Betty Lou (Rhea) Arnold died Feb. 1 at her Mooresville home. She was 63. Born Aug. 9, 1939, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of the late Howard L. and Roxie E. (Warmoth) Rhea. She married Glen R. "Buck" Arnold in 1957 in Amo. He survives. Mrs. Rhea was a homemaker. She was a member of Amo Baptist Church. Additional survivors include daughters Debbie Wright and Shelly Poynter, both of Indianapolis; a son, Jeff Arnold of Amo; brothers Ken Rhea of Amo and Leroy Rhea of Muncie; sisters Christine Wise of Danville, Alberta J. Rosemary "Rosie" (Hurt) Beasley of Plainfield died Feb. 2 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. She was 75 and had formerly resided in Morresville. Born July 20, 1927, in Clarksville, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Paul H. and Katherine Elizabeth (York) Hurt. She married James L. Beasley Oct. 14, 1945. He survives. Mrs. Beasley worked 13 years as secretary at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis. She was a member of Plainfield Christian Church and former member of Tri Kappa. Additional survivors include a daughter, Cheryl L. Grimme of Zionsville; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Preceding her in death was a son, James Bruce Beasley; and a sister, Helen E. Hawkins. Services are 11 a.m. Feb. 7 at Plainfield Christian Church. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield. Rosamond B. Coleman of Indianapolis died Jan. 31 at Hendricks Community Hospital in Danville. She was 98. Born Feb. 21, 1904, in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late William C. Price and Maude M. Morris. She was the widow of Francis F. Coleman. Mrs. Coleman was a graduate of Butler University. She worked 46 years as an elementary teacher for the Wayne Township School Corporation before retiring in 1970. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Bridgeport Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, Richard Burnett of Brownsburg; granddaughters Deborah Tingen and Jennifer Ann Waggoner; a grandson, William Allen Burnett; and six great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a brother, Chester M. Price; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Hamilton. Services were Feb. 3 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg with John W. Kost officiating. Barbara Lee (Light) Dunkin died Feb. 3 at her Mooresville home. She was 61. Born July 20, 1941, in Linton, she was a daughter of the late Alvis and Mary Violet (Arnold) Light. She married Alvin Leroy Dunkin June 16, 1958. He survives. Mrs. Dunkin was a homemaker. She was a member of Cloverdale Assembly of God and Springhill Christian Center in Mooresville. Additional survivors include daughters Sherri L. Baker of Springfield, Ohio, Terri L. Ridenour of Plainfield, Mary A. Fenwick of Camby and Sandra K. Yvonne Elaine (Jackson) Edwards of Plainfield died Jan. 23 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was 53. Born Oct. 5, 1949, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of Roy William Jr. and Dorothy Lucille (Gabbei) Jackson of Mooresville. She married Larry Joseph Edwards Feb. 28, 1969. He survives. Mrs. Edwards was the office manager for Condominium Services in Plainfield for 25 years. She was a member of the Five Point Baptist Church in Mooresville. Additional survivors include a son, Casey J. Edwards of Cartersburg; a daughter, Crystal M. Fossmeyer of Avon; brothers Michael E. Jackson of Monrovia and Steven R. Jackson of Mooresville; and a grandson, Cody Joseph Edwards of Cartersburg. Jane Ellen (Christy) died Feb. 2 in Quincy. She was 39. Born July 5, 1963, in Bloomington, she was a daughter of Donald E. and Shirley (Brennan) Christy of Plainfield. Ms. Glendy worked six years as a legal secretary at Rund and Wunsch. She was a member of Seerley Creek Christian Church. Additional survivors include daughters Daphne LeAnn and Andrea "Andi" Kay Glendy; brothers David Christy and Jerry Christy; a sister, Donna Christy; and a grandmother, Barbara Brennan. Harold "Ike" Isenhour of Lebanon died Feb. 1 at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. He was 86 and formerly resided in Fayette. Born Feb. 21, 1916, in Fayette, he was a son of the late Melvin Jerome and Dimmie (Proffitt) Isenhour. He married Marjorie Ellen Burgin April 12, 1937. She survives. Mr. Isenhour was a 1934 graduate of Perry Central High School. He was a self-employed carpenter in Lebanon and Brownsburg as the Isenhour Brothers. He also worked 16 years in the maintenance department of the Lebanon Consolidated School System at Perry Central and Lebanon High School before retiring in 1979. He was a fmember of the Moose Lodge of Lebanon. Additional survivors include a son, Jerrell E. "Jerry" Isenhour of Brownsburg; a sister, Helen O'Neil of Texas; grandchildren Derek A. Isenhour, Angela R. Jones, Jeffrey C. Isenhour and Harold W. Isenhour; four step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was a son, Richard Isenhour; brothers Carl Isenhour and Roger Isenhour; sisters Mary McPherson, Ada Wilhelm and Mildred Smith. Virginia Lee (Branham) Jones died Feb. 1 at her Mooresville home. She was 71. Born July 2, 1931, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Velma (Williams) Branham. She married Walter H. Jones Oct. 2, 1948. He survives. Mrs. Branham was a homemaker. Additional survivors include sons Stephen Jones of Pittsboro and Jerald Jones of Brownsburg; daughters Eydie Jones of San Clemente, Calif., Kathy Jones of Brownsburg, Roseann Monday of Mooresville and Jeanette Neese of Ladoga; brothers Elvin Branham of Columbus and Bud Branham of Tennessee; a sister, Charlotte Utterback of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Thelma Cole Faccone Little of Indianapolis died Jan. 31. She was 92. Mrs. Little was raised in Madison. She worked at Davidson's Fur Company and enjoyed sewing and designing. Mrs. Little was the first State Senior Citizen Queen. She designed the path at Carriage House to the strip mall on 65th Street. She was the mother of Angelo Faccone, Emily Urgo, Angie Scruggs and Larry Little. She was the grandmother of Dawn Scruggs, Gio Chavez, Gina Arata and Maryanne McCann and had several great grandchildren. No services are planned. Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center in Speedway handled the arrangements.

