Mildred L. Wall, age 87, 1180 West 500 North, Huntington, died at 11:45 am Thursday (December 29, 2005) at The Heritage of Huntington.
Mrs. Wall was a teacher for over 30 years retiring from Center Elementary School in Marion. She also taught at Evans Elementary School, in Marion, Union Township School and Jefferson Township School both in Huntington County. Mrs. Wall was a member of the A.D.K. Teachers Sorority and the Camera Club both in Ft. Wayne as well as the Pastime Club, Department Club and the General Motors Sympathy Club all in Marion.
Mrs. Wall was born on March 7, 1918 in Huntington, the daughter of Sherman and Lela (Camblin) Brown. She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1936 and received her teaching degree from Ball State Teachers College in Muncie. On August 31, 1940, she married Eldon B. Wall in Huntington.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years - Eldon B. Wall of Huntington; two daughters - Mrs. Paul (Janet) DeWitt of Warren, IN and Mrs. Larry (Joyce) Keiffer of LaFontaine, IN; five brothers - Don Brown of Huntington, Keith Brown of Huntington, Floyd Brown of Huntington, Dale Brown of Warren, IN and Von Brown of Warren, IN; one sister - Betty Jean Brown of Muncie, IN; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. A brother, Ernest Brown, and a sister, Martha Eppard, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 10-12 pm Tuesday (January 3, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 12 pm (noon) Tuesday (January 3, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Gerald Moreland officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.

Phyllis I. Detamore, age 76, 265 E. Madison, Andrews, died Sunday (December 25, 2005) at 2:41 am at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Detamore was a homemaker and retired from Memcor of Huntington. She also worked at the Huntington and Andrews Bell Telephone, Kitchen Maid in Andrews and Hedrick’s Manufacturing of Andrews. A lifetime resident of Andrews, Phyllis was the organist for over 30 years for the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home in Andrews and played for Norwood Nursing Center as well. She was the organist for the Andrews Church of the Brethren where she was a member. Phyllis was a member of the Thursday Morning Bible Study at the church.
Mrs. Detamore was born on January 5, 1929 in Andrews, the daughter of the late Everett and Bertha (Hodson) Bigelow. She was a 1947 graduate of Andrews High School. Phyllis married Wilbert “Bud” Detamore on December 22, 1951 in Andrews.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years - Wilbert “Bud” Detamore of Andrews; one sister - Carolyn (Milton) Toner of Tampa, FL; one brother - John (Jerry Sue) Bigelow of Carlsbad, New Mexico; one sister-in-law - Mrs. Lewis (May) Bigelow of Andrews; four nephews and four nieces. A brother, Lewis Bigelow, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Wednesday (December 28, 2005) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday (December 29, 2005) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Jerry Felts officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery.

Alan F. Laux, age 64, of Huntington, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday (May 9, 2008) Parkview Huntington Hospital.
There will be no visitation or services.

Amanda Eickhoff, 97, Huntington, died Tuesday (April 26, 2005) at 6:15 p.m., at Norwood Nursing Center where she resided.
Mrs. Eickhoff was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. In later years, she worked at the former Bechstein’s Grocery. A lifelong resident of Huntington, she was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church and a volunteer at Huntington Hospital.
She was born January 13, 1908, in Huntington, a daughter of William and Meta (Brandt) Sundermann. She attended Huntington Township High School and Huntington High School. On February 5, 1927, she married Henry Eickhoff and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1967.
Survivors include a son - George (Barba) Eickhoff of Huntington, a daughter - Mrs. Robert Joe (Anita) Prout of Huntington, 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A son and the twin brother of George, Frederick Eickhoff, died shortly after birth. Her brother, Herman Sunderman, and sister, Marie Harrell, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday (April 29, 2005) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday (April 30, 2005) at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 648 North LaFontaine Street., Huntington, with 1 hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Rev. Dr. Richard Lofgren will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.

