GALESBURG - Anastacia M. Mejia, 66, 858 S. Henderson St., died at 7:52 p.m. Monday (April 5, 2004) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born Dec. 25, 1937, in Altona, the daughter of Antonio and Guadalupe Portales Perales.
She married Frank Mejia in Galesburg. He died in 1998.
Surviving are a son, Andrew Kidd, Boiser City, La.; a daughter, Virginia Maxine Parks, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a brother, Joseph Perales, Laredo, Texas; a sister, Carmen Alfaro, Galesburg; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
She worked in the kitchen at the Huddle in Galesburg for many years and also worked in the kitchen at Cottonwood Nursing Home.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society, and a member of the 3rd Order of the Carmelites.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Presley officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Meleney, Mary M.
January 15, 2004
MONMOUTH - Mary Marguerite Meleney, 91, Monmouth, died at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004) in Seminary Manor, Galesburg.
Turnbull Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Melton, Patsy J.
October 30, 2003
GALVA - Patsy J. Melton, 68, Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Galva, died at 5:38 a.m. Oct. 23, 2003, in Banner Desert Medical Center, Mesa.
She was born May 9, 1935, in Ajo, Ariz., the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Wood Robertson.
She married Dale Melton on Jan. 15, 1953, in Tolleson, Ariz. He died July 10, 1992.
Surviving are two sons, Joe Melton and John (and Jenifer) Melton, both of Mesa; two daughters, Mary (and Chuck) Girven, Albuquerque, N.M., and Kate (and Wayne) Skaloud, Galva; a stepson, Walter Melton, Phoenix, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Janey (and Rick) Ralph, Pleasant Ridge, Ky.; a brother, Larry (and Penny) Robertson, Swanee, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services were Saturday in Tolleson Christian Church, Tolleson, Ariz. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Clover Chapel Cemetery near Woodhull, with Tony Gaff officiating. Rux Funeral Home, Galva, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the children's department at the Galva Public Library.

Mercado, Mary

GALESBURG - Mary Mercado, 90, Galesburg, died at 10:25 a.m. Thursday (March 18, 2004) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Watson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mesecher, Mildred P.
January 4, 2004
TERRE HAUTE - Mildred P. Mesecher, 87, Terre Haute, died at 6:15 p.m. Friday (Jan. 2, 2004) in the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center, Stronghurst.
She was born June 20, 1916, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Arthur and Mary Strand Olson.
She married Ross C. Mesecher on March 30, 1937. They later divorced.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Lou Housh, Mount Pleasant, Iowa; two sons, Ross (and Deloris) Mesecher, Stronghurst, and Art (and Ginny) Mesecher, Carman; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister.
She lived most of her life in the Terre Haute area and was a graduate of Terre Haute High School.
She worked at the Lomax Canning Factory and was a cook and drove a school bus for Terre Haute High School. She later was head cook at LaHarpe High School for 20 years.
She was a member of Terre Haute United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Banks & Beals Funeral Home, Stronghurst, with the Rev. Steven Blair officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Terre Haute Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center and Terre Haute United Methodist Church.

Mewes, Margaret A.
February 20, 2004
BURLINGTON, Iowa - Margaret Ann "Mickey" Mewes, 60, Burlington, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 15, 2004) in Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa.
She was born Sept. 30, 1943, in Nauvoo, the daughter of Sherman and Bonnie Jessie Sellers Hutson.
She married Patrick William Mewes on Oct. 6, 1962, in Burlington.
Surviving are a daughter, Tracy Parks, Burlington; her mother, Bonnie Jessie Berry, Avon; and a brother, Jerry Hutson, Little Swan Lake. She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Mewes, her father, her stepfather, Frank Berry, and a brother.
She graduated from Roseville High School in 1961.
She worked in production at I.A.A.P. and as a tolltaker on MacArthur Bridge.
She was of Catholic faith.
Funeral was Thursday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Maurice Moore officiating. Burial was in Long Creek Cemetery, Danville, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Long Creek Cemetery.

Jean N. Miller
October 29, 2003
BELOIT, Wis. - Jean N. Miller, 80, Beloit, died Sunday (Oct. 26, 2003) at home.
She was born April 29, 1923, in Beloit, the daughter of John H. and Genevieve H. Clark Cullen.
She married James W. Miller on June 11, 1945, in Galesburg.
Surviving are her husband; her children, Timothy Miller and Lynn Klaetsch, both of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Mary G. Lowman, Galesburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Janet Lee Miller, and two brothers.
She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Galesburg and attended Hunter College in New York City.
She was a Navy veteran, stationed in Norfolk, Va.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Schoenfeld Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, Wis., with military honors by Meade Allen VFW Post 2306.

