Myrtle V. Rollins (nee White)
Passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2001 at home with her family by her side. She was born July 14, 1911, the daughter of George and Laura (nee Minear) White of Tall Gate, WV.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Enos Dotson and her second husband, Dale Rollins; her parents, one brother and four sisters.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Price of Shorewood and Wayne (Ruth) Dotson of WV; five grandchildren, Steve (Tina) Price of Verona, IL, Sandy (Bryan) Harrington of Earlsville, IL, Tana (Mike) Labuda of Joliet, IL, Monissa (Dan) Tanner of Mineral Wells, WV, and Mike Dotson of Belpre, OH; nine great-grandchildren, Cheryl (Mike) Connelly, Jerri (Tim) Zigler, Steve Price, Don and Timmy Harrington, Krysta, Ryan and Anthony Labuda, and Mike Dotson Jr., also one sister, Virginia Kinney of KY.
Her family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Eileen Davis and Dr. Margo Wolfe and to Joliet Area Community Hospice, especially Linda and Susanne.
A memorial service will be held at the Grant-Tapella-Freitag Westwood Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 18, 2001 at 8:30 PM. Pastor Dave Hedlin officiating. Private inurnment in Belpre, Ohio at a later date. Her family will receive relatives and friends at Westwood Memorial Chapel on Thursday evening from 6 pm until the time of services.

Rosemary Smrekar "Rosie" nee Markwenas
Age 55. At rest Monday, January 15, 2001 at Silver Cross Hospital.
Survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, James F. Smrekar; loving mother of Clinton (Rana) of Joliet and Mollie Smrekar of New Lenox; dearest grandmother of Tayler and Natalie Smrekar; dear mother, Phyllis (nee Graves) Markwenas; mother-in-law, Elizabeth (Edward deceased) Smrekar; two brothers, Phillip (Evelyn) of Arkansas and Bradley Markwenas of New Lenox. Also survived by numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her father, Anthony Markwenas (1989); father-in-law, Edward Smrekar (1991); and a brother, Larry Markwenas (1999).
Rosemary was born in Chicago, resided in New Lenox since 1952. Was employed for New Lenox School District (Bentley), Member of Caterpillar Camping Club.

Rev. McOldham Ward "Mac"
Of Shorewood, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Retired Elder of the Church of the Nazarene. born to Ralph and Ida Lee Ward on July 27, 1911 in Bedford, KY. A United States World War II Army Veteran serving in the Signal Corp as a radio operator, honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant.
Survived by his wife, Leora B. (nee Watson) Ward; three sons, Harold (Judy) Ward, Dennis (Sandra) Ward and Robert (Lavern) Ward; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris (nee Kent) Gosman.
Preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Chester Ward.
Funeral services for Rev. McOldham Ward will be Friday, January 19, 2001 at 11 AM at the West Chapel. Rev. Lindy Russell officiating. Committal prayers at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel, Rev. Robert Watson officiating with final interment at Hills of Rest Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 2-8 PM at:

Michael Fitzgerald Brown
Age 41. Suddenly Wednesday, January 17, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident.
Born in Joliet and a long time Joliet area resident. A graduate of the College of St. Francis, Joliet Catholic High School and St. Jude Grade School. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus. Michael's greatest enjoyment was being outdoors with his family and friends. For all who knew him, Michael's passion and reason for living were his wife, children, family and friends.
Survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Carol (nee Batis) Brown; three children, Timothy Fitzgerald (age 13), Thomas Michael (age 11) and Kathleen Batis Brown (age 8), all of Joliet; his parents, Bill and Betty (Fitzgerald) Brown of Joliet; one brother, Kevin (Stacey) Brown of Elburn, IL; two sisters, Mary (Bill) Whitmer and Meg (Nick) Honiotes, both of Joliet; his parents-in-law, Ed and Irene Batis of Joliet; three brothers-in-law, Ed Jr. (Kathy) Batis of San Antonio, Joe (Sandy) Batis and Jim (Sue) Batis, both of Joliet; three sisters-in-law, Kathy (Roger) Tibble of Wheaton, Judy (Joe) Stengele of Joliet and Ann (Dan) Kinsella of Wheaton. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends also survive.
Preceded in death by close family members and friends, especially his loving cousin, Mary Margaret Broderick.
Michael F. Brown will lie in state on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave. from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. David B. Dunn
Age 49. Passed away suddenly Sunday, January 14, 2001 as the result of a heart attack. born in Honalulu, HI March 7, 1951. He was an accomplished musician. He played lead guitar in several rock and roll bands. A 1969 graduate of Reedsport High School in Reedsport, OR. Served in the U.S. Air Force for 15 years. He was an avid collector of music, especially the Beatles. Employed by Target in Olympia, WA and Joliet, IL where he will be missed by his many friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor.
Survived by his children, Kris and Mayumi Dunn both of Tacoma, WA; his mother, Jean Dunn of Sandy, UT; two sisters, Karen of Sandy, UT and Barbara of Brookville, MD; his grandson, Lance; one niece; three nephews and his soul-mate Kathy and her children, Keri and Jason all of Joliet.
Preceded in death by his father, Raymond E. Dunn.

