PLAINFIELD - Wendell F. Aldridge, 57, died Nov. 2 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Aldridge was born Sept. 16, 1942, to William H. and Juanita (Roberts) Aldridge. He was married to Kathlene (Rutherford) Aldridge. She survives. Aldridge owned and operated Utility Management Services, Inc., Indianapolis, for six years. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church where he was on the Board of Trustees; South Seminole Masonic Lodge F&AM 364, Casselberry, Fla. and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 369. Survivors include one son, Joseph E. Aldridge of Shelbyville, Ind.; three daughters, Janet A. Hitchcock of Dover, N.H., Amanda K. Tandy and Angela K. Aldridge, both of Plainfield; one step-brother, Rick Fallis of Shelbyville; two sisters, Thelma Heppner of Orlando, Fla. and Loretta Cox of Shelbyville and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Brent Bostic and his step-father, Virgil Fallis. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 5 at Plainfield United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

BADILLO
LEBANON, Ind. - Frank R. Badillo, 69, died Nov. 1 in Lebanon, Ind. Badillo was born March 9, 1930, to Atancio and Petra (Rios) Badillo. He was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Badillo. He was married to Anita (Watson) Badillo. She survives. Badillo was a welder at Union Carbide for 20 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and Zionsville American Legion. Survivors include four sons, Angel Badillo of Brownsburg, Christopher Badillo of Lebanon, Frank Badillo of Greenfield, Ind. and Tige Badillo of Whitestown, Ind.; four daughters, Michelle Badillo of Brownsburg, Teresa Adams of Lebanon, Ind., Jessie Badillo of Charlotte, N.C. and Rene Cruz of Omaha, Neb.; one step-son, Daniel Stovall of Whitestown, Ind.; three step-daughters, Barbara Weddle of Indianapolis, Vickie Keene of Linton, Ind. and Kathy Davis of Maxwell, Ind.; three brothers; four sisters; 29 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Nov. 5 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Brownsburg, with Jeremy Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Zionsville.

AVON - Wanda L. (Hutchison) Davis, 57, died Nov. 1 in Avon. Davis was born Feb. 10, 1942, to Vincent and Minnie (Kouns) Hutchison. She was married to James H. Davis. He survives. Davis was a homemaker. Survivors include one son Kevin Davis of Avon; two daughters, Stephanie Davis of Gas City, Ind. and Traci Davis of Indianapolis; six sisters, Aliene Hall, Betty Salyers, Katie Lucas, Charlotte Morrison, Joyce Rucker, Shirley Bostick, all of Rush, Ky. and one granddaughter. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 6 at Hutchison Family Cemetery, Rush, Ky.

HALTOM
DANVILLE - Floyd Haltom, 64, died Oct. 31 in Danville. Haltom was born Feb. 26, 1935, to Eugene and Grace (Stwalley) Haltom. He was married to Anna (Lisman) Haltom. She survives. Haltom was employed by Broady-Campbell Construction until retirement in 1997. He was also a brick mason for 42 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 118. Survivors include two daughters, Leanna Alverson of Danville and Janice Persinger of Plainfield; one son, Steven Haltom of Danville; four brothers, Raymond Haltom of Maryland, Bud and Leon Haltom, both of Indianapolis and Dale Haltom of Danville; three grandchildren and one step-grandchild. Services were held Nov. 3 at Baker Funeral Home. Burial was at Danville South Cemetery. HARLAN
PLAINFIELD - J. Elizabeth (Ford) Harlan, 93, died Oct. 29 at Hendricks Community Hospital, Danville. Harlan was born Oct. 27, 1906, to Leonidas and Mary (Gibson) Ford. She was preceded in death by her husband Benton Harlan. Harlan was a clerk with the Variety Store, Plainfield, and later a clerk with Colonial Gift Shop, Plainfield, for 37 years, retiring in 1979. She was a 50 year member of the Plainfield Rebekah Lodge 115; First Baptist Church, Plainfield and Cartersburg Order of the Eastern Star 519. Survivors include three daughters, Betty (Thomas) Dunham of Plainfield, Jo Ann (Thomas) Hoffman of Clarksville, Tenn., and Lola Mae (Thomas) Bertalotto of Lakewood, Wash.; two sons, Carl David Thomas of Hollywood, Fla. and John Leon Thomas of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Vaughn of Plainfield; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Services were held Nov. 2 at First Baptist Church, Plainfield, with the Rev. John Parsley officiating. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.

