Mrs. Harriette L. Thrailkill, 88, of 1171 Harrison Street Galesburg, IL, died at 11:20 AM Tuesday December 26, 2000 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday December 29, 2000 at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church or Cottage Hospital Service Guild.
She was born on September 11, 1912 in Fostoria OH to Clarence and Chloe (Mills) McClead. She married Paul Thrailkill in Fostoria OH on March 1, 1941. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1987.
She was a sales clerk at the former O.T. Johnson Department Store. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and its Dorcus Circle. She also volunteered at Cottage Hospital for 13 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Banks of Galesburg IL and Judith Rowe of Mt. Zion IL; a son, Sidney Thrailkill of Galesburg, IL; three sisters, Beth Butler, Fawn McClung and Lillian Wice, all of Fostoria OH; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Glenn H. Duke, 89, of 1145 Frank St. Galesburg, IL, died at 2:40 AM Tuesday December 26, 2000 at Galesburg Terrace, Galesburg, IL. His funeral will be 1:00 PM Friday December 29, 2000 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Jon Sibley, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born on November 21, 1911 in Galesburg to Richard and Harriet Duke. He married Irene Wallace in Missouri in 1940. She preceded him in death on April 25, 1971.
He was an auto mechanic at Fesler's Garage for 42 years, retiring in 1982. He then had a lawn mowing service for 13 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Galesburg. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by a son, Glenn H. Duke, Jr. of Monmouth, IL, a daughter, Sheila Lee of Galesburg, IL and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Duke in 1991, three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Beulah Blanche Johnson, 86, of 2345 N. Seminary St. Galesburg, IL, died at 7:24 PM Monday December 25, 2000 at Seminary Manor Nursing Home, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday December 29, 2000 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Thomas Heather officiating.
She was born on May 22, 1914 in Port Bryon IL to Clarence and Hazel (Howard) Wainwright. She married George Johnson in Peoria IL on April 29, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She worked at Eglin Air Force Base for 10 years and then at Walgreens in Galesburg for 7 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Freeport Chapter #303 of the Order of Easter Star.
She is survived by a cousin, Mathew Schafer of Rock Island, IL.

Mrs. Bessye A. Brand, 94, of 632 Knox Rd. 1000N Gilson, IL, died at 5:42 PM Sunday December 24, 2000 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. Private graveside services will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Van Acker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Thursday December 28, 2000 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to Galesburg Rescue Mission.
She was born on June 25, 1906 in Belfast IA to Nathaniel and Nora M. (Williams) Longcor. She married John D. Brand in Disco IL on October 20, 1926. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1980.
She is survived by two sons, John Brand and Robert Brand, both of Galesburg, IL; a daughter, Dorothy Lundquist of Gilson, IL; ten grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Diehl, four brothers, two sisters and on grandchild.

Ms. Sandra K. Denly, 43, of 691 Century Estates Galesburg, IL, died at 8:10 AM Sunday December 24, 2000 in Kiwanis Park, Galesburg, IL. Private graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Heather officiating. Memorials may be made to Knox County Humane Society.
She was born on January 29, 1957 in Galesburg IL to Keith W. and Ilona E. (Balzat) Denly. She was a 1975 graduate of Galesburg High School and a Certified Nurses Aide in the Knox County area for 15 years.
She is survived by her parents, Ilona and Keith Denly of Galesburg, IL; two sisters, Christa McDonald of Thibodaux, LA and Mariea Tadd of Oquawka, IL; a nephew; two nieces; three great-nephews and one great-niece.

