Homer Thomas Jr.
Homer L. Thomas Jr., the brother of Morgantown resident Mark A. Thomas, died Saturday, October 28, 2000, at his home in Bloomington. He was 59.
Mr. Thomas was born January 27, 1941, in Bloomington, to Homer L. and Nellie J. (Lake) Thomas.
He was retired from General Electric.

Luda Jane Trinkle
Luda Jane Trinkle, the stepmother of Nashville resident Gina Riggen, died Friday, November 3, 2000, at her residence in Bloomington. She was 66.
She was born in Pueblo, Kentucky, June 2, 1934, to Logan and Bessie (Thompson) Phillips.
She first married Earl E. Trinkle. He preceded her in death. She then married Gene Trinkle. He survives.
Mrs. Trinkle has worked for General Electric, retiring in 1975.

Terry L. Ward
Unionville resident Terry L. Ward died Thursday, October 26, 2000, in Bloomington. He was 45.
Mr. Ward was born November 5, 1954, in Indianapolis to Lane and Lorine (Shore) Ward.
He was a self-employed carpenter for 15 years and was previously employed for six years by Circle B Construction as a carpenter.
He was a member of Southport Lodge 270, F&AM.

Talue A. Watkins
Talue A. Watkins, the sister of Morgantown residents Mary Jane Funkhouser and Betty Schmidt, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000, at her home in Martinsville. A lifelong resident of Morgan County, she was 69.
Mrs. Watkins was born December 31, 1930, in Morgan County to Floyd D. and Louise N. (McPhearson) Cook.
She was a 1948 graduate of Morgantown High School.
She married Robert Russ, who died in 1950. She then married Robert L. Watkins, who preceded her in death September 25, 1994.

V. Earlene Whited
V. Earlene Whited, stepmother of Nashville resident Ira Whited Jr., died Sunday, October 29, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital. A resident of Bartholomew County, she was 73.
Mrs. Whited was born in Fairland May 7, 1927, to Earl M. and Mary I. (Sanders) Morgan.
She married Ira E. Whited Sr. February 12, 1974. He died July 22, 1999.
Mrs. Whited worked in a number of Bartholomew County offices, including Northside Middle School’s bookstore, and she retired from that county’s auditor’s office.

Frederick Keith Ault
Brown County native Frederick Keith Ault died Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at Indiana University Hospital. An Indianapolis resident, he was 61.
Mr. Ault was born November 24, 1938, in Brown County to Albert and Zelva (Deckard) Ault.
He married Gloria Stillions in Bloomington January 6, 1963. She survives.
Mr. Ault and his wife were founders of VitaChlor Corporation. He had been president of the company 20 years.
He had worked as a chemistry professor at Ball State University for 27 years and instructor at Indiana University Laboratory School.
Mr. Ault also taught Chemistry and Physics at Brown County High School from 1962 until 1966. He also had the distinction of being the county’s first athletic director.

Vivian Juanita Bridges
Vivian Juanita Bridges, the sister of Nashville resident Patricia A. Galloway, died Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at the home of her son in Greenwood. A resident of Greenwood, she was 82.
Ms. Bridges was born in Bartholomew County January 22, 1918, to Leonard Alfred and Ruth Grace (Porter) Fowler.
She was retired in 1989 from Frampton Signs, where she was office manager. She also had been a carpentry technician for Ros-Lange Carpet Company and an associate artist for the William H. Block Company.

Beulah Catherine Stephens
Beulah Catherine Stephens, mother of Cordry Sweetwater resident Jean Shank, died Thursday, November 9, 2000, at her residence in Franklin. She was 88.
Ms. Shank cared for her mother for four years.
Mrs. Stephens was born May 28, 1912, in Mount Vernon, Kentucky. Her parents were Sam and Mary (Childress) McClure.
She married Elmer Wilson Stephens on April 17, 1929. He preceded her in death September 16, 1984.

Glenn A. West
Brown County native Glenn A. West died Friday, November 17, 2000, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center. A resident of Columbus, he was 84.
Mr. West was born March 7, 1916, the son of Alva and Clara E. (Howard) West.
He married Betty R. Koons. She survives.
He was retired from Chambers Vending Service Company, and was a former employee of Kaler Vending Services.

