Mrs. Patricia Mae Pryde (Hoffman)
Patricia Mae Pryde, age 61, of Baylis, Ill. died Thursday morning (August 8, 2002) at her residence. She was born October 8, 1940 in Decatur, Ill. daughter of the Everett and Ruth Cremeens Hoffman. She married Robert J. Pryde on April 15, 1976 in Maroa, Ill. and he survives. Also surviving are her parents, Everett and Ruth Hoffman of Lebanon, Mo.; five daughters, Vicki Duncan and husband Chuck of Andover, Minnesota, Kris Rinkenberger and husband Chuck of Morton, Ill., Tammy Brown of Springfield, Ill., Julie Pryde and partner Tamara Wait of Champaign, Ill., and Kristy Davey and husband Jeff of Plainfield, Ill.; two sons, David Pryde and wife Cara of Nobelsville, Indiana, and Terry Teel and wife Betsy of Heyworth, Ill.; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Katie Mitchell of Lebanon, Mo. Mrs. Pryde was a graduate of Maroa High School in Maroa, Ill. and attended Illinois State in Bloomington, Ill.. She was a past employee of Cummings Foods in Pittsfield, Ill. where she worked in the bakery department. She was an avid sportsman and trap shooter who received several awards for her ability in shooting trap. She was a member of the Pittsfield First Christian Church in Pittsfield, Ill.. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday (August 10, 2002) at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. with Rev. Kent Smith officiating. Interment will be held privately. There will be no formal visitation. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospice of Pike County c/o the funeral home.

Thelma Pyle
Thelma Pyle, 89, of Jacksonville and formerly of Litchfield died Monday afternoon, July 8, 2002 at Skyview Terrace, LTD., She was born June 21, 1913 in Indiana the daughter of Marie Menter.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of the Christian faith.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2002 at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice. Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements

Mrs. Hazel I. Quincy (Wagner)
Hazel I. Quincy, age 89, of Pittsfield, Ill. and formerly of Perry, Ill. died 11 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 8, 2002) at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, Ill. She was born December 1, 1913 in Vienna, Mo. daughter of the late Joseph and Etta Hill Wagner. married Ronald E. Quincy on November 9, 1935 in Mt. Sterling, Ill. and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Sharron Houchins and husband Donald of Nebo, Ill. and Judy Green and husband Gerald of Pleasant Hill, Ill.; one son, Michael Quincy and wife Peggy of Griggsville, Ill.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Connie Elrod of Denver, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Violet Sigler; and three brothers, Orlando, Roland, and Shirley Wagner Mrs. Quincy was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church in Perry, Ill who enjoyed reading Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wilson Cemetery in Perry, Ill. with Bro. Larry Stewart officiating. There will be no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside service Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Perry Cemetery Association or to the Salvation Army.

Mrs. Mardelle E. Quinlan (Worrall)
Mardelle E. Quinlan, 90, of Pomona, California and formerly of Jacksonville, died Monday, March 11, 2002 at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center in Pomona. She was born on January 12, 1912 in Murrayville the daughter of Charles and Molly Towning Worrall. She married Leo Quinlan on October 27, 1928 and he preceded her in death in 1998.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis E. (husband, Jack) Meader and Mary Jane (husband, Mel) Waldron, both of Pomona; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Quinlan was a member of the Church of Our Saviour.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sean Luke Quinn
Sean Luke Quinn, infant son of Gary Russell and Kathleen “Katie” Dougherty Quinn died Thursday afternoon (August 8, 2002) at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Ill.. He was born July 31, 2002 in Peoria, Ill. Surviving is his parents Gary Russell and Kathleen “Katie” Dougherty Quinn of Quincy, Ill.; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Deborah Dougherty of Fishhook, Ill.; paternal grandparents, Gary and Joan Quinn of Fishhook, Ill.; maternal great-grandfather, Vernon “Tuffy” Dougherty of Fishhook, Ill.; maternal great-grandparents, Lloyd and Ruth Crigler of Paris, Mo.; paternal great-grandparents, Phil and Evelyn Quinn of Mt. Sterling, Ill.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmothers, Bernice Dougherty and Kathleen Crigler; and paternal great-grandparents, Edward and Thelma Bentley Private services will be held Sunday (August 11, 2002). Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville, Ill. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Judith Ann Regan (Lair)
Judith Ann Regan, 64, of Alexandria, Louisiana and formerly of Jacksonville died Saturday evening, November 30, 2002 at her residence. She was born July 10, 1938 in Jacksonville the daughter of John R. and Bernadine Frye Lair. She married Jerome M. “Jerry” Regan and he survives. Judy and her husband Jerry, were natives of Jacksonville and had been married for 43 years. She is also survived by one son, Mike Regan of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Julie Van Praag of Houston, Texas; 3 grandchildren and one brother, Robert Lair of Tampa, Florida. Mrs. Regan was a graduate of Routt Catholic High School and a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed volunteering and assisting with the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon each year. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at the Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville with burial at Calvary Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 10-12:30 p.m. on Thursday at Williamson Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Children’s Miracle Network.

