Mr. George William "Dusty" Morrison
George William “Dusty” Morrison, age 65, of White Hall, died
Friday morning, June 8, 2001 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 7, 1935 in Auburn, the son of Jesse Thomas and
Norma Tillery Morrison.
He married Donna Bailey on Jan. 17, 1962 in Trenton, Georgia and
she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Tammy (husband, Victor)
Travous of White Hall and Claudette (husband, Andrew) Goodrich of
Chapin; three grandchildren, Matthew, Brittany and Mary; one brother,
Jesse Morrison of Denver, CO; two sisters, Betty Burton of Green field and
Norma Nevins of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Morrison served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed playing
bluegrass and country music on his guitar with his friends. Dusty was a
semi-truck driver for over 45 years. He was a member of the White Hall
Masonic Lodge #80.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at
the White Hall Pentecostal Church in White Hall. Following the services,
cremation rites will be accorded. The family will meet friends from 12:30
p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers,
memorials are suggested to the family. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in
White Hall is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. John D. Mosley
John D. Mosley, age 90, of the Griggsville Estates Boarding Home in Griggsville, Ill. and formerly of Pittsfield, Ill. died Thursday evening (September 21, 2001) at the boarding home.
He was born April 16, 1911 in New London, Mo. son of the late James Henry and Mary Belle Fuqua Mosley.
He married Bess McLaughlin who preceded him in death in March of 1967. He later married Melba Blackorby on June 10, 1967 in Hannibal, Mo. and she survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Joetta) Smith of rural Nebo, Ill.; two grandchildren, Jonni Smith of Jacksonville, Ill. and Paul Smith of rural Nebo, Ill.; one sister, Mary Virginia Grafton of Columbia, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; one son, Mike Mosley; two sisters, Lula Duncan, Ruth Wooten; and five brothers, Walter Mosley, Asa Mosley, Wilson Mosley, Harvey Mosley, and Raymond Mosley.
Mr. Mosley was a grain and livestock farmer for many years in the Scott County bottoms. They attended the First Christian Church in Hannibal, Mo.. He enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and playing cards. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday (September 24, 2001) at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. with Rev. Dan King officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery in Barry, Ill.. Friends may call one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospice of Pike County, Ill. c/o the funeral home.

Evelyn Mottola (Kessinger)
Evelyn Mottola, 87, of Bridgeton, Mo. formerly of Wrights, died on Sunday
Feb. 11, 2001 at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton.
Born in Wrights on Nov. 28, 1913 she was the daughter of the late Curtis
and Grace Guthrie Kessinger.
She was married to Michael Mottola who preceded her in death on May
4, 1990.
Surviving are a brother: Charles Kessinger of Wrights and several nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 6 sisters: Theresa Wong, Loresa Cannal,
Loretta Bergland, Hester Gier, Almeda Raffety and Margie Carron.
Graveside rites will be held on Wed. Feb. 14, 2001 at Hickory Grove
Cemetery in Wrights, Ill. at 2 P.M. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in
Carrollton, Il. is in charge.

Mr. Walter A. Mueller
Walter A. Mueller, age 85, of Pittsfield, Ill. died Tuesday morning (February 13, 2001) at the Pittsfield Manor Nursing Home in Pittsfield, Ill..
He was born July 29, 1915 in Calhoun County, Ill. son of the late Carl and Mary Etter Mueller.
He married Mae Collard on May 1, 1937 in Bowling Green , Mo. and she survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Mrs. John (Sue) Teuscher of Pittsfield, Ill.; two grandchildren, Scott Sanderson and wife Debra of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Mrs. Mike (Laura) Boyd of Houston, Texas; and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Orville Mueller of Brighton, Ill.; three sisters, Dorothy Lemm of Bunker Hill, Ill., Jo Ann Buttinger of St. Louis, Mo., and Marie Squier of Nuevo, California; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Carl Ray Mueller; and one sister, Betty Berry.
Mr. Mueller was owner of Hooper Insurance Agency in Pittsfield for many years and retired in 1980. He was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church, Pittsfield Moose Lodge, and an avid golf and charter member of the Old Orchard Country Club.
He was a W.W. II veteran serving in the South Pacific theater in the Armored Division of the Anti-Aircraft Division and was a member of the Pittsfield American Legion Post #152. He served as a board member at the Farmers State Bank in Pittsfield, Ill. from 1976 until his death and was a past board member of the Pittsfield West Cemetery. He enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (February 17, 2001) at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. with Rev. Bob Morwell officiating. Burial will be in Pittsfield West Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m.. Memorials may be made to the Pittsfield United Methodist Church or to the Pittsfield West Cemetery.