Miller, Lucille

LITTLE YORK - Lucille Miller, 88, Little York, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 17, 2004) in LaMoine Christian Nursing Home, Roseville.
She was born March 21, 1915, in Little York, the daughter of Glenn and Edna Hollingsworth Jackson.
She married William Miller on Feb. 14, 1938, in Burlington, Iowa. He died Nov. 24, 1997.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Pauline Shoemaker, Monmouth; a brother-in-law, Eugene (and Marcelyn) Miller, Monmouth; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was reared and educated in Little York and Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School.
She farmed with her husband in Warren County and Bald Bluff Township in Henderson County. She also worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at the Warren County Farm Bureau for 20 years.
She was a 4-H leader for several years.
She had been a member of Fairview Center EUB (United Methodist) Church and Fall Creek United Methodist Church and was a member of Little York United Methodist Church. She was active with Gideon International.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, with the Rev. Suzanne Geer officiating. Friends may call Friday at the funeral home; family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Monmouth Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Little York United Methodist Church or Gideon International.

Milliron, Raymond E.
January 23, 2004
ROSEVILLE - Raymond E. Milliron, 86, Roseville, died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 22, 2004) in LaMoine Christian Nursing Home.
He was born Oct. 13, 1917, in Kellerville, the son of Orval and Elizabeth Domican Milliron.
He married Henrietta Yeakey on Jan. 20, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Dallas (and Karen) Milliron, Rock Falls; two daughters, Janice (and Michael) Zuspann, East Peoria, and Karen (and David) Sheik, Machesney Park; a sister, Marguerite Meyers, Quincy; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
He was raised in Kellerville and moved to Bowen after his marriage.
He farmed in Point Pleasant Township, Warren County, from 1944 until 1985. He moved to Roseville in 1991.
He was a member of Kellerville Christian Church.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Corman Memorial Home, with the Rev. Tim Randall officiating. Friends may call after noon Sunday and until the service Monday at the funeral home; family will be present from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Roseville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Roseville Christian Church.

Millizer, Allen J.

RAINBOW CITY, Ala. - Allen Jay Millizer, 32, Rainbow City, Ala., died Thursday (Nov. 20, 2003) at his home.
He was born July 20, 1971, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Lyman Millizer and Deana Lawson.
He married Kathy Barber in 1996.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Lauren, and one son, Garrett; his parents, Lyman Millizer, Burlington, Iowa, and Deana Lawson, Oquawka; two brothers, Dean (and Kris) Millizer, West Burlington, Iowa, and Keith Millizer, Oquawka; and one sister, Sheila Owens, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1990.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds, Ala. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Milroy, Patricia L.
October 23, 2003
CLYMAN, Wis. - Patricia L. Milroy, 57, Clyman, died Tuesday (Oct. 21, 2003) in Watertown Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 30, 1946, in Canton, the daughter of John and Mary McVay Schulz.
She married John W. Milroy on Aug. 28, 1971, in Farmington.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Melody (and Bill Stremkowski) Milroy, Amherst Junction, Wis.; a son, John P. Milroy, Watertown, Wis.; a brother, John "Jack" (and Marty) Schulz, Wataga; a sister, Frieda (and Bill) Talbert, Normal; and her mother-in-law, Lois P. Milroy, Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
She attended grade school in Farmington and graduated from Canton High School in 1964 and from Bradley University in 1988 with degrees in nutrition and dietetics.
She was a member of Community of Christ Church in Madison, Wis., and had been a youth group leader. She was a member of the American Rabbit Breeders, the Wisconsin Rabbit Breeders and the American Dutch Club; a former member of ABWA in Peoria; a former 4-H leader; and a volunteer with the Watertown Hospital Auxiliary.
Services will be at 7 p.m Friday in Community of Christ Church, with the Rev. Scott Sinclair officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Victoria Cemetery. Hafemeister Funeral Home, Watertown, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Greater Madison Chapter, 2949 N. Mayfair Road 306, Milwaukee, WI 53222; or to Community of Church Church, 5110 Kevins Way, Madison, WI.

Minton, Donna E.
October 18, 2003
KEWANEE - Donna E. Minton, 75, Kewanee, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday (Oct. 17, 2003) at the home of her daughter in Hudson.
She was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Atkinson, the daughter of Virgil and Blanche Bickers DeReu.
She married William J. "Bill" Minton Sr. on May 14, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo. He died Sept. 17, 2000.
Surviving are one son, William James Minton Jr., Kewanee; two daughters, Pamela Murphy, LaFayette, and Debbie (and Bob) Hewitt, Hudson; two brothers, Robert "Tuffy" (and Jackie) DeReu and Rich (and Doris) DeRue, both of Kewanee; one sister, Kathy (and Jim) Cable, Galva; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She had been employed as a CNA for St. Francis Hospital and later, Leisure Hills Nursing Home, both in Kewanee, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kewanee.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee, with Dr. James Breed officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens in Kewanee.
Memorials may be made to the Kewanee Food Pantry or to the First Presbyterian Church.