Anna K. “Peg” Hoover, age 88, formerly of Huntington, died at 10:53 pm on Thursday (February 14, 2008) at the Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, IN.
Mrs. Hoover was the bookstore manager, known as “Mom Hoover”, at the Huntington North High School from 1970 - 1981. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Huntington and the Eastern Star Huntington Chapter.
Anna was born on April 3, 1919 in Huntington, the daughter of Ernest and Fern (Clinger) Ruef. She graduated from Warren High School in 1937. Anna married Max H. Hoover on November 7, 1948 in Huntington. He preceded her in death in July 29, 1999.
Survivors include one son - Mike Hoover of Huntington; one daughter - Mrs. Jeff (Sally) Anderson of Huntington; one brother - Jerry Ruef of Huntington; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3 - 7 p.m. Monday (February 18, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday (February 19, 2008) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Dr. Sam Young officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory, Huntington.

Bernard Stambazze, age 81, 1500 Grant Street, Huntington, died at 12:50 a.m. Monday (January 28, 2008) at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington.
Mr. Stambazze retired in 1990, after 19 years as the manager for Clark’s Cafeteria in Wabash, IN. Prior to that, he was the Chef at Emley’s Restaurant in Marion, IN for 26 years. Bernard was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post # 2689 where he served on the House Committee and as a Service Officer as well as on the Color Guard Detail.
Bernard was born on May 31, 1926 in Logansport, IN, the son of Jacob and Ida Gertrude (Bebee) Stambazze. He served during WW II in the United States Navy as a Gunners Mate Second Class. Bernard married Norma Jean Teddy on May 19, 1946 in Huntington and she preceded him in death on July 8, 1993.
Survivors include two sons - Bernard “Pete” (Judy) Stambazze of Marion, Ohio and Bob (Marla) Stambazze of Huntington; one daughter - Bernadette Kay (Michael) Byrne of Elk Rapids, Michigan; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Two brothers - Kale Turnpaugh and George Stambazze, and a sister - Bonnie Stambazze, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday (January 29, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (January 30, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. David Ballinger officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington. The V.F.W. Post 2689 will conduct military graveside services.

Betty C. Douglass, age 60, Huntington, passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Friday (March 14, 2008) at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
Ms. Douglass retired from Square D Company, Huntington, where she worked for 38 years in quality control. Betty attended the Northview Church of Christ, and loved her pets.
Betty was born on June 22, 1947 in Maryville, TN, the daughter of George H. and Charldean (Boyd) Douglass.
Survivors include her sister - Kathy Crago of Huntington; a brother - Roy E. Douglas of Huntington; three nephews; three nieces; 16 great nieces and nephews; and 3 beloved pets - Doodles, Lizzie, and Daisy. Her parents and a brother - Archie L. Douglas preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Tuesday (March 18, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (March 19, 2008) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Raymond Scribner officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.

Betty Marjorie Sutton, 81, 300 Crown Hill Drive, Huntington, died at 8:33 a.m. Tuesday (February 26, 2008) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Sutton was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntington.
Betty was born April 6, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the daughter of Edward and Anna (Barsa) Votruba. She married John Nelson Sutton in Detroit, MI on August 7, 1946.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years - John N. Sutton of Huntington; eight daughters - Mrs. Mark (Sherie) Pyle of Ft. Wayne, Mrs. Jim (Vicki) Irick of Harlan, IN, Sheila Sutton and Mrs. Dave (Vivian) Brosamer of South Whitley, IN, Lynn Sutton of St. Petersburg, FL, Mrs. Dan (Julie) Sunderman of Marshall, MI, Mrs. Dan (Susi) Williams of Dayton, OH, Mrs. Doug (Barbi) Stephan of North Manchester; nineteen grandchildren, and twenty-two great grandchildren. Two brothers - James and Kenneth Votruba, preceded her in death.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday (February 29, 2008) with visitation one hour prior, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St. Father John Pfister will be officiating.

Beulah “Boots” Hiner, age 77, of Lawton, Oklahoma, formerly of Huntington, died Saturday (August 30, 2008) in Lawton.
Mrs. Hiner worked for Square D in Huntington for several years. She attended schools in High Hat, KY.
Boots was born on April 7, 1931 in Fed, Kentucky, to James B. and Cora Lea (Estep) Elswick. She married Ivan E. Hall in 1948 and he died in 1976. In 1996, she married Earl Hiner and after he passed in 2000, she then married Vern Montington. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Survivors include one son - Ivan E. (Pamela) Hall, Jr. of Lawton, OK; one daughter - Sharon Miller of Ft. Wayne; two brothers - Clayton Elswick and Hershell Elswick both of Taylor, Michigan; three sisters - Velma (Bud) Hay of Warren, Jewell (Ralph) Turner of Sharonville, Ohio and Annabell (Charles) Reid of Allen, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren - Taylor Hall, Parkar Hall, Spenser Hall, Byron Buchanan, Jeremy Buchanan, Priscilla Lock, Stephen Buchanan, Michael Hess and Kristy Hess, and 9 great-grandchildren. Her parents, her husbands, brothers - Elmer Elswick and Delmer Elswick, sister - Jeanette Martin, and daughter - Debra Hess, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday (September 5, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday (September 6, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Reverend Elzie Spencer officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.

