Byron A. Kouns

1919-2003

Mr. Kouns was born on November 20, 1919, in Boone County, Indiana, the son of the late Karl John and Ethel (Christian) Kouns.

A life resident of Boone County, he graduated from Zionsville High School in 1937. He attended Indiana Business School in Indianapolis for two years.

He married Bonnie J. (Nease) Kouns in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on September 28, 1940. Mrs. Kouns survives.

He has served in the U.S. Army from 1941 - 1945 and spent thirty-three months in the South Pacific.

Mr. Kouns had owned a milk route and farmed a few years. He then worked for Highpoint Oil Company in Plainfield as a petroleum and oil deliveryman delivering Marathon products until he retired in 1983, after 30 years of service. In retirement he had also been a realtor for Weber Real Estate in Lebanon.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and basketball.

Officiating: Rev. Robert Davis

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2003, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Interment will be at Oak Hill in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2003 at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

One Son: Mr. Michael L. Kouns - Lebanon, Indiana

One Brother: Mr. Beryl E. Kouns - Zionsville, Indiana

One Sister: Mrs. John (Mary Alice) Millis - Indianapolis, Indiana

Mr. Scott M. Solomon - Danville, Indiana

Deceased: Two brothers, Robert L. Kouns and William M. Kouns, and a sister, Melva L. Padgett, are deceased.

MS. IMOGENE CAIN

NAME: Ms. Imogene Cain Age: 78 Divorced

City of Residence: 145 North Muirfield Circle, Lebanon, Indiana

Date of Death: Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at 12:15 p.m.

Place of Death: Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana

Cause of Death: Natural Causes

Ms. Cain was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on October 14, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Harry Allen and Effie (Neese) McCray.

She grew up in Lebanon, and with the exception of a short period many years ago, she was a life-long resident of Lebanon.

She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1943. She went on to receive a B.S. Degree from Ball State Teachers College in 1947. She also earned an M.S. Degree from Butler University in 1961. In addition, she attended Purdue University, IUPUI, Butler University and Ball State University for post-graduate studies.

She was married to Earl Keith Cain. He preceded her in death in 1970.

Ms. Cain taught school in New Castle, Indiana for one and one-half years. She returned to Lebanon, where she taught for thirty-nine and one-half years for the Lebanon School Corporation. During those years, she taught at Harney Elementary School and served as the sixth grade chairperson at Lebanon Middle School. She retired from teaching in 1988.

Ms. Cain was a devoted daughter, teacher, and friend. She loved to travel, read, play cards, and watch T.V. She especially liked college basketball and football.

Visitation will be held at Myers Mortuary on Friday, August 6, 2004, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Place of Death: Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, Indiana

Cause of Death: Natural causes

Mr. Campbell was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on November 21, 1926, the son of the late Ray and Alta Florabelle (Boxwell) Campbell.

He spent most of his life in Lebanon and was a 1945 graduate of Lebanon High School. After high school he entered the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War, 1946-1947.

He was married in Lafayette, Indiana on August 28, 1972 to Vicki Lee (McNew) Campbell. Mrs. Campbell survives.

Mr. Campbell lived in Groom, Texas 1980-1985 and in Columbus, Ohio 1990-1994. He had worked as a dry wall contractor for several contractors until he retired in 1988.

He enjoyed his family, home, crossword puzzles, golf and followed various sports on television.

Officiating: Rev. Phil Urban

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2004, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2004, at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.

Place of Death: Parkwood Health Care Center, Lebanon, Indiana

Cause of Death: Natural causes following an extended illness

Mrs. Canada was born in Montgomery County, near Linnsburg, Indiana, on October 17, 1913, the daughter of the late William Harrison and Pearly LaRinda Alfreda (Monroe) Chesterson.

She spent her early life in Lebanon and graduated in 1932 from Advance High School.

She was married in Lebanon, Indiana on May 8, 1934 to Lester Morton Canada. Mr. Canada died on April 12, 1997.

She lived in Lebanon and Advance following her marriage until she moved to Danville, Indiana in 1937. In 1962 the couple moved to a farm near Ladoga and then to a farm east of Mechanicsburg for ten years. In 1975 the couple moved to live east of Thorntown where she resided until she entered Parkwood in 2000.

She enjoyed her family, home, and work as well as flowers, gardening, and crocheting.

Officiating: Rev. Michael Landon

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2004, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2004, at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be at the Mace Cemetery at Mace, Indiana.

MR. ROBERT H. “BOB” CARNAHAN, SR.

Place of Death: at his residence in Frankfort, Indiana

Cause of Death: Unexpectedly of natural causes

Mr. Carnahan was born in Vincennes, Indiana on September 12, 1944, and was a son of the late William Herschel Carnahan and Evelyn (Twitty) Carnahan.

He was reared and educated in Vincennes. He moved to reside in Indianapolis and Zionsville prior to his marriage. He worked in Indianapolis at Sentinel Printing for about fifteen years.

Mr. Carnahan was married to Patricia Ellen (Philbeck) Carnahan on March 7, 1965, in Lebanon, Indiana. Mrs. Carnahan survives.

Following his marriage, the couple resided in Lebanon and Indianapolis prior to moving to Jefferson for two years prior to the present Frankfort address where he had resided since 1981.

In Frankfort, he was employed at the Clinton County Highway Department for the last twenty-five years.

Mr. Carnahan enjoyed his family and working in the yard, flowers and do-it-yourself projects. In addition, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and taking her to the park.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2004, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Burial will be at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.
