Josette "Jodi" Shamasko
Josette "Jodi" Shamasko, age 58, Yorkville, Illinois after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on June 25, 1942 in Wiltz, Luxemburg the daughter of Marcel and Trini (Mathey) Karcher.
Jodi was united in marriage on March 10, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Robert Shamasko and they spent the next ten years of their lives together. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Mrs. Shamasko enjoyed several hobbies including painting lovely pictures with oils.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Yorkville, Illinois; her children, Ronald Steffens of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Dianna (David) Ptacek of Memphis, Tennessee, Kathleen (John) Provancal of Lockport, Illinois, Heidi (Garry) Witt of Downers Grove, Illinios, Valerie (Doug) Kemstra of New Berlin, Wisconsin; as well as twelve grandchildren.
Jodi is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services for Mrs. Shamasko will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2001 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, Illinois with Pastor Dan Gilbert of Cross Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Yorkville, Illinois.
Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2001 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway in Yorkville, Illinois.

Brian K. Janney
Brian K. Janney, 34, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Rush-Copley Medical Center. He was born February 15, 1967 in Sandwich, IL.
Brian was a community activist. He was active in speaking out, whether it was on his television program or in a large group setting. Brian was instrumental in setting up food drives as well as the AIDS memorial service each year. He started a not for profit organization named YES! We C.A.N.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Janney; father, William Janney; brother, William (Violet) Janney; his significant life partner, Robert Scott Lubert; five nieces; two great-nephews and a great-niece.
Brian was preceded in death by his sister Vicki Janney.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2001 from 3-9 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora. Services and interment will be private.

Anna Marie Meier
Anna Marie Meier, age 74 of Sandwich, Illinois passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Valley West Community Hospital, Sandwich, IL.
She was born December 3, 1926 in Ottawa, Illinois the daughter of Cornelius and Viola (McGraw) Kiley. Anna was united in marriage to Richard H. Meier on December 3, 1949 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sandwich, IL. She was a life long member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sandwich, IL. Her favorite pastime was watching basketball on TV, she was an avid fan. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends who will dearly miss her. She was the loving mother of two daughters Roxanne (Robert) Eickhoff of Somonauk, IL., and Rita Meier of Sandwich, IL., loving sister to her brothers, James Robert (Bev) Kiley of Sandwich, IL and Cornelius (Neil) Kiley of Sandwich, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard on May 16, 1999, an infant son, Richard Meier Jr., one sister Helen Davis, and two brothers, Thomas Howard and John Kiley.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 16, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sandwich, IL, Fr. Jack T. Heraty will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Queen of Angels Cemetery, Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2001 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burkhart Funeral Home, Sandwich, IL., with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Royce Corbin, Joe Davis, Jerry Kiley, Michael Kiley, Patrick Kiley and Ryan Orr. Paul Frederick Moser
Paul Frederick Moser, age 74 of Aurora, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva Illinois. He was born June 11, 1926 in Hammond, Indiana.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He was formerly employed by Cooper Tire in Findlay, Ohio and Anchor Swan of Bucyrus, Ohio. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Bucyrus, Ohio, attended the Congregational Church in Batavia, IL. He was a resident of Aurora, IL since 1993 and a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Moser is survived by his son Michael (Pamela) Moser of Aurora, IL, Four grandchildren Joshua and Jessica Moser, Brendan Larson, Jason (Melissa) Larson, a great-grandson Ryan Larson and a sister Barbara (Jim) Logsdon of Alvada, Ohio.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Ina P. in 1995.
Visitation will be Monday, April 16, 2001, 2-5 and 7-9pm at the Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima, Findlay, OH. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 am at Kirkpatrick Behnke Funeral Home with interment at Lee Cemetery, Vanlue, OH.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Congregational Church in Batavia, IL.