Byron Burdell Lahr, age 97, formerly of Route 6, Huntington, died at 7:13 a.m. on Thursday (April 10, 2008) at his residence at the Heritage Pointe in Warren.
Byron was born on April 10, 1911 in Clear Creek Township, Huntington County, IN to Oliver B. and Gertrude A. (Emley) Lahr. He then moved to Lancaster Township where he engaged in farming.
On September 6, 1936, he married Dorotha Mae Landrum at the Pleasant Grove E.U.B. Church and she survives.
Besides being a hard-working farmer, Byron also drove a school bus for Lancaster Township. He graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1929. He enjoyed all sports, especially I.U. and Purdue basketball and was a loyal fan of the Huntington North Vikings up until the last few years.
Mr. Lahr lived a life of faith and taught Sunday School for more than 50 years. He had a genuine zest for life and was known as a master storyteller, telling jokes and making everyone laugh. No matter where he was, at home in Huntington or on his travels around the country, Byron never met a stranger.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elaine Houff of Stuarts Draft, VA, two grandsons, William E. Nelson and wife, Andrea, of Brentwood, TN and Michael A. Nelson of Glen Burnie, MD, two great-grandchildren, Kristen and, husband, Bart Norman of Nashville, TN and Michael L. Nelson of Brentwood, TN and one great-great-grandson, Elijah K. Norman of Nashville, TN.
Preceding Mr. Lahr in death were his parents, stepmother, Elsie Louise Lahr Lauer and Hebert Lauer, a sister and husband, Leatha and Milton Byrd, and son-in-law, Earl Houff.
Visitation will be from 1 - 2 p.m. Saturday (April 12, 2008) at the Applegate Chapel at Heritage Pointe, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren, IN. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday (April 12, 2008) at the Applegate Chapel with Pastor Ed Clark officiating. A private family burial will take place at the Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington County.

Charles H. “Chuck” Bragg, age 73, 345 Jackson Street, Huntington, died at 6:25 p.m. Thursday (January 24, 2008) at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Bragg retired from W. W. Concrete Inc. in Roanoke after 47 years as a concrete mixer driver. After his retirement, he worked for Norwood Golf Course. Chuck was a member of the American Legion Post #85 and the Eagles Lodge #823, both of Huntington, and the Teamsters Union #414 of Ft. Wayne. A lifetime resident of Huntington County, he loved to play country music on his guitar.
Chuck was born on October 6, 1934 in Roanoke, the son of Charles C. and Lulu (VanMeter) Bragg. He married Vivian I. Shock on November 6, 1965 in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years - Vivian I. Bragg of Huntington; one son - Charles E. Bragg of Etna Green, IN; one daughter - Tina Strayer of Indianapolis, IN; one brother - Irvin (Maxine) Carpenter of Auburn, IN; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A daughter - Amy Whilder, brothers - Garl Slagel, James Slagel and Fred Carpenter; and sisters - Rosie Carpenter and Ruth Carpenter, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 1 - 4 p.m. Monday (January 28, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with funeral services following at 4 p.m. Monday (January 28, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. A private family burial will be held at the Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, IN.

