Sister Mary Cecilia Niehaus, O.L.V.M., 92, of Victory Noll in Huntington, IN. died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 (4:00 AM) at Holy Family Heath Care Center Victory Noll, Huntington, IN.

Sister Mary Cecilia Niehaus was born December 21, 1914 in Cincinnati, OH to Joseph and Anna (Feldhaus) Niehaus. Her parents preceded her in death.

Sister Mary entered the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on October 28, 1942 and made first Vows on August 5, 1945. She served in the missions in California, Indiana, Texas and Utah. She returned to Victory Noll in 1970 and served for many years as homemaker and caring for the Grounds.

She was survived by two brothers, Edward Niehaus of Cincinnati, OH and Paul Niehaus of Wellborn, FL. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Henry, Richard, Frank and Robert also by one sister Ida Niehaus Carter.

Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2007 with calling one hour prior to the service at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington, IN.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 24, 2007 with one hour of calling prior to the mass at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel with Rev. Thomas Fahey presiding.

Burial will be at the Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

Georgia E. Young, 91, formerly of Huntington, IN. died on Monday, March 19, 2007 (7:50 PM) at Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Mrs. Young was born April 17, 1915 in Huntington, IN. to Charles F. Plummer and Houttie Chenoweth. Her marriage was to Donald O. Young April 6, 1934. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1985.

Mrs. Young was a Homemaker. She was an employee of Wolf and Dessauer where she worked for 13 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington, IN.

Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Sharon Hillyard, Fort Wayne, IN; 3 grand-children; 2 Great-grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Mrs. Henrietta Shafer, Huntington, IN., and Mrs. Virginia Davis, Columbia City, IN.
She was preceded in death by one son Charles Fred Young.

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday April 17, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church 50 E. Tipton St. Huntington, IN with Rev. John Ritchie officiating.

Burial will be in Gardens of Memory.

Jane E. Settlemyre, 78 of Huntington, IN died (9:26 AM) Saturday March 17, 2007 at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mrs. Settlemyre was born on March 11, 1929 in Joliet, IL to Thurman and Edith Reed Holt. Her parents preceded her in death. Her first marriage was to Jerome W. Salz, he preceded her in death in February, 1949. Her second marriage was to Kenyon Settlemyre. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1965.

Mrs. Settlemyre was a retired employee of Friction Materials, Huntington Indiana.
She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN.

Survivors include 2 Sons: Michael L. Salz Sr., Tonica, IL and Jim Settlemyre, Huntington, IN. 3 Daughters: Jeanine Shock, Winnipeg, Canada, Sonja Atwell, Huntington, IN and Donna Geese, Huntington, IN. 1 Brother: James Holt, Joliet, IL. 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Calling will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750 and on Friday, March 23, 2007 at the Solon Baker Telford Funeral Home, 301 S. Park, Streator, IL 61364-2957 from 3 to 7 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, March 24, 2007.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Solon Baker Telford Funeral Home, Streator, IL at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Leonore, IL.

Lois Bowers, 82, Huntington, Indiana, died March 15, 2007 at 6:20 PM at Millers Merry Manor in Huntington, IN.
Mrs. Bowers was born on October 22, 1924 in Huntington, Indiana to Clyde and Mae (Kalb) Raver. Her parents preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bowers married Clarence Otto Bowers Jr. on August 4, 1948 in Huntington, IN.
He preceded her in death on July 15, 1986.
She was a Graduate of Huntington High in 1942.
Mrs. Bowers work as a secretary for Huntington Lab and retired in 1988.

Survivors include: 1 Son: Tom C. and (Linda) Bowers, Huntington, IN and 2 Daughters: Mrs. (Roger) Margery Summers, Huntertown, IN and Judith Bowers, Huntington, IN. 2 sisters: Ruth Stephens, Mexico and Margery Rouch, Galveston, IN. 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by 1 daughter: Carol Byrd, 1 brother William Raver, and 1 Grandson Christopher Howell.

Visitation will be 1hour prior to the memorial service on Monday.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Monday March 19, 2007 with Rev. J ohn Ritchie officiating at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750.

Interment will be private.

Mary "Peg"Toussaint, 84, a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday February 27, 2007 at her residence in Alta Loma, CA.

She was born January 17, 1923 in Huntington, IN to Loran and Freda (Davis) Burris. Her parents preceded her in death.
She attended Huntington High School and attended Huntington College. She graduated from Chapman College in Orange, CA in 1968. She was employed as a teacher for 20 years in Garden Grove California Unified School District for 20 years teaching 2nd and 4th Grades. She was a former member of the Central Christian Church in Huntington, IN.

She was survived by her daughter Jann Tague, Rancho Cucamonga, CA and a Son Steve Toussaint of Westlake San Jose, CA. 4 Sisters Marjorie Michael of Valparaiso, IN Jean Kelly of Indianapolis, IN, Jane Brown of Indianapolis, IN and Nancy E. Miller of Huntington, IN. 9 Grandchildren and 11 Great grandchildren.

Services and burial were held privately in California.

