Her funeral will be 11:30 AM Wednesday April 4, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Mrs. Marilyn Anell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday April 3, 2001 at the Chapel. Order of Easter Star services will be held at 7:30 PM Tuesday April 3, 2001. Memorials may be made to a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
She was born on April 2, 1925 in Sublette IL to Arthur and Marie (Jones) Burkhardt. She married Camie L. "Van" VanUnnik in Galesburg on September 11, 1945. He preceded her in death in March of 1982.
She was a secretary and sales person at Doyles Furniture for 22 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Sincerity Lodge #6, the Moose Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by four sons (and daughters-in-law), Dennis A. Van Unnik (Judy) of Knoxville, IL, Victor E. Van Unnik (Wanda) of Wataga, IL, Gary C. Van Unnik (Linda) and Derek G. Van Unnik (Donna), both of Galesburg, IL; two daughters (and sons-in-law), Janice L. Spivey (Kevin) of Woodhull, IL, Denise M. Wiscons of Knoxville, IL and step-daughter Jean B. Karl of Osewego, IL; eight brothers, Charles Burkhardt (Lola) of Compton, IL, Don Burkhardt of Peoria Heights, IL, Bill Burkhardt (Beverly) of Polo, IL, Roger Burkhardt (Pat) of Vista, CA, Ed Burkhardt (Judy) of Mendota, IL, John Burkhardt of Irving, TX, Dan Burkhardt of Dixon, IL and Tom Burkhardt (Mary Lou) of Amboy, IL; five sisters Eileen Johannes of Faribault, MN, Irene (Bob) Moncelle of Rockford, IL, Rita Ray of Dixon, IL, Jane (Joe) Harris of Peoria, Il, and Marylyn (Roger) Carls of Peoria, IL; 12 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

Miss Marcella P. Travis, 84, of 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg, IL, died at 2:28 PM Thursday March 29, 2001 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 10:00AM Tuesday April 3, 2001 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Robin Faull officiating. Memorials may be made to East Main Congregational United Church of Christ.
She was born on February 12, 1917 in Burlington IA to John and Pearl (Smith) Travis. She worked for the C.B & Q. and Burlington Northern Railroads as a clerk for 34 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the East Main Congregational United Church of Christ and the Brotherhood of Locomotive, Firemen and Engineers and Railroad Clerks.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Clarence Haner of Galesburg, IL and a cousin, Julie King of Ft. Madison, IA. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite Haner.

Mrs. Juanita A. Brown, 87, formerly of 1086 Mulberry St., Galesburg, died at 8:27 AM Wednesday June 27, 2001 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday June 30, 2001 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, with Rev. Aaron Yeary officiating. Memorials may be made to Allen Chapel A.M.E.
She was born on November 6, 1913 in Coffeyville KY to David and Nellie May (Robinson) Loyd. She married William Good and Robert Brown both preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of the Allen Chapel A.M.E. in Galesburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Cherie Brown of Rosen, TX, Phyllis Crummer and Elizabeth Means, both of Galesburg, IL, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Louise J. Scott, 81, of New London, IA, formerly of Galesburg, died at 3:45 PM Monday June 25, 2001 at New London Rehab and Nursing Care, New London, IA. Graveside services will be 11:30 AM Friday June 29, 2001 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, with Rev. Robert Friese officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday June 28, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to New London Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on September 14, 1919 in Colchester IL to Elva and Inez (Miller) Robinson. She married William Minnie. He preceded her in death on November 22,1958. She then married Kenneth V. Scott in Granville IL on December 11, 1959. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1988. A graduate of the Industry (IL) High School, she was a homemaker, a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Elkettes.
She is survived by a son, John Minnie of New London, IA; two daughters, Pamela Leach of Lake Forest, IL and Patricia Morse of Sierra Vista, AZ; a step-daughter, Trish Yeager of Galesburg, IL; three sisters, Marjorie Aten of Macomb, IL, Betty Herche and Norma Toland, both of Rushville, IL; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A daughter Judith Galiher preceded her in death.

