She was born May 11, 1937 in Floyd County, KY. to Alfred and Annie Hall Tackett. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Haddock married Denver (D.C.) Haddock on July 22, 1971 . He preceded her in death on November 5, 2000 . Mrs. Haddock did professional cleaning for many Huntington area businesses.

Survivors include:3 Sons: Ernie Kiefer, Huntington, IN.; Danny Kiefer, Andrews, IN and Jerry Kiefer, Huntington, IN. and 1 Daughter: Sue Miller, Huntington, IN. 3 Brothers: Bobby Tackett, Allen Tackett, and Billy Tackett, all residing in Shreveport, LA. 2 Sisters: Rose Runion, Huntington , IN and Linda Lindaas, Huntington, IN. 7 grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 Sisters: Avene Copeland and Fannie Mygrant. 1 brother: Charles Tackett.

Calling will be on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street , Huntington , IN 46750 .
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home. Rev. Raymond Seilhammer will officiate.

Burial will be in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery , Huntington , IN.

Patricia Ann Gones, 71, formerly a member of the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Noll Missionary Sisters in Huntington, IN.,died on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 in Santa Ana, CA.

Patricia Ann was born July 5, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Art and Lucy Gones. Her parents preceded her in death.

Patricia Ann entered the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters in 1954. She served in the missions in Pennsylvania, Utah, Nevada, Texas and California. She spoke fluent Spanish.

Patricia left the OLVM Congregation in 1980 but continued working in religious education in Fullerton, San Clemente and Garden Grove, CA. Her funeral mass was held in St. Columban Church, Garden Grove, CA.

A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 10, 2007, with one hour of calling prior to the mass at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 West Park Dr., Huntington, IN with Rev. Thomas Fahey presiding.

Burial will be at the Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

The Patricia A. Gones Scholarship Program has been established in support of Religious Education Teacher Training. Donations may be sent to: The Stephen Center, P O Box 77813, Corona, CA 92877.

Sister Henrietta Wilke, O.L.V.M., 81, of Victory Noll in Huntington, IN. died Saturday, August 25, 2007 (9:45 PM) at Holy Family Heath Care Center Victory Noll, Huntington, IN.

Sister Henrietta Wilke was born January 12, 1926 in St. Rose, IL to Stephen Wilke and Mary Tebbe Wilke. Her parents preceded her in death.

Sister Henrietta entered the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on October 27, 1944 and made first Vows on August 5, 1947. She served in the missions in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Utah and Vermont. She served as coordinator of Victory Noll for a total of thirteen years.

She was survived by her five sisters; Sister Martha Wilke, O.L.V.M. , Sister Priscilla Wilke, O.L.V.M. both residing at Victory Noll in Huntington, IN , Mary Ann Hempen, St. Rose, IL, Bertha Kluemke, Breese, IL and Irma Korte, Highland, IL Also survived by one brother Andrew Wilke, St. Rose, IL.
She was preceded by one brother Raymond Wilke.

A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, August 27, 2007 with calling one hour prior to the service at the Victory Noll Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington, IN.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 28, 2007 with one hour of calling prior to the mass at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel with Rev. Thomas Fahey presiding.

Burial will be at the Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

Martha (Bea) Schabitzer, 85, died Saturday, August 25, 2007 at (11:17 PM) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Mrs. Schabitzer was born on August 26, 1921 to Rupert C. and Martha L. Schumacher Eckert Sr. She married Harry Walter Schabitzer on May 17, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2001.

Mrs. Schabitzer graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1939. Mrs. Schabitzer was employed at Huntington Laboratories for 16 years prior to her retirement in 1984. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabelle and Widows of Prayer. She was also a Member at Large of Delta Theta Tau Sorority.

Survivors include: 1 Son: Mark Schabitzer, Andrews, IN.

Preceded in death by: 4 Sisters: Lucille D. Berry, Bertha M. Bruch, Marie Anne Bender and Mary Ruth Renz. 2 Brothers: Rupert C. Eckert Jr. and John L. Eckert.

Visitation will be Saturday September 29, 2007 from 9:00 AM till service time of 10:00 AM at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church 860 Cherry St. Huntington, IN 46750. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday following calling at the church with Father John Guimond Officiating.

Floyd (Mac) Robert McGinnis, 78, Roanoke, IN, died at his residence August 14, 2007
(6:30 AM).
Mr. McGinnis was born August 12, 1929 in Walla Walla, Washington to Floyd Leland and Emma Fox McGinnis. His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. McGinnis was an aircraft mechanic. He retired from Miscellaneous Metals, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He served in the US Air Force.
He married Helen Creech on October 20, 1972 at Christ’s Church, Roanoke, IN. She survives and resides in Roanoke, IN.
Additional survivors include: 3 Sons: Jim McGinnis, Garden Grove, CA, Robert McGinnis, Long Beach, CA and Patrick McGinnis, CA. 1 Daughter: Deborah Ann Rastatter, Las Vegas, Nevada. 1 Sister: Judy Morrison, CA. 1 Stepson Robert Garrison, Huntington, IN 3 Stepdaughters Kitty Prouty, Huntington, IN Juanita Simpkins, Andrews, IN and Cynthia Phillip, Huntington, IN. 18 Grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by a daughter, Cathy McGinnis and 2 brothers: Jim McGinnis and Eugene Allen McGinnis.

Calling hours will be Saturday, August 18, 2007 from 1 to 3 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 3 PM at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750. Rev. Clyde Trumbauer will officiate.

