Martha E. Sehstedt

WINAMAC -- Martha E. Sehstedt, 83, of 1340 E. Oak Drive South, died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in Pulaski Memorial Hospital.

Arrangements are pending at Frain Mortuary.

Martha E. Sehstedt

WINAMAC -- Services for Martha E. Sehstedt, 83, of 1340 E. Oak Drive South, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Sehstedt died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in Pulaski Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 12, 1916, in Chicago, she was the daughter of John and Bertha Krause Schieman. On June 17, 1933, in North Judson, she was married to Albert Frank Sehstedt, who died Nov. 24, 1977.

A farmer’s wife and homemaker, Mrs. Sehstedt also was a former superintendent, along with her husband, at the Tippecanoe River State Park.

She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.

She also was an avid bowler and a matron at the Pleasant View Rest Home.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Albert "Butch" and Linda Sehstedt, Winamac; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Harold Holbrook and Evelyn and Jake Dollahan, all of North Judson, and Nancy C. and Jerry D. Freeman, Winamac; one sister, Lydia Liedtkycq, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, Martha Freeman and Alice Kaye Sehstedt, four brothers, Edward Schieman, Paul Schieman, Emil Schieman and Albert Schieman, one sister, Bertha Bleichercq, and one great-granddaughter preceded in death.

Pastor Matthew B. Woods will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday in Frain Mortuary and one hour before the services Saturday in the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church and to a favorite charity.

Mary Elizabeth Proctor

PERU -- Services for Mary Elizabeth Proctor, 96, of 317 Blair Pike, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

She died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Peru.

Dr. E. Dean Fager will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church Choir.

Damion Zachary Leazenby

GALVESTON -- Graveside services for Damion Zachary Leazenby, infant son of Tara Leazenby, 9891E 500S, Walton, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Walton IOOF Cemetery.

Damion was stillborn at 8:06 a.m. Monday, April 5, 1999, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

There will be no visitation.

Murray Funeral Home, Galveston Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Higgens Landrus

Services for Mildred Higgens Landrus, 93, of Logansport, formerly of Fort Myers, Fla., and Danville, Ill., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Kroeger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Landrus died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 1999, in Chase Center.

Born Oct. 16, 1905, in Wabash County, she was the daughter of Charles and Bertha Engleman Thrush. She was married to Charles Higgens and then to Orville Landrus. Both preceded in death.

Mrs. Landrus attended Manchester College and Indiana University, receiving her bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana State University.

She had been a school teacher and girls basketball coach in the Danville and Hendricks County schools.

She was an avid golfer, playing until she was 92 years old.

Surviving are two half brothers, Don Thrush and Jim Thrush, both of Wabash; one half sister, Marguerite; two nephews and their wives, Dick and Dolores Cotner, near New Waverly, and Bill and Gloria Cotner, Waterbury, Conn.; one niece and her husband, Betty and Van Eller, Fishers; several additional nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Two brothers, two sisters and one half brother preceded in death.

Pastor Mary Eileen Spence will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Danville South Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Edwena K. Turner

PERU -- Services for Edwena K. Turner, 89, of Route 1, Bunker Hill, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

She died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born April 10, 1910, in Corbin, Ky., she was the daughter of Moran and Martha Kelly Olinger. On Jan. 7, 1933, she was married to Donald J. "Tub" Turner, who died April 17, 1972.

Mrs. Turner was a 1929 Peru High School graduate and received a degree in library science from Butler University in 1965.

She taught third and fourth grades at Erie Township School, Victory Elementary School and Ridgeview Elementary School. She was a librarian for the Maconaquah School Corporation for 10 years, retiring in 1978.

Mrs. Turner was a member of First Baptist Church in Peru. She also was a member of Miami County Retired Teachers Association as well as a member of the organization at the national and state levels. She was affiliated with Psi Iota Psi Sorority and Sigma Delta Pi Sorority.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph B. and Zana Turner, Brandon, Fla., and Charles F. "Fred" and Mary Ellen Turner, Logansport; four grandchildren, Tim Turner, Tiane Kipper, Bart Turner and Angela Turner; three great-grandchildren, Trevor Turner, Noah Turner and Hannah Kipper; one sister, Evelyn Evans, San Francisco, Calif.; and one brother, Bill Olinger, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Two brothers, Richard and Ray Olinger, preceded in death.