Mrs. Vera Emma Releford (Stahl)
Vera Emma Releford, 74, of Moweaqua, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2002, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Illinois. She was born June 18, 1927, in Kankakee, Illinois the daughter of Perry William and Florence Plant Stahl. She married Joseph Wesley Releford on November 18, 1944, he preceeded her in death on January 7, 1972.
She was a homemaker all her life and loved to read. She was a member of the Modesto Baptist Church in Modesto, Illinois.
She is survived by 5 sons; William "Bud" Releford of Palmyra, Illinois; Charles (Kathy) Releford of Mount Zion, Illinois; Robert Releford of Palmyra, Illinois; Denny (Tracy) Releford of Palmyra, Illinois; Richard (Mary) Releford of Jacksonville, Illinois; 4 daughters; Jacqueline "Jackie"Sonneborn of Hettick, Illinois; Charlotte (Stanley) Taylor of Moweaqua, Illinois; Marilyn (Gary) Liter of Jacksonville, Illinois; Vera "Ginger" Davis of Wood River, Illinois; 1 brother Leonell (Joyce) Stahl of Springfield, Illinois; 4 sisters, Marlo Scott of Wood River, Illinois; Janet Timmermeier of Bunker Hill, Illinois; Karen Leach of Chesterfield, Illinois; Wanda Hausman of Palmyra, Illinois; and a step mother, Ruth Stahl of Palmyra, Illinois; Illinois; 22 granchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 11 great great granchildren.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, 1 daughter Ruth Elizabeth Releford, 2 grandsons, Tom Sonneborn and James Sonneborn.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, Febuary 2, 2002 at 2pm at the Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra, Illinois. Family will meet friends at the funeral home from 12pm noon until service time. Burial will be in Gilead Cemetery in Hettick, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Lucille Reynolds (Ferguson)
Lucille Reynolds, 97, of Carrollton formerly of Kane died at 12:07 P.M. on
Monday at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton.
Born in Kane on Jan. 21, 1905 she was the daughter of the late Charles
and Jeanettie Reno Ferguson.
She was married to Garsell Reynolds on Aug. 4, 1928 in East Alton, Il.
and he preceded her in death in 1971.
Surviving are Close friends Bob Devening and family and Keota Crane
and Family. 3 nieces- Pauline Drenning of Oxnard, Ca. , Dorothy Schmitz of
Burbank, Ca. and Shirley Clow of Palmetto, Fla., 1 nephew Earl Retherford
of St. Louis, Mo. She was preceded in death by a brother Everett Ferguson
and 3 sisters Jeanettie Ferguson, Vivian Retherford and Adaline Wheeler.
Lucille was a member of the Kane Methodist Church and the Order of
the Eastern Star St. Elizabeth Chapter in Kane.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until service time at 11 A.M. on
Saturday July 20 at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial
will follow the services in the Kane Cemetery. Memorials may be made to
the Kane Methodist Church or Reisch Memorial Nursing Home.

Mr. Darwin B. Richard
Darwin B. Richard, age 92, of Wood River, died Friday afternoon,
April 12, 2002 at the Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
He was born Dec. 16, 1909 in Pike County, Missouri, the son of
Charles Newton and Bird Smith Richard.
He married Zelda W. Hicks on Sept. 30, 1938 at St. Genevieve,
Missouri and she preceded him in death on Sept. 7, 1987.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy (husband, Paul) Woolsey of
Carlinville and Jacquie (husband, Larry) Wahle of Alton; one son, Lance
(wife, Ellen) Richard of Edwardsville; eight grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Maurine Rule and
four brothers, Edwin and Paul and two in infancy.
Mr. Richard served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He
worked in road construction for many years and was a member of the
International Union of Operating Engineers Local 513 in St. Louis,
Missouri. He retired as a superintendent of road construction in 1984. He
was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Edwardsville and had attended the
Methodist Church in Louisiana, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at
the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial at the Pine Tree
Cemetery near Patterson. The family will meet friends from 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials are
suggested to the Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation.

