Kathryn M. Heckaman
BREMEN - Kathryn M. Heckaman, 80, of 316 Woodies Lane, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999 at 4:17 a.m. at St. Joseph Community Hospital of Mishawaka following an illness. She was retired from TV Time Foods after 27 years.

Kathryn was born on May 16, 1919 in Kosciusko County to Howard and Violet Shunk Sparrow.

A lifetime area resident, she married Paul R. Heckaman on Oct. 21, 1939. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1965.

Survivors include three sons, Michael and Bev Heckaman of St. Charles, IL, Benjamin and Grace Heckaman of Bremen and Stanley and Pat Heckaman of Ann Arbor, MI; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Poulson of Chattanooga, TN; and a brother, Frank Sparrow of Etna Green.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and four brothers.

Kathryn was a member of the Order of the Easter Star and past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Bremen.

Visitation was Monday, Nov. 8, 1999 at Mishler Funeral Home.

Services were held today, Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999 at the funeral home. Rev. Joseph W. Fox, pastor of Nappanee Brethren in Christ Church, officiated.

Burial followed in Bremen Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Marguerite Forrest

BREMEN - Marguerite Forrest, 99, of Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa, formerly of Nappanee and Syracuse, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Miller's following a six month illness.

Marguerite was born on Oct. 22, 1900 in Kokomo to Rufus and Phoebe Ellis Deardorff.

A Nappanee and Syracuse resident most of her life, he was a retired cook. She worked for the Oakwood Park Hotel and Syracuse Cafe.

She was a member of the Nappanee United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Jack Forrest of Nappanee and Sebring, FL, Jim Forrest of Bahamas and Jerry Forrest of Iron River, MI; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Betty Miller of Danville, FL and Bonnie Deardorff of Danville, FL.

She was preceded in death by two great grandsons; a brother, Mark Deardorff; and half brothers, Bill Deardorff.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home in Nappanee.

Services will be Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Ross Cook, associate pastor of Nappanee United Methodist Church, officiating.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Nappanee United Methodist Church or Oakwood Inn of Syracuse.

Imogene F. Hendricks

April 19, 2006

SOUTH BEND - Imogene F. Hendricks, 90, formerly of Pulling Street, South Bend, died at 5:06 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in the Bremen Health Care Center, Bremen. She was born on March 2, 1916 in Denver to Bruce Oliver and Anna (Runkle) Ogle. Her parents and three sisters: Jennett Williams, Arvilla Whitney and Lorraine Nicodemus preceded her in death.

On March 24, 1937 in Goshen, she married William J. Hendricks, who preceded her in death in 1999.

Imogene was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Sandra (Jack) Coleman of Mishawaka and Nancy (Daniel) Perkins of Plymouth; her son, Kenneth W. (Pamela) Hendricks of Plymouth.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Kathy James; Bruce and Charles Coleman; Tim, Brian and Jason Perkins; Michelle Saunders; Shane Hendricks; Shannon Miller; Susan Wilcox, M.D.; Kenneth A. Hendricks; William J. Hendricks; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Pauline Sarver of Logansport.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, with Rev. Ken Seiffertt, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ, Woodland officiating. Internment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.

Friends will be received Friday, April 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to service time Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 9445 Delegates Row, Indianapolis, IN 46240-3805.

Margaretha E. Schwarzlose

April 19, 2006

MICHIGAN CITY - Margaretha E. Schwarzlose, 94, of Michigan City, formerly of Knox, died on Wednesday, April 19.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; her children: Ronald Schwarzlose of Olney, Ill., Gene (Linda) Schwarzlose of Olney, Ill., Wilma (Ray) Hewlett of Knox, Sharon (Jim) McCay of Michigan City and Marcey (Don) Jernas of Tippecanoe; brothers: William Kieser of Champaign, Ill. and Albert (Alice) Kieser of Lodi, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Visitation is Friday, April 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. (CST) at the M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox.

Funeral services are Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m. (CST) at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Round Lake Cemetery, Knox.

Memorials may be made to the Corinne Violet McCay Medical Fund, c/o Horizon Bank, 515 Franklin, Michigan City, IN.

Buddy Lee Seese

January 15, 1941 - April 4, 2006

PLYMOUTH - Buddy Lee Seese, 65, a Plymouth resident for 42 years, formerly living in Culver for 19 years, died of natural causes in St. Joe Regional Medical Center Plymouth, at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2006.

The son of Clarence (Bud) Seese and Violet Bickel Seese, Buddy graduated from Culver High School with the class of 1959.

On June 4, 1960, in Knox, he took Jeanette Hensley as his bride. They have been married almost 46 years.

He was employed by AM General for 30 years, retiring in 2000.

A Union Steward, a position he thoroughly enjoyed, he worked nearly every position at the plant. Buddy also worked for several years with the Braman and Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, assisting with funerals and the ambulance service.

Buddy loved to fish and hunt. Very skilled with his hands, he

was a woodworker and had numerous projects, including building homes and many other smaller projects. There is nothing that he could not build of fix.

Buddy is survived by his wife and their daughter and son-in-law,

Michelle and Richard Buchert, all of Plymouth.

A grandson, Justin Neil Buchert and two granddaughters, Shawnee Leigh and Camryn Ann Buchert, all of Plymouth, survive as well.

Sandra and Rudy Wakefield, Buddy's sister and brother-in-law, of Culver, also survive together with Madeline Hensley, his mother-in-law, of Knox.

Other survivors are brother-and-sister-in-law, Larry and Mary Hensley, Pensacola, Fla.: brother-in-law, David Drane, Knox; sister-and-brother-in-law, Iva and Jerry Hensley, Knox; sister-and-brother-in-law, Melva and Ed Brooke, Knox; and brother-in-law, Jerald Hensley, Omaha, Neb.

Also surviving is one aunt, Carol Bickel of Plymouth, and several nieces and nephews.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, two nieces, a nephew and a sister-in-law and father-in-law.

Friends will be welcomed by the family to celebrate the life of Buddy Seese from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at the

Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services for Buddy will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Steven Resner, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana.

Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mildred Ellen Young

August 5, 1926 - April 21, 2006

PLYMOUTH - Mildred Ellen Young, 79, a lifetime area resident living on Baker St., Plymouth, died of natural causes at 11:57 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2006, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

Mildred was born in Marshall County on August 5, 1926. She was the daughter of Floyd R. and Sarah Burden Roberts.

She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1944.

She was first married, in Argos, to Everett Young, on April 8,

1949. Everett died on March 28, 1973.

On July 6, 1974, Mildred and Gerald L. Young were married in

Roann, Ind. Gerald died on April 25, 1989.

Mildred worked at the State Exchange Banks in Culver, LaPaz and Plymouth for several years.

One of her favorite pastimes was reading and she was an avid

reader of all kinds of literature.

She was a member of the Inwood United Methodist Church.

Mildred is survived by a sister, Carol Jane Roberts of Argos, four nephews and two nieces.

They are: Dale and Janice Treesh, Plymouth; Wayne and Judy

Treesh, Dalton, Ga.; Harold Treesh and Doris and Paul Haseley, all of Argos and Brenda Treesh, Teegarden.

Several great nieces and nephews survive as well.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her spouses, a

sister, Ruth Reaker, a nephew and a niece.

Friends will be welcomed by her family on Friday, April 28, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N.

Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services for Mildred will be held on Saturday, April 29,

2006 , at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Gail Law, pastor of the Inwood United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Memorial gifts in Mildred's memory may be made to the Inwood

United Methodist Church.