Robert W. Phillips
Robert W. Phillips, 82, of Batavia passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva.
He was born February 4, 1919 in Millington, IL to Jonas and Olga (Oddsen) Phillips. Robert was employed as a carpenter for many years. He was an avid bowler participating in several leagues and enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon (Kim) Carlson of Aurora; one son Gary (Diane) Phillips of St Charles; three grandchildren, Nicole (Rob) Thomas of Sheboygan Falls, WI., Grant Carlson of Aurora, Heather Phillips of Cape Carol, FL; two great-grandchildren ; and one sister, Mildred Johnson of Marseilles, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joyce; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001 at Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL. Rev. Gregory Fetzer will officiate and burial will be at River Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2001 at the Funeral Home. Eva (Maier) Erford
Eva Erford, 82, of Aurora died on Sunday, April 8, 2001 at Countryside Care Centre in Aurora. She was born on November 14, 1918 in Sugar Grove.
Eva worked at the Pictorial Paper Company during the war years and was a homemaker and wife for the remainder of her life. She was a member of St. Olaf's Lutheran Church in Montgomery. At the time of her death, she and Palmer had been married for 61 years.
She is survived by her husband, Palmer of Aurora and three sons, Dennis (Mary Ann) Erford of Batavia, Gary (Janet) Erford of Seattle, WA and Randy (Pat) Erford of Springfield, IL. She also has six grandchildren, Karen Erford of Chapel Hill, N.C., Andy Erford of Normal, IL, Kerry (Erford) Steinke of Seattle, WA, Dr. Shelly K. Erford of Seattle, Tim Erford of Seattle and Brenna Erford of Springfield, IL and many nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Myrtle Maier; two brothers and four sisters, all of whom grew up together on the family farm in Sugar Grove: Alfred Maier of Sugar Grove, Earl Maier of Sugar Grove, Anna (Maier) Davis of Big Rock, Ellen (Maier) Brown of Greenville, TN, Marian (Maier) Hage of Yorkville and Clara (Maier) McDonald of Aurora.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2001 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dieterle Memorial Home. 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the Dieterle Memorial Home with the Rev. Robert Kasperson officiating. Burial will take place at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.

Walter Carl "Pete" Bieritz
Walter Carl "Pete" Bieritz, age 88, of Yorkville passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora. He was born on September 19, 1912 in Yorkville, one of the twelve children of Herman and Wilhelmine "Minnie" (Freise) Bieritz, Sr.
Pete was united in marriage on September 23, 1939 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville to the former Elorn Julia Batorson; and they spent the next 61 happy years of their lives together. He was a loving husband and father, who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Mr. Bieritz was a life long member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville. He was a 1931 graduate of Yorkville High School. In his younger years, Pete enjoyed raising chickens. Mr. Bieritz was formerly employed by both Federal Huber in Plano and Kendall Farmers Oil in Yorkville. He was later employed at Stoner Manufacturing Company and Thor Pneumatic Tool Company, both in Aurora. Pete retired from Caterpillar Corporation in Montgomery in 1978, where he had worked for over 19 years as a tool and die maker. Pete had several hobbies including collecting antique tractors and model railroading.
He is survived by his wife, Elorn of Yorkville; his sons, David W. (Kathryn) Bieritz of Sterling, Virginia, Gerald L. (Sheryl) Bieritz of Tyler, Texas; as well as, several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bieritz is preceded in death by his parents; his five brothers, George, Gerhardt, Reuben, Erick and Herman Bieritz, Jr. and six sisters, Evelyn Hardecopf, Rhoda Bieritz, Anna Sullivan, Esther Bieritz, Irene Bieritz and Ruth Bieritz.
Funeral services for Mr. Bieritz will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2001 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville with Pastor John Leaf officiating. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Yorkville.

Gail E. Corneils
Gail E. Corneils, 44, of Sandwich, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2001 in University of Illinois Hospital, Chicago, awaiting a liver transplant. He was born July 16, 1956 in Aurora, IL, the son of Russell F. and Dorothy L. (Kuester) Corneils.
He graduated from Somonauk High School Class of 1974. He married Darla Millhouse on December 15, 1994 in Yorkville. He worked at Seaboard Seed in Bristol, Scott Wood and Metal in Oswego and most recently, Alexander Lumber in Oswego. Gail was an avid hunter and generally loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Darla of Sandwich; his mother, Dorothy Corneils of Somonauk; one son, Nicholas Corneils of Somonauk; three step-children, Deana, Nicole and David; a granddaughter, Torri Moore; three brothers, Ronald Wood of Necedah, WI, Jeffrey (Sue) Corneils of Yorkville and Jerrold Corneils of Sandwich and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell and one sister, Judy Simmons.
Memorial services will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2001 at the Turner Funeral Home in Somonauk with the Reverend Dennis Heaney officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2001 prior to the memorial service in the funeral home.

