John Gartner, 84, who worked for Buildings and Grounds for 35 years, died Oct. 25 [1996] in Cardel by the Sea, Calif.
His duties at Northwestern included serving as a chauffeur for J. Roscoe Miller during Miller's tenure as president of the University. Mr. Gartner retired from Northwestern 18 years ago.
Interment was at Memorial Park in Skokie. Mr. Gartner is survived by a son, James of Cardel by the Sea.
