Anna E. Klomhaus
Anna E. Klomhaus, 97, of Yorkville passed away Friday, February 16, 2001 at Hillside Healthcare Center. She was born June 25, 1903 in Aurora, IL.
Anna was a member of Holy Angels Church, St. Anne's Society, and for many years was treasurer of the Sugar Grove Unit of the Kane County Home Extension. She served as a judge in the Home Economics Department at the Kane County Fair. She loved quilting, doing needle point, and crocheting afghans for her family. Anna was an avid gardener. If anyone ever needed Anna for anything, she was always there for them.
She is survived by two sons George (Darlene) Klomhaus of Sugar Grove, IL and Kenneth (DarrLynn) Klomhaus of Sun City, AZ; six grandchildren Bambi (Paul) Johnson of Maple Park, Timothy (Doris) Klomhaus of Elburn, Jaime (Trisha) Klomhaus of Lyons, CO, Craig (Jill) Klomhaus of Niwot, CO, Daniel Klomhaus of Maple Park, and Trent (Jennifer) Klomhaus of Hudson, IL; seven great grandchildren; a sister Betty Fidler of Aurora; two sisters-in-law Mildred Hankes of Aurora and Shirley Weisgerber of North Aurora; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Herbert; her parents Elizabeth (Schu) and Nicholas Hankes; four brothers Herman, Paul, Donald, and Raymond; and two sisters Leona Stansel and Helen LeMaster.
Funeral from THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY will be Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at 9:30 A.M. to Holy Angels Church at 10:00 A.M. with Father Bernard Schaefer, O.S.B. will officiate with interment at Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the Rosary to be recited at 6:30 P.M. at THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY, 220 N Lake St., Aurora, 630-898-8634.

Mary Quednau
Mary Quednau, 96 of Aurora, IL, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2001 at her sister's home.
She was born September 9, 1904 in Onichtsreith, Germany. She came to Aurora in 1923 and married William Quednau on October 20, 1928. Together they owned and operated The Green Oaks Beer Garden in Marywood. Mary has been a Marywood resident for 70 years.
She is survived by her sister, Katharina Hentschel, who cared for her; a sister, Emma Pauley of Florida and a brother, Jacob Schindlbeck of Batavia, IL; a niece, Maria Hentschel Hensley of Aurora; her nephews, Herbert (Susan) Hentschel of Morris, IL and William Hentschel of Aurora; a cousin, Joseph Ammer and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday, February 17, 2001 at 11:30 Am at St. Mary Church by Fr. David Palmatier, OSB. Interment in St. Paul Cemetery, Montgomery, IL. Visitation will be Saturday morning, February 17, 2001 from 9:30 AM until the funeral hour at St. Mary Church, 430 E. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60506. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to St. Mary Church.

Troy Roberts
Age 84 of Welketta, OK. born February 2, 1917, passed away February 13, 2001.
Preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Beulah Roberts. They lived most of their lives in Sugar Grove raising their children.
Survived by Allen (Lori) Roberts; sons, Ronald Roberts, Bob (Margaret) Roberts, Jerry (Marie) Roberts, Roy (Patti) Storey, Floyd (Charley) Storey; daughters Rosa (Mike) Lee and Debbie (Don) Baker. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

Patricia A. Wilson
Patricia A. Wilson, age 54, of Montgomery, IL passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2001 at her home.
She was born on July 26, 1946 in Chicago, IL. Patricia was united in marriage on April 22, 1966 in Gallatin, TN to Mr. William Wilson, Sr. and they spent the next 35 years of their lives together. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aurora, IL. Patricia had been employed in the accounting profession by several firms throughout this area.
She is survived by her husband William Wilson, Sr.; her sons, William L. (Anita) Wilson, of Millington, IL and Michael L. (Peggy) Wilson Sr., of Millington, IL; her daughter, Sandra Marie (Larry) Wilson Mason of Montgomery, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; her step-father Arthur Proska of Kissimmee, FL and her husband's step-father Anthony Grazia of Lyons, IL.
She is preceded in death by her mother Ethel Proska; her mother-in-law, Luella Wilson Grazia; and her daughter-in-law Rebecca Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2001 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home 410 E. Countryside Parkway, in Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in the Oakridge-Glen Oak Cemetery, in Hillside, IL.
At the family's request, please omit flowers. Memorials in Patricia's memory should be directed to her family.