Miss Bernice Louise Mulch
Bernice Louise Mulch, 87, of Jacksonville and formerly of Franklin, died Monday evening, January 22, 2001 at Skyview Terrace, Ltd. in Jacksonville. She was born on May 13, 1913 in Franklin the daughter of William R. and Agnes Vanstone Mulch.
She is survived by one sister, Monsolette Starr of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Arah Dean Morris and Marcella Little and one brother, Gilbert Mulch.
Ms. Mulch had been self employed as a housekeeper and babysitter. She was a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church and the Knights of Pythias.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2001 at Neece Funeral Home in Franklin, where the family will meet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Franklin Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

Mr. William T. "Bill" Murgatroyd
William T. “Bill” Murgatroyd, 88, of Jacksonville died Thursday morning, April 19, 2001 at Passavant Area Hospital.
He was born December 29, 1912 in Jacksonville the son of Richard and Kate Sherry Murgatroyd. He married Ruth Powell on February 7, 1948 in Jacksonville, and she survives.
Also surviving is one son, Thomas (wife, Lora Pond) Murgatroyd of Panama City, Florida, and two granddaughters, Sarah (husband, Pat) Phalen and Katie (husband, Bret) Hahn both of Springfield and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Richard, and Charles and two sisters, Ella Smith and Alice Cosgriff.
Mr. Murgatroyd graduated from Routt High School in 1930 and attended St. Viator’s College in Bourbonnais, Illinois on an athletic scholarship. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Captain during World War II. He was Provost Marshall commanding military police at the 509th Composite Group Wendover Army Airfield in Utah. After the war he returned to Jacksonville where he worked for the United States Postal Service for over 33 years. Mr. Murgatroyd was also a longtime referee in High School and College basketball and football throughout Central Illinois. He was a member of the Elks and American Legion Post #1379. Mr. Murgatroyd was a member of the Church of Our Saviour and the Knights of Columbus.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2001 at the Church of Our Saviour with burial at Calvary Cemetery at Jacksonville. Friends may call at the Williamson Funeral Home on Sunday morning after 11 a.m. with the family meeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will be conducted at 4:45p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Routt Athletic Association or to the Our Saviour Building Fund.

Marie Neal (Childers)
Marie Neal, 78, of Waverly died Friday evening, April 27, 2001 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born on July 2, 1922 in Alexander the daughter of Benjamin and Katie Lash Childers. She married Richard Neal on July 7, 1954 in Jacksonville and he survives.
She is also survived by one daughter, Betty (husband, Darrell) Hauenstein of Arlington, Texas; one granddaughter, Mary M. Smith of Lewisville, Texas; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (husband, William) Reynolds of Palmyra and Louise Ausmus of Chicago; one brother, Alfred Childers of Springfield, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Richard Baldwin and Timothy Bartz; and one brother, Orville Childers (surviving wife Ruby of Richland, Indiana.).
Mrs. Neal was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2001 at Youngblood Baptist Church in Nortonville with burial at Youngblood Cemetery. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Katherine Neighbors (Evans)
Katherine Neighbors, age 92, of Alton, formerly of White Hall, died
early Sunday morning, Feb. 11, 2001 at the Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born Nov. 3, 1908 in White Hall, the daughter of William
Ward and Lula Gullett Evans.
She married Olin E. Neighbors on June 10, 1930 in Houston, Texas
and he preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1977.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (husband, Kenneth) Barnd
of Alton and Judith (husband, Donald) Kracht of St. Peters, Missouri; three
grandchildren, Jennifer Jouett of Hazelwood, MO; Jeffrey Jouett of St.
Louis, MO and Kenneth (wife, Rebecca) Barnd of Fairview, Tenn.; four
sisters, Isabel Evans of White Hall; Maxine Evans, Carol Taylor and
Barbara Clemmensen, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and many nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia; and one
sister, Eleanor Evans.
Mrs. Neighbors was a life long member of the White Hall
Presbyterian Church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and
grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001 at the
Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial in the White Hall
Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the White Hall Presbyterian
Church.

Mrs. Regina A. Nell (Black)
Regina A. Nell, age 89, of Gallatin, Tenn., and formerly of Wheaton
and Green field, died Tuesday, Feb, 13, 2001 at Gallatin Healthcare in
Gallatin, Tennessee.
She was born January 30, 1912 in Green e County, the daughter of
Buell and Florence Carter Black.
She married Carl Nell on Oct. 24, 1941 and he preceded her in death
on Nov. 12, 1969.
She is also survived by one daughter, Kristen (husband, Donald) Nell
Lake of Gallatin, Tennessee; one son, Kevin (wife, Connie) Nell of Peoria,
Arizona; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Lenore
Snyder of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by one
sister, Audrey Surbeck.
Mrs. Nell was raised in the Hillview and White Hall area. She taught
school in the Green field School system for many years, and at LaGrange,
Illinois. She moved to Wheaton in 1976 and to Tennessee in 1999. She
was a member of the First Baptist Church in Green field and in Wheaton.
She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001 at
the First Baptist Church in Green field with burial in the White Hall
Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturday
at the church. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall is in charge
of arrangements.

Mr. Michael Joseph "Joe" Newman
Michael Joseph "Joe" Newman, age 46, of Walkerville, died early Wednesday morning, May 2, 2001 at the Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jerseyville.
He was born March 14, 1955 in White Hall, the son of Billy Gene and Betty R. Price Newman.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Newman of Walkerville, one sister, Melanie (husband, Roger) Mast of Harvard; four nephews; one niece; and six great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Jeffrey Newman and Mark Newman.
Mr. Newman was a 1973 graduate of North Green e High School and worked as a telephone contractor across the country for many years. He was a member of the Walkerville Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial in the Walkerville Cemetery at Walkerville. Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Walkerville Cemetery.
