Earl R. Hartley
Age 81. Passed away Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Retired from Illinois Bell Telephone in 1982 following many years of service. Member of Grace United Methodist Church; life member of SBC-Ameritech Telephone Pioneers of America and VFW Stone City Post #2199. Veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the Philippines. Mr. Hartley was a volunteer for many years with Fish of Joliet, the SBC-Telephone Pioneers of America and the Meals on Wheels program.
Preceded in death by his wife, Emma E. Hartley; one brother, Donald Hartley; one sister, Esther Deadmore-Walls; his "girls", Misty and Sparkle.
Survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved companion, Ellen Johnson.
At his request, cremation rites were accorded with inurnment at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. A memorial Service for Earl R. Hartley will be held on Friday, January 24,2003 at 6:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church. Rev. Barbara Good officiating. Memorials in his memory to the TLC Animal Shelter, 13016 W. 151st St., Lockport, IL 60441 or Grace United Methodist Church, 1718 Avalon, Joliet, IL 60435 would be appreciated.

Henri Ola Johnson
Age 70 of Joliet, IL. Passed away Sunday, January 19, 2003 at Salem Village after a courageous battle against several illnesses. born August 5, 1932 to the late Henry and Ella Mae Allen. born and raised in Jasper County, MS. She has called Joliet her home since 1959. She was an extremely involved member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband, Eugene Johnson, one daughter, Linda K. Ulmer-Taylor of Joliet, one son, Winford (Rosa) Ulmer of Goldsboro, N.C., one granddaughter, Javann M. Ulmer of Minneapolis, MN, two brothers, Winford C. Allen of Meridian, MS and Harmon Lee Allen of Pepper Pike, OH, three aunts, Indiana "Black Eye" Bryant of Chicago, IL, Mrs. Alice Allen of Laurel, MS and Idella Harmon of Robbins, IL, brothers-in-law, Sylvester (Willa "Sweet") Johnson of Joliet, IL, Ted Lincoln, sisters-in-law, Nellie (James) Ingram of Joliet, IL, Ruth Richardson and Mae Ella Williams of Memphis, TN, Alma Roberts of McKenney, VA and Gertha Johnson, fifteen step-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2003 from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home and 6-7 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 200 Rev. Walton Drive, Lockport, IL. Homegoing Service at 7 p.m. Pastor Richard D. House officiating. Interment Saturday, January 25, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Elmhurst Cemetery.

Ruby H. Murray (nee Hill)
Age 80. Saturday, January 18, 2003 at Joliet Terrace Nursing Home. born May 3, 1922 in East Peoria, IL; and living in Joliet most of her life. Past President and active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Cantigny Post VFW #367; past President of the Early Bird Bowling League and past President of the PTA of Carl Sandburg Grade School.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Raymond L. Murray of Joliet; son David L. (Lenora) Murray of Hazen, AR; two daughters, Barbara (Richard) Conklen of Stockton, IL and Pam Murray of Downers Grove; grandchildren, Deanna (Steven) Elmendorph, Larry (Amy) Murray, Susan (Kevin) Kaehlert, Debbie (David) Bergmann; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Kimberley Elmendorph; Colin and Lindsey Murray; Madison Bergmann and Jordon Kaehlert; one sister, Fern (Leo) Keeney of Shorewood. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mildred Hill; grandson, John Conklen.
Funeral services for Ruby H. Murray will be Friday, January 24, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Rev. Peter Holmer officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. George F. Renwick
Age 86. Sunday January 19, 2003 at his home. born June 3, 1916 in Wasco, IL, he was raised in Elgin, IL and resided in Joliet the past 63 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Evelyn M. (nee Hartman) Renwick; beloved father of Darlene (Dr. Warren) Wunderlich of Joliet and Judith (late Claude) Smith of St. Petersburg, Fl; dear grandfather of Joan (Thomas) Hubbell of Seminole, FL, Gregory (Cheryl) Wunderlich of Portage, MI and Dr. Andrew (Melissa) Wunderlich of Joliet; proud great-grandpa of Kristin and James Hubbell; Cole, Grant and Grace Wunderlich. Also survived by one brother, Robert (Mildred) Renwick of Elgin, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and four brothers.
Mr.Renwick was a retired automobile dealer. He owned and operated Renwick Motor Sales on Scott Street for many years. He was involved in several community activities and was a former Businessman of the Year.
Funeral services for George F. Renwick will be Thursday, January 23, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Hills of Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Henry (Lois) "Jean" Smith
Lois "Jean" Smith, 79 of rural Minooka, IL died Sunday Morning January 19, 2003 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday January 22, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Morris, IL with Rev. Robert Claus officiating.Burial will take place in the Saratoga Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 21, 2003 at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 west Jefferson Street, Morris IL from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
She was born on December 1, 1923 in Joliet IL and was the daughter of James and Isabelle (Gotts) Frazer. She graduated from Joliet Township High School and later attended Joliet Junior College. On April 3, 1943 she married Henry Smith at the Marley Community Church in Marley, IL. They lived most of their married life in rural Minooka, farming. For several years she was employed at the Art Peacock Fertilizer Co, as a rural carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Morris, and as a teller at the First National Bank of Morris.
She is survived by four daughters, Barbara (Kenneth) Olson of Minooka, IL, Mary Lou (William) Mitchell of Creal Springs, IL, Susan (Tom) Remley of Thompsonville, IL, and Patricia Roos of Creal Springs, IL; a son, William (Mary) Smith of Minooka IL; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Francis of Bradford, OH; and a sister-in-law, Helen (Jack) Santa Cruz, of Cartersville, GA; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry in 1993; a grandson, Cory Householder, a great-granddaughter, Ashley Thorsen, a son-in-law Gary Householder, two sisters, Helen Frazer and Frances Hull.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morris. Preferred forms of memorials are gifts to the First Presbyterian Church or the Grundy Community Hospice .

