Rhonda Sue Squier

Services for Rhonda Sue Squier, 46, of 119 1/2 Seventh St., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Marocco Funeral Chapel.

She died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in her residence.

Born June 11, 1953, in Gary, she was the daughter of Daniel Sr. and Hazel M. Howard Vladetich.

Rhonda was a 1969 graduate of Logansport High School and was employed as a supervisor at T.M. Morris Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1988.

A member of New Beginnings Church, she liked to fish, enjoyed Bible studies and was interested in learning to speak Spanish.

Surviving are her mother, Hazel M. Vladetich, Logansport; two brothers, Dan Vladetich Jr., Royal Center, and Michael Vladetich, Mt. Vernon, Ill.; one sister, Lisa Palmer, Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.

Her father and one brother, Bill Howard, preceded in death.

Pastor Bruce Almy will officiate the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral chapel.

Mildred A. Oleszkewycz

PERU -- Services for Mildred A. Oleszkewycz, 41, of 5575 US 31 South, Peru, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Church of God, US 24, west of Peru.

She died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in Dukes Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. Jewell Pratt will officiate the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Robert S. ‘Bobby’ Best

DELPHI -- Services for Robert S. "Bobby" Best, 61, of 4244 N. US 421, Delphi, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Abbott Funeral Home.

He died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in his residence.

Pastor J.P. Freeman and the Rev. Andy Glass will officiate the services. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Robert L. Butzin

PERU -- Services for Robert L. Butzin, 77, of 10 Riggle Road, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.

He died at 3:11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2000, in Dukes Memorial Hospital.

Father Philip Hasslinger will officiate the services. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Peru.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Alice M. Spencer

FORTVILLE -- Services for Alice M. Spencer, 92, of Fortville, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home.

She died Friday, April 7, 2000, in Regency Place, Greenfield.

Born July 12, 1907, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Frank and Blanch Ponsibaker Arthur. She was married to Ralph B. Spencer, who preceded in death.

Mrs. Spencer was a homemaker.

She was a member of Fortville Christian Church, a 50-year member of Monticello Crystal Chapter O.E.S. 165, Indianapolis Assembly #90 Social Order of Beauceant, and secretary of Althea Class of Fortville Christian Church.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Ralph R. and Mabel Spencer, Fortville; one brother, William Arthur, Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Sylvia Smith and Goldie Bucks, both of Logansport; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Rev. Pat Mooney of Fortville Christian Church will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Riverview IOOF, Monticello. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. in Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home, Fortville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Lois I. Nelson

PERU -- Services for Lois I. Nelson, 75, of The United Methodist Church Home, Warren, formerly of Peru, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.

She died at 4:25 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2000, in her residence.

The Rev. Dean Fager will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Madge E. Hughes

CAMDEN -- Services for Madge E. Hughes, 83, of 357 N. Water St., Camden, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Cree Funeral Home.

She died at 1:08 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette.

Born Jan. 3, 1917, in McMinnville, Tenn., she was the daughter of George W. and Ethel Brewer Snipes. On April 1, 1939, in Delphi, she was married to Charles E. Hughes, who preceded in death on Nov. 21, 1986.

Mrs. Hughes worked as a secretary at Farm Bureau Elevator in Camden, then was a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Camden until she retired.

She was a member of Delphi Christian Church and attended Camden Methodist Church. She was also a member of Camden Community Club. She took pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed being outdoors and enjoyed flowers.

Mrs. Hughes was a 1936 graduate of Camden High School.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Ronald Walters, of rural Delphi, and Charlotte and Joe Wallace, Camden; three brothers, Tillman Snipes, Frankfort, Paul Snipes, Delphi, and Frank Snipes, Cutler; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Hankins, Lafayette, Pearl Redding, Florida, and Ruth Snyder, Lafayette; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

One brother and one sister preceded in death.

Pastor Dan Gottschalk will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Camden Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Cecil E. Hines

ROYAL CENTER -- Services for Cecil E. Hines, 79, of 8777 N. 1050 W., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home.

He died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2000, in his residence.

Born Jan. 24, 1921, in Star City, he was the son of George T. and Martha Barney Hines. On Aug. 12, 1946, in Fulton, he was married to Jessie H. MacLain, who survives.

Mr. Hines was a farmer.

He was a member of Thornhope Community Holiness Church. He lived most of his life in Royal Center.

Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cindy Hines, Royal Center; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Timothy Sparks, Peru; one brother, Joseph Hines, Burnettsville; and four grandchildren.

