FARMINGTON - Pauline Benson, 89, 708 E. Fort St., died at 6:02 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2002) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home, Farmington, is in charge of arrangements.

BARTONVILLE - Archie L. Combs, 81, Bartonville, died at 10:33 p.m. Monday (Jan. 7, 2002) at home. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

BELVIDERE - Trevor Wesley Garman, 21, 552 Beloit Rd., formerly of Galesburg, died at 8:23 p.m. Monday (Jan. 7, 2002) at St. Anthony Medical Center. Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg, is in charge of arrangements.

WATAGA - Richard M. Rommel, 88, 856 Knox Rd., died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2002) at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

NEW WINDSOR - J. Arthur Vanstrom, 98, New Windsor, died Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2002) at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home, Alpha, is in charge of arrangements.

Jeannette S. Boyd
April 3, 2005
RARITAN - Jeannette S. Boyd, 64, Raritan, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday (April 1, 2005) in McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
She was born Dec. 15, 1940, in Raritan, the daughter of Vincent D. and Joyce Duncan Arnold.
She married Richard D. Boyd on Oct. 20, 1963, in Raritan.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Tim (and Annie) Boyd, Raritan; two daughters, Toni (and Kyle) Hendrickson, Media, and Tammy (and Peter) Westin, Crest Hill; two brothers, Lewis Arnold and Dennis Arnold, both of Raritan; three sisters, Lorraine Johnson and Robert Hanger, both of Raritan, and Loma Schafer, Island Falls, Maine; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
She was raised around Raritan and lived in San Diego while her husband was in the Navy. She lived most of her life in Raritan.
She was employed at LaMoine Christian Nursing Home, Roseville.
She was a member of Raritan Baptist Church.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Raritan Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Oliver officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
A memorial fund has been established.

Marian I. Donaldson
February 16, 2004
MAQUON - Marian I. Donaldson, 71, Maquon, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 15, 2004) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital of natural causes.
She was born March 24, 1932, in Ontario Township, Knox County, the daughter of Walter W. and Laura E. Peterson Wilmot.
Surviving are three brothers, James Wilmot, Knoxville, L. Ned (and Glendel) Wilmot, North Aurora, and C. Dean (and Charlotte) Wilmot, Minnetonka, Minn.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
She served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 10, 1952, to Sept. 1, 1953.
She lived most of her life in Maquon.
She worked at Admiral Manufacturing, retiring in 1985, and owned Marian's Other Place from 1987 to 1994.
She was a member of Roy Miller American Legion Post 644 in Fairview and the Farmington Moose Lodge.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Maquon United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Marilyn Anell and Dan Doty officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Maquon. Burial will be in Maquon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Maquon United Methodist Church Sunday school.

GALESBURG - Dean M. Steiner, 42, 363 N. Cherry St., died at 7:13 p.m. Thursday (March 31, 2004) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital of natural causes.
Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, is in charge of arrangements.

Walter Ferris

GALESBURG - Walter Ferris, 76, 514 Monmouth Blvd., died at 8:20 p.m. Friday (July 30, 2004) in Seminary Manor.
Arrangements are pending at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.

Guyomia H. Paige
August 1, 2004
GALESBURG - Guyomia H. Paige, 99, 1015 E. South St., died at 8:08 a.m. Friday (July 30, 2004) in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 22, 1905, in Galesburg, the daughter of Guy and Edith Rhodes Gash.
She married Sylvester Lee Paige on Oct. 26, 1923, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death in August 1953.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth (and Lindell E. Sr.) Goodman and Patricia (and Alfonso Sr.) Pugh, both of Galesburg; one brother, Tony Gash, Galesburg; 37 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 45 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; a great-aunt, Thelma Gash, Denver; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, a stepson, a grandson, a brother and four sisters.
She attended Galesburg schools. She was a homemaker. She was a lab assistant at OSF St. Mary Medical Center for several years. She then worked as a nurse's aide at the former Americana Nursing Center in Galesburg for several years, retiring in 1972.
She was a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Galesburg, where she was a member of the choir and an usher. She was a member of the Phyllis Wheatly Club.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the Rev. John Fuller officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church.

