Darl W. Sutton, 85, of 2614 S 465 E, Winamac, IN, passed away at 8:23 AM Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac, IN.

He was born October 5, 1922, in Winamac, IN, to William Frank and Minnie Burgess Sutton. He married Beulah G. Enyeart on June 4, 1950, in Kewanna, IN. Beulah survives.

Darl was a lifelong resident of the Winamac area. He was a retired auto mechanic and had worked at Fritz Buick in Winamac for 12 years.

Helen M. Podell, 87, of 624 East 13th Street, Winamac, IN, passed away at 4:47 PM Friday, October 5, 2007 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, IN.

She was born April 14, 1920, in Winamac, IN, to Ray and Alma Harris Cooper. She married Clarence R. "Pete" Podell on September 16, 1939 in North Judson, IN. Pete died July 1, 1998.

Helen was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Judson, IN. and the Ladies Aide at the Church. Helen assisted Pete on the farm for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon EDT ( 11 AM CDT) Tuesday, October 9, 2007, in St. Peter Lutheran Church, North Judson, with Rev. Michael B. Boyd officiating.

Friends may call 3-8 PM EDT (2-7 PM CDT) at Frain Mortuary on Monday, October 8, 2007.
and one hour prior to services at the Church on Tuesday.

Memorials may be given to the St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Judson or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Burial will be in the Denham Cemetery, Denham, IN.

ETHMER A. (DUSTY) RHOADES
October 4, 2007

SERVICES: 11 AM EDT MONDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2007

Ethmer A. “Dusty” Rhoades, 83, of 1222 West St Road 14, Winamac, IN, passed away at 9:55 AM Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac, IN.

He was born September 12, 1924, in Hobart, IN, to Claude and Garnett Edwards Rhoades. He married Florence Marion Bristow in August of 1950 in Gary, IN. She died April 5, 1980.

Dusty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winamac and the American Legion and VFW in Winamac. He served in the US Army during WWII. Dusty was a retired service technician for NIPSCO and had worked at the Dean Mitchell Generating Station in Gary, IN. He had worked as the handy man for the local group home. Dusty enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, repairing clocks and gardening. He enjoyed time spent at area restaurants with his friends.

Friends may call from 3-7 PM EDT Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Frain Mortuary.

Burial will be in the McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Winamac, IN.

The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.

Memorials may be given to the Cancer Fund or to the Disabled American Veterans.

He was born June 26, 1948, in Indianpolis, IN, to John and Joan Joseph Hinman.
Bob was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed repairing cars. He was a truck driver for McCords Tire Co. in Monticello, IN. He was a former employee of McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Winamac, IN.

Charles Allen "Chuck" Simonin, 73, of 488 East 13th Street, Winamac, IN, formerly of Francesville, passed away at 3:45 PM Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born December 14, 1934, in Talma, IN, to Alvin and Evelyn Harding Simonin.

He married Iris A. Shidler on Nov. 22, 1952, in Logansport, IN. She survives.

He was a former resident of Francesville for 45 years, moving to Winamac in 1995.

He retired from NIPSCO in 1993 after 33 years of service as a certified welder.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Francesville, IN. Other memberships included the Medaryville Masonic Lodge, a former member of the Medaryville Eastern Star, and Eagle's Lodge #2580, Winamac.

He was a volunteer with the Fulton County Civil Defense and the Pulaski County Sheriff's Reserve.

Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid card player. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, football, golf, and traveling.

He utilized his crafting and carpentry skills while working with the Arizona Christian Indian Mission affiliated with his church.
