Mrs. Hawkins was born in Lebanon, Indiana on November 28, 1936, the daughter of the late Ora Ansel and Evelyn Maude (Miller) Shanklin.

She was a life resident of Boone County where she graduated from Whitestown High School in 1954. She attended cosmetology school in Lebanon studying under Mrs. Noble Ratts.

She was married on May 11, 1954, in Lebanon, Indiana, to Richard G. “Dick” Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins survives.

She owned and operated a beauty shop, Becky’s Beauty Salon, in Whitestown until she retired in 1995 due to her health.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards (euchre), traveling, and collecting Longaberger baskets.

Funeral Services are to be held on Monday, November 12, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Visitation will be held at Myers Mortuary from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2007.
Interment will be at the Union Lutheran Cemetery near Whitestown.

Mary E. Hawn

1955-2003

Mrs. Hawn was born in Bedford, Indiana, on March 26, 1922, and was a daughter of the late William L. and Gladys I. (Hackney) Haskett.

She was raised in Bedford and moved to Indianapolis at age sixteen and lived there until 1962. She resided in Lebanon since 1962.

During World War II she worked in defense factories in Indianapolis and as a waitress in various restaurants. In Lebanon she worked as a waitress at the Blue Bird Grill 1963-1966 and at the Lighthouse Inn 1967-1968. During the next eight years she was employed in local nursing homes and the United Methodist Children’s Home as a kitchen worker. She last worked as a waitress at the West Side Café until she retires in 1984.

She was married to William Myers and they divorced. She was married in Danville, Illinois on February 9, 1964 to Richard Lee Hawn. They divorced in 1974.

Mrs. Hawn enjoyed her family and friends, homemaking and cooking.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2003, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for Monday November 24, 2003, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Myers Mortuary, Lebanon, Indiana.

Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.

Place of Death: At St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana

Cause of Death: Natural Causes following an extended illness

Mr. Haws was born in Lake Hurst, New Jersey, on March 15, 1954, the son of the late Elmer Glenn Haws and Frances Joyce (Wethington) Haws who survives.

Mr. Haws was reared and educated in Boone County. He was a Granville Wells High School graduate in 1972. Mr. Haws served as a career man in the U.S. Army as a sergeant 1972-1994.

He was married to Rachel A. (Dukes) Haws in Lebanon, Indiana on June 14, 1986. Mrs. Haws survives.

As a mechanic, Mr. Haws had worked in various businesses including Reynolds Farm Equipment in Sheridan; M& S Truck and Trailer in Lebanon; and Hale’s Classic Auto in Lebanon.

Mr. Haws was a devoted husband and father.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for Friday, January 28, 2005, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, Lebanon.

Interment will follow military rites at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County, Indiana.

Born in Lizton, Indiana on January 15, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Ora Ulrigh and Grace (Elder) Scott.

Mrs. Hendricks graduated from Lizton High School and began working at what is now, The Cragan House in Lebanon, until her marriage.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling to Florida, where she would entertain family over the winter season for many years.

She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana 46052

Cause of Death: Natural Causes following an extended illness

Mr. Henry was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on August 26, 1939, and was the son of the late Ira G. “Bud” Henry, Sr. and Mildred Marie “Minnie” (Knight) Henry.

He spent his early years in Indianapolis and then served in the U.S. Army 1962-1964 and was stationed in Germany. He returned to reside in Whitestown for a number of years.

He was formerly married to Esther Louise (Joliff). He was married in Lebanon, Indiana on June 11, 1976, to Marlene Kay (Twitty) Walker Henry. Mrs. Henry survives.

He worked for a couple of years in Indianapolis for Skinner Motor Express. He then worked for about twenty years as a spray painter for Alloy Architectural in Indianapolis until he retired in 1995.

Mr. Henry enjoyed his family and friends. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and NASCAR auto racing.

Officiating: Rev. James Adams

Funeral Services will be held at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, on Friday, June 4, 2004, at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation is planned for Thursday, June 3, 2004, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Burial will follow military rites at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.

Mr. Herr was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 4, 1937. He was the son of the late Garrett and Doris Marie (Beck) Herr.

He was married in Lebanon, Indiana at St. Joseph Catholic Church on October 11, 1958, to Frances E. (Honan) Herr. Mrs. Herr survives.

He was a 1955 graduate of Lebanon High School and attended Butler University. He served in the United States Army 1956-1958.

He was self employed as a grain and live stock farmer south east of Lebanon in Boone County from the time he returned from service in the Army until his death.

He and his family enjoyed hosting an annual barn dance for a number of years; the traditions of July 4th with family and friends; as well as the Christmas tradition of a visit from a “neighborhood” Santa.

Mr. Herr was dedicated to his family and work and known as an outstanding person in the area of agriculture. He served in the community in various capacities including two terms as a member of the Lebanon School Board, 1972-1980. He was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed Lionel model trains.

Private Family Services are to be held.

Visitation will be held at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008.

Cremation will follow visitation.