Marian L. Martin of Brownsburg died Feb. 4 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was 77. Born Sept. 14, 1925, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of Roy Earl and Amelia Louise (Williams) Martin. Miss Martin worked 42 years as a marketing research analyst for Link Belt Bearing Division in Indianapolis before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Bridgeport Methodist Church. Survivors include sisters JoAnn Polsgrove, Geraldine McCollum and Betty Smartz; a brother-in-law, James Polsgrove; nephews Mark Walters, Paul Walters, John McCollum, Gerald McCollum, Clint McCollum and James Polsgrove III; nieces Catherine Fredriksz and Sue Ann Neal; eight great-nieces, 12 great-nephews, a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew. Preceding her in death were brothers Roy Jr. Martin, James Martin and Robert Martin. Services will be 10 a.m. Feb. 7 at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home in Greenwood with Pastor Karen Devaisher officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Pearl Maupin died Jan. 31 at Brownsburg Health Care. She was 89 and formerly resided in Clermont. Born Sept. 14, 1913, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of the late James Maupin and Alberta Alexander. Miss Maupin worked 34 years in the claims department of American States Insurance Co. before retiring in 1977. She was a member of Westside Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include several cousins. Services were Feb. 3 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg with the Rev. Stan Gerboth officiating. Interment was at Brownsburg Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Westside Church of the Nazarene.

