Doris Jean Plowman, 81, of 721 N. Falvey, Winamac, IN, passed away at 9:20 AM Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Life Care Center Of Rochester in Rochester, IN.

She was born September 19, 1927, in Earlsbourgh, OK, to Morlan and Muzzette Troope Keller.

She married Virgil R. Plowman on Dec. 11, 1945, in Piggott, Arkansas. He survives.

She was a former telephone operator for AT&T.

She lived in the Winamac area since 1980, coming from Griffith.

She was a talented needle pointer and artist. She collected rare antiquites.

She loved animals and kids.

She was an avid gardener.

Terrence Lee “Terry” Goble, 68, of 781 S 200 E, Winamac, IN, passed away at 10:58 AM Monday, September 29, 2008 at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianpolis, IN.

She was born February 8, 1940, in Cleveland, OH, to Wendall and Dorothy Peters Garman. Terry married John G. "Jack" Goble on June 7, 1987 in Winamac, IN. Terry was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winamac where she was active in the United Methodist Women Club. She regularly served the Winamac Kiwanis Club meals at the church. She belonged to the Indiana Nursing Association. She was employed as a registered nurse at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, at Four County Mental Health Center in Logansport,IN and at Logansport Memorial Hospital. She was a 1987 graduate of Indiana University in Kokomo, IN. Terry was a member of the Iris-Elm Garden Club in Winamac and took great pride in her flower gardens. She enjoyed reading and time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed nature, especially time spent on the beach and on the Tippecanoe River. Terry was a loving spouse, mother, and grandmother.

Friends may call 3-9 PM EDT Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Frain Mortuary.
& 1 hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Lula A. “Lu” Grostefon, 87, of 101 Oakview Drive, Monticello, IN, formerly of Srar City, IN., passed away at 12:42 AM Sunday, September 28, 2008 at White County Hospital in Monticello, IN.

She was born September 12, 1921, in Rochester, IN, to John and Cora Hirt Hilficker. Lu married Max Grostefon on April 22, 1967 in Logansport, IN. Lu was a former member of the Star City United Methodist in Star City, IN. She had worked as a seamtress for the Harris Garment Factory in Winamac, IN. and for Hart Shaftner & Marx Co in Rochester, IN. Lu enjoyed sewing, gardening and pets. She often drew colored pencil drawings. Lu enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Mary Margaret "Mert" Myers, 61, of 234 N. Columbia St., Francesville, IN, passed away at 3:20 AM Sunday, September 21, 2008 at her residence in Francesville, IN.

She was born April 3, 1947, in Gary, IN, to William and Elizabeth Eads. She married Donald W. Myers on September 4,1965 in Medaryville, IN. Donald survives.

Mary was employed as a housekeeper at Parkview Haven Retirement Home. Mary gave private care to several area residents over the years. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Medaryville, IN. Mary loved caring for her animals. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mary collected angels and lighthouses.

Anita-Ruth Breitweiser, 90, of 1801 Greencroft Blvd., Goshen, IN, passed away at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Goshen General Hospital in Goshen, IN.

She was born October 18, 1917, in Winamac, IN, to Lester and Georgia Ream Breitweiser.

Anita-Ruth was a native of Winamac, IN, and had lived in Bremen, IN, from 1951-57. She then moved to Elkhart in 1957 where she lived until moving to Goshen in recent years.

She was a retired music and art teacher, having taught for 35 years. She had taught in the Bremen, Elkhart, Medaryville, Burnettsville, and Wheatfield schools.
