JIM "SLIM" HALL, 54, Scottsburg, died on Tuesday, June 4, at Scott Memorial Hospital. A Scottsburg native and lifelong resident, he had owned and operated Jim’s Auto Service Center in Scottsburg for 25 years before retiring. He was also an employee of Scott County School District 2 for 23 years. Memberships included Scottsburg First Christian Church and Scottsburgh Lodge 572, F&AM. Survivors include his widow, the former Linda K. Riley; a son, Jeffery Dean of Tucson, Az.; four daughters, Monica R. Hall, Kim Charles, Missy Campbell and Belinda Woodson, all of Scottsburg; a brother, Ronald K. Baker of St. Cloud, Fl.; a sister, Delores A. Hall of St. Cloud; and a grandson. A Masonic memorial service was conducted at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 7, at the Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg. Visitation was held there from 4 to 8 p.m. that evening. The funeral will be conducted at the funeral home at 11 a.m. today (Saturday). Bro. Phil LaMaster will officiate. Burial will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.

OPAL E. SMITH, 82, Austin, died on Wednesday, June 5, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg. A retired employee of the old U.S. Shoe Corporation in Crothersville, she was a native of Perry County, Ky., and a member of the Rural Street Free Pentecostal Holiness Church in Austin. Survivors include a son, Jesse Smith of Scottsburg; five daughters, Thelma McIntosh, Carolyn Stevens, Lona White, Mattie Hines and Alice Coulter, all of Austin; a brother, Earl Everidge of Florida; three sisters, Elizabeth Shaddle and Lorane Taylor, both of Vincennes, and Mae Karobench of Cincinnati, Ohio; 49 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted on Friday, June 7, at her church. The Rev. Nicky Spicer officiated. Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The staff of the Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin was in charge of arrangements.

JULIUS FLEENOR, 64, Scottsburg, died on Monday, June 3, at his home. He was born near Little York and lived in the area all of his life. He retired from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus after 34 years of service. Memberships included Mt. Hebron Christian Church and York Lodge 512, F&AM, in Little York. Survivors include his widow, the former Thelma J. Napier; a son, Luther Fleenor of Little York; two daughters, Kathy Cheatham of Little York and Mary Fleenor of Scottsburg; two sisters, Irene Williams of Vero Beach, Fl., and Sue Baldwin of Jeffersonville; and six grandchildren. The funeral was conducted on Thursday, June 6, at his church. Bro. Rodney Sweeney and Bro. Greg Shuler officiated. Cremation was requested and burial was in New Hope Cemetery near Little York.

WILLARD CHANDLER, 67, Scottsburg, died on Monday, June 3, at Hanover Nursing Home, where he had been residing. A native of Clay County, Ky., he was a retired employee of Cummins Engine Company of Columbus. Survivors include his widow, the former Laura Burch; four sons, Frank Chandler of Sellersburg, Wayne Chandler of Polk City, Fl., and Tony Hale and Allen W. Chandler, both of Scottsburg; a daughter, Sheila Chandler of Lakeland, Fl.; a brother, Taylor Chandler of Salem; two sisters, Malvery Burns of Oneida, Ky., and Mary Davidson of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted on Thursday, June 6, at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin. The Rev. Bobby Spicer officiated. Burial was in Scottsburg Cemetery.