GALESBURG - Diana L. Aaronson, 35, 580 Iowa Ave., died at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 4, 2003) at home.
She was born Sept. 5, 1968, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Charles R. and Sheryl Minteer Aaronson.
Surviving are her father of Austin, Texas; her mother, Sheryl (and Bob) Dhabalt, Gray, Ga.; three daughters, Jeri Lynn Sharum, Jennifer Sharum and Julie Bowers, all of Gray, Ga.; her grandfather, Richard Hilligoss, Aledo; and two brothers, Bill Aaronson, Woodhull, and Mike Aaronson, Coal Valley.
Funeral will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Watson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel Siems officiating. No visitation is planned. Cremation will follow the service. Burial will be later.

Adams Jr., Norman

GALESBURG - Norman Adams Jr., 74, 1797 Newcomer Ave., died at 6 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 6, 2003) in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 19, 1929, in Garrad County, Ky., the son of Norman Sr. and Mable Benge Adams.
He married Marcella L. Greenwood on Sept. 3, 1949, in Alexis.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Pat Adams, Peoria, Dennis (and Patty) Adams, Fishers, Ind., Mike (and Anna) Adams, Tulsa, Okla., and Mark Adams, Casper, Wyo.; two daughters, Kathleen (and Steve) Wilson, Casper, Wyo., and Mary Adams, Galesburg; six sisters, Linda (and Tom) Underwood, Stella (and Cecil) Skinner and Joan Mahnesmith, all of Galesburg, Edith (and Max) Salsbury, Dunnegan, Mo., Betty (and Frank) McKinzie, Midway, Ark., and Marilyn (and David) Grimm, Canyon City, Mo; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and a great-grandchild.
He served in the Army Air Corps.
He worked as a truck driver for 36 years at the former Burlington Chicago Cartage and Tobler Transfer Co., both in Galesburg, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the local Teamster's union.
He was of Baptist faith.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, where visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.

Adamson, Myrna B.

NEW WINDSOR - Myrna B. Adamson, 66, New Windsor, died Friday (Feb. 6, 2004) in her home.
She was born Nov. 27, 1937 in Biggsville, the daughter of Charles and Frances Gibb Stotts. After the death of her mother, she was raised by her step-mother Martha Morris Adamson.
She married Carl E. Adamson on Nov. 13, 1955 in Milan.
Surviving are her husband; her father, Rock Island; two sons, Gary (and Karen) Adamson, Alpha, and Michael (and Kelly) Adamson, New Windsor; five sisters, Evelyn Johnson, Crockett, Texas, Carol Burgner, Springfield, Ohio, Patricia Stuart, Clearwater, Fla., Margaret Sierra, Rock Island and Dottie Brennen, Clearwater; two brothers, Ronnie Stotts, Bowling Green, Ky. and Bill Stotts, Surf Side Beach, S.C.; a step-brother, Al Koeller, Chippewa Falls, Wis.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, step-mother and a sister, Doris Hummer
She attended schools in Rock Island, graduating from South High School in Omaha, Neb. She worked as an operator for Illinois Bell in Rock Island and retired as an engineer after 30 years. She volunteered for the Sherrard and Alwood School districts and tutored at Carl Sandberg College.
She was a member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church, the Telephone Pioneers Club, the United Way, Mercer County Horse Bowl and Judging Team, the New Windsor Drill Team and the Illinois High School Rodeo Association. She was active in the Saddle Teens 4H Club, having been a leader for 28 years.
Funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the New Windsor Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Joyce Basler officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in the church. Burial is in the New Windsor Cemetery. Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home, Alpha, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Mercer County 4-H Federation or the New Windsor Presbyterian Church.