Evelyn M. Dehning
Evelyn M. Dehning, 98, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2001 at The Tillers in Oswego. She was born August 24, 1902 in Maple Park, Illinois.
Survivors include her son, William D. (Marilyn) Dehning of West Linn, Oregon; her daughter, Madeline (Richard) Augustine of Sandwich; 10 grandchildren Linda (Michael) Leonard, Susan (Ron) Spanu, David (Clare) Augustine, Diane (Gary) Wildy, Todd (Therese) Augustine, Mark (Sharon) Dehning, Tim (Mary) Dehning, Lisa (Lance) Taylor, Matthew (Kelly) Dehning and Shannon (Dan) Vasend; 23 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband , Henry Dehning in 1963; by a son in infancy; a grandson, Martin Dehning in 1967; her parents, Martin and Margaret (Keenan) Loftus; two brothers, Robert E. Loftus and Martin Loftus Jr.; and a nephew, Robert E. Loftus in 1972.
Evelyn's family wished to extend special thanks to the friends and care givers at Sunnymere Retirement Home where she has resided since 1983, and to the nurses and aides at Tillers.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at 12:00 noon. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Fr. Clarence James Millett "Jim"
Clarence James Millett, age 68, of Lakeview, Arkansas since 1988, formerly of Batavia, Illinois, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2001 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home Arkansas. Jim was born January 15, 1933, in Batavia, the son of William and Elsie Millett. He was united in marriage to Esther C. Petersen on December 2, 1950 in Batavia.
Jim owned and operated a trucking company prior to his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Esther C. Millett; one son, Timothy W. (Elizabeth) Millett, of St. Charles, IL.; six daughters, Bonnie (Rob) Allison, of Batavia, IL., Terry (Bill) Brach, of Maple Park, IL., Colleen (Steve) Conlon, of Batavia, IL., Tammy (Gary) Vendl, of St. Germain, WI., Becky Millett, of St. Charles, IL. and Jaymee (John) Smith, of Genoa, IL; fifteen grandchildren, Erik, Josh, Justin, Katie, Aaron, Alyssa, Jessica, Ben, Chris, Keri, Amy, Kelly, Alexandra, Cameron and Ryann Marie; three great grandchildren, Billy, Kailyn and Chris; one sister, Elsie (Ray) Rogers, of Aurora, IL; several nieces, nephes and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 P.M. on Monday, February 19, 2001 at the Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home in Batavia.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at the Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior Dixon officiating. Interment will be at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.

Harry Lee Sheppard
Harry Lee Sheppard, 46 of Aurora, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2001 at Rush-Copley Medical Center. He was born July 3, 1954 in Cairo, IL.
Harry was employed by AT&T for 13 years. He was a member of North Aurora Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed fishing, model trains and watching football especially the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his mother Martha Sheppard, daughter Lucinda Sheppard, son Kevin Sheppard, daughter Kristina (Miguel) Amaya and a granddaughter Isabel Amaya.
Harry was preceded in death by his father Harry David Sheppard in 1979.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at 11 A.M. from The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora with Pastor Steve Shaw and Pastor Louis Fitting officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9 A.M. until the funeral hour. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery.

Herbert J. Tennant
Herbert J. Tennant, 79, of Naperville passed away Saturday, February 17, 2001 at Edward's Hospital. He was born April 16, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois.
He retired from Local IBEW #134 in 1979. He was an altar boy. His faith and family were extremely important to him. He was a devoted husband, loving father, faithful friend and he had a wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Vivian (Canner) Tennant; five children Joan (Walter) McElligott of Peotone, IL, Randy (Eiko) Tennant of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Janet (Fred) Duy of Oswego, IL, Carol Kruse of Naperville, IL, and Renee (Mark) Turner of Bradenton, FL; 16 grandchildren Ken (Gia) McElligott, Karen Scanlon, Dr. Barbara (Dr. Paul) Twargowski, Nancy (Gregory) Wrey, Tim (Paula) Duy, Tina (Jeff) Lumbert, Pam and Michelle Duy, Deborah (Jack) Herron, Dan Freitas, Michael, Amada, Jeremy, Patricia, Kevin, and Alicia Turner; eight great grandchildren Jacob, Joshua, and Jared Herron, Ariel and Nicole McElligott, Matthew Twargowski, Tyler Hamrin, and Megan Lumbert; a sister Emily Walenta of Brookfield, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Magdelene E. (Wierschem) and Joseph H. Tennant; a brother Joseph Tennant and a sister Dorothy Anderson.