Mr. Edgar T. Wenstrom, 96, of Wataga, IL, died at 5:00 AM Tuesday June 26, 2001 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. His funeral will be 10:00 AM Friday June 29, 2001 at Faith Lutheran Church, Wataga, with Rev. Jill Vivroux officiating. Burial will be in Wataga Cemetery, Wataga. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday June 28, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
He was born on October 2, 1904 in Henderson IL to John J. and Emele (Pearson) Wenstrom. He married Mary Irene Olson in Woodhull IL on October 10, 1932. She preceded him in death on March 28, 1979. He then married Charlotte Conard Hull in Wataga on February 14, 1986. She survives. He farmed in the Wataga area for most of his life. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Wataga and the Cosmopolitan Club.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Wenstrom of Wataga, IL; a daughter, Alice Beardsley of Elkton, MD; a son, Roger Wenstrom of Wataga, IL; two step-sons, Wayne Hull of Galesburg, IL and Wendell Hull of Yorkville, IL; a step-daughter, Colleen Orwig of Galesburg, IL; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Mrs. Barbara L. Herring, 53, of 1926 Knox Rd. 2150E Williamsfield, IL, died at 4:00 AM Monday June 25, 2001 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. Her funeral will be 10:00 AM Thursday June 28, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Randall Douglass officiating. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday June 27, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born on September 28, 1947 in Galesburg to William and Catherine (Mottorshaw) Boen. She married Gerald F. Herring in Knoxville IL on November 12, 1965. He survives. She was a self-employed caregiver for the elderly. She was a 1965 graduate of Knoxville High School and a member of the United Methodist Church in Williamsfield IL.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Herring of Williamsfield, IL; her mother, Catherine Boen of Girard, IL; a son, Howard Herring of Greenville, SC; two daughters, Marnie Herring of Galesburg, IL and Teresa Herring of Dahinda, IL; a sister, Sharon Secrist of Girard, IL and four grandchildren. Her father and a brother, William Boen, preceded her in death.

Mr. Richard L. Morrison, 82, of 340 Belle View Court Galesburg, IL, died at 11:46 AM Sunday June 24, 2001 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Memorial services will be 11:30 AM Saturday June 30, 2001at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to Prairieland Hospice Foundation or the Busey-Mills Community Foundation.
He was born on November 26, 1918 in Galesburg to Leonard and Mary Alice (Lane) Morrison. He married Marjorie Reimer in Burlington IA on August 20, 1938. She survives. He was a brakeman and conductor for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He also worked several years for Galesburg Lincoln-Mercury and the Stockyard Feed Store in Alexis IL. A 1937 graduate of Galesburg High School he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of Alpha Lodge #155. He served in the Army during World War II receiving two Bronze Stars.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Morrison of Galesburg, IL; two daughters, Linda Mills of Champaign, IL and Sandra Mills of Tucson, AZ and two grandchildren. A sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Dale E. Guenther, 78, of 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr., Galesburg, IL, formerly of Abingdon, died at 8:00 PM Saturday June 23, 2001 at Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL. His funeral will be 10:00 AM Wednesday June 27, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Mrs. Eleanor Landon officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday June 26, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.
He was born on April 23, 1923 in Galesburg IL to Elmer and Hazel (Skidmore) Guenther. He married Eva Dorene Courson in Abingdon IL on April 4, 1953. She survives.
He was a machine repairman at the former Outboard Marine Corporation in Galesburg for 33 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285. He served in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Guenther of Galesburg, IL; a son, John Guenther of Berwick, IL; a daughter, Sandra Sideman of Galesburg, IL; three sisters, Helen Swanson and Delores Young, both of Galesburg, IL and Dorothy Young of Keithsburg, IL and two grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Elsie Mae Coons, 92, of 776 Knox Rd. 1450 E Maquon, IL, died at 5:40 PM Saturday June 23, 2001 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. Her funeral will be 1:30 PM Friday June 29, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. John Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Avon Cemetery, Avon. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Friday at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, the Maquon Methodist Church, the Diabetes Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
She was born on April 24,1909 in LaPrairie IL to Charles and Lena (Lake) Clothier. She married Glenn Coons on December 5, 1925 in Monmouth IL. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1972. She worked at the West Main Street Coal Yard from 1946 until the late 1950s. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Galesburg. She raised Appaloosa horses.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Russell F. (Velma M.) Collins of Galesburg, IL and Mrs. Raymond E. (Christine L.) Schuler of Orion, IL; a son, Glenn L. Coons of Maquon, IL; a sister, Reva Ready of Charlotte, IA; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Four brothers, two sisters and a grandson preceded her in death.