Mable Wilson
Brown County native Mable “Nadine” (Steele) Wilson of Franklin died Sunday, November 12, 2000, at Paris Memorial Nursing Home in Franklin. She was 78.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Brown County October 8, 1922, the daughter of Clifford and Lavina (Wright) Steele.
She married Ova C. Wilson December 16, 1950, at Amity Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1995.

David W. Yaseen
Dr. David W. Yaseen, a resident of Nashville, died Friday, November 17, 2000.
A memorial service will be held for him at the Cottonwood Church on Friday, November 24, at 3 p.m.

Scott Lee Caldwell
Scott Lee Caldwell, the stepbrother of Brown County resident Bob Arney, died Thursday, November 23, at his residence in Solsberry. He was 29.
He was born July 27, 1971, in Martinsville, the son of Charlie Caldwell and Peggy (Martin) Arney. They both survive.
Mr. Caldwell had worked for Sunrise Publications in Bloomington and attended Gosport’s Mount Pleasant Christian Church.

Joseph Dvorak Jr.
Tuck-a-way Ridge Road resident Joseph Dvorak Jr. died Saturday, November 11, 2000, at the Brown County Community Care Center. He was 91.
Mr. Dvorak was born June 11, 1909 in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Theresa (Smith) Dvorak Sr.
He married Dorothy M. Nugent. She survives.
He was retired from the bond department at First National Bank of Chicago, where he had been an assistant cashier.
A member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Mr. Dvorak also was a member of the Municipal Bond Club and a charter member of Exempters Club, both in Chicago.

Rosemont A. Need
Nashville resident Rosemont A. (Henry) Need died Saturday, November 25, 2000, at Brown County Community Care Center. She was 76.
Mrs. Need was born March 27, 1924, in Boone County, the daughter of George and Oressa (Morganson) Henry.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed ceramics and Bingo.
Survivors include nephew Richard Henry (Felda) of Morgantown and several other nieces and nephews.

Addie Peachee
Brown County native Addie Peachee died Saturday, November 25, 2000, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She was 92.
She was born June 21, 1908, to Almond and Margaret Mobley Mitchaner.
She and George L. Peachee were married February 17, 1925, in Indianapolis. He died May 22, 1966.
A homemaker, Mrs. Peachee was a member of Medora Wesleyan Church.

Jeremiah David Smith
Jeremiah "Jerry" David Smith, Sr. died Monday, November 20, 2000, in Nineveh. A resident of Nineveh, he was 59.
He was born November 8, 1941, in Indianapolis, to Leonard and Emma (Crane) Smith.
He and Nova Moore were married August 2, 1975. She survives.
A member of Church of the Firstborn in Indianapolis, Mr. Smith had been a owner/operator at Special Dispatch in Indianapolis for 21 years.
Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Chester Stillabower
Nineveh native Chester "Mike" Stillabower died Tuesday, November 21, 2000, at his home. A resident of Jamestown, Kentucky, he was 90.
Mr. Stillabower was born June 8, 1910, to William and Clare Belle (Galey) Stillabower.
He was the widower of Anna (King) Stillabower, who died September 8, 1978.
He retired from International Harvester in Indianapolis and was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Indianapolis.

Charles Wrightsman
Brown County native Charles Edward Wrightsman died Friday, November 24, 2000, at his residence in Bloomington. He was 80.
He was born March 14, 1920, the son of Orval and Effie (Bradley) Wrightsman.
He and Velma Brown were married June 14, 1941. She survives in Bloomington.
Mr. Wrightsman served in the US Army during World War II, and received a Purple Heart for his efforts during the war.
A farmer, Mr. Wrightsman had been a member of the Nashville United Methodist church.
He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Nashville, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Columbus and Disabled Veterans.

Samuel Gray
Samuel E. Gray, the brother of Spearsville resident Delpha Oliver, died Monday, November 27, 2000, at Walnut Creek at Sunset nursing home. A resident of Greencastle, he was 78.
He was born October 15, 1922, in Hamilton County, the son of Louis Garfield and Mabel Maude (Hines) Gray.
He married Lorean Joy Fox in 1946. She preceded him in death in February 1984.
He then married Margarie Walker in December 1984. She also preceded him in death.
Mr. Gray later married Sylvia Finchum. She survives.
After serving in the US Navy during World War II, Mr. Gray worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction.
