Place of death: at Plainfield Health Care Center in Plainfield, Indiana

Cause of Death: Natural Causes

Mrs. Alward was born in Manville, North Dakota on February 21, 1912, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Christian and Josephine Marie (Rood) Johnson.

After residing in Minnesota and North Dakota, she moved with her family to Chicago where she graduated in 1930 from Lakeview High School. She worked in Chicago at Marshall Field four years. She moved to Dowagiac, Michigan where she resided twenty-five years. In Michigan, she was a factory employee during World War II and was employed for a period at Heddon’s Bait Company. She then moved in 1958 to Indianapolis. She trained as a medical secretary and was employed at the Indiana University Medical Center until 1969. She had lived in Lebanon since 1969 and had been a homemaker.

She was married to William Lewis “Bill” Alward on June 22, 1969, in Lebanon, Indiana. Mr. Alward died on January 2, 1989.

Mrs. Alward was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and family gatherings. As well, she enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, and cards. Since 1983, she had been a regular winter visitor in Frost Proof, Florida.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2004, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for Wednesday, March 31, 2004, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Indiana.

MRS. ANGELIA “ANN” L. ABBOTT

Name: Mrs. Angelia L. “Ann” (Avery) Abbott Age: 86 Married

City of residence: Lebanon, Indiana

Date of death: Sunday, February 15, 2004, at noon

Place of death: At Parkwood Health Care Center in Lebanon

Cause of death: Natural Causes following an extended illness

Mrs. Abbott was born in Starke County, Indiana on May 27, 1917, a daughter of the late Vern D. and N. Pearl (Johnson) Avery.

She was raised in Burlington from an early age and graduated from Burlington High School in 1935. Following high school she attended the Chicago Art Institute. Prior to her marriage she worked in the telephone office at Burlington.

She was married on January 3, 1941, in Camden, Indiana to Clayton A. Abbott. Mr. Abbott survives. Officiating for their wedding was Rev. John Abbott.

Mrs. Abbott was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed her family, crafts, gardening, antique dolls, and sewing.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 17, 2004, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.

One Daughter: Ms. Carla L. Simmons - Bonita Springs, Florida

Beverly Jean Anderson, 76, passed away Friday, February 29, 2008, at her home in Thorntown under hospice care. She was born August 7, 1931, in Lebanon. She was the daughter of Moses and Mary L. (Butler) Nease. Her parents are deceased.

She married Richard H. Anderson in Lebanon, Indiana on January 22, 1949. He passed away in August 2004. They were life long residents of Boone County. She and her husband farmed all of their lives in the Elizaville and Thorntown areas. She loved getting together with family and friends. She enjoyed going to the lakes to camp and fish. She also enjoyed crafts and caring for others. She was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She attended Hope Community Church in Lebanon.

Mr. Anderson was born in Monticello , Kentucky on July 21, 1944. He was the son of the late James Dallas Anderson Lillie Mae (Chriswell) Anderson .

He lived in Boone County from age six and was a graduate of Pinnell High School in 1962 where he played basketball for four years.

He was first employed as a farm worker on the Tom Cunningham farm for about ten years. For twenty-five years he was self-employed operating J. Anderson Trucking.

He enjoyed his family and friends as well as his work, fishing, bowling, dancing, and singing.

Funeral Services are to be held on Friday, November 23, 2007, at noon at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street , in Lebanon , Indiana .

Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon , Indiana .