PAUL HOWARD, 66, Campbellsburg, died on Monday, June 3, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky. A retired farmer and truck driver, he was born in Harlan County, Ky., and had lived most of his life in Southern Indiana. He was a member of New Frankfort Pentecostal Church near Austin and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his widow, the former Charlotte M. Singer; two sons, David Howard and Stephen Howard, both of Campbellsburg; two daughters, Barbara Rainey of French Lick and Crystal Howard of Campbellsburg; a brother, Luke Howard of Delaware City, De.; a sister, Betty Ruth Joyal of Tell City; and four grandchildren. The funeral was conducted on Friday, June 7, at the New Frankfort Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Marvin W. McIntosh officiated. Burial was in Claysville Cemetery near Campbellsburg. JOHN E. EMLY, 64, Crothersville, died on Sunday, June 2, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born in Scott County, he was a farmer and retired employee of Baxter Lumber Company in Deputy. He was a member of Cana United Methodist Church. Survivors include his father, Albert Emly; a brother, Hubert Emly; a sister, Ruth Kelley of Scottsburg; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was conducted on Wednesday, June 5, at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville. Burial was in Scottsburg Cemetery. PAMELA DIANA THOMAS, 46, Scottsburg, died on Sunday, June 2, at her home. A wife and mother, she was a Scottsburg native and a leader and member at Vienna Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Dennis R. Thomas; a son, Devin R. Thomas of Scottsburg; a daughter, Lindsey N. Thomas of Scottsburg; her father and stepmother, Edward and Daisy Baker of Scottsburg; her mother and stepfather, Ruby Baker-Ritter and Paul Ritter of Scottsburg; and two sisters, Kim Lesnet and Robin Matthews, both of Scottsburg. The funeral was conducted on Wednesday, June 5, at Vienna Baptist Church. The Rev. Jay Blythe officiated. Burial was in Scottsburg Cemetery. CHARLES VanCAMPEN, 85, Scottsburg, died on Saturday, June 1, at Scott Memorial Hospital. He was a Wabash native and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Retired from Morgan Foods Inc. in Austin, he was a charter member of the Jennings Township Volunteer Fire Department in Austin, and a member of the Austin Christian Church. Survivors include his widow, Vyolet A. Trowbridge-VanCampen; two daughters, Nancy L. Gray of Scottsburg and Sally A. Patton of Seymour; a stepson, Ronald C. Trowbridge of Versailles; a stepdaughter, Janet Faith Wheat of Scottsburg; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted on Tuesday, June 4, at the Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg. Pastor Donald W. Allen officiated. Burial was in Scottsburg Cemetery. CLYDE F. COLLINGS, 90, Scottsburg, died on Friday, May 31. Born in Underwood, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Medical Corps. He was a retired carpenter, truck driver and taxi driver and had also operated an upholstery shop and a tool repair and maintenance shop. His memberships included the Scottsburg First Presbyterian Church and Carpenters Union, and he was a life member of Scott County Post 6582, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his widow, the former Margaret Phillips; two sons, David Collings of Scottsburg and Harold Collings of Clear Springs; a brother, Edward Collings of Sycamore, Il.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted on Monday, June 3, at the Stewart Funeral Home in Scottsburg. The Rev. Cloyce Burcham officiated. Burial was in Scottsburg Cemetery.

JOYCE MARIE BAIRD, 70, New Albany, died at Green Valley Care Center there on Friday, May 31. She was a Clark County native. Survivors include two sons, Stephen Baird of Marysville and Randall Baird of Ellenton, Fl.; four brothers, Harry Stricker and Clarence Stricker, both of Marysville, Roy Stricker of Charlestown and Jesse Stricker of Scottsburg; three sisters, Janet Lynch of Los Angeles, Ca., Grace Huckleberry of Port Angeles, Wa., and Freida Chesser of Scottsburg; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted on Monday, June 3, at the Grayson New Washington Funeral Home. The Reb. Ray Bowyer officiated. Burial was in New Market Cemetery in Marysville.

