The funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, at Crain Funeral Home, Newton. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Burial is in Kaskaskia Cemetery, rural St. Elmo.

Yvonne Thormahlen, 70, Mt. Vernon, died about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Nature Trail Home, Mt. Vernon.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton, with Fr. Jeff Goeckner officiating. Burial is in West Lawn Cemetery, Newton. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon, and from 1 p.m. to service time Saturday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton.

Paul M. Beeson, 67, formerly of Palestine, died Monday, June 2, 2003, in Albuquerque, N.M., of cancer.
Cremation and memorial service has taken place.

Viola Jean Butler, 76, died about 12:07 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind.
Memorial service is 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, at Union Christian Church, Terre Haute, with Rev. Mark Grayless officiating. Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Cremation is scheduled. Arrangements are by DeBaun Funeral Home, Terre Haute.

Mary E. Spittler Macke, 89, rural West Union, died about 10:15 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, at Burnsides Nursing Home, Marshall.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Brick United Methodist Church with Pastor David Deal officiating. Burial is in Walnut Prairie Cemetery, northeast of West Union. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today at Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel, West Union, and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Max Melton, 82, Effingham, formerly of Marshall, died about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Graveside memorial service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Bradbury Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Clark County American Legion Post 90, Marshall, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975.

Charles L. Pittenger, 69, West Union, died about 7:50 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel, West Union, with Bro. Leroy Wells officiating. Burial is in Darwin Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by West Union American Legion Post 1130 and Hutsonville American Legion Post 742. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Charles F. Freeland, 78, Newton, died about 12:35 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Buchanan Funeral Hospital, Newton.

Marion Claibourne "Curly" Weddell, 77, Yale, died about 7:10 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Barkley Funeral Chapel, Green up. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Newton, with graveside military rites. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Alice M. Tohill, 89, rural Robinson, died about 4:20 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2003, at Lawrenceville Manor Nursing Center.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock, with Bro. Gene Beard and Rev. John Brand officiating. Burial is in York Cemetery, rural West York. Visitation is from noon Thursday until service time at 2 p.m.

Robert Cain, 50, 11493 E. Quail Hollow Drive, Robinson, died about 3:35 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2003, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind., following a massive heart attack on Father's Day 2003.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Robinson, with Father Jeff Goeckner officiating. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery, Palestine. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Charles F. Freeland, 78, Newton, died about 12:35 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.
The funeral is 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton, with Bro. Brad Harper officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Newton, with full military services by Jasper Post 20 American Legion. There will be no visitation.

Anthony Scott "Tony" Kirk, 31, rural Flat Rock, died about 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, following an apparent heart attack.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, with Don Russell officiating. Burial is in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Saturday and until service time Sunday.

Margaret E. Woods, 86, Decatur, formerly of Willow Hill, died about 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Aspen Ridge Care Center, Decatur.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, with David Sheridan officiating. Burial is in Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Virgil "Wayne" Yockey, 80, Oblong, died about 9:46 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, following an apparent heart attack at home.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, with Rev. Ron Klaus officiating. Burial is in Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Howard Kenneth Allen, 82, Oblong, died about 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at First Baptist Church, Oblong. Burial is in Oblong Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Crain Funeral Home, Newton, is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Paul Catt, 62, Palestine, died about 6:05 a.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at his residence.
Arrangements are pending at Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine.

Gerald G. Mieure, 87, Sumner, died about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2003, in Lawrence Community Healthcare Center, Bridgeport.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Sivert-Macey and Steffey Funeral Home, Sumner. Burial is in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday.

Rodney D. Jones, 52, Florissant, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, after a seven year battle with cancer.
The funeral is 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at Buchholz Valley of Flowers Mortuary, 619 St. Francois, Florissant, Mo., to St. Ferdinand Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Burial is in St. Ferdinand Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Sunday.

Fern E. White, 77, Robinson, died about 7 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson.
Memorial service is 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, with Pastor Bob Harris officiating. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday preceding the memorial senice.

Mary F. Martin, 81, 11651 N. 1050th Street, Robinson, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, following a brief illness.
The body will be cremated with remains buried at Robinson New Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation for funeral service.

Leona E. "Tony" Ford, 90, Carrier Mills, formerly of Crawford and Lawrence County, died at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Flat Rock First Baptist Church, with Rev. Norris Price and Rev. Dean West officiating. Burial is in Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock, is in charge of arrangements.

Bernard L. Huff, 91, Ste. Marie, died about 11:58 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at St. Clara's Manor, Lincoln.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ste. Marie, with Fr. Yvon Sheehy officiating. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ste. Marie. Visitation is one hour before the service at the church.

Vonda L. Chapman, 68, Willow Hill, died about 3:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
The funeral was 10:30 a.m. today, Nov. 25, at Willow Hill United Methodist Church, with Rev. Richard Houser officiating. Burial is in Mound Cemetery, rural Willow Hill. Visitation is one hour prior to service at the church. Crain Funeral Home, Newton, is in charge of arrangements.

John Toney, 95, Lawrenceville, died about 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Lawrenceville Manor.
The body will be cremated with services to be in California. There is no visitation.

Anna M. Lustig, 85, rural Wheeler, died about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Newton Rest Haven.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Wright Funeral Home, Dieterich.

M. Dale Garner, 62, rural West Union, died unexpectedly at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in the Emergency Room at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind.
Arrangements are pending at Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel, West Union.

George "Max" Hargis, 73, of Robinson, Ill., died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong. Ill.
Private family services will be held Monday, July 30, 2007, at the Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, Ill. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, is in charge of arrangements.

Bro. Glenn Arbuckle
Bro. Glenn E. Arbuckle, 83, of Marshall, Ill., passed away at 1 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, Ind.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 30, at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Bro. Gene Ellis and Bro. Art Orndorff officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-7 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Bill J. Rich, 74, rural Flat Rock, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, Lawrenceville.
Private services will be conducted. Emmons-Macey and Steffey Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, is in charge of the services.

Letha Shacklee Friedman, 90, Marion, died July 22, 2007, at 7:40 a.m. at the Heartland Regional Medical Center.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at Blue Funeral Home, Marion, with Rev. Curt Lipe officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro.
