Virginia Adlyn Goodwin
Virginia Adlyn Goodwin, 87, of Harrisburg, died 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Galatia.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2002, at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born May 12, 1914, in Marion, to George W. and Cora (Goodman) Lackey. On July 6, 1933, she married Clifford Lee "Greek" Goodwin, who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1990.
She was Past Matron of Eastern Star and Past Noble Grand of Rebekah's. She was also a member of White Shrine and American Legion Auxiliary and a longtime member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church. Virginia worked many years in the hospitals of Harrisburg and as office nurse for the late Dr. William Durham.
She is survived by a sister and companion, Mildred Lacey Wilson of Galatia; a niece that she reared as her own daughter, Beverly Miller Baumann of Sugarland, Texas; and two nephews, Charles and Hallie Abney of Marion.
She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Leroy and James C. "Greek" Goodwin; two sisters, Vida Lackey Abney and Carrie Lackey Miller; and a brother, Leo Lackey.

William H. 'Bill' Roberts
William H. "Bill" Roberts, 85, of 200 W. Logan St., Harrisburg, died 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2002, at First Baptist Church of Harrisburg with the Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, March 15 at the funeral home, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 15 at the church.

William Eugene Aulgur
William Eugene Aulgur, 83, of 1812 Roosevelt St., Eldorado, died 6:48 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2002, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Burial will be in Wolf Creek cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 28, 1918, in Marshall, Mo., to William Roland and Mary Elizabeth (Clark) Aulgur. He married Betty Aulgur, who survives.
He was an attorney at law and a member of the Eldorado First United Methodist Church. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Eldorado VFW and the Rotary Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two stepdaughters, Rebecca (Michael) Kitchens of Ridgway and Connie Smith of Harrisburg; two brothers, John J. Aulgur of Jefferson City, Mo. and Leroy F. Aulgur of Citrus Heights, Calif.; seven grandchildren, April and Angel Kitchens, both of Eldorado, John Kitchens of Ridgway, Contrina Dawn Henry of Peoria, Lisa Smith of Marion, LaTisha Nikes of Harrisburg, Lucas Tyrone Smith of Galesburg; four nieces and nephews; and four great-grandchildren.
For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to the Eldorado First United Methodist Church.

Harold Wayne Prince
Harold Wayne Prince, 46, of McLeansboro, died 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at the funeral home.

Donald Anthony 'Tony' Johnson
Donald Anthony "Tony" Johnson, 63, of Carterville, formerly of McLeansboro, died 11:59 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in McLeansboro.
Services will be held 12 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2002, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robin Lyons officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.

Patsy J. Drone
Patsy J. Drone, 66, of 1150 Long Lane Road, Equality, died 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2002, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Equality with Father Mark Stec and Father Clyde Grogan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery in Equality. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2002, at Vickery Funeral Home in Equality with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
She was born Feb. 28, 1936, in New Haven to Reba Mae (Givens) and the late Elmer Sanford Browning. On Jan. 18, 1958, she married Cletus Eugene Drone, who survives.
She worked at Owl's Nest Ladies Apparel in Ridgway for the past 17 years and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Equality.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lara (Gary) Odum of Fort Branch, Ind.; three sons, Mark (Kim) Drone of Newburg, Ind., Tim (Jo) Drone of Ridgway, and Philliip Drone and his fiancee, Michelle Bean of Ridgway; a brother, James (Lucretia) Browning of New Haven; four sisters, Dorothy Ewan of Herrin, Shirley (Kermit) Bates of Carmi, Shelby (Revis) Busler of Norris City, and Bonnie (Jimmy Jack) Sisk of Junction; nine grandchildren, Tabitha, Derek, Sara, Brittney, and Mariah Drone and Lucy, Reba, and Kirk Odom, and Ashley Ammon.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Stanley Ewan.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the V.N.A. Hospice, 1300 U.S. Hwy. 45 North, Eldorado, Ill. 62930.