Pearl C. Osborne Neese of Indianapolis died Feb. 3. She was 83 and had formerly resided in Brownsburg. Born Feb. 7, 1919, in New Elk Horn, Ky., she was a daughter of the late John Quincy and Fannie (Toon) Osborne. Mrs. Neese earned certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1965 and had worked as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She managed the Brownsburg License Branch for 27 years before retiring in 1985. In addition, she served as a Republican Precinct Committeewoman in Brownsburg and was a past president of the League of Women Voters in Brownsburg. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry L. and Jeanette Neese of Ladoga; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy N. and John T. Leppert of Indianapolis; a brother and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Betty Osborne of Brownsburg and Mary Osborne of Brownsburg; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers Lee Osborne, Stacy Osborne, Henry Osborne, Vester Osborne and Harley Osborne, and a sister, Nancy Talkington. Survivors include a son, David L. Ping; a daughter, Susie M. Millie Imogene "Iwo" (Oliver) Vann of Zionsville died Feb. 3. She was 78 and had formerly resided in Avon, Indianapolis and Brownsburg. Born March 31, 1924, in Miami, Okla., she was a daughter of the late William Robert Sr. and Ruth A. (Elkins) Oliver. She was the widow of Billy G. Vann. A graduate of Miami Oklahoma High School and NEO A&M College, Mrs. Vann worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She then worked 25 years as an administrator in admissions and radiology departments at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis before retiring in 1987. She was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church. Survivors include daughters Cate Woods Russo of Carmel and Mary Carlotta of Avon; sons Carnie Vann of Carmel, Casey Vann of Madison, Wis., and Michael Vann of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Milbourne A. "Buck" Vann of Coffeyville, Kan., and Joe Vann of Winfield, Kan.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Additionally preceding her in death was a brother W.R. Keith Lee Wynkoop of Mooresville died Feb. 1 at Morgan Hospital and Medical Center in Martinsville. He was 52. Born Sept. 12, 1950 in Indianapolis, he was a son of Roslyn M. (Troxal) Wynkoop of Brownsburg and the late Michael Leo Wynkoop. He married Katherine Elizabeth Morgan on March 28, 1981. She survives. Mr. Wynkoop worked 29 years as a skilled trades painter for Rolls Royce in Indianapolis. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local No. 933. Additional survivors include a son, Jesse A. Morgan of Indianapolis; daughters Sabrina N. Straub of Plainfield and Wendy N. Dreher of Palma, Mich.; grandchildren Jalyn Mikaela Straub, Alexandra Beth Straub, John Michael Dreher and Derek Gordon Dreher. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Phillip L. Wynkoop. Thomas F. Zerr of Brownsburg died Feb. 4 at Hendricks Community Hospital in Danville. He was 72. Born Oct. 23, 1930 in Brownsburg, he was a son of the late John Henry Zerr and Katherine U. Ford. He was the widower of Dorothy Zerr. Mr. Zerr was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for 22 years as a concession manager at Raceway Park in Brownsburg before retiring in 1992. He was a member of Brownsburg American Legion Post No. 331, a fourth degree member and former financial secretary for the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include a daughter, Alice Lamberger of Noblesville; a son John Zerr of Indianapolis; a sister Catherine M. Heckman of North Fort Myers, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Heather L. Zerr. Services will be 10 a.m. Feb. 8 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg with the Rev. Bob Gilday officiating. Interment will follow at St. Malachy Cemetery in Brownsburg. Stephen W. Ayers of Indianapolis died Feb. 5 at Hendricks Community Hospital in Danville. He was 56. Born May 16, 1946, in Greencastle, he was a son of Robert Ayers and the late Naomi Hawk. He married Beverly Faris, who survives. Mr. Ayers worked 30 years as a fabricator for Avon Auto Body Shop. He had been a stock car racer for 35 years. Additional survivors include sons Steve Ayers of Plainfield, Fred Ayers of Fishers and Wesley Ayers of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Ruth Hammon of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren. Robert "Bob" Delp of Greencastle died Feb. 2 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla. He was 69. Born Jan. 23, 1934, in Potomac, Ill., he was a son of the late Estine Ora and Ada Marie (York) Delp. He married Eleanor L. Yeager Aug. 5, 1955, at the Greencastle Christian Church. She survives. Mr. Delp was a 1952 graduate of New Winchester High School. He worked 40 years at Allison Gas Turbine/Rolls Royce in Indianapolis before retiring in 1992. He also served 35 years in the Indiana National Guard 38th Division. He was a member of the Hanna Street Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a past member of the Greencastle Community School Board. He was a member of the American Legion and the United Auto Workers Local 933. He was active with Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. He also worked as an assistant coach and timer for the Greencastle cross country team. He had formerly played on the Greencastle Travelers Basketball Team. Additional survivors include daughters Cathy Hartman of Plainfield and Karen Bromm of Indianapolis; brothers Everett Delp of Lizton, Donald Delp of Indianapolis, James Delp of Greenwood, and Billy Delp of Mooresville; sisters Shirley Ross of Nebraska, Irene Shoeing of Texas, Mary Delp of Plainfield, Betty Sutton of Martinsville, Loretta Fay Grouns of Spencer and Judy Shields of Florida; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Sheldon E. Meier Jr. of Plainfield died Feb. 5 at Hendricks Community Hospital in Danville. Born March 10, 1941, in Vincennes, he was a son of the late Sheldon E. and Jennie (Yates) Meier. He married Carla Groff on Feb. 14, 1960, in Sullivan. She survives. The Rev. Meier was a 1977 graduate of Clear Baptist College in Pineville, Ky. He was a Baptist minister for several Indiana churches including Thorntown and Ladoga. Additional survivors include sons Kevin Meier of Alabama and Kent Meier of Indianapolis; a daughter, Kelly Skillern of Mooresville; brothers Don Meier and Steve Meier, both of Sullivan, and Jim Meier of Worthington; sisters Catherine Mason and Linda Tryon, both of Plainfield, Betty Chenoweth of Florida, Mary Mitchell of Cloverdale and Roberta McCammon of Missouri; and nine grandchildren. Avis V. Redford of Indianapolis died Feb. 6 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. She was 81. Born Sept. 24, 1921, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of the late Frank Hadley and Georgia Smith. She was the widow of Lester "Jerry" Redford. Mrs. Redford worked 50 years as a bookkeeper at Richard Glen Associates before retiring in 2001. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Reppert of Indianapolis; sons Jerry Redford of New Palestine and John Redford of Avon; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Everett O. Delp died Aug. 4 at his Lizton residence. He was 72. Born Oct. 16, 1930, in Judysville, he was a son of the late Estine Delp and Ada York Delp. He married Nonie Courtney Dec. 28, 1949, in Martinsville. She survives. Mr. Delp attended New Winchester High School. He worked 42 years at Allisons Division of General Motors before retiring in 1992. He was a member of Covenant Grace Fellowship Church in North Salem, the North Salem Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis. Preceding him in death was a brother, Bob Delp. Services will be 2 p.m. Aug. 9 at North Salem United Methodist Church with Michael Landon officiating. A private burial is planned. Calling will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Aug. 8 at Porter Funeral Home in North Salem. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.