IDA MAE COLE-HALL, 74, Waco, Ky., died on Friday, May 31, at the Pattie A. Clay Hospital in Richmond, Ky. Formerly of Scottsburg, she was born in Estill County, Ky. She has resided in Waco since leaving this area and was a homemaker and a member of Christian Pilgrim Church in Austin. Survivors include her husband, Jesse T. Hall; 11 sons, Jesse F. Hall, Larry Cole and David T. Cole, all of Scottsburg, Wendell R. Cole, Danny G. Cole, Gary D. Cole and Terry L. Cole, all of Lexington, Donnie Cole and Jerry W. Cole, both of Austin, Doll G. Cole of Waco and Ricky G. Cole of Crothersville; four daughters, Mildred K. Brown, Sharon F. Morris and Donna Fox, all of Austin; two stepsons, Kevin Hall of Richmond, Ky., and Steve Hall of Sharpsburg, Ky.; two step-daughters, Wavalene McKinney of Richmond and Bonnie Hall of Sharpsburg; two brothers, Glenn Hall and Linville Hall, both of Richmond; two sisters, Magalene Tipton and Janet S. RUBY MAY HILL, 78, Ruston, La., died on Wednesday, May 29, at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in Ruston. She was born in Shelbyville, Ky., and had formerly lived in Salem and Winter Haven, Fl. She was a retired employee of the old Smith Cabinet Company and a member of Inman Park Baptist Church in Winter Haven. Survivors include a son, Kenneth W. Hill of Enon, Ohio; a daughter, Carla Weaver of Ruston; a brother, Everett Carey of Orleans; a sister, Beatrice Tipps of Wilson, N.C.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted on Monday, June 3, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem. The staff of Weathers Funeral Home in Salem was in charge of local arrangements.

DANNY PALMER, 55, Austin, died on Monday, May 27, at Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Ky. Born in Lee County, Ky., he was an electrician and owner of a general store in Kentucky. He also auctioneered as a hobby. Survivors include his widow, the former Janice Gay Snowden; a son, Timothy Daniel Palmer of Madison; a daughter, Kimberly Joy Amrhein of Scottsburg; a brother, Michael Palmer of Beattyville, Ky.; three sisters, Janice Davidson and Mary Jo Fugate, both of Beattyville, and Gloria Davidson of Austin; and four grandchildren. The funeral was held on Thursday, May 30, at the Newnam Funeral Home Chapel in Beattyville. The Rev. Herman Newton officiated. Burial was in St. Helens Cemetery in St. Helens, Ky.

EMMA FUSSNECKER, 71, Lexington, died Monday, June 3, at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. She was a housewife. Survivors include two sons, George S. Fussnecker of Georgetown, and Carl Collett of Chelsea; two step-daughters, Connie Burtis of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Gigi Gardner of Richmond, Ky.; two daughters, Lisa Marie Fussnecker of Chelsea, and Betty L. Arnoldy of Lawrenceburg; four brothers, Delmas Davidson of Otisco, Ed Davidson of Charlestown, Roscoe Davidson of New Washington, and James Davidson of Charlestown; and 15 grandchildren. Services were conducted Wednesday, June 5, at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery in New Washington.