Herbert Lawrence Trube, Jr. "Larry"
Herbert Lawrence Trube, Jr., age 70 of Oswego, IL, formerly of Memphis, TN, passed away at his home after a brave and determined battle with lung cancer. He was born in New York, N.Y on May 6, 1930, the son of Herbert L. and Sarah (Brethman) Trube.
As a boy, he grew up in Waterbury, CT where he graduated from Hill Prep. School and went on to Cornell University. born the son of an Olympian and educated in fine schools, Larry was both well read and well spoken.
After college, he became a hotel manager in Arizona for a short time before landing a job with Anaconda Copper and Brass. Analytical and calculating he had a mind for architecture and a gift of "Gab" that made him a natural for sales. In 1962, he began working for Monroe Business Systems where he really found his niche, selling machine systems to Fortune 500 companies. Retiring in 1985, Larry took on a new challenge as head of fraud investigations for Federal Express. It was a position he loved and at which he was very successful. Over the years, he had lived in Florida, Georgia and other southern states but in the early eighties he retired in Memphis, TN. Stricken with cancer in 1999 he returned to Illinois and to the care of his daughter, in December 2000.
A railroad buff, he was an ambitious model railroad builder and created a huge track system at his Memphis home. Larry was also an avid gardener and could talk for hours about his Azaleas and other flowers. His analytical mind was never at rest and in retirement he enjoyed matching wits with all manner of strategy games. Even in the last hours of his life, he was still working crossword puzzles and amazing those who sat by his side.
He is survived by three children Dawn (Jason) Gould of Oswego, IL; Holly L. Mickelson of Kansas City, MO and D. Craig Silvers of Lake in The Ozarks, MO.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, February 22, 2001 at the Community Congregational Church, Elburn, from noon until 2 P.M. His memorial service will begin at 2 P.M. and will be followed by interment committal services at Blackberry Cemetery, Elburn, immediately afterward.

Mary Ellen Zolper
Marry Ellen Zolper, 83, of Aurora, passed away quietly Friday, February 16, 2001 at Elmwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mary was born June 30, 1917 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late John and Jennie Stevenson.
Mary had been an employee of the City of Aurora working at the Aurora Police Department for 24 years. She worked in Community Services and she often spoke fondly of many people she worked with.
Surviving Mary are her sons Douglas (Mary Lou) Zolper of Scottsdale, AZ, Michael Zolper of Montgomery and her daughter Sandra Zolper of Aurora, two grandchildren Michelle Nuenkirchen of Montgomery and Stephen (Julie) Zolper, Sr. of Oswego, three great grandchildren Cory Nuenkirchen, Stephen Zolper Jr. and Tyler Zolper. Also a brother John (Ruth) Stevenson of Sun City West, AZ.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, former husband William L. Zolper, two sisters Roberta Sutherland and Jean Palmquist, and two grandchildren Mark Edward Zolper and Melissa Leigh Davidson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at 10 A.M. from The Healy Chapel with Rev. Gary McCann officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday February 20, 2001 from 3-8 P.M. also at the Chapel. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Bessie K. Braxton
Mrs. Bessie K. Braxton, 87, of Aurora passed away February 21, 2001 at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. She was born October 16, 1913 in Trenton, TN., to the late Stevie and Ninnie Conner.
Bessie received her license as a LPN in 1953 and worked at local hospitals and nursing homes until her retirement in 1985. Bessie was united in marriage to Moses Braxton in 1947 and they both joined Main Baptist Church in 1954, where she was an active member on the nurses aid board, missionary board and golden agers group until her health declined. She was a loving person who found joy in giving and helping others. She will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her niece whom she raised, Sheila Seward of Aurora; her nephew, Quaashie Orlu of Aurora; and several other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Moses Braxton in 1971.
Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM, February 24, 2001 at Main Baptist Church with Rev. Dezo McGill officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place.