Charles E. Carey, age 98, of Warren, died at 5:10 a.m. Monday (May 19, 2008) at Heritage Pointe where he lived.
Charles was the former owner of Carey’s Cold Springs Store in Lincoln, NH, co/owner of the Deer Park Drive-In Theater in North Woodstock, NH from 1954-1971 and Carey’s Little Grille also in North Woodstock from 1947-1954. Prior to living in Hew Hampshire, he owned Carey’s Café in Huntington from 1944-1946. He was a member of the Parker Lodge #97 F&AM in North Woodstock, NH, Betktash Scottish Temple in Concord, NH, and a thirty-five year member of the Elks Lodge #1831 in Littleton, NH. Charles was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post in Indianapolis. He was a former director of the Granite State Trust Bank in Lincoln NH for over 15 years and a member of the Ellenton United Methodist Church in Ellenton, FL.
Charles was born March 23, 1910 in Brandon, Vermont, the son of Lottie (Bell) Barkum. He was a United States Army veteran serving in WW II. Charles married Imogene I. Bechtold on March 23, 1941 in Tampa, Florida and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include a sister-in-law - Helen J. Bechtold of Warren, IN; four step-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. His son, Charles E. Carey, Jr., preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday (May 21, 2008) at Fairview Cemetery, Servia, with the Rev. John Pattison officiating.

Charles F. Pence, age 85, Huntington, died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday morning (June 22, 2008) at the Renaissance Village in Ft. Wayne.
Mr. Pence retired in 1982 from International Union Operating Engineers Local #103 in Ft. Wayne, where he worked from 1946 to 1982. Charles was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #2689, American Legion Post #7, Moose Lodge #837 all in Huntington and the International Union Operating Engineers Local #103 in Ft. Wayne. He was a lifetime resident of Huntington, and a 1940 graduate of Huntington High School. Charles served as a Chief Boatsman Mate with the U.S. Coast Guard during W.W.II.
Charles was born on September 2, 1922 in Huntington, the son of Fred B. and Mildred (Anson) Pence. Charles married Helen L. Davis on August 27, 1947 in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years - Helen L. Pence of Huntington; one son - Charles A. “Squeek” Pence of Warren; two daughters - Diana Stucker (James) of Markle and Jackie Towns (Gene) of Markle; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One sister - Mary Margaret Hunnicutt preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Tuesday (June 24, 2008) from 2 - 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (June 25, 2008) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Russell Buzzard officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Huntington County with the V.F.W. Post #2689 performing military graveside rites. Memorial may be made to the V.F.W. Color Guard in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750.

Dean Paul Lahr, age 76, Huntington, passed away at 4:00 a.m. Saturday (July 19, 2008) at his residence.
Mr. Lahr was a lifetime Rock Creek Township farmer and retired in 2002 from Majestic Company in Huntington after 36 1/2 years in the shipping and receiving department. He graduated from West Rock Creek High School in 1950 and was a member of the Loon Creek Church of the Brethren.
Dean was born on May 27, 1932 in West Rock Creek Township, Huntington County, the son of Guy and Mary Helen (Davis) Lahr. He was united in marriage to Marilyn J. Monteith on September 18, 1955 in Elkhart, IN.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years - Marilyn J. Lahr of Huntington; two sons - Steven W. (Michele) Lahr of Huntington and Douglas P. (Lisa) Lahr of Waynedale, IN; his mother-in-law - Vera Monteith of Heritage Pointe, Warren, IN and formerly of Elkhart; two grandsons - Travis A. Lahr and Trenten Dean Lahr both of Huntington County, and one granddaughter - Shantel Nicole Lahr of Waynedale, IN. His parents, a brother - Don K. Lahr, and a nephew - Kevin M. Lahr, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. Friday (July 25, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (July 26, 2008) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Kellie Herber officiating. Burial will be in the Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington County.

Don E. Kocher, age 87, 958 South Jefferson Street, Huntington, died at 8:55 a.m. Thursday (May 22, 2008) at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
Don retired in February of 1984 after 38 years at the Herald-Press where he was a printer and foreman of the composing room. He was a member of St. Peter’s First Community Church where he served as a past deacon, the American Legion Post #8 and the V.F.W. Post #2689 all of Huntington.
He entered the Army on July 15, 1942 at the age of 21, serving in the European Theater and participating in the Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and Ardennes Campaigns. For his service, he earned the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 4 Bronze Service Stars, the American Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Ribbon and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
Don was born May 8, 1921 in Huntington, the son of Oliver and Sophia (Roeper) Kocher. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1939. Don married Willodean L. Labertew on June 19, 1949 in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years - Willodean L. Kocher of Huntington; one son - Philip (Beverly) Kocher of Quincy, Ohio; one daughter - Barbara (Steve) Seemeyer of Elletsville, IN; three sisters - Betty Peters of Ft. Wayne, IN, Helen Pohler of Huntington and Louise Szewzuk of San Diego, California; three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Dorothy Cole, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 3 - 7 p.m. Monday (May 26, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday (May 27, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with the Rev. Gary Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.