Mr. Alfred O. Richey
Alfred O. Richey, 96, of Jacksonville died early Tuesday morning, March 5, 2002 at Passavant Area Hospital. He was born on February 13, 1906 in Schuyler County the son of Orville and Iva Fisk Richey. He married Phyllis Thurman on August 29, 1948 in Colchester, and she survives.
Also surviving is one son, John (wife, Robin) Richey of Eureka and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Richey and Martha Knisley, one grandson, Andrew Scott Knisley, one brother, Donald and two sisters, Ellen Miller and an infant sister, Dorothy.
Mr. Richey graduated from Augusta High School in Hancock County and attended Western Illinois State Teacher’s College in Macomb. He taught school for several years in rural Schuyler and McDonough schools. After serving in the United States Army he returned and farmed for many years in Schuyler County. Upon his retirement from farming in 1968 he and his wife moved to Jacksonville. Mr. Richey was a charter member of the Jacksonville Chess Club, a collector of old books and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the Christian Church and attended the Salvation Army Church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Exeter Cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon on Thursday with the family meeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.

Mr. Charles R. Riddleberger
Charles R. Riddleberger, 66, of Murrayville died Sunday evening, December 29, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born August 10, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of Thomas R. and Ruth Kavanaugh Riddleberger. He married Marilyn Henderson Goodey on March 17, 1972 in Winter Haven, California and she survives. He is also survived by 3 daughters, Cheryl (husband, Kevin) Huiet, Debra (husband, Mike) Richards and Ruth (husband, Doug) Comon all of Arizona; 6 sons, John (wife, Devina) Riddleberger, Kenneth (wife, Rene) Riddleberger, Karl (wife, Melinda) Riddleberger all of Arizona, Robert (wife, Val) Goodey and Mike (wife, Cindy) Goodey both of Jacksonville and Steve (wife, Belinda) Goodey of Bloomington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy Hanley of Australia. Mr. Riddleberger was a retired construction superintendent. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Moorpark, California, Murrayville American Legion Post # 311 and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed woodworking and cabinetry. Private services will be held. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com. Mr. William Evans Robertson
William Evans Robertson, 93, of Waverly, died Monday, October 14, 2002 in St. John’s Hospice, Springfield, IL. He was born June 20, 1909 in Butler, Il,. a son of William E. and Minnie Louise Masters Robertson. He married Clara Isabella Newberry on March 14, 1936 in Waverly, IL, and she survives. Also surviving are one son: Maurice “Morrie” (wife Jean) Robertson of Jacksonville; one daughter: Diane (husband Jerry) Miller of Pawnee; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Floyd and Lester Robertson, and two sisters: Josephine Turner and Mildred Hulbert. He retired from Robertson Brothers Garage in Modesto, IL. He was a 50 year member of Waverly Masonic Lodge # 118 and a 50 year member of Wilber Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Chapter # 358 in Jacksonville. Following Cremation, Memorial Services will be held at 4 pm Sunday, October 20, 2002 in Neece Funeral Home in Waverly where the family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Waverly First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Mrs. Margaret Bernice Robinson (Gabhart)
Margaret Bernice Robinson, 83, of Jacksonville departed this life on Friday, February 1, 2002 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford. She was born July 22, 1918 in Morgan County the daughter of Edgar and Hallie Devine Gabhart. She married Carl S. Robinson on April 5, 1937 in Mexico, Missouri and they were happily married 63 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy (husband, Larry) Hoffman of Ft. Myers, Florida and Carolyn Sue (deceased husband, Walter S.) Medernach of Aurora; one son, Carl Michael (wife, Lee) Robinson of Zion; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two sisters, June (husband, Glenn) Schone of Chapin and Bess (husband, Sol) Shurpin of Miami Beach, Florida; and one brother, Bill (wife, Pat) Gabhart of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, sadly less than two months ago; five brothers, Chester, Marvin, Vernon, Jim and infant Jake Gabhart; and four sisters, Elsie Gabhart, Viola Pulse, Mildred Winter, and Juanita Cook.
Bernice worked for the Illinois School for the Deaf for 33 years and retired from there in 1979. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, neighbor, and friend. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and tending to her garden and her flowers. She was also known for being the best cook in the world and had a great sense of humor. She was very loved and will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Ebenezer Cemetery, north of Jacksonville. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