Fabienne Latreille
Fabienne Latreille, 82, of Batavia, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at Delnor Community Hospital Geneva, IL.
She was born August 3, 1918 in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of Jean Babtiste and Eva (nee Poitras) Plamondon. She was united in marriage to Maurice G. Latreille on July 8, 1940. Fabienne and her husband moved to Batavia in 1967 from Canada, where they owned and operated Maurice Latreille, Inc. The machine shop specialized in research. She was a member of Holy Cross Church in Batavia.
She is survived by four daughters, Helene Latreille, of Quebec City, Canada, Louise (George) Krafezyk, of Aurora, Illinois, Renee (David) Perna, of Danville, California and Suzanne (Bruce) Nelson, of Rochester Hills, Michigan; one son, John (Susan) Latreille, of Franklin, Tennessee; two sisters, Lucille Murphy, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Anette Hughes, of Montreal, Canada; and by her beloved 12 grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice G. Latreille in 1994.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2001 at the Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home in Batavia, where a liturgical wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2001 at Holy Cross Church in Batavia, where she will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass. The Rev. Stephen St. Jules will officiate. Private interment will be at Rive Hills Memorial Park in Batavia. Mary D. Beyer
Mary D. Beyer, 72 of Aurora passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at her home. She was born August 6, 1928 in Grinnell, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Beyer of Aurora; two daughters, Connie White of DesMoines, IA and Paula Ferrer of Aurora, IL; one son, Clifford Whitlatch of Aurora, IL; 4 grandchildren, Nicole White of Las Vegas, NV, Anthony White, Tracy Massengale and Robert Massengale all of DesMoines, IA; two great-grandchildren, Brian Massengale of DesMoines, IA and Morgan Lane Henderson of Ankeny, IA; her sister, Edith (Donald) Lynch of Anaheim, CA; one nephew; two nieces and a dear friend, Sr. Agnes Daniels, O.S.F.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Violet May (Kline) Streck; and one brother.
A Memorial Mass will be offered Monday, April 16, 2001 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, 430 E. Downer Place, Aurora, IL (630) 892-0480. Fr. David Palmatier, O.S.B. will officiate.
Memorial services and interment of ashes will take place in Grinnell, IA. There will be no visitation.

Reno J. Ferrario
Reno J. Ferrario, 72, of Aurora passed away on Friday, April 13, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora.
He was born December 29, 1928 in Aurora.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1954. He retired from Commonwealth Edison in 1991 after 37 years of service. Reno was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Aurora. He was a very active member of the Montgomery V.F.W. Post # 7452. He also belonged to the Tiger Club, the Phoenix Club, Amvets and was a former President of the Italian-American Club. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and spending time with his family. His many friends and family will sadly miss him.
Reno is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carol (Snodgrass); his sons, John (Terri) and Tom (Kathy); his daughters, Julie Ferrario and Susan (Ben) Moon; ten grandchildren, Venessa, John Jr, and Heather Ferrario, Mike and Sharon Hess, Benjamin and Austin Moon, Ryan Ferrario, Lauren Kuhlemeyer and Samuel Vinson; a sister, Josephine Fiefer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was precede in death by his parents, John and Johanna Ferrario; and a brother-in-law, Jack Fiefer.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 16, 2001 from 4 to 8 PM at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at 10 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Jones officiating.

Jerry Jones
Jerry Jones, 41, of Covington, Tenn., formerly of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 in Covington.
He was born Oct. 14, 1959 in New Albany, Miss.
He moved to Aurora in 1962 and was a graduate of East Aurora High School. He continued his studies and earned his certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Jerry accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Main Baptist Church. He moved to Covington and was a member of Covington Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rebecca of Covington; his mother Marjorie Smith of Aurora; a daughter, Maijoria Jones of Chicago; four brothers, James Allen Jones, Anthony Smith, Marcus Windham, all of Beloit, Wis. and Kenneth Smith of Aurora; two sisters, Mary Ann Smith and Liza Smith, both of Aurora; two god-daughters, Elecia Grandberry of Chicago and Brianna Tyus of Riple, Tenn.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert and Marie Jones; his uncle, William L. Jones; and his cousin, Michael Turner.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at Main Baptist Church, Pastor Dezo McGill officiating. Burial will be in Spring Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday in the church.

Eileen D. Kemmerer
Eileen D. Kemmerer, 95, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora. She was born on the family farm in Oswego on February 3, 1906.
Eileen enjoyed her piano and organ and was Bethany of Fox Valley United Methodist Church's children's department pianist for many years.
Survivors include one son, Don (Pat) Kemmerer of West Brooklyn, IL; one daughter, Ione (Robert) Van Dyke of Joliet; one sister in-law, Berneice Anderson of Largo, FL; eight grandchildren, Barbara Van Dyke of Joliet, Bev (Joe) Allen of Decatur, IL, Janet (Kirk) Schmeisser of St. Joe, MO, David (Judie) Van Dyke of Decatur, IL, Jill (Jerry) Waage of Des Moines, Iowa, Kurt (Marilyn) Kemmerer of Sublette, IL, Kari (Ernest) Grobe of Dixon, IL and Kevin Kemmerer of Dixon, IL; also 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Olive (Smith) Anderson; her husband, Ralph Kemmerer; one daughter in infancy; two brothers and one sister in-law, William (Rachel) Anderson and John Clark Anderson; two sisters and brothers in-law, Vivian (Ernest) Clausen and Leota (Bob) Swenson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 from 10 a.m. at the Bethany of Fox Valley United Methodist Church until the funeral hour of 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Harkness officiating.
Burial will take place at Wheatland United Presbyterian Cemetery in Wheatland Twp.