HUFFMAN
MOORESVILLE - Alma (Leslie) Huffman, 90, died Nov. 1 at the Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center. Huffman was born March 29, 1909, to Charles and Erika (Ritzenthaler) Huffman. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris "Jack" Huffman. Huffman was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Columbus, Ind. Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Clark of Fillmore, Ind. and Lois Jean Gochenour of Peru, Ind.; one son, Ronald Huffman of Mooresville; one sister, Dorothy Growe of Columbus, Ind.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. and services will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 6 at Barkes Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home, Columbus, Ind. Burial will be at Garlandbrook Cemetery, Columbus, Ind.

JOHNSON
LINTON, Ind. - Larry McKinley Johnson, 45, died Oct. 31 in Linton, Ind. Johnson was born Dec. 26, 1953, to James M. and Mary (Lawson) Johnson. His mother, Mary M. Kinder survives in Indianapolis. Johnson was a service manager at Carson-Ferguson Chevrolet Dealer, Linton. He retired from Methodist Hospital as a dialysis technician. He served in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include two daughters, Trenia Fletcher and Wendy Hall, both of Indianapolis; one brother, Robert Allen Johnson of Cloverdale; one sister, Margaret Curtis of Pittsboro; four grandchildren and four nieces. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 4 at David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro, with the Rev. Don Lambert officiating. Burial will be at Clayton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and to The Nature Conservancy.

LAROCHE
PLAINFIELD - Edward W. LaRoche, 41, died Oct. 27 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. LaRoche was born May 22, 1958, to Joseph and Mary Jane (Williams) LaRoche. LaRoche was a paper cutter at Alexander Press, Plainfield, for 25 years. Survivors include two daughters, Tammy LaRoche of Ocala, Fla. and Christina Holloway of Indianapolis; one son, Edward W. LaRoche, Jr. of Indianapolis; one brother, Dennis J. LaRoche of LaCross, Wis.; one sister, Connie K. Burkert of Plainfield and two grandchildren. Services were held Oct. 29 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, with Steve White officiating. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.

MCCRARY
MOORESVILLE - Mary Ann (Ballard) McCrary, 96, died Oct. 28 at Millers Merry Manor Nursing Home, Mooresville. McCrary was born Aug. 13, 1903, to Fred J. and Stella May (Landers) Ballard. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil McCrary. McCrary was a homemaker. She was a member of and Sunday school teacher at the Friendswood Baptist Church, Friendswood, Ind., where she was also a teacher emeritus of the junior girls. She was past worthy matron and secretary emeritus of Mooresville Order of the Eastern 260. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters Hope Temple, Mooresville and of the East End Bible Class. She was preceded in death by one brother, John A. Ballard. Services were held Oct. 31 at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, Ind.

MONTGOMERY
DANVILLE - Robert "Bob" E. Montgomery, 60, died Oct. 29 in Danville. Montgomery was born Jan. 7, 1939, to Elza H. and Thelma I. (Knight) Montgomery, Jr. His mother survives in Naples, Fla. He was married to Sara A. (Miller) Montgomery. She survives. Montgomery owned Monty's IGA Supermarket in Avon from 1965 until the business closed in 1998. He was a member of the Danville Conservation Club and Plainfield Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge. Survivors include one son, Kenneth R. Montgomery of Sunnyvale, Calif.; one daughter, Nancy A. Watkins of North Salem; two brothers, Bill and Ron Montgomery, both of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Sandy McCallum of Warrensburg, N.Y. and Peggy Shields of Danville and two grandchildren. Private services were held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vistacare Hospice Foundation, Indianapolis, or the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, West Lafayette, Ind., or to the American Cancer Society.

QUARLES
CLAYTON - Evangeline B. (Brown) Quarles, 79, died Oct. 22 in Clayton. Quarles was married to George W. Quarles. He survives. Quarles was employed by the U.S. Government at the U.S. Federal Building, working in property management for 20 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Irvington Presbyterian Church; American Legion Auxiliary and Delta Sigma Kappa-Beta Chapter, both of Danville. Private services were held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to the Multiple Sclerosis.

RADER
DANVILLE - Robert "Bob" E. Rader, Sr., 82, died Oct. 30 in Danville. Rader was born Feb. 2, 1917, to Elmer and Margaret (McCoy) Rader. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie (French) Rader. Rader was owner of Rader Fabrics, Danville, from 1973-77. He had also owned a fabric business in Muncie prior to moving to Danville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Danville and Danville Rotary Club. Survivors include one son, Robert E. Rader, Jr.; three daughters, Rebecca Ludwig of Ashland, Ohio, Suzanne Rader of Danville and Julie Oakley-Waxahachie, Texas; three sisters, Marjorie Simpson of Venice, Fla., Virginia Reynolds of Columbus, Ohio and Rosamond Carver of Davis, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Services were held Nov. 2 at 1st Baptist Church of Danville, with Pastor Paul Woodruff and the Rev. Ron McDugle officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to The Wheeler Mission, Indianapolis.

