Mrs. Donna K. Johnson (Dixon)
Donna K. Johnson, age 71, of the Pittsfield HealthCare Center in Pittsfield, Ill. and formerly of the Griggsville Estates Boarding Home in Griggsville and Perry, Ill. died Monday morning (February 5, 2001) at the HealthCare Center.
She was born November 22, 1929 in Chambersburg, Ill. daughter of the late Clyde and Norma Grant Dixon.
She married Sylvan “Sodie” Johnson on March 15, 1949 in Springfield, Ill. and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1989.
Surviving is one daughter, Jill Louise Johnson of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, Philip K. Johnson and wife Billie of Perry, Ill.; two grandchildren, Tasha and Lori Johnson of Perry, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Betty) Tucker of Perry, Ill.; a special friend, Clarence Birdsell of Pittsfield, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson, Kent Orr Johnson; a brother, Fred Dixon; and a nephew Scott Hayes.
Mrs. Johnson was a 1947 graduate of Perry High School in Perry, Ill. and managed the Perry Lanes in Perry, Ill. for many years. She also had been employed by Trio Manufacturing and Nature House Museum in Griggsville, Ill. as well as Read’s General Store in Perry, Ill.. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, dancing, bowling, sports, and family and friends. She was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday (February 8, 2001) at the Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville, Ill. with Rev. Dorothy Fellhauer officiating. Burial will held privately at a later date. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Huntington’s Disease Society of America or Perry United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Bertha M. Johnston (Moore)
Bertha M. Johnston, 104, of Jacksonville died Wednesday morning, October 17, 2001 at Barton W. Stone Christian Home in Jacksonville. She was born June 12, 1897 near Jerseyville, the only child of George Lee and Mary McQuown Moore. She married James G. Johnston in 1923 in Pekin and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by several cousins in the area including John A. Griffin, Mary C. Hankins, Irene Baker, Pam Hopper, Alene Savage, Sarah Murray, and Ruth Dawson, all of Jacksonville; Doris Cooper and Susie Simpson, both of Chapin; Tom Griffin of Beardstown; and James R. Griffin of Ft. Collins, Colorado.
Mrs. Johnston was educated in Granite City. For many years she resided in Galesburg, where she worked as a telegrapher and office manager for Western Union. In 1976 she moved to Jacksonville, where she resided until 1980, at which time she moved, as a charter member, to the newly constructed Wesley Village Retirement Home in Macomb. In July of 1998 she returned to Jacksonville to live in the home of Ruth Ann and Bill Dawson prior to moving to Barton W. Stone Christian Home.
Mrs. Johnston was a member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2001 at Concord Cemetery, near Concord.
The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilhelmina B. "Toots" Jones (Klemme)
Wilhelmina Berdena "Toots" Jones, age 97, of Carrollton, died Saturday morning, Oct. 13, 2001 at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton.
She was born April 21, 1904 in Golden Eagle, the daughter of Charles and Minnie Halemyer Klemme.
She married Walter Jones on Sept. 19, 1936 in Golden Eagle and he preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1978.
She was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Chickman and Mabel Lauritzen and three brothers, Chester Klemme, Richard Klemme and Harry Klemme.
Mrs. Jones and her husband farmed for many years at their farm near Hettick. She attended the Carrollton Presbyterian Church.
Private services will be held at a later date with interment at Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Eldred. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton is in charge of arrangements.

Neta Naomi Jones (Barnett)
Neta Naomi Barnett Bridges Jones, 87, of Winchester passed away Wednesday evening (May 23, 2001) at the Scott County Nursing Center.
She was born July 19, 1913 in Scott County the daughter of William A. and Matilda Elvira Hahn Barnett.
She married Truman Ross Bridges December 24, 1943. He preceded her in death April 27, 1958. She married Fred R. Jones May 28, 1964, he preceded her in death May 10, 1971. Also preceding her in death were 4 brothers, Archie, Harry, Burley and Alvie Barnett, 3 sisters Mabel Hanback, Goldie Steelman and Zelma Savage.
Mrs. Jones attended Loveless country school and Alsey School.
She was a homemaker, a member of Wilmington Baptist Church in Patterson, and the Chatter Club in Winchester.
She is survived by her devoted son Gary Ross Bridges of Winchester.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday (May 26, 2001) at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester.
Burial will be in Pine Tree Cemetery near Patterson.
Friends may call after 3:00 PM Friday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family.