One son, Cecil E. Hines Jr., two daughters, Lois Jean Hines and Susan Lynn Moss, and one brother, Paul Hines, preceded in death.

The Rev. John Thompson will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery, Royal Center.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Betty Ross Long

Services for Betty Ross Long, 80, of Logansport, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Kroeger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Long died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born May 31, 1918, in Logansport, she was the daughter of William Clinton and Marvel Jackman Osborne. On June 22, 1940, in Logansport, she was married to Keith Marshal Long, who died Dec. 17, 1970.

Mrs. Long had been employed by Hildebrandt Corporation.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and Jerry Baldini, Logansport, and Tamara and Hal Brooks, Rochester; six grandchildren, Jayme Brooks, Kyle Brooks, Tony Baldini, Jennifer Curran, Angie Baldini and Brad Baldini; four great-grandchildren, Garrett and Madison Baldini, and Jacob and Joseph Curran; and several nieces and nephews.

One sister, Mildred Pullen, preceded in death.

The Rev. Donald Ruhl will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Miller’s Merry Manor Activity Fund.

Helen L. Larimer

PERU -- Services for Helen L. Larimer, 83, of 328 Boulevard, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church.

She died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at her residence.

The Rev. Philip Krupski will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.

Lt. Col. Elmer E. Griffin

CULVER -- Graveside services, with military rites, for former Culver resident Elmer "Grif" E. Griffin, 84, of 5326 Mikado Court, Cape Coral, Fla., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Monterey.

Mr. Griffin died Monday, April 5, 1999, in Coral Trace Manor Nursing Home, Cape Coral.

Born Oct. 4, 1914, in Flat River, Mo., he was the son of Dale and Susan Karr Griffin. In 1953, he was married to Sally Anne Keller, who survives. They had been married for 46 years.

Mr. Griffin was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having retired in 1959. He was a member of the American Legion.

He was a 1938 graduate of Creighton University and received a master’s degree from Purdue University.

In 1967, Mr. Griffin moved to Punta Gorda, Fla., and was a teacher at Port Charlotte High School for 10 years. He later moved to Sanibel, Fla. He had been a resident of Cape Coral for the past 13 years.

The Rev. William Schiller will officiate at the services.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to a humane society of choice.

Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James E. Meyer

PERU -- Services for James E. Meyer, 55, of 155 Maugans Road, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Charles Catholic Church.

Mr. Meyer died at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at his residence.

The Rev. Virgil Barker will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Reyburn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.

Charles A. Long

ROCHESTER -- Services for Charles A. Long, 79, of 1215 Pontiac St., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Zimmerman Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Long died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in ExtendaCare of Rochester.

The Rev. Junior Bose will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour before the services Friday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Elevator Fund.

Elaine Blackburn

PERU -- Graveside services for former Peru resident Elaine Blackburn, 77, of 2700 N. Washington St., Kokomo, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.

She died at 5:05 p.m. Monday, April 5, 1999, in Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center, Kokomo.

The Rev. Robert Edwards will officiate at the services.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday in Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

Gerald R. Ulerick

GALVESTON -- Services for Gerald R. Ulerick, 73, of 10276E 700S, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Murray Funeral Home, Galveston Chapel.

Mr. Ulerick died at 7:20 p.m. Monday, April 5, 1999, in Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center, Kokomo.

Born May 4, 1925, in Fulton County, he was the son of Frank and Edna Ulerick.mother’s maiden name unknown. On March 28, 1948, in Galveston, he was married to Alma Riothcq, who survives.

Mr. Ulerick retired in 1986 from Continental Steel of Kokomo. He also had worked at the Farm Bureau Grain Elevator in Bennetts Switch and was a farmer.

He attended Faith United Methodist Church, Kokomo.

He had a special love for his grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Gregory and Julie Ulerick, Bluffton, and Thomas and Kelly Ulerick, Walton; three brothers, Donald Ulerick, Loren Dean Ulerick and Frank Ulerick, all of Kokomo; two sisters, Pauline Riley, Kokomo, and Mary Leiter, Walton; and four grandchildren, Jason and Erica Ulerick, both of Logansport, and Joshua Ulerick , Bluffton, and Blake Ulerick, Walton.

The Rev. Evan Strong will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church.

Melinda Irene Gilbert

PERU -- Graveside services for Melinda Irene Gilbert, 46, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Peru, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.

She died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in Middle Tennessee Medical Center, Murfreesboro.

Brother Ken Polk will officiate at the services.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northside Baptist Church of Murfreesboro.
