives and friends.
Services will be held Friday, July 13, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at The Second Baptist Church, 156 S. Joliet St. Rev. Larry Tyler officiating. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery following the services.

Age 40, of Plainfield, IL. died Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was born July 22, 1960 in Torrance, CA.
Survived by his wife, Karla (nee Conrad), his children, Shanell, Janeal and Bryce. His parents, Harold and Shirley (nee Emory) Yates of Goreville, IL. A brother, Greg (Caron) Yates of Murrayville, IL and a sister Leah (Nick) Neff of Rocklin, CA. Numerous nieces and nephews. Was the son-in-law of Dale and Patricia Conrad of Plainfield, IL and the brother-in-law of Jeff (Peggie) Conrad, Greg (Darlene) Conrad, Keith (Diane) Conrad, Connie (Ray) Connelly and Deb (Bob) Bowen. Has been a member of the Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department since 1990, becoming a life member and fire fighter of the year in 1994. Was employed with Fusion UV Systems as a Mechanical Engineer. Kirk and his wife where co-owners of the Accent Hair Salon in Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial to his children's education would be greatly appreciated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 14, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Church, Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at:

Mary Alice Yerbich Mason (nee Brown)
Age 80. Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, due to complications from a stroke she suffered on July 4. born in Danville, IL. A long time resident of Ottawa, IL and a Joliet area resident since 1967. Formerly employed as a Meter Maid for the Ottawa Police Department. A security officer for the Zayre Department Store retiring in 1977. Member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary Ottawa American Legion.
Surviving are two children, Vicki (Lee) Overbay, and Rick (Teresa) Mason both of Shorewood; six grandchildren, Michael (Shawneen) Arreguin, Michele Bastian, Rick, Danielle, Mark and Kimberly Mason, four great grandchildren, Paul Michael Bastian, Kyle, Brianna and Troy Arreguin; a sister, Betty Strain, of Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded by her husband, George Mason and Husband Frank Yerbich; a sister, Kathy Ostby, and her parents, Alvin R. and Edna May Brown.

Richard A. Ziech
Monday, July 9, 2001. Age 84 years.
Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Esther (nee Foltan), three sons James (Laurie) of Kalamazoo, MI, Thomas (Shelley) of Brookfield, WI and John (Melissa) Ziech of Grand Rapids, MI, six grandchildren, one brother Carl (Vivian) Ziech of Joliet, sisters-in-law Marie Ziech and Erma Ziech, brother-in-law Al Wilhelmi and several nephews in the Joliet area. Also survived by sisters-in-law Margaret Kaukonen and Ruth Payne and several nieces and nephews in CA.
Preceded in death by his parents and brothers William, Fred and Edward Ziech, sisters Mildred Wilhelmi and Caroline Wieman.
Born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident. Retired in 1979 from Commonwealth Edison after 43 years of service. Veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corp. Charter member and actively involved with Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Lying in state at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Friday, July 13th at 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Klaus M. Mehrl and Rev. Loy G. Schlote officiating. Interment Hills of Rest Cemetery. Memorials to the Our Savior Lutheran Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated.