Burial will be in Rankin Cemetery, Miami County.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Peru and to Cross-Wind United Methodist Church in Logansport.

Joseph H. DuMont Jr.

GALVESTON -- Services for Joseph H. DuMont Jr., 35, of 419 N. Gretchen St., Walton, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Murray Funeral Home, Galveston Chapel.

He died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, in Kokomo.

Born Oct. 28, 1964, at Travis Air Force Base, California, he was the son of Joseph H. Sr. and Judie M. Stark DuMont.

Mr. DuMont was employed as a carpenter for 12 years, and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 615.

He was a 1983 graduate from Lewis Cass High School and a member of Kokomo Christian Fellowship Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR racing.

Surviving are his mother, of Walton; one sister and brother-in-law, Sheri and Norm Hale, Walton; and one very special niece, Angel Marie.

Preceding in death were his grandparents and his father, who died Jan. 8, 2000.

Pastors Don Litchfield and Darryl Taylor will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Walton IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph H. DuMont Sr. Christmas Children’s Fund.

Stephen L. Fellers

ROCHESTER -- A private family service for Stephen L. Fellers, 47, of 1505 Cardinal Circle, will be held in Foster & Good Funeral Home.

He died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, in Woodlawn Hospital emergency room.

The Rev. Junior Bose will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stephen L. Fellers Memorial Scholarship Fund, to be established to assist any student interested in pursuing a career in business.

PERU -- Services for Harold E. Eddings, 82, of 1007 N. Lincoln, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.

He died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington.

The Rev. Jack Hierholzer will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Sylvia Barnett, 83, a resident of McKinney House, 3933 High Street Road, died at 5:39 p.m. Sunday in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services for Sylvia Barnett, 83, of Logansport, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Rodfei Sholom Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.

She died at 5:39 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2000, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 15, 1916, in St. Louis, Mo., she was the daughter of Ben and Sarah Kelfer Rosenthal. On Feb. 3, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, she was married to Ruben Barnett, who preceded in death.

Mrs. Barnett was a homemaker and a member of the Congregation Rodfei Sholom in San Antonio.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Arnold J. "Jerry" and Leah Barnett, Logansport; three grandchildren, Debra Keen, Sheli Barnett and Nancy Hughes; and six great-grandchildren, Lyndsey, Paige, Kendra, Casey, Heidi and Austin.

Two sisters, Eva and Molly, preceded in death.

Rabbi Arnold Scheinberg will officiate the services.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Mission Center in Logansport.

Kroeger Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

She died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2000, in Dukes Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. J. Robert Clark will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Peoria Cemetery in Miami County.

Margaret Louise Cutler

PERU -- Services for Margaret Louise Cutler, 85, of 355 W. Third St., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church, 53 E. Main St.

She died at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, in Johnson Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

The Revs. H.P. Gaines and David Doles will officiate the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Bette J. Carmin, 76, of 303 Pine Court, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

DELPHI -- Services for Charles C. McNally, 69, of 4874N State Road 25, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Horn Funeral Home.

Mr. McNally died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, April 9, 1999, in Heritage Healthcare, West Lafayette.

The Rev. Ellis Gasser will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.

Edith Mae Brady

KEWANNA -- Private services for Edith Mae Brady, 75, of Kewanna, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel.

She died at 5:35 p.m. Friday, April 9, 1999, at Extenda Care in Winamac.

Born July 9, 1923, in Monterey, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rose Howard Denny. On Feb. 21, 1940, she was married to Joseph F. Brady, who died Jan. 19, 1998.

She was a homemaker and liked to put together jigsaw puzzles.

She was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Kewanna.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Martie and Doran Collins, Kewanna; two sons, Walter Brady, Rochester, and Leslie, Kewanna; one brother, George Denny, Peru; two half brothers, Jim Denny and Carl Denny; two half sisters, Jo Ann Clingler, Leiters Ford, and Carol Morningstar, Tippecanoe; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

One brother preceded in death.

The Rev. Todd Wilson will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lake Bruce.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