Mrs. Nancy L. Clevenger, 62, of 155 E. Union St. Roseville, IL, died at 12:01 PM Friday June 22, 2001 at her home. Her funeral will be 10:00 AM Tuesday June 26, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Ronald D. Clevenger officiating. Private family burial services will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday June 25, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born on December 1, 1938 in Hardinsburg KY to James and Naomi (Roberts) Simmons. She married Amos D. Clevenger in Galesburg on January 4, 1958. He survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the Harvest Church of God in East Galesburg IL.
She is survived by her husband, Amos Clevenger of Roseville, IL; her mother, Naomi Simmons of Galesburg, IL; a daughter, Tami Anderson of Colona, IL; four sons, Kevin Clevenger of Monmouth, IL, Ronald Clevenger of East Moline, IL, Scott Clevenger of Augusta, ME and Thomas Clevenger of Huntsville, TX; four brothers, Delbert Simmons of Lumberton, TX, Gene Simmons of Monmouth, IL, Jim Simmons of Davenport, IA and Ken Simmons of Dallas; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, a sister and a grandson.

Mrs. E. Lucille Goodman, 90, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Galesburg, died at 9:30 AM Thursday June 7, 2001 in Jacksonville. Graveside memorial services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday June 27, 2001 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, with Rev. James Hazelwood officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday June 26, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born on August 27, 1910 in Warren County IL to George W. and Clara H. (Sanders) Page. She married Robert McCutcheon, John Wilson and Homer Goodman, all who preceded her in death. She managed several restaurants in the Galesburg area. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Dutton of Jacksonville, FL; a stepdaughter, Peggy Williams of Huntland, TN; a son, Richard McCutcheon of Galesburg, IL; a stepson, Louis Goodman of Galesburg, IL; a sister, Dorothy Palmer of Gilbert, AZ; 9 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 10 step-great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Mr. Durward B. Allaman, 81, of 800 N. Market Street Knoxville, IL, died at 9:20 AM Tuesday June 19, 2001 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, IL. Private graveside memorial services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to Galesburg Public Library.
He was born on December 31, 1919 in Fort Dodge IA to Jessie L. and Rose I. (Fox) Allaman. He worked at the former Midwest Manufacturing Company. He was a founding member of the Knox County Genealogical Society being its first President. He also served the Society as a director and historian. He received a special recognition award from the Illinois Genealogical Society. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #2257. He served in the Navy from 1937 to 1946.
He is survived by a close friend, Lillian Pilcher of Galesburg, IL. A sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Ralph Y. Hopping, Jr., 79, of 1755 Beecher Avenue Galesburg, IL, died at 2:55 PM Sunday June 17, 2001 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. His funeral will be 10:00 AM Thursday June 21, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Todd Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday June 20, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born on October 3, 1921 in Galesburg to Ralph Yates and Bertha (Morris) Hopping, Sr. He married Mae V. Linner in Rock Island IL on October 4, 1947. She preceded him in death on September 23, 1984.
He was a cement truck driver for Galesburg Builder's Supply. He retired on January 1, 1984. He was a 30-year member of Teamster's local #627. He had lived his entire life in the Galesburg area. He was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Sally Day of London Mills, IL; two sons, Robert Hopping of Naples, FL and Ricky Hopping of Galesburg, IL; three brothers, David Hopping of Galesburg, IL, Harry Hopping, Sr. of East Galesburg, IL and John Hopping of Fayetteville, AR; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren. Three brothers and a daughter, Joan Townsend, preceded him in death.

Mrs. Darlene E. Kneebone, 80, of 726 Johnston St. Galesburg, IL, died at 9:50 PM Saturday June 16, 2001 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg, IL. Her funeral will be 11:30 AM Wednesday June 20, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Mrs. Marilyn Anell officiating. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
She was born on December 27, 1920 in Galesburg to Howard and Grace (Chapman) Burch. She married William W. Kneebone in Burlington IA on May 20, 1939. He survives. She worked at the Knox County Veteran's Assistance office for 10 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and various Circles with the Church.
She is survived by her husband, William W. Kneebone of Galesburg, IL; two sons, William W. Kneebone, Jr. of Ludlow, VT and Phillip E. Kneebone of Murray, KY; a sister, Cora Jones of Galesburg, IL; four grandchildren, John, Rob and Sabrina Kneebone and Sarah Vaughn; three great-grandchildren, Adam Vaughn, John and Tess Kneebone. A brother and a son, Thomas H. Kneebone, preceded her in death.