RAMEY
INDIANAPOLIS - Wilma Jean (Coonce) Ramey, 57, died Oct. 31 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Ramey was born March 28, 1942, to David W. and Ilo F. (Stewart) Coonce, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Arthur Ramey. Ramey was an inspector with the American Inn, Indianapolis and worked in housekeeping at the Tearman Motel, Franklin, Ind. She was also a medical assistant at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Survivors include three daughters, Deborah J. Calvert of Clayton and Deanna K. Ramey and Luann Kramer, both of Indianapolis; three brothers, David W., Jr., Joe Bill and Richard Wright Coonce, all of Noblesville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Services were held Nov. 2 at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home, Franklin, Ind., with the Rev. Steve Fair officiating. Burial was at Nineveh Cemetery, Nineveh, Ind.

RHOADES
INDIANAPOLIS - Beatrice M. (Terry) Rhoades, 94, died Nov. 2 at Hendricks Community Hospital, Danville. Rhoades was born Oct. 6, 1905, to Clyde and Grace (Poer) Terry. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Rhoades. Rhoades was a homemaker and former co-owner of Coffee Cup, Danville, from 1932-47. She was a member of Order of The Eastern Star. Survivors include two sons, John Rhoades of Plainfield and Terry Rhoades of Florida; one brother, Dr. Lloyd Terry of Danville; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one-great-great-grandchild. Visitation is at 10 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Danville Nov. 4 and graveside services will follow.

STEPHENS
LIZTON - William H. Stephens, 84, died Oct. 28 at Hendricks Community Hospital, Danville. Stephens was born Aug. 27, 1915, to Henry and Helen Maude (Hare) Stephens. He was preceded in death by his first wife Isa Stephens and his wife Viola Stephens. Stephens was an installer at Karstadt-Reed Drapery Cleaners, Indianapolis, for 25 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Isaac Walton League and the Indiana SheriffÕs Association. Survivors include two daughters, Stephani Steckler of Indianapolis and Sandi Cook of Brownsburg; one step-daughter, Kay Anderson of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 1 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Entombment will be at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.

WHEELER
PLAINFIELD - Jean Wheeler, 94, died Nov. 1 in Plainfield. Wheeler was the son of Joseph Allen and Flora Ellen (Shields) Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his spouses Velma Ruth (Cone) Wheeler, Julia (Wells) Wheeler, and Pauline (Harlan) Wheeler. Wheeler was a tool and die maker with RCA for 29 years, from 1941-70. He was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church; Danville Masonic Lodge and Indianapolis Scottish Rite. Survivors include three daughters, Beverly C. Shoemaker of Zionsville, Helen J. Finchum of Indianapolis and Vera Jean Showalter of Greenwood; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Services were held Nov. 3 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 4 at Coatesville Cemetery.

WILSON
AVON - Hazel P. (Davis) Wilson, 84, died Oct. 26 at Hendricks Community Hospital, Danville. Wilson was born Feb. 23, 1915, to Harry B. and Ruth (Hill) Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband George A. Wilson. Wilson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Brownsburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Survivors include one son, George E. Wilson; one daughter, Deborah K. Hardwick; one niece, Martha A. Minker; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were held Oct. 29 at David A. Hall Mortuary, Brownsburg, with Jerry Lastine officiating. Burial was at Brownsburg Cemetery.

ATTO
DANVILLE - Freda May (Montgomery) Atto, 66, died Sept. 25 at the Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center. She was married to John D. Atto, Sr. He survives. Atto was a homemaker. She was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 330, Groveland, Ind. Survivors include one son, John D. Atto, Jr.; two brothers, Kenneth and Leo Montgomery; one sister, Ruth Clemans and one grandchild. Services were held Sept. 28 at Conkle Funeral Home, Hendricks County Chapel, Avon. Entombment was at Lincoln Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Indiana.

CLINE
DANVILLE - L.C. Cline, 68, died Sept. 25 in Danville. Cline was born April 1, 1931, to Otis and Katie (Goad) Cline. He was married to Mary Mable (Gipson) Cline. She survives. Cline was a truck driver with Yellow Freight Trucking, Indianapolis, for 22 years, retiring in 1992. Prior to that he was a truck driver with Daum Overnite Trucking, Indianapolis, for 11 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 135. Survivors include five daughters, Pam Gill, Brenda Strode, Jan Shorter, Cindy Cline, all of Danville and Cathy Foncannon of Indianapolis; four sons, Larry and David Cline, both of Danville, Steve Cline of Hadley and Danny Cline of Indianapolis; one brother, Earl Cline of Moorehaven, Fla.; three sisters, Betty Bombie of New Braunsels, Texas, Barbara Hammons of Plainfield and Judy Milhon of Crawfordsville, Fla. He was preceded in death by one brother, Carlos Cline. 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services were held Sept. 28 at Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, with the Rev. Jim Sparks officiating. Burial was at Amo Cemetery.