Mr. Bruce Warner Robson
Bruce Warner Robson, 35, of Jacksonville, died Sunday evening, July 28, 2002 near Meredosia. He was born on June 4, 1967 in Jacksonville, the son of James and Patricia Phillips Robson, Jr. He married Julia Coats Mann on June 16, 2000 in Jacksonville and she survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Jacklyn, of rural Jacksonville; his parents of Jacksonville; two brothers, Kevin Robson of Binghamton, New York and Glenn (wife, Marla) Robson of Omaha, Nebraska; one sister, Danette (husband, Kyle) DeFrates of South Jacksonville; paternal grandparents James and Kathryn Robson, Sr. and Clyde and Margaret Phillips, all of Jacksonville; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. Mr. Robson was a police officer with the City of Jacksonville Police Department since February 15, 1997. Prior to that he had been employed as a police officer with the Village of South Jacksonville Police Department since 1990, attaining the rank of sergeant in 1993. He was a 1985 graduate of Jacksonville High School and attended the Illinois State Police Academy in Springfield. Mr. Robson was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and other outdoor activities. He was a member of the Thursday Night Bass Club at Lake Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2002 at the Central Christian Church in Jacksonville, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. Friends may call after 12 Noon on Thursday at the Williamson Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends after 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Jacksonville/Morgan County Underwater Search and Rescue Dive Team or the Meredosia Rescue Squad.

Mrs. Vera M. Rodgers (Six)
Vera M. Rodgers, 87, of Jacksonville, died early Monday morning, November 11, 2002, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born on January 13, 1915, near Bluffs, the daughter of John and Edna Liming Six. She married Elmer Angelo and he preceded her in death. She later married Frank Wilbur Rodgers on September 12, 1959 and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1982. She is survived by one daughter, Loretta Vaniter of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Eleanor Hinman Ashbaugh, (surviving husband, Merlyn [wife, Jopi] Ashbaugh of Girard,) one son-in-law, Alva Vaniter, Jr.; one sister, Pearl Barfield; and five brothers, Virgil Six, Harold Six, Johnny Six, Raymond Six, and Eugene Six. Mrs. Rodgers was a homemaker and member of the Baptist Faith. Earlier in life she had been employed at J. Capps and Son in Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Carol Jane Rogers-Sealey (Awbrey)
Carol Jane Rogers-Sealey, age 52, of Ballwin, Mo. and formerly of Pittsfield, Ill. died Friday evening (March 1, 2002) in St. Louis, Mo. due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born February 2, 1949 daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy “Dottie” Brunswick Awbrey.
Surviving is her husband, James A. Sealey of Ballwin, Mo.; two children, Todd Rogers and wife Samantha of Troy, Mo. and Michelle Rogers of Columbia, Mo.; a brother, David Awbrey and wife Marie of Columbus, Ohio; a niece, Allison Awbrey of Cleveland, Ohio; and a nephew, Brent Awbrey of Toledo, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Henrietta Awbrey.
Mrs. Sealey was employed by the Dale Carnegie Corporation in St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday (March 6, 2002) at the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Chesterfield, Mo. with visitation from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Schrader Funeral Home in Ballwin, Mo.. Local services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday (March 7, 2002) at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill. Burial will be in Pittsfield West Cemetery in Pittsfield, Ill. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home.

Gerald M. Roth
Gerald M. Roth, 78, of Carrollton died at 6:30 P.M. on Thursday March
14, 2002 at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton.
Born in Michael, Il. on August 17, 1923 he was the son of the late Matt
and Margaret Becker Roth.
On June 4, 1952 he married the former Jo Ann Gillingham in Carrollton
and she survives. Also surviving are: 4 sisters: Bernadine Brecht of
Godfrey, Alberta Baker of Hettick, Mrs. William “Margaret” Wester of
Baldwin, Mo., Mrs. George “Betty” Witt of Green field, 5 brothers: Rolland
(wife Vera) Roth of Green field, Jerome Roth of Wrights, Albert (wife Posie)
Roth of Carrollton, Fred (wife Betty) Roth of Carlinville and Cletus (wife
Joan) Roth of Green field, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by 2 infant sons: Daniel Allen Roth and Stephen Dean Roth and a
brother Vincent Roth.
Mr. Roth served on the Board of Directors for the Green e Co. Farm
Bureau for 17 years and was a retired farmer. He attended St. John’s
Catholic Church in Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 3-7 P.M. on Sunday at the Airsman-Hires
Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at
10 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Carrollton. Burial will follow in
the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Hospice of
Green e Co., the Boyd Memorial Hospital, the Green e Co. Visiting Nurses or
for masses.