Mrs. Mary E. Jones (Nash)
Mary E. Jones, age 91, of White Hall, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct.
16, 2001 at the White Hall Multicare Center in White Hall.
She was born Dec. 22, 1909 in Green field, the daughter of Edward L.
and Elsie Phillips Nash.
She married Norman W. Jones on June 29, 1940 in Carrollton and he
preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1974.
She is survived by one sister, Idabelle (deceased husband, Maurice)
Perdun of Jerseyville; one brother, Kenneth (deceased wife, Ruth Eileen)
Nash of Mission, Texas and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by one brother, Keith M. Nash.
Mrs. Jones worked at the Jacksonville State Hospital, retiring in
1974. She was a member of the White Hall First Baptist Church and a past
member of the White Hall American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed
crocheting and crafts.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2001 at the
Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial at the White Hall
Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral
home. Memorials are suggested to the White Hall First Baptist Church.

Mr. John H. Jordan
John H. Jordan, age 80, of Pittsfield, Ill. died 6:25 p.m. Tuesday evening (June 26, 2001)at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Ill..
He was born January 4, 1921 in Pittsfield, Ill. son of the late John H. Jordan and Catherine Dermody who immigrated to the U.S. from Ireland.
Surviving are two sisters, Ann Jordan of Pittsfield, Ill. and Genny Godar of Hardin, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Margaret Jordan, Mary Ochs, and Agnes Lanphear; five brothers, James, Tom, Richard, Paul, and Walter Jordan.
Mr. Jordan was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended Rankin Technical School in St. Louis, Mo. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving as gunners mate during W.W. II. He was employed by Sheppard Appliances in Quincy, Ill. and later was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Quincy, Ill. until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he was very active in the church serving as a Eucharistic minister. He was also a member of the Pittsfield Knights of Columbus.
He was an avid supporter of Pittsfield High School athletics and enjoyed bingo. John had many friends but closest to his heart was his family.
Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday (June 30, 2001) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pittsfield, Ill. with Fr. Michael Jenkins as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. with prayer service and rosary at 8 p.m.. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Pittsfield, Ill. with graveside military rites conducted by Pittsfield American Legion Post. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Geraldine Journey (Clark)
Mrs. Geraldine Journey, 86, of Carrollton died on Tuesday, August 21,
2001 at HCR Manor Care in Moline, Ill.
Born in Atwater, Ill. on Dec. 13, 1914 she was the daughter of the late
Sam and Ida Clark.
She married Earl Journey on Sept. 24, 1936 and he preceded her in death
on
Surviving are 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Diane and Kevin Stokeld of
Moline and Marsha and Ken Standefer of Westerville, Ohio. Four
granddaughters: Jennifer Broccolo, Jessica Stokeld, Amy Sell and Emily
Ham and two great granddaughters: Madeline and Isabella Broccolo also
survive as does many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 6 brother and 4
sisters.
Mrs. Journey was a member of the Carrollton First Baptist Church
where she was active in the Roses of Sharon Sunday School Class.
She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, the
Democratic Party Women’s Organization and the East End Reading Circle.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Friday at the Airsman-Hires
Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10
A.M. at the Carrollton First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the
Carrollton City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Carrollton First
Baptist Church.

John W. Juenger
John W. Juenger, 73, of Jacksonville died Sunday, March 4, 2001 at Prairie Village Health Care Center in Jacksonville. He was born August 26, 1923 in East St. Louis, Illinois the son of William George and Emma Ruth Hopwood Juenger.
He is survived by one brother, George Juenger of Onaway, Idaho and four sisters, Lucille Keller of Waterloo, Illinois, Edna Ramotowski of Spokane, Washington, Margaret Lett of Fairview Heights, Illinois and Ruth Kerrigan of Caseyville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Henry Juenger and Arnold Arthur Juenger.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Diamond Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Phyllis M. Karasek
Phyllis M. Karasek, 74, of Jacksonville died Monday morning, August 13, 2001 at Prairie Village Health Care Center. She was born on September 17, 1926 in Chicago, the daughter of Ethel Davis. She married Joseph J. Karasek on December 26, 1949 in Chicago and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2000.
Mrs. Karasek is survived by two daughters, Judith Cunningham (fiancée, William Reno) of Springfield, and Sharon Shinn (fiancé, David Hadley) of Jacksonville, and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Karasek had worked for Western Commercial Transport prior to moving to Florida where she cared for the elderly in her home. She moved back to Jacksonville in 1993. In late 1976, Mrs. Karasek went to work with the Manpower Agency in Jacksonville, winning the “Power Award” in 1979 for putting the most people to work through the Jacksonville area.
Mrs. Karasek also prepared taxes for small businesses and sold Avon Products in the Brookfield area. She had been a Girl Scout Leader in Brookfield and was a member of the Women of the Moose in Berwyn. She also volunteered her time with the Red Cross. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, bowling, fishing, knitting and crocheting.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2001 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. The family will meet friends from noon Thursday until 2 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross.

