Mary Margaret Evans
Mary Margaret Evans, 81, of Alsey passed away early Monday morning (January 1, 2001) at Barton W. Stone Christian Home.
She was born June 21, 1919 in Jacksonville the daughter of the late John Francis and Catherine T. Devlin Flanagan.
She married Ralph Wesley Evans August 28, 1939 in Bowling Green , Missouri. He preceded her in death April 3, 1986. Also preceding her in death was a son James Edward Evans and 2 brothers John and Charles Flanagan.
Mrs. Evans attended Jacksonville schools, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Marks Church in Winchester.
Survivors include a son Larry Evans of Winchester and a daughter Mary Evans of Winchester and 5 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday (January 4, 2000) at St. Marks Church in Winchester. Burial will be in the Winchester City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Winchester EMS or to Barton W. Stone Christian Home.

Mrs. Virginia Caroline Fanning (Boyd)
Virginia Caroline Boyd Fanning, 85, of Scottville, died Friday, February 23, 2001 in Jacksonville Convalescent Center in Jacksonville. She was born October 4, 1915, in Scottville Twp, Macoupin County, IL., a daughter of Samuel Dalton and Ora Lee Turner Boyd. She married Gilbert Eugene Fanning and he preceded her in death in 1973.
Surviving are one daugher: Judy VanBebber of Scottville; one grandson: Neil (girl friend Rosemary Greco) VanBebber of Springfield; two Granddaughters: Lisa (husband Peter) Kalin of New York City; and Tara (husband Daniel) Dyer of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dana Boyd and one sister, Mary Lou Riggs who preceded on Tuesday, February 20, 2001.
She graduated from Scottville High School, attended Blackburn College in Carlinville and upon getting her teachers certificate she taught in country schools in Macoupin County, and in Northwestern Elementary School Unit # 2, retiring after 33 years. She was a member of Illinois Retired Teachers Assn., a 50 year member of Palmyra Chapter # 453, Order of the Eastern Star, treasurer of Scottville West Cemetery, and a member of Scottville Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2001 in Scottville Christian Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, February 25. Burial will be in Scottville West Cemetery. Memorials are suggested for books for the Accelerated Readers Program at Northwestern School System. Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra is serving the family.

Mrs. Iola M. Fanning (Rea)
Iola Mae Fanning, 79, of 417 Caldwell, Jacksonville, died Thursday morning, September 13, 2001 at her residence, following a lengthy illness. She was born on December 28, 1921 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of James Henry and Lennie Alma Osborne Rea. She married William E. Fanning on November 4, 1939 in New London, Missouri and he survives.
She is also survived by two daughters, Connie Warcup and Carolyn (husband, Edward) Thompson, both of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Beulah Sunderland of Murrayville; several nieces and nephews, and her devoted friend of several years, Marsha Lewis of Jacksonville.
She is preceded in death by one son-in-law, Danny Warcup; two sisters, Violet Ottylee Fanning and Mary E. Sweeney; and two brothers, James Benjamin Rea and Donald L. Rea.
Mrs. Fanning attended Brush College Grade School near Murrayville and Murrayville High School. She was employed at J. Capps and Sons in Jacksonville for 27 years and Capitol Records in Jacksonville until her retirement in 1981. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville and was devoted to her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2001 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Murrayville Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Central Illinois, Jacksonville Branch; or to the donor’s choice.

Mr. Dale Edward Farmer
Dale Edward Farmer, 79, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly Rohrer, Illinois, died Monday, August 27, 2001 in John Knox Village Nursing Home in Tampa, Florida. He was born July 25, 1922, in Rorher, Illinois, a son of Samuel W. and Edna M. Chiles Farmer. He married Elizabeth Ann Stilley and she preceded him in death in 1983, he then married Mildred Schaefer and she preceded him in death in 1992, after which he married Peggy Wilcox and she preceded him in death in 1993, and on July 13, 1993 he married Bonnie Polvado, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons: Dan (wife Donna) Farmer of Brazil, Indiana; Alan Farmer of Terre Haute, Indiana; Dave (wife Kathy) Farmer of Bolingbrook, Illinois; four daughters: Paula (husband Jimmie) Pierce of Terre Haute, Indiana; Marilyn (husband Mike) Callahan, of Kingsport, Tennessee; Kathleen (husband Jimmy) Goodall of Pendleton, Indiana; Laurie (husband Bill) Kessler of Indianapolis, Indiana; one brother: Lyndell (wife Evelyn) of Homestead, Florida; one sister; Wilma Crayne of Waverly, Illinois, seven grandchildren; and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by three wives and two sisters: Evelyn Rector and Dorothy Elliott.
He was born and raised in Rorher, Illinois, upon leaving there he was in the Army bomb group during World War II, serving in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre, where he was in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe and Air Offensive Europe. After the war his lifetime occupation was a tool and die maker in Terre Haute, Indiana, retireing after 22 years as Shop Superintendent and Vice President.
Wherever he lived he always felt like Rorher was his home. Everyone enjoyed his stories of Rohrer and of his World War II experiences.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 1, 2001 in Neece Funeral Home in Waverly, Illinois. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of services. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery in Waverly, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to Waverly East Cemetery or The American Cancer Society.