Hazel Taylor
Hazel L. Taylor, age 61, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2003. Hazel was born in Sharon, MS on January 26, 1941 to the late Albert and Minnie Carson. She was a Joliet resident for 35 years and a dedicated employee of Silver Cross Hospital for 23 years.
She is survived by her husband, Will of Joliet, IL, two daughters, Reaneat Harper (Oliver Jr.) of Shorewood, IL and Demetria Foster (James) of Joliet, IL, two grandchildren, three sisters, Radell Lucket, (Sharon, MS), Maggie Brown, (Chicago, IL) and Georgia Johnson, (Chicago, IL) and numerous nieces and nephews and a very special aunt, Catherine Williams of Joliet, IL.
Hazel was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church. The Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 200 Rev. Walton Drive, Lockport, at 10 a.m. Visitation Friday, January 24, 2003, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church of Lockport. Entombment at the Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery, 23060 W. Jefferson, Joliet.

Victoria L. Weidling
52, of Wilmington, IL passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at her home.
Born March 21, 1951 in Joliet, IL to Ann and the late Robert Weidling, she was a graduate of Wilmington High School - class of 1970 and former employee of the Ben Franklin Store in Wilmington. She greatly enjoyed the fine arts, horseback riding and antiques.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Noelle Kurth of Arizona, former husband and friend Jack Kurth, mother Ann (Tom) Hillis, three brothers: Bob, Bill (Vicki) and Henry (Stacey) Weidling, all of Wilmington, two sisters, Susan (Lou) Baker of Indiana and Marianne (Chris) Quirk of Wilmington, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Ralph.
Visitation will be held at the REEVES FUNERAL HOME IN WILMINGTON on Thursday, January 23, 2003 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will then follow on Friday, January 24, 2003 at 10 a.m. with a family friend, Al Zlomie officiating.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington, IL.
Memorials of the donor's choice appreciated.

Age 59. At rest Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Silver Cross Medical Center. born in Jalisco, Mexico. Roberto enjoyed playing soccer and was an avid soccer fan. Member of the ASSOCIACION DE FUTBOL DEL ESTADO DE JALISCO LA GARITA.
Survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Elvira (nee Patino); his children, Roberto Jr. (Raquel), Jorge, Adriana (Eric) Littrell, Yanet (Jose Luis), Veronica, Guadalupe, Fabio, Melisa, Miguel, Diego, Crystal and Anel; seven grandchildren, Sabrina Soraya Aguilar, Jose Luis Rojas Jr., Bonai and Eric Littrell Jr., Selena and Sierra Aguilar; sister, Otilia Aguilar; brothers, Maximiliano Magana and Pedro Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins of the Avina, Arias, Muniz, Garcia and Cisneros families.
Preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Ermelinda Aguilar and a brother, Jose Aguilar.

Marilyn Mae Buell
Age 67, of Niland CA, passed away Wed. Jan. 17, of natural causes at her home in Niland, CA. She was born Nov. 4, 1933 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Tody L. Bull and Edna Irene Vickery.
Survivors include her children, Frank Cary of Minooka, IL, Debra McCarthy of Phoenix, AZ, Cathy Stam of Athol, ID and John Collins of Niland, CA; a sister, Dora Vause of Hopkinsville, KY; seven grandchildren, Michele, Brandie, John Wayne, Josh, Jerica, John and Clayton; two great grandchildren, Brianna and Alyssa and a longtime companion, Cecil Binder.
Preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Stephanie.
Services were celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 at the Chamber of Commerce Building, Niland, CA, with Pastor Ray McKinley officiating. Private family disposition.

Marie A. Cherven (nee) Stimac
Age 79. At rest Sunday, January 21, 2001, Provena Villa Franciscan.
Loving mother of two sons, Joseph and David Cherven; and a daughter Michelle Cherven; dearest grandmother of Francine Riley and Fred Cherven; special great granddaughter, Ashley Love; three sisters, Agnes (Herman) Zefran, Bernice (Frank deceased), Bostjancic, Carol (Gerald) Bebar; three brothers, William (Jessie), Raymond (Viola) and Ralph Stimac; two sisters-in-law, Josephine (Rudolph deceased), Mae (Joseph deceased) Stimac; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded by her husband, Joseph E. Cherven (1958); parents, Francis and Veronica (nee) Malnar Stimac; three brothers, Joseph, Rudolph and Francis Stimac.
Marie was born in Joliet and a life long resident. She enjoyed taking care of her home and family, and was a self employed hair stylist from 1937 to 1990. Member of the Jo Anites.