BROWNSBURG - Elijah E. Cook, 79, died Sept. 24 at Brownsburg Health Care. Cook was born July 15, 1920, to Earl and Ruth (Fuller) Cook. He was married to Phyllis (Ellenwood) Cook. She survives. Cook was a truck driver with Shell Oil Co., for 20 years, retiring in 1972. Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Diana Trees of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Linda Sutton of Indianapolis; two sisters, Verna Fathauer of Fortville, Ind. and Georgia Ferguson of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Loren Cook of St. Louis, Mo. and four grandchildren. Graveside services were held Sept. 28 at Floral Park West Cemetery, with Jeff Trees officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund, Pilgrims Church, 13500 Freshman Lane, Ft. Myers, Fla. 33912.

DUNN
MULBERRY, Ind. - LaVon O. "Bonnie" (Arthur) Dunn, 82, died Sept. 24 at Home Hospital, Lafayette, Ind. Dunn was born Feb. 27, 1917, to Artie F. and Bertha (Hager) Arthur. She was preceded in death by her husband Otto E. Dunn. Dunn was a sales clerk for Wm. H. Block Co., Indianapolis, for 10 years, retiring in 1987. She was a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star Speedway Chapter. Survivors include one son, Richard L. Downs of Brownsburg; one step-daughter, Donna Townsend of Florida; one brother, Jack W. Arthur of Lebanon, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Services were held Sept. 28 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with William Steinke officiating. Entombment was at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.

HOWARD
AVON - Eunice J. (Mesmer) Howard, 70, died Sept. 26 in Danville. Howard was born Feb. 14, 1929, to Walter and Grace (Farnsworth) Mesmer. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth C. Howard. Howard was a physical therapist at Rock County School Systems for 40 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Westlake Community Church of God. Survivors include one son, David A. Howard of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; two sisters, Joann Stone and Mary Jane Mesmer; three brothers, Bud, Jake and Harly Mesmer and three grandchildren. No services were held.

MOORE
AVON - Robert E. Moore, Jr., 68, died Sept. 26 in Indianapolis. Moore was born Dec. 30, 1930, to Robert E. and Margarite (Rice) Moore, Sr. He was married to Marjorie A. (Roberts) Moore. She survives. Moore was owner of R & M Machine Company for 22 years. He served in the U.S. Marines in Korea. He was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church. Survivors include one son, Ron Moore; two daughters, Susie Frazer and Angie Cox; six sisters, Gracie OÕBrien, Barbara Moore, Ester Corbin, Dottie Robinson, Mary Curbeaux and Darlene Shoulders; four brothers, Jim, Gary, Louie and Bill Moore and seven grandchildren. Services were held Sept. 29 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Brownsburg, with Father Stanley Pondo officiating. Entombment was at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis. WESTFIELD, Ind. - James E. Shouse, 84, died Sept. 29 at Westfield Village Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his wife Opal (Lasiter) Shouse. Shouse was a disabled U.S. Army veteran injured in World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater where he received the Purple Heart; four Bronze Stars; American Defense Service Medal; Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Good Conduct Ribbon. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Smith of Indianapolis; one son, J.D. Shouse of Avon; three sisters, Florence Kelly of Hollywood, Fla., Aileen Shouse of California and Audrey Hauk of Crawfordsville, Ind.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held Oct. 2 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.

THURNALL
INDIANAPOLIS - Gloria A. (Cottongim) Thurnall, 62, died Sept. 25 at Community Hospital East. Thurnall was born June 2, 1937, to Charles and Allora (Wood) Cottongim. Thurnall was a homemaker. She was also a manager at Indianapolis Star and News in the Danville area for several years. Survivors include two daughters, Thresa Thurnall of Utah and Anita Childers of Danville; two sons, Ora and Harry Thurnall, both of Indianapolis; three step-sons, Dean Thurnall, Jr. of Oregon, Michael and David of Thurnall, both of Illinois; two step-daughters, Brenda Edick of Danville and Barbara Lair of Wisconsin; one sister, Zola Christy; one brother, Charles Cottongim; 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. WHITTAKER
AVON - Kailee Rebecca Whittaker, infant, died Sept. 25 at Women's Hospital, Indianapolis. Whittaker was born Sept. 25, 1999, to Anthony C. and Traci M. (Lottes) Whittaker. They survive. Survivors also include grandparents, Wayne and Pat Lottes of Avon, Richard and Ruth Ann Whittaker of Rushville, Ind. and great-grandparents, Robert and Martha Powell of Plainfield and Virginia Lottes of Avon.
