She was a retired school teacher from the Jefferson County School System and received her masters in education from the University of Louisville. ELIZABETH ANN "BETTY" WOLFE, 82, Louisville, formerly of New Albany, died Wednesday, October 29, at the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville. She was a native of New Albany, the former Elizabeth Ann Denny, and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Nelson A. Wolfe Jr. of Louisville and Dr. Thomas A. Wolfe of Milwaukee, Wi.; two daughters, Kathleen Sisk Priddy of Louisville and Leslie A. Wolfe of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Merle Denny of Houston, Texas and Jerry Denny of Louisville; two sisters, Bonnie Ellenbrand of Floyds Knobs and Judy Jagielski of Virginia; and nine grandchildren. A native of Henderson, Kentucky, he was retired from the Child Craft Industries in Salem. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Full Gospel Church in New Salisbury. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Lone Stone; four sons, Garry Stone of Salem, Danny Stone of Scottsburg, David Stone of Pekin and Billy Stone of New Salisbury; two daughters, Sharron Campbell of Salem and Tracy Byrd of Milltown; a brother, John Stone of New Salisbury; four sisters, Sibbie Dukes and Magdalene McCauley, both of Henderson, Kentucky, Dorothy Hagan of Greenfield, and Nellie Harpe of Paducah, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 2, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra with burial in Central Barren Cemetery. JAMES M. LYNCH, 70, New Albany, died Thursday, October 30, at Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany. He was a native of Crawford County and retired from Pliable Veneers Incorporated in New Albany. Survivors include his wife, Jane Williams Lynch; two sons, Dennis Lynch of New Salisbury and Vincent Lynch of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Shelia Taylor of New Albany and Linda Moore of Corydon; two sisters, Brittie Kilroy of Kalamazoo, Mi. and Ida Klein of New Albany; two brothers, Lee Lynch of Florida and Mike Dell of Corydon; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. HOGAN, 56, Georgetown, died Saturday, November 1, at his home. He was the maintenance director for St. Vincent de Paul in Louisville, a Vietnam veteran and a member of Georgetown Christian Church. DAVID ALLEN HEATH, 41, Marysville, died Wednesday, October 29. He was a native of Clark County, a member of Blue Lick Christian Church and a woodworker at Hi-Tech Veneer in Charlestown. Survivors include his wife, Angela Zollman Heath; two sons, Joshua and Cody Heath; his mother and stepfather, Opal and Matt Thomas of Henryville; a sister, Cindi White of Memphis; a stepsister, Breck Thomas; three nieces, Erica, Adrienne and Melissa White; and several other family and friends. Raisor of Charlestown, died Thursday, October 30. DAVIDSON, 83, Charlestown, died Thursday, October 30, at Clark Memorial Hospital. She was the former Irene Blockson, a native of Spencer County, Kentucky, a factory worker and a member of North Charlestown Church of God. Survivors include two daughters, Norma Gibson of Jeffersonville and Janice Sanders of Otisco; a sister, Mabel Bennett of Bowling Green, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. JULIAN WAYNE RITTER, 51, formerly of Charlestown, died Friday, October 31, in Gulfport, Ms. He was an independent truck driver, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, the former Virginia Mae Green; three sons, Charles W., Billy R. and Julian W. Ritter Jr.; two stepchildren, Jesse and Jennifer Huckby; his mother, Vivian C. Crouch; three brothers, Roger and Barry Ritter and David Crouch; two sisters, Lorie Koellner and Deborah Trisler; his grandmother, Lee Ora May; and several nieces and nephews. GRACE JUANITA SIEDL, 87, New Albany, died Tuesday, October 28, at Robert E. Lee Retirement Home. She was a native of Pekin and a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Alice C. Hopper of Salem; four stepchildren; four sisters, Dell Montgomery, Rose Stout, Patricia Boling and Jo Hendricks, all of Salem; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. CHANDLER, 38, Campbellsburg, died Monday, October 27, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was a native of Miami, Florida, and a former cook. