Clarence Hamilton
Clarence Hamilton, 71, of McLeansboro, died 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at McLeansboro Healthcare Center.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Brush Harbor cemetery in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. There will be no public visitation. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of the arrangements.

Ethel Keith
Ethel Keith, 74, of 603 S. Webster St., Harrisburg, died 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at her residence.
Further family details and arrangements will be announced later from the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
She was the widow of John Keith.

Avis Johnson
Avis Johnson, 86, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Eldorado, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003.
The funeral will be held in Boca Raton, Fla.
She was the widow of Frank Johnson. She is survived by two daughters, one son, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one sister and one brother.

Brenda Kay Riley
Brenda Kay Riley, 46, of 235 McConnell Road, Harrisburg, died 11:26 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Jeff Rush officiating and the Rev. G.E. Coultas assisting. Burial will be in Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 12, 1955 in Harrisburg to Maurice and Betty (Shea) McConnell. On Sept. 1, 1984, she married Elvis A. Riley, who survives.
She was a customer service manager and 22-year employee of Kroger in Harrisburg. She was a member of Little Chapel General Baptist Church in Raleigh.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by three sons, Jason Douglas (fiancee April Tarlton) of Twentynine Palms, Calif. and David and Adam Riley, both of Harrisburg; two sisters, Linda (Mike) Hernandez of Galatia and Sally (Jeff) Phipps of Harrisburg; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kingsley and Ethel McConnell and Eugene and Stella Shea.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Little Chapel General Baptist Church, Buena Vista Community Church or to Cancer Survivors of Harrisburg.

John D. Watson
John D. Watson, 76, died 1:40 a.m. Sunday, December 1, 2002, at Eldorado Care Center after a lengthy illness.
John D. was the son of Edward Hume Watson and Sibyl Mary (Butler) Watson, both of whom are deceased. His sister, Wilma Jane, and brother, Forrest Roger, also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol Lynn (Cook) Watson; son, John Chrisman (Rhonda) Watson of Nokomis, Fla.; twin daughters, Leeanne (Patrick) Whittington and Lynelyn (Michael) Weaver, both of Eldorado, and four grandchildren.
John D. retired after 30 years as a city and rural mail carrier at the Eldorado Post Office. After retirement, he and his family owned and operated Wood, Wicker and Weeds for 21 years.
A private graveside service will be held. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 with a memorial service following at noon, at Wolf Creek Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a member. Pastor John O'Dell is officiating. Funeral arrangements by Watson Funeral Home of Eldorado.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wolf Creek Primitive Baptist Church or VNA Hospice Association in Eldorado.

Fred G. 'Freddie' Heath
Fred G. "Freddie" Heath, 67, of Harrisburg, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 23, 1934, to Clarence and Amanda Heath of Ridgway. On April 21, 1962, he married Mary Baldwin and she survives in Harrisburg.
Fred was a retired insurance broker. He had recently worked at Hathaway's One-Stop in Pankeyville during his retirement and had also played piano for three years at Dorrisville Social Brethren Church in Harrisburg. He was a member of the Methodist Men and a member of First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg.
Along with his wife, Mary, he is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Knoshal of Columbia, Tenn.; a grandson and granddaughter, Kegan and Kayla Knoshal, also of Columbia; a sister, Barbara (Richard) Bagwell of Lawrenceville, Ga. and a brother, Jack L. (Louise) Heath of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Virgie Baldwin.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, also at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Carl "Eddie" Givens will officiate.
Interment will be at Level Hill cemetery in Equality. Memorial contributions are suggested to go to Visiting Nurse Association of Eldorado. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Donald Gail French
Donald Gail French, 71, of McLeansboro, died 3:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.
Services were held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at the funeral home with Masonic Rites by Polk Lodge No. 137 at 7 p.m.
He was born Dec. 22, 1930 in Walpole to the late Ebert and Monie (Odie) French. He married Shirley Ann (Todd) French, who preceded him in death in 1975.
He retired in 1991 from the Illinois Department of Conservation and was a farmer and oil field worker. He loved to attend auctions.
He is survived by four daughters, Gaila Garrison and friend Clay of McLeansboro, Patty Gaunt and husband Dick of East Peoria, Nedra Thompson and husband Brian of Carmi and Nancy Johnson and husband Jesse of McLeansboro; two sons, Darrel French and friend Crystal of McLeansboro and Donald Jr. and wife Terri of McLeansboro; a special friend and caregiver, Sarah Moles; three brothers, Marvin French and friend Ima, Ebert French and wife Shirley and Ronald French and wife Peggy, all of McLeansboro; five sisters, Sue Hart and husband Marshall of Dahlgren, Janice Bridwell and husband George of McLeansboro, Wanda Belt and Janet Cox, both of Bradley and Dana Williams and husband Gaylord of Dale; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Glendal and Earl French and a son, Gailen French.

Curtis Eugene Wilson
Curtis Eugene Wilson, 63, of Harrisburg, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Wilson has been cremated as to his wishes, a memorial service will be held at the Harrisburg American Legion 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, with the Rev. Roy Hughes officiating. Those attending should go directly to the American Legion. Arrangements are in the charge of Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg.

Bobbie Snavely
Bobbie (Watson) Snavely, 80, formerly of Eldorado, died Oct. 2, 2002, in San Mateo, Calif.
Survivors are three daughters, a grandson and a sister.

Robert Graham Rudolph
Robert Graham Rudolph, 88, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Springfield.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Palestine No. 1 cemetery in Omaha with the Rev. Curt Yarbrough officiating. Arrangements are in the charge of Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado.
He was born March 10, 1914, in Omaha to Hubert and Fleeta B. (Randolph) Rudolph. On Nov. 7, 1930, he married the former Roma Little, who preceded him in death on April 9, 2000.
He was a retired purchasing agent for CWLP and a member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield.
He is survived by two daughters, Roma Brown and Darla Wilson, both of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Alice Nell Hargrave of Eldorado; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Martha M. Blackledge
Martha M. Blackledge, 70, of McLeansboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003. Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis with Monsignor Joseph Lawler officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church cemetery in Piopolis. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

R. Emmett O'Connor
R. Emmett O'Connor, 96, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of McLeansboro, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003. Graveside services will precede burial 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Ten Mile cemetery near McLeansboro. Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Gholson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Hal 'Dutch' Edward Case
Hal "Dutch" Edward Case, 91, of Equality, died 8:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown with Pastor Jack Hall officiating. Burial will be in Callicott cemetery in Ridgway. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 9, 1911 in Shawneetown to the late Thomas and Sally (Brooks) Case. In 1933, he married Allie May Lynch, who preceded him in death on June 7, 1974. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by a brother, Charles (Thelma) Case of Carrier Mills; a sister, Georgia Gott of Elgin and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a stillborn son in 1935; an infant sister and brother, an 11-year-old sister Margaret Case, Eva Hise, Roslee Cox, Elsie Frields and a brother, H.M. Case.