Lois B. Smith, 85, Huntington, IN died at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Markle Health Care, Markle, IN.
Mrs. Smith was born on December 5, 1921 in Winchester, IN to Harry Melvin and Florence Ethel Lahey Oxley. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Smith married James Smith Oct. 14, 1945 in Farmland, IN. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1999.
She was a homemaker and a member of Union Church.
Survivors include: 2 sons: John Smith and Mark Smith both of Huntington, IN; 2 daughters: Ingrid Smith, Huntington, IN and Mrs. David (Ardonna) Jackson of Bluffton, IN; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death are 1 brother Orvan Oxley and 1 sister Rachel Brooks.
Calling hours will be on Friday, February 23, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6-8 PM at the Family Life Center at Union Church, 3688 E- 400 N, Huntington, IN. Additional calling will be Saturday, February 24, 2007 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary of Union Church.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary of Union Church with Dr. Howard Cherry and Childrens Minister Camille Kline officiating.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

Sister Florence Garbacz, O.L.V.M., 88, of Victory Noll in Huntington, IN. died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 (12:45 PM) at Holy Family Heath Care Center Victory Noll, Huntington, IN.

Sister Florence Garbacz was born November 20, 1918 in Cleveland, OH to John and Sophie Cuipidro Garbacz. Her parents preceded her in death.

Sister Florence entered the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Misssionary Sisters on January 3, 1946 and made first Vows on August 5, 1948. She served in the missions in Alabama, Arizona, California, Michigan, Missouri and New Jersey. She returned to Victory Noll in 2004 and served as a volunteer.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Garbacz and Stanley Garbacz, both of Cleveland, OH.

A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2007 with calling one hour prior to the service at the Victory Noll Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington, IN.

Julianna A. Myers, 14 days old, Huntington, IN died at 8:23 PM on Tuesday, Febraury 20, 2007, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
Julianna was born on February 6, 2007 in Fort Wayne, IN to Brandy Jane Bruner and William Myers Jr.
Survivors include: Her parents. One brother: Kaleb Coyne, Van Wert, OH and one sister: Madison Bruner, Huntington, IN. Paternal Grandparents: William Myers Sr., Tipton, IN and Karen Netzley, Huntington, IN. Paternal Great Grandmother: Rosie Garwood Aurora, IL. Maternal Grandparents: Bruce and Lori Bruner, Huntington, IN and Doris and Roger Green, Huntington, IN. and Maternal Great Grandparents: Patricia and Herbert Larkey, Huntington, IN.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel. Fr. John Guimond will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

Vernon Bennett, 83,Huntington, IN died at 11:25 AM on Monday, February 19, 2007 at his residence.
Mr. Bennett was born on December 29 1923 in Wilson Mills, Maine to Daniel Clinton and Gladys Cameron Bennett. His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Bennett married Patricia Kissinger on August 4, 1969 in Huntington, IN. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2006.
He was a former member of the Salvation Army. Mr. Bennett was a former retiree of GM.

Survivors include: 5 Sons: Phillip Bennett, LaSalle, MI.; Rick Bennett, Burleson, TX.; Gary Bennett, Toledo, OH;; Hobart Bennett, Huntington, IN and James Bennett, Wilson Mills, Maine. 4 Step-Sons: Michael Brewer, Fort Wayne, IN.; Danny Uecker, Redding CA.; Rick Uecker, Huntington and Jeff Uecker, Huntington. 2 Daughters: Patricia Evans, Wilson Mills, Maine and Denise Bradley, Huntington, IN.
Step-daughter Debra Bennett, Huntington, IN. 1 Brother Rolfe Bennett. 24 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: 4 Brothers.

Mrs. Ramey was born February 1,1915 in Wabash, IN to Earl and Edythe Hewitt Urshel. Her parents preceded her in death.
She married Wilbur Ramey. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Mrs. Ramey was the manager of the DanDee Shop in Huntington. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the American Business Women’s Association, Esa Epsilom Sigma Alpha Sorority and the Girl Scout Council.
Survivors include: Her Son-in-law, Norman Brown, a sister: Marquerite Seifert, Fort Wayne, IN. and 2 grand-daughters Theresa Hinesley, Huntington, IN and Taralee Stark, Carmel, Indiana.
Preceded in death by a daughter SueAnn Brown and 3 Brothers: Herbert Urshel, Eugene Urshel and Fred Urshel.

Calling will be Thursday, February 22, 2007 from 5 to 6 PM with services at 6:00 PM at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home 715 N. Jefferson Street Huntington Indiana with the Rev. Noel Reed, officiating.
Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

Mr. Dolby attended Huntington North High School. He worked for Triple S. Veal Inc. in Wabash, IN.

Memorial service will be Thursday February 15, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with calling one hour prior to service at funeral home.

Burial will take place at a later date.

Chistopher "Chris" Pearson, 21, of Huntington, IN died Saturday February 3, 2007 in Huntington, IN the results of an auto accident.

He was born September 30, 1985 in Huntington, IN to Ronald and Vicki Kline Pearson. His parents survive in Huntington, IN.
He worked at Southworth Ford, Lincoln, Mercury in Marion as an auto repair mechanic. He was previously employed at Beekman Dairy Farms, Affordable Luxury Homes & Clounie Landscaping.
Chris graduated from Huntington North High School in 2004 and from Wyotech in Blalirsville, PA in 2005, studying Auto Body Repair & Collision.
He was a member of the Huntington County Sheriff’s Disaster Team and an Eagle Scout with Troop 130, Huntington.
He enjoyed music, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and hunting.
Additional survivors include his girl friend Christa Keplinger, Huntington, 1 brother Chad Pearson, Huntington and grandparents Curly & Gini Pearson, Huntington.
Calling will be Tuesday, February 6, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Inc., 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 10:00 AM at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Gonser officiating.
Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