Danny J. Hofferbert, age 60, 336 Hannah Street, Huntington, died at 3:25 a.m. Thursday (February 14, 2008) at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Hofferbert worked 34 years at Dana Coupling Products in Andrews, IN until it closed in August 2006. Danny attended Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington.
Danny was born on July 22, 1947 in Marion, IN the son of Norval Jacob and Rebecca May (Collins) Hofferbert. Danny was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his mother - Rebecca M. Hofferbert of Marion, IN, two sisters - Janet M. Elett of Huntington and Wanda E. (David) Weesner of Huntington. His father and a brother, Norval D. Hofferbert, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday (February 17, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Burial will be held at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN with military graveside services provided by the V.F.W. Post #2689.

Doris Liane Hoover, 76, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday (January 10, 2008) at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
Mrs. Hoover retired from Tokheim Corporation in Ft. Wayne in 1993 where she worked in the accounting department. Prior to that, she worked for Lincoln Life Insurance Company in Ft. Wayne. Doris was a member of the Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Roanoke Chapter and the American Legion #160 Women’s Auxiliary in Roanoke. She served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War and worked at the Pentagon while in the service.
Born September 6, 1931 in Jackson Township, Huntington County, she was the daughter of Glenn and Gladys (Haines) Miller. Doris graduated from Roanoke High School in 1949. She married Morris Allen Hoover on July 24, 1955 in Roanoke and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2007.
Survivors include three sons - Vincent W. Hoover of Huntington, Ted M. (Janet) Hoover of Fort Wayne and Jeffrey L. (Carla) Hoover of Roanoke; one daughter - Nancy L. (John) Larkey of Fort Wayne, one brother - Lamar Miller of Bryan, Ohio, and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday (January 14, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with the Order of Eastern Star Waynedale Chapter Twilight Service following at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday (January 15, 2008) at Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church, 880 East 1100 North, Roanoke, with 1 hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Marvin Grooms will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Chapel Cemetery, Roanoke.

Dorothy Dotson, age 83, Huntington, died Tuesday (January 15, 2008) at the Parkview Huntington Hospital with family members at her side.
She was born August 16, 1924 in Middlebourne, West Virginia a daughter of Leslie and Sylvia Ferrell. Most of her life was spent in East Liverpool, Ohio where she retired from the city hospital. She was a member of the Huntington Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters - Linda Gordon of Newton Falls, Ohio and Lois Gamble of Huntington, four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Her parents, a brother, Leslie Melvin, and a sister, Martha Ferrell, preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held Saturday (January 19, 2008) at Yellow Creek Presbyterian Cemetery in Wellsville, Ohio with burial following. Charles Gamble, son-in-law and minister at the Huntington Church, will preside.
Memorials may be made to the Huntington Church of Christ in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive Huntington, IN.

Dorothy M. Tomlinson, age 93, 1427 Sabine Street, Huntington, died at 4:25 am Monday (March 13, 2006) at the home of her nephew.
Mrs. Tomlinson retired in 1975 from the Utrad in Huntington and previously worked at the Huntington Hotel. A lifetime resident of Huntington, she was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Tomlinson was born on March 6, 1913 in Lagro, IN, the daughter of Horace and Viva M. (Ballard) Grimes. She married Talmage Tomlinson on October 22, 1930 in Huntington and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1981.
Survivors include one son - Jack Edward (Delores) Tomlinson of New Haven, IN; one brother - Charles (Betty) Grimes of Huntington; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Four brothers, John Grimes, Kenneth Grimes, Horace Grimes Jr. and Robert Grimes, and sister, Helen Oswalt, preceded her in death
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday (March 15, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 am Thursday (March 16, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Marti Lundy officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.