Homer C. Caldwell
Homer C. Caldwell, 69, of the Rosebud Community near Golconda, died 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.
The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the charge of Aly Funeral Home in Golconda.
He was born August 6, 1932, in Hyden, Ky., to Boyd and Louise (Brown) Campbell. He was married to Dorothy (Owens) Caldwell.
He attended school through the eleventh grade and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
He is survived by eight children, Brenda Cayer and Donna Shepherd, both of Manteno, Patricia Cain of Grantsburg, Michael Caldwell and Robert Caldwell, both of Cassville, Ky., Ronald Caldwell of Cartersville, Ky., Judy Rechkemmer of St. Anne, Thomas Caldwell of Metropolis; three brothers, Frank Caldwell of Big Rock, Tenn., Tom Caldwell of Salem, Mo., and Willie Caldwell of Momence; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and one son-in-law.

David 'Gary' Butler
David "Gary" Butler, 65, of 809 N. 11th St., Herrin, died 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2002, at Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin with the Rev. Lee Lovett officiating. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2002, at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m. Military rites will be performed by Herrin VFW and American Legion.
He was born Dec. 30, 1936, in Eldorado to Lillian and the late Wilburn T. Butler. He was married to Barbara Butler of Herrin, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Herrin. He was a member of Local Union No. 702, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He served his apprenticeship from 1958 to 1962. He became a Journeyman Wireman on Nov. 2, 1962. He was hired as a business representative in October 1971 and served in that position until August 1978. He served on the executive board of IBEW State Conference, was the president of Egyptian Building Trades, the secretary of Egyptian of Egyptian Building Trades, a trustee of NECA-IBEW Service Center Pension Board, a trustee of NECA-IBEW Welfare Trust Fund, served on the JATC Apprenticeship Committee from 1971 to 1978, and served in the capacity of both secretary and president; and was on the IBEW Local 702 Organizing Committee from its inception in 1997 and was still serving in that capacity at the time of his death. He was past president of the Williamson County Shriners, 32nd Degree Mason in the Herrin Prairie Lodge and was a member of the VFW He owned and operated Butler Electric and Refrigeration.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by three sons, David (Becky) Butler, Robert (Renay) Butler, and Tom (Kim) Butler, all of Herrin; a daughter, Beth (Tom) Robinson of Lawrenceville; a brother, Robert Macklin and Kaye Butler of Shelbyville; a sister, Judy Lovellette of Eldorado; eight grandchildren, David, Garrett, Conner, Austin, Katie, and Christopher Butler and Michael and Stephen Robinson and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Herrin.

Ulysses G. Allen
Ulysses G. Allen, 72, died Dec. 15, 2001, in Seattle, Wash.
He was born March 20, 1929, in Carrier Mills, to the late Moses and Ethel Allen.
He served overseas in the United States Air Force and retired from Raytheon Marine Company after 35 years. He was a faithful member of Walker Chapel AME Church, serving over 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi, one daughter, two sons, eight grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Walker of Bremerton, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Evelynn Allen of Springfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews in this area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Allen of Washington, Shirley Williams of Carrier Mills and a beloved sister-in-law, Veretha Williams.

Aaron Blake Lee Grisham
Aaron Blake Lee Grisham, infant son of Doug and Renee (Roth) Grisham, was stillborn Jan. 27, 2002, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
Heaven's young angel left behind maternal grandparents Dianna Walker of Eldorado, Mr. and Mrs. John Roth of Johnston City, great-grandmother Myrle Shank, great-great-grandmother Eva Markum of Eldorado, paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Grisham of Eldorado, Mr. and Mrs. Randy (Joy) Braddock of Tampa, Fla., great-grandmother Loretta Grisham of Mesa, Ariz., great-grandfather Virgil Hall of Eldorado, aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, and great-great-aunts and great-great-uncles on both sides of this union. Blake has been united in Heaven with his great-grandfather John Shank, great-grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roth, great-grandmother Betty Lou Hull, and great-grandfather Marion Grisham. Even with our hearts being broken and not being able to know you and what you could have been, we are all comforted with the knowledge and the belief that our angel is now in the presence and care of our most Heavenly Father.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Wolf Creek cemetery with the Rev. Randy Grace officiating. There will be no visitation. Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado is in charge of the arrangements.

Kermit E. Yoder
Kermit E. Yoder, 91, of Lake County, Calif., formerly of McLeansboro, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. John Lee Jr. officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery in McLeansboro with military graveside rites by McLeansboro American Legion Post No. 106. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Sara.