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Chandler of Salem; two sons, Christopher Chandler and Robert Chandler, both of Salem; his father, Clyde L. Chandler of Etowah, North Carolina; his mother, Giralda Borges of Panama City, Florida; five sisters, Carol Chandler of Winter Park, Florida, Dorothy Naus of Key West, Florida, Elizabeth Harlan of Streator, Illinois, Genevieve Hunsinger of Pennsylvania, and Joanna Fleitas of Homestead, Florida; and a brother, Bill Borges of Panama City, Florida. BOWSMAN, 81, Salem, died Saturday, November 1, at Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem. She was the former Marjorie O. Burger. Survivors include four sons, Robert E. Bowsman of Corydon and Larry J., Paul A. and Leonard E. Bowsman, all of Salem; two daughters, Mary Lou Siefker of Seymour and Barbara J. Expressions of sympathy should go to First Baptist Church of Salem. MARVIN EUGENE SNELL, 50, Madison, died on Wednesday, October 29, at King’s Daughters Hospital there. He was born in Madison and lived there all of his life. He co-owned Snell’s Backhoe since 1983 with his brother and was a former employee of Jay’s Supermarket, the old Meese Manufacturing Inc., General Electric in Louisville, Ky., and Cummins Engine Company. Memberships included First Assembly of God and Sons of the American Legion, Jefferson Post 9, both in Madison. He was also a past president of the Madison Jaycees and served in the Indiana National Guard for several years. Survivors include two sons, James Michael Snell of Milton, Ky., and Joseph Ryan Snell of Madison; a daughter, Cathy Jo Abbott of Milton; his parents, Floyd M. Jr. and Jo Ella Jones Snell of Madison; a brother, Roger Snell of Hanover; two sisters, Rose Ella Everhart of Scottsburg and Jacklyn Davis of Milton; a grandson; and a close friend who cared for him, Linda Myers of Madison. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today (Saturday) at Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home in Madison. Pastor Steve Perry will officiate. Visitation was observed at the funeral home on Friday, October 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. and is planned today from 9 a.m. until the service. She was born in Scottsburg and was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. She was a graduate of Hanover High School and was an active volunteer at King’s Daughters Hospital in Madison. Survivors include her parents, Doyle and Cindy Cloud of Madison; a sister, Kimberly Rewis of Buford, Ga.; and her grandparents, Mary Cloud of Lexington and Leonard and Lucy Moore of Hanover. MOENTER, 86, Batesville, died on Wednesday, October 22, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg, where she had been residing. Born in Batesville, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and its ladies’ auxiliary. Survivors include a son, Gary Moenter of Scottsburg; two daughters, Gayla Lecher of Greensburg and Ava Moenter of San Francisco, Ca.; a brother, Malcom “Cap” Heidt of Batesville; and five grandchildren. An Owsley County, Ky., native, she had formerly lived in Austin and Scottsburg before moving to Madison in 1997. She was a former employee of the old U.S. Shoe Corporation in Crothersville, Morgan Foods Inc. in Austin and WAVE-TV in Louisville, Ky. Memberships included Chelsea Church of God. Survivors include two sons, William J. Leedy of Madison and Rodrick Leedy of Seymour; three daughters, Debra S. Sember and Wanda Cook, both of Madison, and Pamela J. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crothersville. "SHORTY" HULS, 90, Crothersville, died on Saturday, October 25, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown, where he had briefly resided. A retired employee of the old American Can Company in Austin, he worked there for 32 years, retiring in 1970. He was a native of Crothersville and a member of the First Baptist Church of Crothersville. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Huls of White House, Tn., and Jim Huls of Crothersville; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. LEONARD "JUNIOR" STROUD, 71, Austin, died on Wednesday, October 22, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. He was originally from English and a retired employee of Lear Siegler. Survivors include his widow, the former Edna Ruth Hodge; five sons, Lonnie Stroud, Tim Stroud, Leonard Stroud, David Stroud and Charles Stroud; seven daughters, Patricia Stroud, Lisa Organ, Paula Smith, Teresa Martin, Lil Marsh, Eunice Campbell and Christina Alcorn; a brother, John Stroud; 31 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Memberships also included American Legion Post 105 in Henryville and the Moose Lodge in Sellersburg, Farm Bureau Co-op and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Salem. He was a charter member of the Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Department in Henryville. He had worked in construction and as a farmer. Survivors include his widow, the former Martha Seipp Payne; two sons, Jack D. Mull of Jeffersonville and Dale A. Mull of Salem; three daughters, Treena Wiseman of New Albany and Jerry Lee Munk and Lodema Dillon, both of Salem; a stepdaughter, Rhonda Jean of Salem; three brothers, Emmett Mull and Ferris Mull, both of Henryville, and Boyd Mull of Columbus; three sisters, Beulah Mae Ridenour of Florida, Janice Brown of Mooresville and Bonita Chastain of Scipio; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