FORREST R. TROXEL, 81, Fredericksburg, died Sunday, June 2, at his home. He was a native of Oolitic, and a retired power plant operator from I.C.I. America in Charlestown, an Army Veteran of World War II, and a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in New Albany. Survivors include a son, Richard Cook of Fredericksburg; a daughter, Melinda “Mindy” Floyd of South Boston; a brother, Porter Troxel of Mitchell; and a sister, Ruth Tolleiver of Oolitic; and one grandchild. CARL SIPES, 81, Pekin, died Sunday, June 2, at his residence. A native of Lee County, Ky., he was a former employee of the Ford Motor Company, and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, a member of the South Jefferson Baptist Church, the Jefferson County Sheriffs Mounted Posse, and VFW Post No. 3636. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Monroe Sipes; a son, Tommy Sipes, two daughters, Darlene Wolfe and Carol Boone; a sister, Gladys Pack; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Thursday, June 6, at the Hardy Valley Chapel of the W.G. Hardy Funeral Home in Louisville, with burial in the Bethany Cemetery. BARBARA J. (HOWARD) BAKER, 51, Franklin, died Monday, June 3, at her residence. She was a resident of Franklin and a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Clute of Pekin, and Amy Baker of New Albany; two brothers, Gary Howard of Whiteland, and David Howard of Jeffersonville; a sister, Rhonda Hugues of Grays Lake, Ill; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. MARGARET G. EISERT, 85, Lanesville, died Monday, June 3, at her home near Lanesville. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, and a retired shipping worker at M. Fine & Co. in New Albany. Services were conducted Wednesday, June 5, at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, with burial in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lanesville. JASON MICAH JONES, 21, New Albany, died Sunday, June 2, in New Albany following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a native of New Albany, and a member of Laborer’s International Union of North America Local No. 795 in New Albany, and both Little Flock Baptist Church in Jeffersonville and the Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany. He was a former winner of the Toughman Contest in Louisville. Survivors include his father, the Rev. Rocco Jones of New Albany; his mother, Dana L. Ott of New Albany; five brothers, Jon Christian Jones of Louisville, Joshua Quincy Jones of Louisville, Jacob Anthony Jones of New Albany, Joseph Manuel Jones of Bowling Green, Ky., and Shawn Christopher Jones of New Albany; three sister, Savanna Lynn Jones of New Albany, Erica Lynn Jones of Louisville, and Sharra Evette Jones of Louisville; his grandparents, Eugene and Sherrill Ott of Georgetown and Joseph B. and Thelma Jones of Texas; an uncle, Darrell Ott of Georgetown; and aunt, Paula Jones of Louisville. JOSEPH WAYNE McKINLEY, 62, Pekin, died Friday, May 31, at his residence. Survivors include his mother, Harriett McKinley; his son, Wade McKinley; and daughters, Amanda McKinley and April Cornett. There were no services. Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home handled arrangements.

THOMAS A. PHIELER, 71, Corydon, died Tuesday, June 4, at the Frazier Rehab Center in Louisville. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Epiphany Lutheran Church in New Salisbury. He served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, the former Joan Cook; two sons, Mark T. Phieler of Chaska, Minn., and Steven T. Phieler of New Salisbury; two brothers, , William Phieler of New Harmony, and Edmund Phieler of Lanesville. Services were conducted Friday, June 7, at the Epiphany Lutheran Church in New Salisbury, with burial in the St. John’s Cemetery in Lanesville. WILLIAM LESTER CUMMINS, 89, Palmyra, died Thursday, June 6, at the Indian Creek Health Center in Corydon. A native of Rowland, Ky., he was a retired farmer. Survivors include one son, William Denver Cummins of Corydon; one daughter, Lillian Price of Greencastle; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. CHARLOTTE O. BERRY, 65, Lanesville, formerly of Louisville, died Thursday, June 6, at the Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was the former Charlotte Owen, a retired secretary for Stifel-Nicolaus Inc., was instrumental in organizing national offices in Louisville for The Dream Factory and was a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a niece and nephew. Services were conducted Monday, June 10, at the O.D. White & Sons Funeral Home in Louisville, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. HUNTER AND JAYDA MARKS, New Albany, twin infant children of Trevor and Amanda (Budd) Marks, died Friday, June 7, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville. LORNA MAE WELSH, 76, Clarksville, died Saturday, June 8, at the Sellersburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Sellersburg. A native of Louisville, she was a longtime employee of Greentree Skateland in Clarksville, and a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Survivors include six daughters, Rose Marie Shipley of Louisville, Theresa Mayberry of Falmouth, Mass., Judith Boyce of Columbia, S.C., Jude Welsh of Charlestown, Lorna new of Lanesville, Rita Pagan of Sofia, Bulgaria; four sons, Timothy Welsh of New Albany, Thomas Welsh of Charlestown, Matthew Welsh of Jeffersonville, and Anthony Welsh of Jeffersonville; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Wednesday, June 12, at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with burial in the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery. Chapman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ELNORA YOCHUM, 96, Lanesville, died Sunday, June 9, at the Indian Creek Convalescent Center in Corydon. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville, St. Mary’s Seniors and the Ladies Quilters. She was also a member of the St. Anne’s Society. Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Brengman of Lanesville; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. JAMES HAROLD TUNGATE SR., 82 82, Charlestown, died Tuesday, June 4, at the his home. He was a native of Louisville, and an Army Veteran of World War II, and a retired body man for the old Louisville Motors, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlestown. Survivors include two sons, Richard T. Tungate of Charlestown, and James H. Tungate Jr., of Sellersburg; a sister, Lillian Thomas of Lexington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Thursday, June 6, at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in the Charlestown Cemetery.