Mrs. Myrtle E. Kelso, 86, of 789 E. Main St. Galesburg, IL, died at 4:35 PM Saturday December 23, 2000 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Funeral will be 2:00 PM Thursday December 28, 2000 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Klien officiating. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville. She was born on January 21, 1914 in Knox County IL to John and Lacy (Fields) Gibbs. She married Claude E. Kelso in Knox County IL on August 11, 1932. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1992.
She cleaned houses for over 50 years and was a cook at the Knox County Nursing Home for 10 years, retiring in 1979. She was a volunteer at the Jamison Thrift Store, Monmouth IL.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Jones of Galesburg, IL; a son, LeRoy Kelso of Galesburg, IL; a brother, John Gibbs of Galesburg, IL; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Mary C. Driffill, 58, of 824 S. 14th Ave. Freeport, IL, died at 5:20 PM Saturday December 23, 2000 at Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford, IL. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday December 27, 2000 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Minister Alvin Upton officiating.
She was born on January 22, 1942 in Galesburg to Clarence and Dorothy (Gustafson) Nordberg. She married John W. R. Driffill in Rock Island IL on February 29, 1964. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1991.
She was a graduate of Galesburg High School and Brown's Business College in Galesburg. She was member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Laura Bement of Freeport, IL and Sherry Gray of Belvidere, IL; a son, Michael Dunham of Austin, TX; a sister, Nancy Harvey of Knoxville, IL and four grandchildren. One daughter, Connie Driffill, preceded her in death.

She was born on September 23, 1942 in Stoughton WI to Lorris and Dagmar (Grevstad) Lande. She married Robert Strack in Birchwood WI on June 23, 1964. He survives.
She was a regional sales manager for Essex Corporation. She was a member of the Sewing Circle, Founder and Past President of Sons of Norway Lodge #63 and Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Lois B. McGaan, 93, of 1250 W. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg, IL, died at 1:58 PM Thursday December 21, 2000 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg, IL. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday December 26, 2000 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Norman Myer officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Altona. She was born on May 14, 1907 in Ainsworth IA to Austin Smiley and Carrie (Patton) Bailey. She married Roy H, McGaan in LaPrairie IL on June 19, 1935. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1981.
A 1926 graduate of Atlantic (IA) High School and a 1930 graduate of Monmouth College, she taught English and Latin in the Altona (IL) High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Galesburg Roundtable, the Galesburg Women's Club and the Rebecca Parke Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Knox of Morrison, IL, and two sons, Dean McGaan of Scotsdale, AZ and Lee McGaan of Monmouth, IL, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her husband, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Mr. Clifford J. Lindquist, 87, of 2008 Jeanette Lane #D Springfield, IL, died at 5:35 PM Saturday December 16, 2000 at West Abbey Nursing Home, Springfield, IL. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday December 19, 2000 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Jeffrey Barclay officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield. He was born on September 15,1913 in Shannon City IA to Carl Ivan and Edna (Roberts) Lindquist. He married Lorene Winfrey in Nashville TN on September 23, 1944. She survives.
He was a trainman for the former CB & Q Railway for 31 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Brown Avenue Church of God and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. He served in the US Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene Lindquist of Springfield, IL; a brother, Glenn Lindquist of Galesburg, IL; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Rude, one sister and one brother.

Mr. Marvin L. Gregory, 64, of 440 N. Chambers Street Galesburg, IL, died at 1:50 PM, Wednesday December 13, 2000 at 440 N. Chambers St., Galesburg, IL. He was born on March 11, 1936 in Galesburg to Marvin and Dellie (Logue) Gregory. He graduated from Galesburg High School. He worked for Mitsubishi TV as a traffic manager in their Dallas TX warehouse. He served in the US Air Force. He is survived by his mother, Della Gregory of Knoxville, IL; brother, Wesley Gregory of Burleson, TX; several nieces and nephews. One sister preceded him in death.

Miss Hortense Andrews, 104, of 466 Flagship Dr. Newport Beach, CA, died at 11:15 PM Sunday December 17, 2000 at Flagship Health Care, Newport, CA. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday December 22, 2000 at Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. She was born on March 23, 1896 in Galesburg to Axel J. and Hannah (Swanson) Andrews. She was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church in Galesburg. She is survived by a cousin, Betty Gurr of Balboa, CA.