Ida Lou Carl, 90, Huntington, IN, died at 10:08 AM, Monday, August 13, 2007 at Visiting Nurses and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
Ida Carl was born in Cleves, Ohio to William and Sarah Wolfe on December 19, 1916. Her parents preceded her in death. She married Mark C. Carl on June 10, 1947 in Winchester, Ohio. Mr. Carl died June 26, 2002.

Mrs. Carl was self-employed as an artist, beautician, realtor, and tax preparer.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Richmond, IN; Tri Kappa Sorority in Richmond; Daughters of the American Revolution; First families of Ohio; and Charles McMicken Society at the University of Cincinnati.

She is survived by a daughter: Sara A. Williams, Huntington. Also 3 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren. Brothers George, Cliff, and Bill all preceded her in death.

Calling will be Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, August 16 at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Hodgkin officiating.
Burial will be at Earlham Cemetery, Richmond, IN.

Donald E. Elser, , of Ossian, IN., formerly of Huntington, IN. died on Thursday, August 9, 2007, (6:31 AM) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.

Mr. Elser was born April 1, 1936 in Huntington County to Wilson and Alice Straton Elser. His parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Elser married Sarah R. Phillips on December 20, 1980. She survives and resides in Ossian, IN.
Prior to his retirement Mr. Elser was employed at Maco Corp., Huntington, IN (15yrs) and Paramount Tube Division, Fort Wayne, IN (16yrs). He was a member of First Nazarene Church in Bluffton, IN.

Survivors include: Step-daughters: Brenda Hoyng, Yoder, IN and Belinda Hines, Bluffton, IN and Step-son, David Crowell, Fort Wayne, IN 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren. A brother, Jr. Wilson Elser, Kendallville, IN. and 2 Sisters: Bonnie Gillispie, Wolcottville, IN and Leta Hunnicutt, Fort Wayne, IN.
Preceded in death by 2 sisters: Carol Brown and Annie Greene.

Calling will be Saturday, August 11, 2007 at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home. Pastor Rich Secor and Pastor Larry Sheets will officiate.

Clifford V.L. Smith, 74, of Huntington, IN, died on Monday, August 6, 2007, (5:17 AM) at Norwood Nursing Center, Huntington IN.

Clifford Smith was born April 25, 1933 in Mt. Etna, Indiana to Albert and Viola Braden Smith. His parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Smith married Helen Branstrator March 28, 1953; she preceded him in death April 1, 2006 in Huntington, IN.
Mr. Smith was a self-employed painting contractor. He was a member and past president of the eagles lodge in Huntington. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors Include: 2 Daughters: Debra Householder and Judy Wade, both of Huntington, IN., a sister, Marilyn Coffey, Molten, AL. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Elvin (Ted) Lessig and Floyd Smith. He also has 3 Granddaughters and 5 Great Grandchildren.

Calling will be Wednesday August 8, 2007 at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Howard Cherry officiating.

Burial will be private.

Marjorie A. (Dolly) Nicholson, , 71, formerly of Huntington, IN. passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at 6:50 PM on Monday, July 30, 2007 at St Anne Home and Retirement Community, Fort Wayne, IN.
She was born March 21, 1936 in Fort Wayne, IN to Edward and Lillian Maldeney. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Nicholson married Stanley Nicholson on August 2, 1975. Her husband survives and resides in Huntington, IN.
Mrs. Nicholson was a 1954 graduate of Elmhurst High School, Fort Wayne, IN. She was a member of St.Therese Parish, Waynedale, IN. and a former member of SS.Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge, New Haven, IN. She retired in 1994 after being employed for 35 years with ASCS. Mrs. Nicholson enjoyed her hobbies of cooking and painting ceramics. After retirement she enjoyed bird watching, flowers and spending time with her grandsons.
Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Mrs. Kay Lynn (Jeremy) Dohm Fort Wayne, IN. 2 Brothers: Richard (Ruth) Maldeney, Decatur, IN. and Maurice (Delores) Maldeney, Fort Wayne, IN. 1 Sister: Mrs. Rita (Joseph) Brinker, Fort Wayne, IN. 2 Grandsons: Mason and Matthew Dohm.
She was preceded in death by a Sister-in-Law, Joyce Maldeney.
Calling will be Thursday, August 2, 2007 at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community, 1900 Randallia Dr. Fort Wayne, IN from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Recitation of the rosary will be at 6:00 PM. Additional calling will be on Friday, August 3, 2007 from 9 :00 AM to 10:30 AM at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

John L. Yaste, 75, of Huntington, IN, died on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, (5:04 PM) Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.

John Yaste was born March 11, 1932 in Huntington, Indiana to John G. and Leah Lidia Lions Yaste. His parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Yaste married Dorothy Dalrymple March 2, 1956 in Virginia; she survives in Huntington, IN. Mr. Yaste was retired from Our Sunday Visitor in 1989. He was 1951 Graduate of Huntington Catholic High School and member of the American Legion Post 85 in Huntington, IN.

Survivors Include: 4 Sons: Bob Yaste Huntington, IN, Bill Yaste Bluffton, IN, Chris Yaste Chicago, IL and Tim Yaste Huntington, IN. 1 Daughter Cindy Kurk of Naples FL. Also surviving are 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by 1 Brother Joe Yaste and one sister Marjorie Yaste.

Calling will be Sat., July 28, 2007 at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home from 9:00 AM to 10:00 am.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Sat. July 28, 2007 at McElhaney - Hart Funeral Home 715 N. Jefferson St. Huntington, IN with Father John Guimond officiating.