Eric T. Dvorak
Age 29, of Joliet, formerly of Lemont, died January 17, 2001.
Born in Lemont, residing in Joliet for the past four years. Employed by Seneca Petroleum, Lemont, for the past 12 years.
Survived by his wife, Crystal; two step-sons, Todd and Shane Moyemont; his parents, George and Sandy Dvorak of Lemont; a brother, Greg; a sister, Gina Dvorak both of Lemont; his grandmother, Virginia Dvorak of Lockport; two aunts, Ginny Keller and Joyce Dvorak; and uncle, Wayne (Kathy) Dvorak; and three cousins, Christopher, Patrick, and David Dvorak.
Funeral services Saturday, January 20, 2001, 2:00 p.m. at the MARKIEWICZ FUNERAL HOME, 108 Illinois St., Lemont. Visitation Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Age 35, Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
Beloved husband and father of Sharie (Vaughn) Fischer and Alexandrea D. Fischer; cherished son of Gregory and Charlotte (Topp) Sprinkle, fond brother of Edward P. Fischer and two sisters, Rhonda K. Sprinkle and Sandra (Hamp) Wintermute. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Born in Ft. Wayne, IN, raised in New Haven, IN, a Joliet area resident for the past four years. Graduate of New Haven High School. U.S. Army Veteran serving in the 82nd Airbourne. Employed by Smurfit Stone.

Passed away at Rosewood Care Center, Tuesday, January 16, 2001.
Survived by his wife Raysa (nee Sarapajeva) George. A brother Charles (Rose) George of Marseilles, IL. and a sister Anna Mae (Richard) Todd of Morris, IL. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his first wife Margaret (1997), and a brother Walter George.
Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy SeeBee's. Member of V.F.W. Cantigny Post #367. Member of Grace United Methodist Church. Former member of Ottawa Street United Methodist Church. Retired from Commonwealth Edison. Past Master of Mt. Joliet Lodge #42/Matteson Lodge #175 A.F. & A.M. (1962-1963). Member of the Medinah Temple AAONMS, Joliet Shrine Club.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, January 20, at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Barb Donica officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.

Margaret F. Gollick (Nee McManamon)
Age 77. Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. born in Joliet and a lifelong Rockdale resident. Retired from Folger-Adams Company after 10 years of service. Formerly employed by the American Can Company in Rockdale. A member of the Stone City Post VFW #2199 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survived by three daughters, Donna Reed of Las Vegas, NV, Deborah Luce of Barefoot Bay, FL and Kathleen (William) Wirtz of Rockdale. Two sons, Joseph Gollick and Michael Gollick both of Rockdale. Twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Francis (Dorothey) McManamon of California and Bernard (Shirley) Huminsky and Walter Huminsky both of Chicago. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded by her parents, brothers and one son Russell Gollick (1996).
Private funeral services for Margaret I. Gollick were held. At her request cremation rites were accorded. NO VISITATION. Arrangements by:

Rita R. Hicks nee Conery
Age 66, late of Romeoville, Thursday, January 18, 2001 at her late residence.
Born in Michigan, living in Romeoville since 1968. Employed by the Catholic Diocese of Joliet for 24 years, retiring in 2000. Member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Romeoville CCW. Rita enjoyed ceramics for several years.
Preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruby (King) Conery; and two brothers, Albert and Morris Conery.
Survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Denise (David) Richards of Romeoville and Dennis (Laurie) of Lockport; three grandchildren, Megan, Erin and Jason; two brothers, James (Peg) Conery of Wisconsin and Mike (Kay) Conery of Michigan; and a sister, Beverly (Bob) Chartier of Michigan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Hospice or St. Andrew's Building Fund would be appreciated.
