D. KEITH HENIZE, 37, Palmyra, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at her home. She was a native of Elizabethtown, Ky., a former secretary for the old Home Transit Co. in New Albany and a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. Survivors include three nephews and a niece, Alta Turner, who cared for her. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 16, at her church. The body was cremated. Love Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy should go to her church.

KATHLEEN WILLIAMS, 83, Scottsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Heritage House. He was a native of Cynthiana, Ky., a retired employee of the old Smith Cabinet Co. and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Donnie Jones; and a stepson, James Hargres. Services were conducted Friday, Jan. 7, at Weathers Funeral Home. The body was cremated.

CLIFFORD GARRISON, 71, Salem, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at a private care residence. She was a retired teacher for Salem High School, attended First Christian Church of Salem, was a graduate of Franklin College, a member of the National and Indiana Retired Teachers Associations and the Franklin Chapter of the Delta Zeta Sorority. Survivors include a son, William C. Dustin of Salem; a brother, Robert E. Shanks of Orange, Calif.; and a granddaughter. Services will be at a later date. The body was cremated. WILLIAM ANDREW ELLIS, SR., 77, Sellersburg, formerly of Louisville, Ky., died Monday, Jan. 3, at University of Louisville Hospital. She was the former Gladys McNeeley, a native of Lexington, a retired laborer for the old ICI Americas in Charlestown, where she worked 35 years, and a Presbyterian. Survivors include her husband, Ralph E. Robison; two daughters, June Stutsman and Elizabeth Turner; a son, Charles Robison; three sisters, Marie Reece, Ruth Sharp and Jean Cox; two brothers, John and Donald McNeeley; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 6, at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg with burial in Lexington Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy should go to American Diabetes Association.

MARY BUFORD GILTNER, 78, New Washington, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was a native of Scott County and a registered nurse for Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Louisville. Survivors include her husband, Michael S. Cole; a stepson, Douglas A. Cole; her parents Hugh and Carolyn Holder; a brother, Hugh S. Holder Jr.; and sisters Anna M. Murphy and Margaret A. Johnson. Services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 8, at Grayson Funeral Home with burial in Beswick Cemetery, Clark County.

DELLA TULL VOLZ, 75, Madison, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at his home. He was a native of Owen County, a retired heavy-equipment operator, and a member of International Union of Operating Engineers and Moose Lodge 1757. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann Rothbauer; four sisters, Evelyn Wallace, Mabel Maners, Ada Parks and Flona Query; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. DAVID A. SHERRILL, 68, Sellersburg, died Sunday, Jan. 2, in Hephzibah, Ga. She was a native of Louisville. Survivors include her husband, Charles Borraga; two sons, Charles A. and Corwin R. Borraga; two daughters, Michelle I. Baker and Jennifer N. Borraga; three brothers, George and Joe Franklin and Terry Dooley; and eight sisters, Donna Burke, Jane Beal, Jackie Miller, Angie DeLacruz, Kathy Chadwick, Brenda Davis and Darlene, Dorothy and Linda Dooley. Services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 8, at Grayson Funeral Home with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

IDA BOWEN, 93, Charlestown, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was the former Judith Peck, a native of Indianapolis, a retired nurse for St. Anthony's in Louisville and a member of Floyds Knobs Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Richard McCrary; three daughters, Deborah McCrary, Kathy Colonna and Julie Lentz; a brother, David Peck; a sister, Martha Brideweser; a companion, Robert Lentz; and four grandchildren. Services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 8, at Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. PAULINE M. DIBBLE, 95, Palmyra, formerly of Paoli, died on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky. He was Cemetery following military graveside rites conducted by members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1083 of Crothersville. Visitation at the funeral home was observed from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7.