George R. Farrow Sr.
George R. Farrow, Sr., 96 of Eldred died Tuesday morning, September 25, 2001 at Barton W. Stone Christian Home in Jacksonville.
He was bom on August 20, 1905 in Eldred, the son of Adellis and Elizabeth Goode Farrow. He married Verna F. Bartlett on December 26,1934 in St. Louis, Missouri and she preceded him in death on September 19, 2000.
He is survived by three sons, George, Jr. (wife, Judy) of Eldred, Donald (wif6, Sharon) of Springfield and Jerry (wife, Sharyn) of Poway, Califpmia; two daughters, Linda (husband, Gary) Reif of Jacksonville and Carol (husband, Robert) Piper of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Harland Farrow.
Mr. Farrow graduated from Eldred High School in 1923 and Carrollton High School in 1924. In 1926, he received an Electrical Engineering Degree from Chicago Engineering School. He started the Green Valley Farms Dairy in Eldred and later moved the Dairy operation to Carrollton under the name of "Green Valley Dairy". He was also a grain and dairy farmer until he retired in 1973.
Mr. Farrow was a member and Deacon of the Eldred Baptist Church and the Stuart Pierson Masonic Lodge in Carrollton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2001 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with burial in Eldred Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the
funeral home with Masonic services at 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested in his name to the Eldred Baptist Church.

Mrs. Barbara H. Ferriman (Hatch)
Barbara H. Ferriman, 95. of Jacksonville died Thursday morning, June 28, 2001at Pittsfield Manor in Pittsfield, Illinois. She was born on August 4, 1905, in LaGrange, Illinois, the daughter of Lemoine S. and Maude Hinman Hatch. She married Myron Robert “Bob” Ferriman on June 17, 1929 in La Grange and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1993.
She is survived by one son, Robb (wife, Maggie) Ferriman of Jefferson City, Missouri; two daughters: Jean (husband, Howard) Schone of Jacksonville and Beth (husband, Fred) Ahlborn of Magness, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Lemoine and John Hatch, and one sister, Adeline Bulot.
Mrs Frrriman was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Jacksonville. She enjoyed painting, reading, needlework and playing Bridge. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
The Burial Office will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2001 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Jacksonville with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. Friends may call after Noon on Sunday at Williamson Funeral home with the family meeting friends from 3-5 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Episcopal Church.

Mr. John "Dick" Finch
John F. “Dick” Finch, 87, of Lynnville died Monday afternoon, March 26, 2001 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. He was born on May 27, 1913 in Murrayville, the son of Otto and Johanna Whalen Finch. He married Martha Angelo on December 26, 1934 in Winchester and she preceded him in death on January 26, 1994.
He is survived buy his two sons, John M. (wife, Carol) Finch of Jacksonville and Henry R. (wife, Sue) Finch of College Station, Texas; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Finch of Jacksonville and one half-sister, Ruth Finch of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Finch; and one sister, Mildred Pierce.
Mr. Finch farmed in the Lynnville area and served as a custodian with School District 117 for thirteen years. He was a member of Lynnville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2001 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville. Friends may call after noon on Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Lynnville Methodist Church or Lynnville Christian Church.