SHIRLEY K. McMAHON, 76, Jeffersonville, died Wednesday, June 5, at Sellersburg Health Care in Sellersburg. She is survived by three sons, Charles E., Phillip E. and Daniel J. McMahon; a daughter, Patricia L. Reel; a brother, Glen Brovey; a sister, Bernice David; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Friday, May 7, at the Coots Funeral Home, with cremation to follow. Expressions of sympathy should go to the American Cancer Society.

JANE HANGER EHRINGER, 85, Sellersburg, died Wednesday, June 5, in Charlestown. She was a native of Sellersburg, and a former teller for the Sellersburg State Bank, a homemaker, a member of the MEUM et TEUM Club, served as a board member and volunteer at the old Southern Indiana Rehab Center in Clarksville, was a member of the Sellersburg United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years, and was a member of the Hazel Hanger Circle of the church. Survivors include a son, David W. Ehringer of Sellersburg; a daughter, Sara J. Hauselman of Sellersburg; two nieces; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Friday, June 7, at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, with burial in the Sellersburg Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy should go to Hospice of Southern Indiana.

H. JOSEPH OWENS, 76, Sellersburg, died Saturday, June 1, at the Sellersburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a graduate of New Albany High School, and received his bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Louisville School of Music. A talented trombonists, he taught in the New Albany Floyd County school system, and was a band director at Scottsburg High School for five years and was active in the Louisville Orchestra. He taught music at the University of Nebraska and Indiana State University, and completed his masters in music at ISU and was active in the Terre Haute Symphony. He was also a consultant and designer for the Conn Instrument Company for many years. Following his retirement from ISU he pursued a career as a real estate broker and licensed certified real estate appraiser. He owned and operated Owens Appraisal Service in Terre Haute for more than 15 years, before returning to southern Indiana in 1995. Survivors include his wife, the former Virginia Dieckmann Campbell; two daughters, Ann R. Owens of St. Louis, Mo., and Christie L. Owens Balsam of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Thomas J. Owens of Columbia, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Carla Lewis of Terre Haute; and seven grandchildren. The body was cremated. Kraft Funeral Home in New Albany was in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, at the Kraft Chapel, located at 2776 Charlestown Road in New Albany, with the time pending. R.B. SHEPARD, 85, Charlestown, died Friday, June 7, at his home. She was the former R.B. Allbert, a native of Dickson, Tenn., and a member of the Blazing Star Order of the Eastern Star No. 597. Survivors include two nephews and a niece. Services were conducted Monday, June 10, at the Grayson Funeral Home, with burial in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.

FLORENCE MARIE LEWIS, 90, Charlestown, died Sunday, June 9, at the Medical Center of Southern Indiana. A housewife, she was a native of Jefferson City, Mo., and a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Davide Lewis and Joseph Lewis, both of Charlestown; four daughters, Deanna Brown and Delores Schnell, both of Charlestown, Sue Lewis of Jeffersonville, and Emmilia Lewis of Clarksville; three brothers, Clifford Emry and Benjamin Emry, both of Yoncalla, Oregon, Lloyd Emry of Drain, Oregon; two sisters, Lola Rodgers of Yoncalla, Oregon, and Ruby Haacke of Stephensville, Montana; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Wednesday, June 12, at the Grayson New Washington Funeral Home, with burial in the Owen Creek Cemetery.

