Donald R. Judd, 45, of 6047 Washington Street Monterey, IN, passed away at 3:50 AM Friday, August 24, 2007 at Hickory Creek in Winamac, IN.
He was born August 27, 1961 in Burbank, IL to Stanley and Valena Seiber Judd. His parents preceed him in death.
Donald loved fishing, the Cubs and spending time outdoors. He came to Monterey 13 years ago from Chicago. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

HELEN V. PARMAN
August 23, 2007
Helen Vera Parman, 90, of 2550 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH, passed away at 1:45 PM Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH.
She was born June 26, 1917, in Belleville, KS to Arthur and Avis Blackwood Snapp.
Helen was a resident of the Canton Christian Home in Canton, OH for the past 14 months. She had moved there from Medaryville, IN. Her death followed a long illness. Helen was the loving wife of Rev. Marlin Wendell Parman who preceeded her in death on October 22, 1998. Helen performed many duties within the Christian Church such as Sunday School Teacher and Choir Director along with always being the minister's wife. Helen served the Lord for many years throughout the United States and after retirement decided to come back to Medaryville, a community that she and her husband had once served. They had made many friends throughout their years of services but the Medaryville Christian Church and its members had held a special place in their hearts.

Friends may call from 3-7 PM EDT Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville, IN, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery in Burnettsville, IN.
Memorials may be given to the Medaryville Christian Church.

CLARA M. CARMANY
August 18, 2007
Clara M. Carmany, 87, of 515 East 13th Street, Winamac, IN, passed away at 9:30 PM Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Hickory Creek @ Winamac in Winamac, IN.
She was born September 4, 1919, in Oxford, IN, to William and Eliza Martin Carmany.
Clara came to Winamac in 1935. She had worked at Gumz Farms and retired as a machine operator at Singer Controls in Winamac in 1985.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM EDT Wednesday, August 22, 2007, in Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Pastor Denny Wilson officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Hickory Creek Activities Fund.

CHARLES A. ZEHNER
August 17, 2007
Charles Anthony "Charlie" Zehner, 72, of 6204 N 400 E, Monterey, IN, passed away at 11:58 AM Friday, August 17, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette, IN.
He was born June 25, 1935, in Monterey, IN, to Anthony and Claire Keitzer Zehner. He married Margaret Rose Smith on October 29,1955 in Monterey, IN. Margaret survives.
Charlie was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Monterey,IN and the Knights of Columbus. He was a graduate of Monterey High School in 1953. He graduated from South Bend College of Commerce on February 25, 1955. He married Margaret Rose Smith on October 29, 1955 in St. Anne's Parish in Monterey, IN. He served in the US Army from 1958-1960. He served in Korea for 9 months. Charlie worked for Standard Oil of Indiana in Indianapolis, IN from 1955 to 1967. He worked at Plymouth Tube in Winamac and Dunkirk, New York from 1968 to 1996. Charlie was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 510 from 1965 to 1967. He served as a Pulaski County Councilman, and was the Monterey representative to the CDC Board of Directors. He served on the KIRPC Board of directors for six years, and was serving on the Monterey Library Board at the time of his death. Charlie was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a little league baseball coach for many years.

He was born October 8, 1962, in Knox, IN, to Jack and Betty Gerike Wall.
He was married to Kathy Neeley for 18 years.
He was a former employee of Amoco, Whiting, IN.
He loved to hunt and race cars. He was a NASCAR fan.
He was a wonderful father.

CLARENCE EMMETT BEN SCHEFFER

Clarence Emmett "Ben" Scheffer, 75, of 2092 W 100 N, Winamac, IN, passed away at 6:15PM Monday, August 13, 2007, at the Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac, IN.
He was born January 25, 1932, in Winamac, IN, to Bernard and Flora Ruch Scheffer. He married Genevieve (Kuhn) Scheffer on December 25, 1954 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pulaski, IN.
Ben was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac and the Knights of Columbus in Monterey, IN. He was a member of the Winamac Eagles Lodge. Ben served in the Army as a signalman during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Pennsylvania, Penn Central and ConRail Railroads as a block operator. Ben was an electrical contractor in the Winamac area for 45 years. He loved fishing, gardening, playing cards and "pestering" his grandchildren. Ben especially enjoyed his early morning coffee with friends.

Lilia Faye Frain Ranus, 84, of 14456 Marine Road, Montrose, CO, formerly of Winamac, IN, passed away at 10:55 PM Friday, August 10, 2007 at her residence in Montrose, CO.
She was born October 25, 1922, in Francesville, IN, to Virgil and Alice Field Rex.
She married Frank Lynn Frain in 1938. He died Jan. 15, 1947. She then married John P. Ranus on Sept. 6, 1952, in Hessville, IN. He died April 24, 1990.
She was a former resident of Winamac(Ripley), IN, Cedar Lake, IN, New Chicago, IN, and Valparaiso, IN. She had been living in Montrose for the past 5 years.
She was a former member of the Lutheran Churches in Denham and Valparaiso, IN, and was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montrose, CO.
She retired from Anderson Company in Valparaiso, IN.
She loved to fish and make quilts and donate them to charity. She enjoyed playing the guitar and piano, traveling, and spending time and visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