Hewitt
Aug. 4, 2003
Jean (Ellis) Hewitt died Aug. 4 at Heartland Health Care in Avon. She was 85 and had resided in Plainfield. Born Oct. 4, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Omar and Goldie Ellis. Mrs. Hewitt worked 20 years in the accounting department of Sears and Roebuck in Indianapolis until retiring in 1977. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Avon and Plainfield Rebekah Lodge No. 115. Survivors include a son, Larry Kelso of Indianapolis; a daughter, Diane Burrows of Indianapolis; a sister, Phyllis Everling of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Services are 11 a.m. today at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield with Marc Monte officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Morrison

Alban "Al" R. Morrison of Brownsburg died Aug. 2, following a brief illness. He was 47. Born Dec. 27, 1955, in LaRochelle, France, he was a son of Leroy and Annie Morrison. He earned a degree in accounting from Indiana University School of Business and worked as a financial consultant. Mr. Morrison was a member of St. Malachy Parish in Brownsburg and the Brownsburg Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Lori (Englehart) Morrison; sons Christopher Matthew, Logan Michael and Sean Patrick Morrison; brothers James, John and Joseph Morrison, all of Oklahoma City, Christopher Morrison of New York City, and Peter and Brandon Morrison of Pittsburg, Pa.; sisters Mary Morrison of New York and Jennifer Crawford of Washington, D.C.; and friends Robert and Gwen Crawford of Savannah. Services will be 10 a.m. today at St. Malachy Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg is handling arrangements. Pritchard

Oretha "Skipp" Drummond Pritchard died July 31 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. She was 80 and had resided in Indianapolis for the past 50 years. Born June 21, 1923, in Topeka, Kan., she was a daughter of the late James W. Drummond and Ida Lee Sherman. She was the widow of Robert L. Pritchard and had been a homemaker. Mrs. Pritchard was an active member of Trader's Point Christian Church. She had also belonged to Macedonia Homemakers Club, Bible Study Fellowship, County Club of Indianapolis, Hoosier Art Salon, and Tri Kappa Sorority. Survivors include daughters Jan Knoop, Ann Blaser, Nanette Helm, Marsha Decker and Amy Ingebretsen; sons Andy Pritchard and Greg Pritchard; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Diann "D.D." Mayer. Services were held Aug. 4 at Trader's Point Christian Church with Howard Brammer officiating. Interment was at Washington Park North in Indianapolis. Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg handled arrangements. Memorials may be made to Trader's Point Christian Church.

Smith

Garry L. Smith Sr. of Bluffton, S.C., died Aug. 2 at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center on Hilton Head Island, S.C. He was 60. Born Oct. 12, 1942, in Indianapolis, he was a son of Phyllis Wand Smith of Cloverdale and the late Richard H. Smith. Mr. Smith had resided in Indianapolis until moving to South Carolina in 1996. He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 669, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple of the Shriners, and Order of the Eastern Star in Pittsboro. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Alice Norrick Smith; sons Garry L. Smith Jr. of Danville and Terry L. Smith of Pittsboro; daughters Junita L. Carroll of Martinsville and Claudette L. Barton of Danville; a brother, Richard Smith of Clayton; sisters Judith A. Hartley of Brownsburg and Wanda P. Fowler of Wabash; and eight grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. today at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon. Interment will follow at Mannan Cemetery in Louisville. Calling at the funeral home will be for two hours prior to the service.