Duwayne Fugate, 34, 73 North Thorne Street, Wabash, IN died at 5:15 p.m. Monday (February 11, 2008) at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne as a result of an accident on February 4, 2008 in Peru, IN.
Mr. Fugate was employed as a driver with David Levin Company in Peru, IN and had driven a truck for several companies prior to that. He was a member of the American Legion Post #248 in Lagro, IN and the Eagles Lodge in Wabash, IN.
Born October 30, 1973 in Huntington, he was the son of Edward James Fugate and Judi (Luscumb) Spath. He married Stacey R. Ray in Lagro, IN on July 6, 2005.
Survivors include his parents both of Huntington; his wife of Wabash, IN; one daughter - Jacy D. Fugate at home; one stepson - Jordan R. Rowland at home; two brothers - Tom W. Luscumb of Glendale, CA and Bryan J. (Cindy) Fugate of Huntington; one sister - Michelle (Robert) Cuttshall of Huntington; one half-brother - Eddie Duwayne Fugate of West Virginia; and one half-sister - Ashley (John) Coleman of Franklin, Kentucky. A sister - Tammy Fugate, and a half-sister - Lois Ann Fugate, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm on Friday (February 15, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (February 16, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Chaplin Russ Dewell officiating. Military graveside service will be held at the Mt. Hope Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Huntington.

Edna Faye Gray, age 84, of Huntington, died at 12:12 a.m. Monday (June 2, 2008) at the Heritage of Huntington.
Edna was a homemaker and a loving mother.
Edna was born August 4, 1923 in Rochester (Fulton County), IN the daughter of Henry Aurther and Bertha Aldma (Baker) Utter. She graduated from Lagro High School in 1941. Edna married Jareld Zane Gray on June 12, 1942 in Wabash, IN and he preceded her in death on August 30, 1985 at Jimmerson Lake.
Survivors include two sons - Donald Ray Gray of Huntington and Thomas Zane (Carolyn) Gray of Huntington; one daughter - Janet Kay Stucker of Huntington; and eight grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, four brothers - Norman Utter, Henry Utter, Alfred Utter and Robert Utter, and a sister, Ethel Clingaman, preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (June 4, 2008) at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County. Pastor Jeff Carrel will officiate the service.

Eli Matthew James Moorman, age 2 ½ months, 4711 North State Road 13, Urbana, IN, died Tuesday (October 18, 2005) at 7:54 am at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne.
Master Moorman was born in Huntington, IN on July 22, 2005, the son of Michael J. and Rebekah L. (Adams) Moorman of Urbana, IN.
Survivors include his parents; a sister - Shayleigh Ryanne Moorman, at home; paternal grandparents - Thomas and Janet Moorman of Wabash, IN; maternal grandparents - John and Peggy Adams of Urbana, IN; maternal great-grandparents - Connie Adams of Monroe, TN and Bob and Mary Russ of Athens, OH; maternal great-great-grandfather - Brice Vermillion of Monroe, TN and several uncles, aunts and cousins. His paternal great-grandparents - James and Helen Moorman and Charlie and Jacquelyn Esler, maternal great-grandfather - Dennis Eli Adams, and maternal great-great-grandmother - Bettie Vermillion, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 2- 4 & 6-8 pm Thursday (October 20, 2005) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 am on Friday (October 21, 2005) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with his grandfather, John Adams, officiating. Burial will be in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Somerset, IN.

Eloise M. (Schenkel) Foster , age 85, Huntington, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday (March 7, 2008) at the Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington.
Mrs. Foster was employed through Rollo, Harter, & Poling LLP, as a legal secretary. She also worked for Congressman Roush’s local office, a secretary for the Huntington North High School and Huntington High School, and was co-owner of The Family Store, which was located on the corner of Jefferson St. and Washington St.Eloise was a 50+ year member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Huntington Business and Professional Women’s Organization.
Eloise was born on October 24, 1922 in Huntington, the daughter of Albert T. and Oma D. (Smith) Fahl. She was a graduate of Huntington High School. Eloise married Robert A. Schenkel on October 9, 1941 in Huntington. He preceded her in death in 1983. She then married G. Robert Foster on January 17, 1987, at the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years - G. Robert Foster of Huntington; one son - Gregory A. (Claudia) Schenkel of Indianapolis; one daughter - Mrs. Mark (Delene) Swing of Huntington; five step-sons - Steve Foster of New Orleans, LA, Tom Foster of Huntsville, AL, Jim Foster of Huntington, Dave Foster of Casper, WY, and Larry Foster of Salinas, CA; one step-daughter - Sally Foster of Vancouver, WA; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, a sister - Evie Barnhisel, and a brother - Kenneth Fahl.
Visitation will be 2 - 7 p.m. Tuesday (March 11, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (March 12, 2008) at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Guilford Street, with Rev. David Ballinger and Rev. Marti Lundy officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