Mrs. Phyllis Etna Lee Fisher (Wyatt)
Phyllis Etna Lee Fisher, age 80, of Jacksonville, formerly of White
Hall, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 21, 2001 at Passavant Area Hospital
in Jacksonville.
She was born May 6, 1920 in Green e County, the daughter of Donald
and Beatrice Etna Retherford Wyatt.
She married Lynn “Pete” Fisher on Oct. 27, 1944 in Carrollton and he
preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1989.
She is survived by three sons, Edward L. (wife, Connie) Fisher of
Glendale, Ariz.; Robert L. (wife, Carolyn) Stone of Rockport, Texas and
Donald C. (wife, Joyce) Stone of Gramercy, Louisiana; two daughters,
Sharon L. (husband, Johnny) Gill of Jacksonville and Mary Jean Fernandez
of Ft. Worth, Texas; her stepmother, Louisa Mae Wyatt of Jacksonville;
twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Sarah J.
Callaway of Bryant, Arkansas and Evelyn Ray of Malvern, Arkansas. She
was preceded in death by one grandson, Charles Celcer; one brother, Jack
Wyatt and three stepsisters.
Mrs. Fisher worked at the Roodhouse Co-Ed Dress Factory and later
was manager of the McCrory Five & Dime Stores in Jacksonville, then in
Charlestown, West Virginia and then Bucyrus, Ohio retiring in 1981, when
she and her husband moved back to White Hall. In January of 2000 she
moved to Glendale, Arizona, where her son lives, and worked as a
receptionist at Heather Glen Care Center until September 2000 when she
moved to Jacksonville. She was a member of the Jacksonville Church of
Christ.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001
at the Belltown Cemetery at Belltown. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00
p.m. Friday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall. Memorials
are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Irene T. Fitzsimmons (Banghart)
Irene Fitzsimmons, age 85, died at 11:25 A.M. on Sunday August 5, 2001
at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Green field on August 28, 1915 she was the daughter of the late
Peter and Appalonia Kirbach Banghart.
On August 26, 1939 she married Stuart I. Fitzsimmons in Carrollton and
he preceded her in death in 1984.
Surviving are a daughter : Mrs. Taylor “Elizabeth” Pensoneau of New
Berlin, 2 grandsons: Travis March of New Berlin and Jared March of
Palmyra, 1 great grandchild, a sister: Frances “Pat” Lawrence of Chandler,
Ariz.. She was preceded in death by a brother Bill Banghart and a sister
Marie Wetzel.
Mrs. Fitzsimmons was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in
Carrollton, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Linder Get-Together
Club, the Rockbridge Magazine Club and was a graduate of Our Savior’s
School of Nursing in Jacksonville. She loved playing cards with family and
friends.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Wednesday at the Airsman-Hires
Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at
10 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Carrollton with burial to follow in
the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Catholic Daughters of
America.

Augusta M. Flick (Langner)
Augusta M. Flick, 74, of Carrollton died at 4:30 P.M. on Thursday Sept.
13, 2001 at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton.
Born in West Germany on Nov. 27, 1926 she was the daughter of the late
Gustav and August Muller Langner.
She married Leslie Flick on July 17, 1948 in West Germany and he
preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1998.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law: Dr.William “Bill” and Ann Flick
of Burr Ridge, Il. and a grandson : Paul Flick of Chicago. She was preceded
in death by a brother and sister: Gustav and Louisa.
Mrs. Flick was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church and
a former member of the PEO.
Memorial services will be held on Sat. Sept. 22, 2001 at 11 A.M. at the
Carrollton United Methodist Church in Carrollton. Memorials may be made
to the Reisch Memorial Nursing Home. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in
Carrollton is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Judy Louise Flynn (Carter)
Judy Louise Flynn, 54, of Jacksonville died Sunday evening, January 14, 2001 at her residence. She was born July 20, 1946 in Jacksonville the daughter of Russell and Dosha Marie Watson Carter. She married Russell Francis Flynn in 1970 in Jacksonville and he survives.
She is survived by one son, Scott Flynn of Beardstown; one daughter, Annette (husband, Dave) Kessinger of Jacksonville; 5 grandchildren; and one brother, Bill (wife, Bev) Carter of Bebe, Arkansas.
Mrs. Flynn was a sales clerk at Wal-Mart for many years. She was a participant in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and enjoyed crafts, gardening, and volleyball.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Concord Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 6-8 p.m.. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mr. Ronald D. Ford
Ronald D. Ford, 60, of Chapin died Saturday afternoon, December 22, 2001 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born December 2, 1941 in rural Green e County the son of John Wilson and Lena Lucille Shafer Ford. He married Betty Sue Baxter on July 24, 1966 in Rushville and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Dale (wife, Susannah) Ford of Chapin and Steve (wife, Sarah) Ford of Virginia; two daughters, Suzie Ivy of Woodson and Sarah (husband, Robert) Wheeler of Chapin; five grandchildren; his mother of Jacksonville; four brothers, Kenneth (wife, Jane Ann) Ford of Winchester, Wilson (wife, Donna) Ford of Henry, John Ford of Hillview, and Dick (wife, Beth) Ford of Rushville; and three sisters, Mary Lou (husband, Harold) Reed of Victoria, Texas; Sandra (husband, Ronnie) Moore of Winchester, and Janis Ford of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Curtis Ford.
Mr. Ford had worked at EMI in Jacksonville for eleven years. He faithfully attended and had been an officer at Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2001 at Westfair Baptist Church with burial at Rushville City Cemetery at Rushville. Friends may call after 12 Noon on Wednesday at the Williamson Funeral Home where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Westfair Baptist Church or Westfair Christian Academy.