Mr. Elmer N. Hallstrom, 85, of 938 E. South St. Galesburg, IL, died at 5:18 AM Wednesday December 20, 2000 at Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL. She belonged to the Rio Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and an honorary member of the Ladies Service Guild. She is survived by four daughters, Betty Davis of Cutler, IL, Helen Larson, Carol Boyer, and Patsy Steck, all of Rio, Il; three sons, Bill Rednour of Atkinson, IL, Everette "Buck" Rednour of Williamsfield, IL and Wayne Rednour of Rio, IL; 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, 2 stepgreat-grandchildren and 2 stepgreat great grandchildren. One son, Shelby Rednour, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Lucille A. Ross, 85, of 420 Marston Ave. Galesburg, IL, died at 4:20 AM Wednesday December 13, 2000 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg, IL. Memorial services will be 11:30 AM Monday December 18, 2000 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. David Seitz officiating. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. She was born on March 18, 1915 in Abingdon IL to Charles and Harriet (Swigert) Caulkins. She married C.R. "Bob" Ross in West Burlington IA on September 5, 1937. He survives. She was a 1933 graduate of Abingdon High School. She worked as an aide at the Galesburg State Research Hospital for nine years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Abingdon. He was a graduate of Maquoketa High School. He worked in the design and engineering lab at the former Admiral Corporation. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post 285. He served in the Army during World War II where he received the American Defense Medal with two Battle Stars, a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and Central Europe Rhineland Campaign Ribbons. He rose to the rank of Captain. He is survived by one son, Stan Miller of Knoxville, IL; two grandsons, Scott Miller and Steven Miller, both of Knoxville, IL. One brother, Percy Miller, preceded him in death.

Mrs. Helen E. Ulm, 101, of 2345 N. Seminary Street Galesburg, IL, died at 7:05 pm Thursday December 14, 2000 at Seminary Manor Nursing Home, Galesburg, IL. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday December 16, 2000 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. He was born on August 27, 1926 in Galesburg to Russell F. and Iva (Maxwell) Pedigo. He married Gloria Quimby in Galesburg on March 24, 1984. She survives. He worked at H & D, Inc. in Everett WA for 17 years, retiring in 1985. He also worked at Fashion Cleaners in Galesburg. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks Club and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Pedigo of Galesburg, IL; two step-daughters, Elizabeth Gatez of Toulon, IL and Connie Montague of Marshalltown, IA; three daughters, Sharon Johnson of Everett, WA, Carol Smith of Monroe, WA and Dianna Warren of Sultan, WA; one step-son, Dennis Webster of Toulon, IL; two sisters, Jeannette Harshbarger of Galesburg, IL and Vicky Swanson of Ridgecrest, CA; three brothers, Edward Pedigo of Richmond, WA, Lester "Pete" Pedigo of Knoxville, IL and Raymond Pedigo of Galesburg, IL; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mr. Joseph A. Stolarick, 85, of 919 Brown Avenue Galesburg, IL, died at 3:50 AM Friday December 8, 2000 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday December 12, 2000 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. She preceded him in death on August 23, 1998. He was a golf professional for over 50 years working at Galesburg Bunker Links and Canton Weematuk Golf Course. He retired in 1980. He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Galesburg and was a member of Elks Club #894. He was also past president of the Senior Professional Golfers Association. He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Watson of Galesburg, IL, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A daughter, JoAnn Kreminski, precede him in death.

Mrs. Neva G. Fach, 92, of 889 S. Chambers St. Galesburg, IL, died at 12:23 PM Thursday December 9, 2000 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Friends of the Galesburg Public Library. She was born on January 16, 1908 in Galesburg to James and Addie (Showalter) Marsden. She married Charles A. Fach in 1931. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1993. She was an English and German Teacher at various Illinois schools. She worked with her husband at the Illinois Camera Shop in Galesburg until their retirement in 1975. She was a 1925 graduate of Galesburg High School. She also attended Knox College and Lombard College, both in Galesburg. She graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb. She taught Sunday and Bible School at the Swedish Baptist Church in Galesburg. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader at Cooke School, a guide at the Carl Sandburg Birthplace, a member of the Friends of the (Galesburg) Library, Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the Knox-Lombard Alumni Association. She is survived by one son, Charles Fach, Jr. of Galena, IL; two sisters, Lilian Falberg of Sun City, AZ and Mary Rapalee of Galesburg, IL; one granddaughter, Sasha Fach of Ames, IA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. One Daughter, Rita Carlson, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday December 8, 2000 at Woodhull (IL) Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. She was born on May 11, 1913 in Woodhull IL to Edward and Christina (Olson) Peterson. She married Lawrence Bangson in Maquoketa IA on March 12, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1981. She was a 1930 graduate of Alpha High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Galesburg.
