Deborah Lynn Bray, age 49, of Conifer Co. formerly of New Lennox, died July 12, 2001. She was born August 16, 1951.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Tufts of Conifer; mother, Barbara Bray of Sun City AZ.; sisters, Cathy (John) Schrolucke of Glendale AZ and Cindy (Lee) Hansen of Manhattan; brothers, Robert Jr. of Mobile AL, Mike of San Diego Ca and Steve (Paula) of Indianapolis IN; numerous nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by her father, Robert Bray Sr.
Memorial Services were held July 18 at Evergreen Memorial Park in Evergreen CO.

Rev. Paul S. Bredesen Sr.
Age 88. Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at Rosewood Care Center. born in Canada and a resident of Joliet since 1963. Pastored for over 30 years in Broken Bow, Nebraska; Carney, Nebraska where he pioneered a radio ministry; Springfield, MO; Parma, Ohio; Chicago and Joliet, Illinois at Faith Assembly of God.
Surviving are his children, Paul S. (Arieta) Bredesen of Joliet, Virginia R. Mack of Little Rock, AR, Robert J. (Carol) Bredesen of Joliet, Dan (Christa) Bredesen of Lockport and Rev. Steve J. (Stephanie) Bredesen of Ponca City, OK. Grandfather of 18; great-grandfather of 18; uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Agnes R. (nee Austin) Bredesen (1998); parents, Carl and Ruth (nee Larson) Bredesen; one grandson, Trevor; one great-grandson, Zachary Bredesen.

John T. Cima
Age 93, of South Wilmington, IL, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2001 at the Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, IL. born December 6, 1907 in Braidwood, IL to the late John and Lena (Berta) Cima. Survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Natalene (Ralph) Ferrari of Clifton, IL, Alice Sartore of Joliet, IL and Ronald Rickey of Eagan, MN; five granddaughters, Cari (Scott) Pierard of Coal City, IL, Michelle (Daniel) Fennell of Homewood, IL, Vikki (Brett) Morrical, of Mishawaka, IN, Dana Rickey of Eagan, MN, and Rachel (Jermyn) Boyd of Eagan, MN; six great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Rita Huber of Essex, IL, Frances Allen of South Wilmington, IL; and Emadee and Ronald Guest of Reddick, IL. Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Huber), whom he married June 12, 1937 in Buckingham, IL; his daughter, Carol Rickey; one brother, Bert Cima; a sister Josie Barker. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in South Wilmington, Saturday, July 21, at 2:00 p.m. Interment Round Grove Cemetery in Campus, IL. Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., South Wilmington Chapel, Friday, July 20, from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 21, from noon until 1:45 p.m.

Joseph ConnollyAge 88 of Channahon, IL
Passed away July 18, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. born to John and Nellie Connolly on March 5, 1913.
Survived by three sisters, Harriet (Les, deceased) Reardanz, Marjorie (Tom, deceased) Barry of Morris, and Helen (Bob, deceased) Lamping of Channahon, dear sisters-in-law Grace Overton and Almeda (Gene) Connolly; two daughters Shirley (John, deceased) Johnson of Channahon and Linda McMillin of Joliet; one son Jerry (Betty) Frederick of Ocala, FL, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Hazel (1989) and brother Eugene.
Joe was a proud Veteran of World War II. After retiring from construction he and Hazel owned and operated Connolly's Tavern in Channahon. He and Hazel then retired in 1973 to Ocala, FL. Joe was an avid hunter and trapper. He returned to this area in 1995.

Beloved son of Ervin and June Friant of New Lenox; dear brother of KarenMansfield of Bensenville, Patricia (Scott) Thomas of Vincennes, Ind. and Lynn (Vance) Manheim of Braidwood; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his mother,Marian Friant.

Age 72, Monday July 16, 2001. Survived by, her daughter, Mary Jo (Cristopher) Moore; two grandchildren, Danielle and Darren Moore; step-mother, Josephine Roski; sister, Christine Grabowski; three brothers, Frank (Gladys) Wozny, Tom (Wanda) Roski, Jerry Roski.
Preceded in death by parents, Joe Roski and Angeline (Frank) Wozny.
Graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1951. Retired from Gary School in Chicago as a kindergarten teacher.
Family will receive friends at the Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, Lockport, Saturday, July 21, 2001 from 9:00a.m. until time of services at 11:00a.m. with Rev. David Wilder officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joilet Area Community Hospice