JOHN W. SWINNEY, 84, Jeffersonville, died Thursday, June 6, at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. He was a native of Kirksmanville, Ky., retired from the U.S. Census Bureau, a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, a member of the American Legion Post Jeffersonville, the Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge No. 340, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the National Rifle Association, the Farm Bureau, Ky., and the AARP and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Swinney of Jeffersonville; two sons, John Swinney Jr., of Charlestown, and Donald “Butch” Swinney of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Pamela Sue Shockley of Carmel; a brother, Ralph Swinney of Belton, Ky., and five grandchildren. Services were conducted Monday, June 10, at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, with burial in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

THOMAS BENJAMIN EDWARDS, 35, Sellersburg, died Thursday, June 5, in Louisville. Services were conducted Saturday, June 8, at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, with burial on Sunday, June 9, in the Evarts (Ky.) Memorial Gardens.

HUBERT L. TERRY, 73, Salem, died Sunday, June 2, at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem. A native of Ben Hur, Va., and formerly of Orleans, he was a retired employee of the old Carpenter Body Works in Mitchell. Survivors include three sons, Wilburn L. Terry of Gainesville, Fla., Leonard Terry of Freeport, Fla., and Roger Terry of Naples, Fla.; one daughter, Peggy Sue Sifers of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Wednesday, June 5, at the Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem, with burial in the Talbott Cemetery in Mitchell.

CHERYL L. BECK, 55, Salem, died Wednesday, June 5, at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem. She was a native of Batesville, and a former computer analyst for PNC Bank in Pittsburg. A Methodist, she was a former Big Sister in the Indianapolis area. Survivors include a brother, Allan D. Beck of North Carolina; three sisters, Marsha Beck of Birdseye, Amy Humphrey and Alana Williams, both of Salem; seven nieces, five nephews; six great-nieces and one great-nephew. Services were conducted Saturday, June 8, at the Weathers Funeral Home, with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery.

JACK BRYANT, 64, Salem, died Monday, June 3, at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem. He was a member of the West Point United Methodist Church near Salem, and graduated in 1956 from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. He was the state high school tennis champion in singles for two years in a row, was a pilot and a member of The Washington County Pilots Association, was a member of the board of trustees of the Franklin Church and Cemetery and was active in numerous street rod associations. He was a retired employee of the Cummins Engine Company in Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Bonita (Naugle) Bryant; a daughter, Shelley Stingel of Salem; two sons, Eric Bryant and Michael Bryant, both of Salem; a brother, Joe Bryant of California; two sisters, Dottie Rae Chavez and Janet Peterson, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and four grandchildren. Services were conducted Thursday, June 6, at the Dawalt Funeral Home, with burial in the Franklin Cemetery in Salem.

EVERETT L. RIBELIN, 94, Salem, died Tuesday, June 4, at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem. He was a member of the old Walnut Ridge Church in Salem, and a member of the Salem Masonic Lodge No. 21 F & A.M., and The Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He was a retired employee of the old Sun Realty Company in Indianapolis. Survivors include his wife, Alberta A. (Gordon) Ribelin; three nephews and a niece. Services were conducted Friday, June 7, at the Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem, with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy should go to the Hoosier Uplands Hospice.

CHARLES F. HAZELWOOD, 71, Hardinsburg, died Tuesday, June 2, at the Washington County Memorial Hospital. Services were conducted Friday, June 7, at the McAdams Mortuary in Paoli.

LOUSIE SHOUP, 86, Salem, died Thursday, June 6, at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem. A native of Glasgow, Ky., she was a retired bookkeeper and a Jehovah’s Witness. Survivors include her husband, Dale Shoup of Salem; a son, Dennis Shoup of Bloomington; a daughter, Diana Shoup of Jeffersonville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15, at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall in Salem.

HAZEL B. (PHILLIPS) RICKETTS, 79, Salem, died Saturday, June 8. Services were conducted Tuesday, June 11, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with burial in the Vevay Cemetery.