Mrs. Thelma G. Keehner (Pogue)
Thelma Gladys Keehner, 88, of Jacksonville died Tuesday afternoon, July 31, 2001 at her residence.
She was born on November 25, 1912 in Monticello, Kentucky the daughter of William and Ella Pogue. She married Buford E. Keehner on January 1, 1939 in St. Charles, Missouri and he preceded her in death on December 1, 1987.
She is survived by one son, Larry Keehner and one daughter, Peggy (husband, Leo) Carroll, both of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Brian, Bobbi , Chris, Tim and Megan; two great grandchildren, Briquea and Branson and several brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by one son Robert (surviving wife, Barb of Jacksonville).
Mrs. Keehner was a homemaker and worked at Andes Candies, later Kirlins, for over 20 years. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church serving as Sunday School teacher early in her life. She and her husband founded the North Side
4-H Club. She enjoyed gardening and she especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery.
Informal visitation will be held from noon until 5 p.m. on Friday at the Williamson Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Hospice Care of Central Illinois, Jacksonville Branch; Centenary United Methodist Church and Morgan County Fair Auxiliary.

Mr. Raymond O. Keltner
Raymond O. Keltner, 93 , of Waverly died Saturday, December 22, 2001 at Lynncrest Manor Nursing home in Auburn, Illinois. He was born December 14, 1908 in Lowder, Illinois., the son of Clem Allen and Ida Pearl Phillips Keltner. He married Maxine Frances Hays on December 19, 1946 in Carlinville, Illinois.
Mr. Keltner was a farmer in Waverly area all his life. He was a former member of the Waverly Lions Club and attended Waverly Methodist Church.
He is a survived by his wife Maxine; 1 daughter, Marlene (David) Rahe of Auburn, Illinois; 1 sister in law, Thelma Keltner of Waverly; 3 grandchildren, Allison, Daniel, and Joseph Rahe of Auburn, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, greatnieces, and greatnephews.
Visitation will be after 2pm, Wednesday, December 26, 2001 with family meeting friends from 4pm tp 7pm at the Neece Funeral Home in Waverly, Illinois. Services will be at 10:30am, Thursday, December 27, 2001 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetary in Waverly, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to the Waverly Rescue Squad or the Waverly Methodist Church Elevator Fund.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Russell Keltner.

Mr. Clarence Edward Kemper
Clarence Edward Kemper, 73, of Jacksonville died Thursday morning, September 20, 2001 at Skyview Terrace, Ltd. in Jacksonville. He was born on May 8, 1928 in Winchester the son of Tillman and Mary Ann Pulling Kemper.
He is survived by three sisters, Phyllis (husband, Charles) Bostic of Winchester, Barb (husband, Henry) Hubbert of rural Jacksonville, and Dixie (husband, Richard) Rolston of Lincoln; one brother, Tillman (wife, Doris) Kemper, Jr. of Alexander; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jean Kemper, and one brother, Herbert “Chub” Kemper.
Mr. Kemper had worked in the copper mines in Arizona and later had other jobs in Jacksonville and the surrounding area. He served in the United States Army and was of the Lutheran faith.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2001 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. The family will meet friends from 11 a.m. until noon on Friday at the Williamson Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Harvey Kesinger
Harvey Kesinger, 84, of Jacksonville died late Sunday evening, April 15, 2001 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born September 24, 1916 in Green field, the son of Ross and Lydia Kesinger. He married Lucille Henderson March 3, 1939 and she preceded him in death. He then married Lula Sonneborn and she survives.
Mr. Kesinger is also survived by the six step-sons, Roger Blankenship of Ahersville, Kentucky, Wayne (wife, Elaine) Blankenship of Warrensburg, Lynn (wife, Carol) Blankenship of Newport News, Virginia, Larry (wife, Jane) Blankenship of Newburgh, Indiana, Dennis, (wife, Brenda) Blankenship of Decatur, and Mike (wife, Raylene) Blankenship of Indianapolis, Indiana, and two step-daughters, Sandra (husband, Earl) Harmon of Jacksonville and Lori (husband, Bob) Tucker of Murrayville; 28 step-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and four nephews, Ross (wife, Jan) Prough of Green field, Harvey (wife, Rosie) Kesinger of Monmouth, David (wife, Margaret) Kesinger of Warrenburg, Missouri, and John (wife, Diane) Kesinger of Monmouth, and four nieces, Donna Warren of Minnesota, Peggy Salzar of Dahinda, Susan (husband, Bruce) Mills of Little York and Janet Cohn of Monmouth. He was preceded in death by one brother, Don Kesinger and one sister, Alma Prough.
Mr. Kesinger farmed all his life in the Green field area. He was a member of Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He loved life and had many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Hickory Grove Cemetery at Wrights. Friends may call on Wednesday after 11 a.m. with the family meeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Kidney Foundation.