Genevieve B. Lopez "Jenny" (nee Holcomb)
Age 67, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2001 at her residence surrounded by her family. born in Waukegan, IL and a resident of Joliet since 1943.
Surviving are her loving husband of 20 years, Peter P. Lopez of Joliet; nine children, Sandra Brackins, David (Sandy) Bales, Michael Bales, Christine Hernandez, Kathleen (Paul) Jurkowski, Antoinette Bales, Joseph Lopez, Pete (Barb) Lopez, Jr., and Linda (Billy) Boyd; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Geraldine (Richard) Lee; two brothers, William Holcomb and Daniel Holcomb. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded by one son, Michael Lopez; her parents, Walter and Selma Holcomb; one brother, Ronald Holcomb; one sister, Vivian Ross.
At her request, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services for Genevieve B. Lopez will be held Friday, July 20, 2001 at 7:00 P.M. at the West Chapel. The family will receive all friends and relatives Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until the services at:

Grace McKee
Beloved Organist of the Ingallas Park United Methodist Church for 68 years, died July 19, 2001 at the age of 87. Daughter of Carl and Lyda McKee, she was preceded in death by them and a brother, William (Della).
Grace was a graduate of JTHS ('31) and of J.J.C. She worked for the F.E. Shundler Co., later Johns Manville, and retired after 42 years of service. Grace traveled extensively, including two trips to the Holy Land and tours of 6 of the 7 continents. Writing was one of her enjoyments and she attended elderhostels and writer's workshops for several years before publishing two books of poems and prose. Grace gave freely of her time as a volunteer at Silver Cross Hospital, though Reach to Recovery, and at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. She was a past president of Church Women United of Greater Joliet, and of the Ladies Auxiliary Cantigny Post #367 V.F.W. As an active member of Ingalls Park Church, Marguerite #187 Order of the Eastern Star, Bethany Shrine #7, White Shrine of Jerusalem, and the Will County Union of the Kings Daughters and Sons Nellie K. Smith Circle, Grace worked faithfully to support each. She was one to generously help others and received loving care, especially during her final months, in response. Grace will be missed. She requested that memorial gifts be directed to Ingalls Park United Methodist Church, Joliet.

Age 70, Thursday, July 19, 2001, Veterans Administration Hospital, Hines. Late of Mokena.
Survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Virginia E. (Tyler) Miller; three daughters, Lisa (Joseph) Ramos, Teresa Miller and her Fiancee Wendell Schmalz, Gail (Salvatore) Dandrea; two grandsons, Kyle Ramos and Kayln Schmalz; three sisters, Geneva (Byron) Hess, Darlene (Kenneth) Fritsch, and Arlene (Richard) Janovsky.
Born in Viborg, SD, living in Mokena since 1968. An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he retired in 1989 from General Motors after 31 years as a die setter. He was also member of Harry E. Anderson VFW Post 9545.
Preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Mendi (Hansen) Miller; and two sisters, Bernice Miller and Beverly Zivic.
Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Cedar at Francis Roads, New Lenox, Sunday 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Lying in state 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2001, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mokena. Services 11:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. William Metzger officiating. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Loving father of: Patricia Anne Papp, Nancy L (Ronald) Plymale, both of Ohio; daughter-in-law Yvonne (Eugene dec.) Papp of Mass.; dearest grandfather of five grandchildren, Anne Margaret (Steven) Podowski, Timothy James "T.J." (April) Snyder, Bradley T. (Jacqueline) Snyder, Christopher Papp and Suzanne Plymale; four great grandchildren, Kristin, Kaitlen and Kortney Podowski, Savannah Snyder; one sister, Mary Papp. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded by his wife, Anne M. (nee Porvaznik) Papp; one son, Eugene Papp; parents, Alexander and Mary B. (nee Birny) Papp; one sister, Helen Takas; four brothers, Alex, Steven, Joseph and Gasper Papp.
Alexander was born in Joliet and lived in Gary, Indiana, for much of his life and returned to Joliet in 1974. Retired 1968 from U.S. Steel, member of Knights of Columbus in Gary, Indiana, and Joliet, Sacred Heart Holy Name Society, and was an usher in Gary, Indiana, and Holy Cross Church in Joliet. Belonged to the Ostomy Society and was very active in the Joliet Senior Service Center.

Age 61. Wednesday, July 18, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Late of Lockport.
Survived by his wife, Alice (Wadac); daughter, Kim (Scott) Jernigan; granddaughter, Lauren Jernigan; two sisters, Mary Kay Scinkovec and Jacqueline Stansell; also survived by nieces and nephews.
Born in Joliet, living in Lockport for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents, John & Mary (Pellegrini) Scinkovec.
US Air Force Veteran. Member Lockport Moose Lodge #1557. Employed for many years at Ozark Airlines, retiring from TWA airlines.
Family will receive friends at the Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton St., Friday 4-8pm. Services will be Saturday, July 21, 2001, 9:15am to St. Joseph Church, Joliet, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery.