NORA C. POPP, 87, Henryville, Cemetery in Henryville. A rosary prayer service was conducted at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, at R.D. Pyke Funeral Service in Henryville. VERNON SPICER, 81, Scottsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, at his home. Born in Scott County, he had formerly lived in Paris before moving to Milton, where he had resided for the past 20 years. He was a retired employee of Cummins Engine Company's Holset plant in Madison, where he worked for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Army National Guard and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church at Leota. He attended the Milton United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Shane M. Austin of San Diego, Ca.; two daughters, Michelle M. Austin-Smith of Madison and Jessica L. Althoff of Milton; his mother, Minnie Mae Austin of Paris Crossing; seven brothers, Benny Austin of Blocher, Charles Austin of Plainfield, David Austin of Lexington, Bill Austin of Madison, J.D. Austin and Robert Austin, both of St. Cloud, Fl., and Mark Austin of Paris Crossing; seven sisters, Irene Barger of Nabb, Jane Burris of Riverside, Ca., Pat Fletcher of Blocher, Ada Bear of Madison, Carolyn Sipe of Scottsburg, Robin Smith of Nacogdoches, Tx., and Judy Hiler of Deputy; a grandson; and a step-grandson. The funeral was conducted on Friday, Jan. 7, at the Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home in Madison. Dr. Clyde T. Angel officiated. Burial was in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison following a graveside flag presentation. Memorial contributions may be arranged through the staff of the funeral home to benefit Hospice of Louisville.

ROGER PACKWOOD, 73, Campbellsburg, died on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Clark Memorial hospital in Jeffersonville. He was an Austin native and a retired barber. Survivors include his widow, the former Jewel McDonald; two sons, Ronald Christie of Sylmar, Ca., and Clive Christie of Beverly Hills, Ca.; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. The remains were cremated. A graveside service will be planned at a later date at Austin Cemetery. The staff of the Buchanan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MARY HIGDON PULLIAM, 88, Union City, Ca., died at River Valley Living Center in Madison on Saturday, Jan. 1. A retired civil servant, she was died on Sunday, Jan. 2, at Scott Memorial Hospital. Born in Hazard, Ky., he was a World War II veteran. Survivors include two stepsons, Guy Stone Jr. of Austin and Bill Stone of New Albany. A graveside service was conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Spurgeon Cemetery near Austin. The Rev. David Simpson officiated. The staff of the Buchanan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

GLORIA JEAN BAYES, 60, Scottsburg, died Saturday, Jan. 1, at Scott Villa Living Center in Scottsburg, where he had been residing. Born in Clark County, he was a member of the Henryville United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Rural Membership Water Company in Henryville. He was also a former truck driver and school bus driver for West Clark Community Schools. He served many years as the time keeper for the Henryville Hornets basketball team. Survivors include a sister, Flora M. Beswick of Seymour; Alberta Senn of Crothersville, a niece who cared for him; and several other nieces and nephews. The funeral was conducted at the church on Monday, Jan. 3. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Henryville. Memorial contributions may be arranged through the staff of Pike Funeral Service in Henryville to benefit the church.

DONELLA E. TAYLOR FORD, 74, formerly of New Albany, died on Thursday, Dec. 30 [1999], at Memorial Hospital in Seymour. A homemaker, she was a member of the First Christian Church of Columbus. Survivors include a son, Don Hacker of Crothersville; and two sisters, Ruth Isenhower of Arasas, Tx., and Betty Darity of Dallas, Tx. The funeral was conducted at the Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville on Monday, Jan. 3. Burial was in Uniontown Cemetery.

ROBERT "BOBBY" FLEENOR, 38, French Lick, born in Seymour and attended West Baden Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, Robert Fleenor of Michigan and Stella and Charles Moffatt of West Baden; a brother, Marion Tilford of Seymour; a sister, Roberta Caudill of Freetown; his aunts, Mary Tilford of Paris Crossing and Elizabeth Robbins of French Lick; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was conducted on Friday, Dec. 31 [1999], at White's Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kelly Reed officiated. Burial was in White's Chapel Cemetery. IDA PLASTER HAGGADONE, 88, Crothersville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. The Lexington, Ky., native was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Harrison Sizemore; a daughter, Dottie Spencer of Scottsburg; a step-daughter, Kathy Gibbins of Crothersville; two brothers, Herbert Vires and Hubert Vires, both of Austin; three sisters, Irene White and Faye Smith, both of Austin, and Patsy DeHart of Oldtown, Fl. Services will be conducted (today) Saturday at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Hedgepeth officiating. Burial will be in the New Providence Cemetery near Austin.