Robert C. Burch Sr.
Age 79, of Montgomery, passed away quietly with his family by his side, Thursday, February 22, 2001, at Rush-Copley Hospital. He was born April 25th, 1921 in Aurora.
Mr. Burch was a member of Lord of Life Church, Montgomery V.F.W. Post #7452, Aurora Tiger Club, Aurora Eagles Club, Amvet Post #103, a member of the Navy League & a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
Mr. Burch is survived by his daughter: Judy (Gordon) Plohr of Oswego, 2 Sons; Robert (Sharon) Burch Jr. of West Chicago & Terry (Anne) Burch of Montgomery; 7 grandchildren: Missy (Chad) Memming of Aurora, Jason Plohr of Oswego, Justin (Melissa) Plohr of Montgomery, Lori (Tony) Bedwell of Oswego, Lisa (Chris) Mackey, Chris Burch & Rich Burch all of Montgomery; 6 great grandchildren: Tyler Memming of Aurora, Alyssa Plohr of Montgomery, Luke Bedwell & Abigale Bedwell both of Oswego, Joshua & Cody Mackey both of Montgomery; 3 Sisters: Eunice, Sarah & Jenny & one brother: John; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Albert Burch in 1994 & his parents: Irving C. & Marie (Meiser) Burch. Completed funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 So. Broadway, Montgomery, where friends may call from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 24th, 2001.

Alice A. Burkel
Alice A. Burkel, age 92 of Pewaukee, WI, formerly Waukesha and Aurora, IL, died Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at Riverhills West Nursing Home in Pewaukee, WI. She was born January 30, 1909 to Anton and Alice Mae (Wekerlin) Burkel in Aurora, Illinois.
Alice was a Junior High School Teacher in Aurora, Illinois.
Survivors include her sister, Edyth (Roger) Pence of Cazenovia, WI, her brother, Robert (Elaine) Burkel of Redding, CA, a niece, Stephanie Hopper of Waukesha, WI and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services were held and burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL.

Helen L. Gunsul
Helen L. Gunsul, 84, of Aurora passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2001, at Provena Mercy Center Hospital. She was born on June 14, 1916 in Aurora, the daughter of the late Harry and Pearl (Smith) Tiffany.
Helen was a life-long resident of Aurora. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. She was an active member of the P.T.A. for the West Aurora Schools and had served as secretary. Helen was a member of Claim Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include, two sons, David H. Gunsul of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Phillip (Linda) Gunsul of Montgomery; a daughter, Joyce Sivertsen of Aurora; two grandsons, Paul Gunsul of Montgomery and David Gunsul of Plano.
Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Gunsul in 1978.
A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery. There will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. Lula Marie Clark Hughes
Lula Marie Clark Hughes, 76, of Aurora and formerly of DeKalb, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at her home. She was born on August 21, 1924 in Walpole, Illinois, the daughter of Harley and Mary Susan (Russell) Gwaltney.
Lula retired from Western Electric in Montgomery after 22 years of service. Prior to that, she had worked at Brody's Coat Factory in DeKalb. She was an avid bowler and golfer and belonged to the Pioneer Club at Western Electric.
She is survived by her two daughters, Janice (Ed) Clark Olson of California and Hawaii and Donna Clark Wiggins of Aurora; three grandchildren, Blake Carroll of California, Tammy Wiggins of Naperville and Ryan Wiggins of DeKalb; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Wiggins of Naperville and Sarah Carroll of California; her beloved companion, Robert Gregg of Aurora; one sister, Ruby Miller Scott of St. Charles, MO.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ellis, James and Claudis Gwaltney.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2001 at 1:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with Chaplain Brenda M. Johnson of CNS Hospice officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
