Lucy Holmes

1917-2003

Lucy “Jackie” was born in Rossville, Indiana on November 26, 1917, daughter of the late Harvey and Lennie (Thomas) Butz.

She was raised and educated in Rossville where she graduated in 1935 from Rossville High School. She attended Lafayette Business College. Lucy resided in Rossville, Lafayette, Logansport, Frankfort, Columbus, and Lebanon.

She was married in Lafayette on December 6, 1941 to Martin H. Scott. Mr. Scott died on April 18, 1971. She was married on September 23, 1976 in Austin, Minnesota to John W. Holmes. Mr. Holmes died July 17, 2003.

Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Memberships: Rossville Presbyterian Church in Rossville, IN

Lucy was a volunteer fifteen years at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette as well as having volunteered in various other capacities.

Officiating: Rev. Michael Landon

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for Monday, November 17, 2003, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Interment will be at Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, Indiana.

Robert B. Houchens

Cause of Death: Natural Causes

Mr. Houchens was born in Barren County, Kentucky on November 9, 1922. He was the son of the late Walter Bridge and Viola (Vance) Houchens.

Mr. Houchens served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers 1943-1945 during World War II.

He was married in Montgomery County on August 31, 1946, to Doris Maxine (Rankin) Houchens. Mrs. Houchens survives.

In 1939 he moved to Montgomery County. Following his period in the Army, he returned and was married. He resided in Indianapolis until 1963 and then moved to Clermont. In 1984 the family moved to Advance and in 1989 to Lebanon. Mr. Houchens was employed at General Motors in Indianapolis where he was a skilled assembly worker. He was in Plants 3 and 5 where he retired on March 30, 1977 after more than thirty years of service.

He enjoyed his family, woodworking, gardening and yard work, fishing and hunting and playing billiards. He was known for his abilities in fixing anything in need of repair.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2007 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon.
Interment will follow military rites at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown.

MR. STEPHEN B. HUCKLEBERRY

Place of Death: At Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana

Cause of Death: Natural Causes following a brief illness

A life resident, Mr. Huckleberry was born in Boone County, Indiana, on December 15, 1920, and was the son of the late Alva Baker and Nola (Harvey) Huckleberry.

He was married in Boone County in 1943 to Charlene (Brashear) and they divorced in 1970. He was married in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 21, 1971, to Barbara J. (Tanselle) Campbell Huckleberry. Mrs. Huckleberry survives.

Mr. Huckleberry loved his family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening.

In Indianapolis, Mr. Huckleberry worked as a meat cutter for Presser Packing Company. He was employed there for forty years and retired in 1988. Since retiring he had worked in Lebanon at Tanselle’s Market until 1993.

Funeral Services will be held at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, on Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation is planned for Monday, July 12, 2004, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.

MR. CARL EUGENE HUNTER

Place of death: Witham Memorial Hospital E.R., Lebanon, Indiana

Cause of death: Natural Causes following a short illness

Mr.. Hunter was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on January 27, 1930. He was the son of the late Orval and Flora (Dearinger) Hunter.

At an early age his family moved to Boone County, Indiana where he graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Indiana. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954. After the service he worked for Commercial Filters a Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation for 30 years until his retirement.

Mr. Hunter married Beverly J. (Gant) Hunter in Crawfordsville, Indiana on

March 24, 1957. Mrs. Hunter survives.

Mr. Hunter enjoyed fishing, collecting and repairing clocks. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoying spending time with family

and friends.

Funeral services are planned for Monday, March 1, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for Monday, March 1, 2004 at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Interment will follow at Sugar Plain Cemetery west of Thorntown, Indiana.

Military Rites will be given at the cemetery.

MR. FRANK C. HURST

NAME: Mr. Frank C. Hurst Age: 58

Place of Death: At his residence

Cause of Death: Natural Causes

Mr. Hurst was born in Richmond, Indiana, on September 25, 1945, the son of the late Rev. Frank C. and Evelyn M. (Gierke) Hurst.

He was married in 1966 in Lebanon, Indiana to Linda K. (Greeson) and they divorced in 1990. Mr. Hurst was engaged to be married to Linda L. (Bowles) Norton and she survives.

Mr. Hurst was reared in Winchester, Indiana where he graduated from Winchester High School in 1964. He moved to reside in Whitestown and then to Lebanon in 1965.

He was employed in 1965 in the Army Engineers at Ft. Benjamin Harrison. He became a member of the U. S. Army and served in Viet Nam 1966-1968. As a Specialist 4th Class he received honors including The Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Viet Nam Service Medal. He returned to civil service at Ft. Benjamin Harrison where he worked until 1985. He then worked as a Pinkerton Guard until 1995 when he retired due to his health.

Mr. Hurst enjoyed his family, ham radios, fishing, golf, and minature golf. He was a golf instructor at the White Lick Golf Course at Fayette in Boone County.

Funeral Services will be held at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m.

Visitation is planned on Tuesday, January 13, 2004, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Burial will follow military rites at the grave at the Union Lutheran Cemetery north east of Whitestown.

Mrs. Hussong was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on February 14, 1960. She was a daughter of the late Charles Ernest and Bonnie Leona (Yeager) Fuston. She was reared in the home of her aunt, the late Maxine Fuston.

She was reared and educated in Lebanon, Greenfield, and California. She spent most of her life in Lebanon.

She was married on May 25, 2000, in Lebanon, Indiana to Bick L. Hussong. Mr. Hussong survives.

In addition to her grandchildren and family, she enjoyed garage sales, baskets, Bingo, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Funeral Services are planned for Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Visitation will be held at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2007.
Cremation will follow services.
